Hired JL to replace a window and siding on the back of my home and they were great. Our project ended up having some hidden variables, and they ended up having to do a couple additional services that they kept very affordable for the extra work. The back of my house looks good as new, and they cleaned up very well when they were done I've used them 3 times now through the years and will keep doing so! read more

I hired JL Contractor Services to rip out some old concrete from my walkway, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Even though it was his offseason for outdoor concrete projects, Jack came out right away and did a fantastic job. He was professional, communicated clearly throughout the process, and finished the project faster than I expected. On top of the great work, his pricing was very fair and he is a genuinely nice guy to work with. I'll definitely be calling him again for future projects! read more

Using Yelp, I found JL Contractor Services. Jack promptly messaged back and scheduled an appointment to review our roof for the two areas that had leaks - in the the living room, and the sun porch. He got up on the roof to do the initial visual inspection, and determined what would be needed. He was very thorough in his explanation and what the estimated cost would be. Once we decided to move forward with JL Contractor Services he sent the agreement, and was able to schedule his crew for a week later - during winter! He was able to look ahead and find a day where the weather allowed for the work to be done. His workers were there on time, courteous and did a very thorough job on both the front and the back - the work was completed in a day as stated. I will plan to use JL Contractor Services again, when the need arises. read more

I asked JL Contractor Services for a quote to install a power vent in the roof of my Georgian home. Jack convinced us that it would probably not solve the problem we intended to address and cause a new problem. I greatly appreciate his honesty and integrity. We were in desperate circumstances: a large piece of metal fascia had been torn by wind from the siding on our house. It was banging against our house over and over like a deafening drum. In 30° weather, the very next day, Jack got his crew out to fix it, and the siding looks like it's brand-new. Years ago he repaired our roof, after taking photos so we could see exactly what needed to be fixed. They offer high-quality work at very competitive prices. read more

We had a set of windows that were leaking through the casing into the house when it would rain. Jerry devised new cladding for the exterior window mullion, and even canted it away from the house. The workmanship is impeccable. He also recladded the upper exterior mullion on another window that had been damaged. Now, you can't even tell. The pricing was very fair, and mid range in our research. Great job, and very responsive throughout the process. We're having them quote another job, now! read more

We hired JL to install new siding on the back of our bungalow. After coming out to discuss the project, Jack provided a detailed quote with a fair price. The guys who did the work were easy to communicate with and did a great install - very careful and clean. I'm so pleased, and I'd be happy to hire JL again for any future projects. read more

fast response, showed up when promised and very reasonable quote and repair. highly recommend.

Jack and his team are extreemely skilled in construction. After years of needing to get our front cement steps repoured, finally we found JL Construction. It was a relief to find a company who would contract to complete the *whole* job, fron pulling the permit to passing inspection. Many of my neighbors asked for Jack's contact, and complemented the meticulous and beautiful job he did. Advice: give yourself plenty of lead time. This company usually has a waiting list, so getting on the list in advance of need is best. Thank you Jack and JL Construction! read more

JL Contractor Services - Roofing Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Finding a reputable roofer out of thousands can be overwhelming. I selected Jack (Jacek) Lekarczyk, owner of J.L. Contractor Services LTD, out of five (5) proposals. They were the only contractor with expertise in both roofing and exterior home improvement. Their "scope of work" was meticulously detailed. Their prices were transparent, to fully disclose all costs. My project began mid-December and required intricate work on the structural frameworks of my brick home and brick garage. Jack deployed multiple teams of "master craftsmen" in roofing, carpentry, aluminum, windows etc, in anticipation of Chicago's unpredictable weather. Each day, crews arrived an hour early, by 7:00 am, and seemed to work nonstop until the job was done. Visually, it was a spectacular job-site with complex scaffolding and industrial equipment. The massive crew of "seasoned pros'' were of the highest caliber of craftsmanship. They were polite, considerate, "masters of their trade" who took pride in their work. They valued teamwork, like a "colony of ants", for flawless execution with remarkable precision to stay on schedule. Jack was the only contractor who promised (in his proposal) to show photos for "visual proof" if additional expenses were warranted, (i.e., the replacement of rotten wood). Most impressive, he included the "panoramic photos" in his progress reports which captured entire work sites and surroundings from the sky to the ground. I could see everything as if I was standing on the roof. My new roofs are absolutely stunning! The value-added "fine-tuning" of the project, although unexpected, enhanced my property's appearance and curb appeal in ways I never imagined. Scores of "gapers" in cars and on foot marveled at the amazing transformation. I am most grateful to "Jack", "Joe", "Jiri" and their teams for such "superior" craftsmanship. Please contact Jack Lekarczyk at J.L. Contractor Services LTD. for an unforgettable experience in "premium" quality service at affordable prices. They are Better Business Bureau accredited, A+ rated, licensed, bonded, insured with verifiable customer reviews. read more

