John and his team were top notch. We dealt with this in October 2018 and had our windows for about six months. Our home required about 26 windows including double hung, picture, and sliders. John met me at my home in the late evening and provided a quote. There's no sales pitch, used car salesman tactics, demonstrations that have little real-world results, etc. With other Window companies, they push their "Cadillac" windows that give a marginal performance increase for an exponential cost. Not with Best Windows. I knew beforehand they installed Kensington brand windows. They started with the manufacturer's basic line. I inquired about the mid-level line and John provided his input on why he didn't think they were really worth the additional investment. John's pricing was straightforward. There was no "oh you get a Yelp discount" or "oops I forgot to add a window to your quote, I'll throw that in for free." It was refreshing to talk to a non-pushy company for once. We went with John and his installer Chris put them in our home about six weeks later. Took about a day and a half. His crew showed up about an hour earlier and were super fast! The windows are awesome and have already saved on my heating bill this past winter. read more

We bought our windows from Best Windows back in 2017, and while some seals eventually failed, the company honored their lifetime guarantee without hesitation. John, the owner, was incredibly professional and helpful--he personally replaced the windows just yesterday. It's rare to find a business that truly stands behind its product and delivers great customer service years down the line. Highly recommend Best Windows and John for anyone looking for quality products and a company that keeps its word! read more

I highly recommend Apex Window Werks for window glass replacement. An appointment was made at my convenience and the agent was punctual. He made measurements and the glass was delivered and installed the next day. I was impressed by the skill and courtesy of the installers. I will definitely keep the Apex card for future needs. read more

I can't say enough good things about the work these guys do! I had my balcony window and door replaced and the quality of work, material, and products they use are second to none. Their attention to precise detail is just amazing. They were extremely attentive to the areas I pointed out which were a drafty problem for me. They went above and beyond to make sure capping and insulation were more than adequate. The light coming through my new windows breathed new life into my home. After they finished all the installation, they left my place so spotless, it looked like the construction work never took place. John & Steve have been an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning till the end. I'm so happy with my windows, I know I will be working with them again and again. read more

If you're looking for an operation that has the professionalism of the remedial high school wood shop class, I would recommend calling these dodes ASAP! They will not disappoint. To ensure you have the worst experience possible, ask for their category champion in nuclear crappy service, John. I texted John a picture of my sliding patio door I needed replaced then spoke with him on the phone. He shot me a price of $3100, which was high, but I was OK with it, because it was about $600 more than the no-name Craigslist guy. I told John I wanted to go ahead with it and gave him all of my info. He said one of his guys would reach out to me to come by and take measurements and e-mail the contract to print out, sign and give to the installer. 10 days go by, I never received the e-mailed contract and I don't hear anything. So I reach out to John again. John doesn't remember anything about it and doesn't have my order, even though it was right there in the text thread. Duh! And e-mail! John said both (the text and e-mail) didn't come through for some reason. For real dude? You got to be tripp'n.... John apologizes, said he'll take care of it immediately and I should have an e-mail confirmation and phone call tomorrow from the installer. You're not going to believe this... but neither of those things ever happened. Shocking, I know. If he was upfront and said "Hey man, thanks for reaching out, but right now I'm not interested in doing just one patio door on a 4th floor roof. That's not something I want to do, it's not worth our time. We have bigger fish to fry." No harm, no foul. He would have saved me 3 weeks of a leaking patio door in a record setting rain season. I ended up going with a different company I found on Yelp, Midwest Windows and Doors, who was $2200, very professional start to to finish. Very satisfied. read more

Best Windows does an excellent job installing and servicing their products. The installers are professionals that know what they are doing. Best Windows last for years. The first windows that Best installed for me were done in 2008 and they still work as if they were new. I liked the work that Best did so well that I had other windows installed by them. Best also stands behind their work with warranty that they honor. Best has done some minor repair for me under warranty. Hard to find a company that honors their warranty these days. Best does. read more

John has been amazing. I had issues with windows bubbling up in my home. I found the previous owner had used Best Windows so I called John to see what he could do. Keep in mind windows are only warrantied for original owners. John still replaced 12 ( not 1 or 2 but 12) sections. We placed the order for replacement and it took 4-6 weeks as expected. Once they were in, he came by to order them off. I was not sure how to install them so he was nice enough to install all of them for me. Definitely recommend him and look forward to using him in the future ! read more

