Let me start off by saying that if I could give ten stars, I would. I called Ray when I of course, called a number of other painters/painting companies highly recommended on yelp. Ray was the only person who responded to my call promptly and even texted me incase I wasn't able to answer my phone. He immediately told me that he was booked solid for the next month and immediately said he would refer me to some people who could help that he trusted because he wanted the job to get done right away. Lucky for us, we were in no rush and told him we wanted to work with him based off of his reviews and scheduled something for the following month. His consistent follow-up put me at ease that he had arrived on time (in fact most days earlier) and that he had left and locked up the place when I wasn't home. Not to mention his professionalism and his type A perfectionist side that came out during his work painting our home. He wanted it to be perfect and it showed. He spent extra time cleaning up any area where he worked, he made sure that when we came home we were happy about the job. Since we had just purchased the condo, we were in the middle of also re-cauking windows which ended up with us ruining some of the paint around the windows. Ray was quick to call it out and re-do it which is something I believe no other painter would have done. Lastly and the most important part of this is he does not charge what he is worth. It was unbelievable what other companies had quoted me for the job. In fact I had one company tell me that it was going to take 4 guys and 6 days. Ray works alone and it took him 5. He's fast and knows what he is doing. Recommend Ray 100%. We moved to a new condo a couple of weeks ago. The previous owner had lots of photos and paintings so the walls had many nail holes. Some were poorly patched with paste by the previous owner so we decided to have about 10 walls repainted with the same colors. We contacted Ray, No Games Painter based on the Yelp review. He was sick when we contacted him and oh man, Ray was so personable and so apologetic. Thus, we waited a couple of days until he got better. So worth it. From the estimate session, he was very honest and transparent about every step. He was very knowledgeable. We had gotten quotes from a couple of companies prior to Ray. Every time, the "total cost" was given and it was so much higher than No Games Painter. On the other hand, Ray was able to itemize everything so that there was no hidden or unreasonable fee. Because we had already moved in, we wanted to get the paint job done as quickly as possible while settling in. I guess Ray read our mind, and he proposed to come on Saturday and Sunday to do the job. It's a 2000 sq ft condo, and two of the walls were long hallway walls. He still got the job done in 2 days. He was always punctual. He also made some recommendations on the choice of paint for certain areas and we are so glad that we followed his advice. The previously poorly patched holes? Totally redone. The condo looks beautiful and the colors match perfectly. I wrote a lengthy review on June 27th but it mysteriously disappeared. Ray came to my home with his supplies on a Sunday and was supposed to paint on Monday. He took my deposit disappeared 2 days. No calls, no contact, no apologies for the great inconvenience. Late Tuesday evening he contacted me to share that he was "detained" but it wasn't his fault. I gave him another opportunity to come back Wednesday morning. Another no show until 2:45pm. Now he is 3 days late and actually asked me to call an uber and have them pick up my paint and drive it to my condo. What?! A painter who shows up 3 days late with no paint. Clearly another day wasted, and no painting occurred. I gave him ANOTHER opportunity to start on Thursday at 9:00am. Once again, another no show - no call. Exhausted with his nonsensical excuses, I decided I was finished with his antics. He finally contacted me Saturday begging to complete the job. I told him no and to come get his supplies. We arranged a time for Sunday. He called that morning and said he couldn't make. We, then, made plans for him to come on Monday and once again, he did not come. I had enough. He then decides he needed his supplies after a week and texted me 17x to get them. I was unavailable for 24 hours and then he threatened to call the police on me for theft. He called the next day to check up on me. He was right, everything was perfect. 3. Quality. Ray just does a great job. He's quick, but thorough. He has a lot of know-how. He fixed things that I didn't even know about, even running out to the store to get supplies when he saw the issue. His estimate was accurate. Had a good experience finding No Games Painter on Yelp. All the reviews regarding Ray's expertise and his style of work are true. He played "no games" and quoted me up front for my place with only being able to see one room. He was very careful with the work that he did as he knew I refinished our floors and took extra care not to damage the floors with his equipment. Ray was on time and completed the work within the quote. I will definitely hire him again if needed. If you are looking for someone that doesn't bs you and try to upsale you on other services you should definitely go with Ray. He arrived on time and was very detailed and honest about what he would do and how long it would take, very professional and clear. He quoted me $500 which was amazing after the previous 2 painters quoting me $1200-$3000 for my living room, kitchen and hallways. Another Yelp success! After a lot of Yelp-ing and Angie's List-ing, Ray won our business with his great reviews as well as being able to work us in before our targeted move-in date (you would not believe how many of the painters I contacted were booked months out!). It certainly didn't hurt that his quote came in at literally half of what we expected to pay based on advice from our realtor and other painters' reviews. Ray is a thorough communicator and provided text updates throughout the days that he was at work on our condo. He is very attentive and took the initiative to handle issues we hadn't even considered. We especially appreciated that he removed the tacky old window hardware and patched and painted over those areas - as first time home owners, this is something we hadn't considered telling him to do, so it was much appreciated that he suggested doing this.