What s fantastic company to work with, a real pleasure. Jack is the best, we had a very large project, I would find more things, contact Jack and all taken care of. Very easy to work with, always answered my questions and or concerns. Jack's workers are amazing, kind, respectful, always cleaned up at the end of the day. I highly recommend Jack. We could not be happier with all of the work. We have received many compliments from other contractors, and things were pointed out that were done perfect. We had all the cement torn up. New front porch, new sidewalk from city sidewalk to ally, new slab for under deck, and new basement stairs with new retaining walls. Jack also did lots of masonry work for us. Everything is great. I collected a lot of bids prior to my project. I felt a lot of other bidders did not pay attention to our problems and tried to sell us something else. I am happy Jack took my project. We are still having work done on our roof. Jack is very thorough. He saved me a lot of money. Jack also generously donated and installed shingles on wild feral cats' house in our yard to keep them warm and dry. Update: so far our roof does not leak any more. read more

This review is for JL Contractor Services' response to my request for a quote. Jack pursued the business and never gave up on our project. Unfortunately, our condo association ran into other problems (i.e., money) that had nothing to do with JL Contractor Services. Overall, Jack was responsive and went out of his way to get us everything we needed. read more

Jack was excellent to work with all around! I reached out to get an estimate on siding. When we met with him he was very informative about the work. We received a contract shortly thereafter. Pricing was fair, and work done was excellent. He was very responsive to any questions we had throughout the project. Highly recommend JL! read more

Jack is a pleasure to work with. His company did a complete tear off and replacement of a flat style roof on our 13 unit condo building. They started and finished the job in time frame given (give or take any weather delays). There was some damage to some landscaping and they replaced it and cleaned up all of the work debris. Right before the warranty was to expire there were a few issues that arose and Jack personally came out to evaluate and took care what was under warranty still and pointed out some potential issues with some brick work/tuckpointing that required some maintenance work. That brings to the other great thing about this company. They are both roofing and masonry contractors which eliminates the need to coordinate with two separate companies, which is especially key when you are dealing with the flat roof style that is prominent in the Chicagoland area. read more

We had a leaky roof on our 115 year old house. The roof was probably last replaced 20 years ago, before we owned it. It needed a tear off and complete new roof. I got 4 bids. The other 3 companies walked around the house and paced off the dimensions. Jack was the only one who took out a measure, climbed up on the roof, checked fascia, the chimney, the underlayment. He came in the house and saw where the water was coming in. I felt a lot more confident that he understood what the job needed. One of the other contractors gave me a bid on the spot without doing any calculations, just based on walking around. Jack's crew showed up on time. It was a big crew and most of the work was done the first day. They finished in the morning of the second day and did thorough job cleaning up. They had to reset skylights and the even came inside and vacuumed up debris from the skylights. Very pleased with the work Oh, and the leak is gone ! read more

He repaired 3 basement windows for me and rebuilt a stair for half the price of a window company I contacted.