I had a large picture window that was broken. I called multiple companies to look at it. Because it was only 3 windows I could not get anyone to come replace them until I found Best Windows. John was quick to respond. He ordered the windows that I needed & the installation was done in the time frame he said it would be. Great customer service by the installers. I will definitely use them again. read more

I reached out to Best Windows because of the solid reviews. I initially checked with the company to see if they worked in Berwyn. He confirmed that they do, but when I ended up calling to get a quote, and asked to text instead, I was met with some resistance because of my home being in Berwyn, told I needed to really check all the Berwyn permits related to basement windows, and then was never pursued further to see if I wanted to get a quote. By comparison, I reached out to another well rated company on Yelp. I was little hesitant because of my experience with Best Windows (John) and afraid I'd be met with little interest in my business. The other company was happy to work with Berwyn homes, explained that they'd help with figuring out the permit and making sure everything was according to code, and made the whole process seem doable. Bottom line, if you live in Berwyn, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

Where do I begin with my review. First and foremost, John is probably the best/nicest guy I have ever dealt with during any of my home improvements. Yes, having a job that ran into issues did irritate me, but he has been nothing short of amazing, and I truly mean that. From the moment we called to get a quote, to him allowing us to visit a home to see and operate the patio doors. No matter what my question or concern has been, he has ALWAYS responded to me within hours. As everyone knows when you do any home project, many unforeseen circumstances can arise. The real test of any company is how do they respond once issues do arise. During my install of 2 patio doors, some issues arose from the installation and some from a couple defects from the manufacturer. John came to my home to inspect the jobs, kept me up to date with open dialogue, answered all my numerous emails and explained things/choices so I understood why certain materials were used to ensure I was satisfied. Many things were completely out of his control, yet he never shifted the blame, never avoided me or tried to make any excuses. His only response was that he will get everything fixed and I will be completely satisfied. I have already recommended Best Windows to all of my friends, family and coworkers. If a company stands behind their work and their product like John has, there is no reason to ever look anywhere else. Most positive reviews online are from jobs where everything went as planned. I feel as though this positive review should be worth more due to the fact that when things went wrong, it was so easy to work with John to ensure everything was corrected. read more

LOOK NO FURTHER! JOHN IS THE BEES KNEES! Back in 2017, we had just purchased our starter home which had original windows throughout. We decided we needed an upgrade. After much research and many quotes, we decided to hire John. John was always timely, personable, honest, and reliable. He installed our windows and from start to finish the project was a breeze. We then moved and ran into the same issue with our new home. Without hesitation, John was the first call I made. We loved our windows SO Much on our old home that we knew we just needed John to do the project again on our new home. I've gotten to know John on a more personal level over these years and he is nothing but kind, honest, and genuine. He truly cares about his clients and what they are hoping to achieve with their projects. You will not be disappointed! I highly HIGHLY recommend John with Best Windows. read more

Well done, Best Windows!!! Being female, many contractors gave me obscenely high quotes and didn't detail out prices (which I requested). Working with John at Best Windows was such a pleasure. He listened to my needs, was candid, honest, and detailed out pricing. Also, he provides the highest quality service for the best price. His team (pleasant & professional) Installed 14 windows. I expected minor issues. And John/team were quick to respond and fixed them immediately. I highly, highly recommend Best Windows. read more

I asked the owner/salesman/shyster for SOUND BLOCKING WINDOWS. NO other need for windows. These cheesy windows are worse than my previous ones from the 1970's. I haven't slept past 3 am since they were installed, as I live near highway I55, and that is when they 4 am shift leaves for work. I went to BBB and they were no help. They said he said he didn't agree. My husband was there for the excruciatingly long appt with the owner John, and he also stressed the need for SOUND BLOCKING WINDOWS. Wish I had read yelp. John the owner stated he spent $13,000.00 to Google to keep his name up front on searches. Be Careful. read more

We found Best Windows by their reviews on Yelp! We were looking at a job of replacing seventeen (17) windows on the first floor of our house. We exercised due diligence and got estimates from Gilkey, Four Seasons, Feldco, and Best Windows. Best Windows not only offered the best price of the four companies we interviewed, but also were supplying a superior product. The lack of high-pressure sales tactics, like today-only pricing and financing scams made John seem very trustworthy. John is personable and attentive, and kept in contact with us for the duration of our business arrangement. We elected to replace only twelve of the windows for financial reasons. John took detailed measurements and ordered the product. In 2-3 weeks, the windows arrived, and installation was scheduled. The workmen arrived at the appointed time and began work immediately. I was amazed that they managed to replace all twelve windows in one day. Their cleanup was flawless and the windows were very nice. The workmen also helped me correct an issue with a screen door that I had been unable to hang correctly, which was awesome for me and completely unnecessary for them, but much appreciated. The comfort level in our home during the arctic blast of the winter of 2014-2015 was much improved over earlier years. Also, it's much quieter in our home and much easier to air condition the place. This spring, we decided to finish the job and replace the final five windows. We never hesitated about calling John. We were able to get a similar price on windows that were actually more efficient than the ones we had gotten the previous year. This installation also went off without a hitch, and was done in half a day. The only small issue was that John mistakenly ordered full screens for those windows, and using window air conditioners is impossible without removing the screens. When I notified John of the problem, he immediately ordered half-screens for the new windows at no additional charge and they were delivered in a few weeks. We had a mechanical problem with one of the first round of windows this past August, where one of the springs that holds the sash up broke for no reason whatsoever. We immediately informed John, who had a representative of the manufacturer and supplier come out to the house to fix it. We had to wait a couple of weeks for parts, but this wasn't a huge deal to us as we could still close and lock the window. The repairs wound up taking less than an hour, and the window is good as new, with again, no charge to us. John is easy to work with and get ahold of. He answers his phone 95% of the time you call, unless he's with a customer. He returns messages promptly. He stands behind his work. He provides a good value and a superior product. In the event that we ever need windows again, we'll be sure to call John. read more

I needed to replace all the windows in my house. 18 total windows. I had originally committed to a larger window company that gave me their sales pitch and told me the price was good for that day. And I had to write him a check to lock in that special price. After he left, I started thinking about that one day price, and talking to my brother, I had a change of heart. It was kind of fishy having a price good for just that day. I submitted to cancel the job and got my money back. Thank goodness for that 3 day Right to Cancel. Then I researched and found Best Windows Inc. With all the good reviews, I called up John. He came out to visit me even in a snow storm. He showed me the product from his supplier and all the positive reviews his company has received through Angie's List and Yelp, and the best thing was NO negative reviews. He also warned me about those special one day pricing to lock in customers. Those are the companies to stay far away from. The warranty John provided on parts and labor was lifetime, including broken glass! Then he gave me his price for the same job and came in so much lower than the big company. So I signed with Best Windows. And was I glad I did! What a wonderful person to deal with and the crew that came to install the windows was polite and courteous. The windows were installed in one day with 3 guys. Although they did not speak much English, they were very professional. The weather during their install was below 15degF. They worked right through and did an excellent job! It was very cold outside, so I did not take too close of a look, but generally speaking, it looked great! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great window with great service, and great pricing! read more

Once again FIVE STARS! I've been replacing my windows a few at a time each year when I get my tax return money. This year were the last 3 windows to go and as usual they did an amazing job for a super price. I wish I had more windows for them to replace! The workers are on-time, professional and friendly, and are highly skilled at what they do. Every piece of metal flashing and every caulk bead are perfect. The windows are beautiful and are such good quality my house is now silent inside and about 10 degrees cooler! I had 2 double hung vinyl windows and a large picture window replaced for $1400. Feldco wanted almost $3,000 for the same job. HA! read more

I had my windows installed in early spring, my entire house at once. Excellent price, and Jon was very quick with response time and installation. I've waited to review until I could see if it really made a difference in my winter heating bill and comfort. I knew they would look 100% better than the old storm windows, but I wanted to know if it really made an actual difference. I have to say, huge difference. My house (built in 1925) is so much warmer than the past 12 winters I've lived here, its impossible to compare. I look at my neighbors windows, with the frosting of snow on the INSIDE, just like mine used to, and I don't know why I waited so long. Great job! read more