reg: new garage floor The Crew are hardworking and friendly, Very happy with new floor but has some lines not all the way smooth. Communication could be better responds to emails and text but not in timely manner scheduling needs major improvement. unclear when job will start, booked two cement jobs the same week and my garage had to wait while someone else took priority even thou I was scheduled two weeks in advance. I lost time from work because of this. Jack (owner) answered my emails and I spoke with him three times but he never stopped by to see how work was going or to see finished results, he never addressed my scheduling concern. I would use company again based on work and quality but will be more stern on scheduling because my time is just as important as anyone else's. Here is my story I first contacted JL contractors 04/22/20, I asked for estimate for a new garage floor after sending pics I received email from Jack could not give me estimate based on pics and would send foreman out to measure. Foreman came out 04/25 and measured. On 04/28 I emailed and asked for another small area to be cemented and asked when job will start, how long will take and if they work on weekends. I received email stating they don't work on weekends and job would start in about two weeks. I received contract on 05/04 signed and returned on Tue 05/05. I asked again for estimate start day and time when job will begin because I needed to request time off from my job I wanted to be there when project started. No reply until Fri 05/08 8:45pm email that read could start Mon 05/11. I was a little upset that I got email late Fri because I did not request time off also my garage needed to be cleaned and a truck that needed to be junked. I called and told him I didn't understand why I didn't get response earlier in the week also I thought you had said it was going to be a two week wait. Jack said he does not schedule cement jobs because of weather. (ok what??). he seemed to be a little frustrated at first but after I explained to him about the broken down truck and about my job he agreed to pencil me in the week of 05/25. Again he didn't agree to an exact date just that the work will begin sometime that week. Ok 05/25 Mon was Memorial day I understand no work. But on 05/26 a sunny Tue. I was told the crew had other job to do and would be at my house on Wed 05/27. (WHAT ??) (WHY ??) after all I scheduled two weeks in advance and job was to start if the weather permitted not to mention I had asked for time off of my job. After calming down I guess there was nothing I could do. 05/27 the crew arrived at 8am as scheduled and worked all day till 4pm (Jake and the crew are very hard working and friendly) 05/28 the crew scheduled to come in at 8am has not arrived and not called or texted. I contacted Jack at 9am no answer, I contacted Jake no answer until 10:10am I get a text from Jake, (truck was broken and needed to pick up materials.) The crew arrived at 11am and worked to 3pm and the cement was ready to be poured. Then I get a call from Jake (foreman) who said my concrete could not be poured 05/29 Fri because they needed to pour cement at another garage (What ??). I finally got it they scheduled two jobs mine and someone else's. I said it was fine what else could I do?. 06/01. Mon concrete was being poured but weather forecast called for rain so I got a call from Jack who said he was pulling the crew and would finish tomorrow. 06/02 the rest of concrete was poured garage was finally done. I feel I gave a fair account and fair review. read more

I used them for a new roof and a new driveway. They didn't just replace the roof but made recommendations as to whatelse would be beneficial ... no one else I interviewed did that. I've done extensive rehabs in the past i cannot express enough how professional this company is. We had a glitch at the end of the job and he took care of in a speedy and professional manner. Extra note on the driveway, these men are the hardest and the best tradesmen I've experienced. Awesome job. read more

JL Contractors did a great job and were very good to work with. Very professional and friendly. In addition to fixing the roof I had some siding coming off at a really difficult place and I hadn't even said anything about it. That was going to be my next job. Jack, the owner was awesome to work with. Smart recommendations on what to do for our 6flat roof replacement, Jack did everything; tear off, disposal, masonry on our chimneys, gutters and every phase of the job was explained and top quality. We love our front steps! We had our front steps redone and from day one, Jack was very responsive to our needs. From the moment we initially contacted him, we had immediate responses and he was able to answer all of our questions. Jack was able to provide an estimate within days of our request and his estimate was competitive with other contractors. For the quality of work he does, we were happy with the price. We wanted to salvage some of our existing stone and Jack and his team were able to do this no problem. Our project took around 1.5 weeks to complete due to inclement weather, but the outcome was amazing! His team was very professional and cleaned up after themselves before leaving each day. We have received many compliments with our finished product. read more

This company is fantastic. Jack and his crew replaced a section of sidewalk in front of my house. Jack's price beat out all my other quotes. The communication was honest and professional. Very clean and friendly operation. Use this company you won't be disappointed. read more

When you hire JL Contractor Services you quickly understand that owner Jack Lekarczyk takes tremendous pride in his work and so do the people on his team. This spring the monsoons hit Chicago and I contacted JL Contractor Services at the height of the deluge because my gutters were overflowing and contributed to the flooding of my neighbor's basement. Jack sent Jiri Vacek the next day to assess the situation and Jiri got on his ladder and inspected the 3rd-floor gutters, unplugged my downspouts, explained the issues, answered my many questions and recommended doubling the downspouts to prevent the problem from happening in the future. Jack sent me a very fair proposal and Jiri performed the work a few days later. The job was a huge one but Jiri and his associate worked hard for 11 hours and cleaned up as if they were never there. I highly recommend using JL Contractor Services. read more

Jack was great! I had a new roof, new gutters & downspouts, done by JL Contractor Services. The roofing crew was quick, conscientious, and did a very thorough job in their clean up.  The gutters & downspouts guys were real craftsmen. They were meticulous and took their time to make sure that every cut, attachment, and seam was done with pride.  All the work was great.  I highly recommend JL Contractor Services. read more

I hired JL Contractors for a major exterior renovation that included the following work: * Removal of existing asphalt shingle siding * Patch and repair any rotted wood sheathing * Replace 25 windows, cap new window frames with aluminum * Install rigid insulation, building wrap, install new vinyl siding (both vertical, horizontal, and wood paneling with applied trim) * Reframe soffits, clad soffits with aluminum and soffit vents, replace gutters and downspouts, replace front and rear porch roofs. * Replace front and rear entry doors. * Modify several existing window openings. * Install aluminum soffit panels at rear porch ceiling. * Tear down existing wood bead board ceiling at front porch. PORCH was built by others. The work speaks for itself. I work in a related field on the design and construction side. So I knew exactly what I wanted and how I thought it can be attained. Jack's crew was very professional and respectful throughout the project considering I have an 80 lb dog whom they had to work around. His crew was very knowledgeable and provided many good ideas on how to detail certain conditions given that my house is ballooned framed and over 100 years old with interesting forms. Jack was also very responsive and very accommodating to my various questions and requests to provide updated proposals per my constantly changing mind. His proposal was very detailed and there were no surprises during the project where something critical to the project was left out. I would recommend and would definitely hire JL Contractors for any of my future needs. read more

I needed to have the walk from my house to the main sidewalk replaced. I called 20 contractors. 3 called back. One was nuts, another wouldn't come out for a job this small, and the third was Jack. I'd seen good reviews on Yelp, and the price seemed right, so I went with Jack. I was told to expect them in late October, early November. Got a call Sunday (10/2) night. They had some downtime on a job in my area, so could they do my sidewalk on Monday? Sure! The guys came as scheduled, and did a beautiful job. It will be even better, I'm sure, when they remove the forms. Jack is going to be my first call the next time I need work done. Great job, nice guys. Can't beat that. read more

Of all the companies I called to provide estimates for a new roof and chimney rebuild, a couple never showed up, a couple never followed up with a written estimate. One of the big companies even sent me an unsolicited estimate without ever coming out to my home, not sure what the story is behind that. Of the companies that did show up, only Jack went up on the roof to inspect and evaluate the chimney, roof, and gutters. He also took pictures with his digital camera to show me the current condition. A couple of days later, I received a clearly outlined estimate via email, which I accepted a week later after doing my due diligence by looking up state licenses, BBB complaints, and any online reviews. The before and after pictures on his site of past work were also helpful in my decision to go with Jack. Jack's crew showed up early and stayed late the first day of work and for the next couple of days Jack called to keep me updated on the progress. The finished work appears to have been done well. I would definitely recommend Jack for masonry and roofing projects. read more

After a drunk driver crashed into our front staircase, we needed someone to rebuild it. I sent Jack an email, which included some pictures of the damage, explaining the situation and that I needed a written estimate for insurance purposes. Well, the next day by 2pm I had the estimate in my mailbox! It took a while to finally get the money from the insurance, so by then Jack had already taken on other jobs. He was honest and told us that it would be about 3 weeks before he could get to us. Through out he kept in touch either through emails or text messages to let us know when he was finally coming over to get started. His crew was very friendly, polite and professional. They did a great job! Just look at the pictures! read more