We just had 9 new windows installed by Best Windows. We had met the owner, John Wrzesinski, at a home improvement show about 2 years ago. Back then, he came to our home to provide a quote. We also had 2 other well-known companies come out. Pella's pricing was three times as much as John's. John's windows have a lifetime guarantee as long as you own your home. This year, we decided to do the 9 windows so we called John to get a revised quote. He kept the prices the same as they were 2 years ago and we placed the order. He called 2 weeks later saying the windows were in - when can they install them. Literally, 4 days later his guys were out to install them. The guys who came out have worked with John for many years and were skilled and professional. All I can say to those of you out there....it is not too good to be true....John really can deliver on his prices. He's a professional person to deal with as well. I have no complaints and plan to use him again to finish the windows in the other half of our house next year (and siding). On a different note, we used another local company prior to John to put in a few windows, including a bay. We've had to go back many times to the company and complain about the work, have even had the manufacturer out here to fix some things, and the owner of THAT local company was very unprofessional and lied about several things. And his prices were a lot more than John's with only a 10 year limited warranty. So I would HIGHLY recommend John for your windows. I can't speak to his siding and roofing experience, but when that time comes for us, we will trust him and his team to do it and I know they'll do a good job I can imagine that if anything had gone wrong with our windows, John would have fixed any of the issues. read more

Edit: After posting this review, John have called me to sort things out. I decide to change it from 1 star to 4. I received a cleaning reimbursement and I appreciate the follow-up. I also removed some details from my original review since they were errors on my part. Also note that the installers will leave stickers on your new windows that are hard to take out. Need goo gone and lots of scraping. John said they have to leave them on the windows (for some reason) I personally would have been happier if they were removed so that I don't have to clean up. If you go with this company, make sure you ask them to remove said stickers. Original Review: Best windows is ok. The sales pitch is quick and easy and that's why I went with Best Windows. As a service company I do not recommend this company. Windows installed in almost twice the time they estimated. Took time off work and they did not finish. They call me before they were leaving. I was 15 minutes away when they called me and I told them to wait until i get home, I arrived and the house was abandoned and the doors were all unlocked. Kinda weird, why didn't they call 15 min before they had to leave? not sure. The house was left in poor conditions in terms of cleanliness, they do not clean up after themselves. They use a rug and that's it. After they left there was dust and debris in every room. And on the furniture that they did not move back. On top of that the windows were left with stickers on the windows that cannot go off without scraping and a no-fun goo gone endeavor. I basically spent my entire weekend cleaning and scraping. John (the owner) did not answer or return our phone calls the first few days after the installation. So I guess this is part of the experience. We got a special treat after paying $10,000. What a fun surprise. Summary, anybody can install windows and they did that alright. But in terms of professional service and cleaning up; this company is lacking. read more

When I bought my condo, all the windows were in a laughable state of disrepair. Held up by dowels, not a straight line in sight, flapping screens, you name it. I thought I could deal for a while but that went quite literally out the window after I opened one and it fell out of the frame and hit me on the head. So, after much back-and-forth with my condo board and much discussion with contractor and architect friends and much Googling (am now semi-expert on the subject of window replacements), I started calling around for quotes from highly ranked companies. Of my top three picks, John offered exactly the product I was looking for at a great price. His installation crew -- while sweating bullets in my 85 degree apartment -- were efficient, polite, and cleaned up after themselves beautifully. (I did have to ask them not to throw the old windows down into the garden, and there were some small caulking mistakes but those are really small potatoes compared to what they put up with.) John was also super responsive and a pleasure to work with. I was waiting for the cold weather to write a review, just in case, but since that hasn't really kicked in yet (or can I not feel it in my warm, draft-free home?), I'm doing it now. Good prices, good product, good service = John's your man. Do it. Your bills will thank you. *As a fun aside, John's voice was somehow recorded into my gate buzzer so now whenever someone buzzes me I get a call from "John of Best Windows." read more

Wow - above and beyond! John sent a letter in the beginning of the year indicating that we were eligible for a Tax Rebate on our window installation from Summer of 2012. I thought this rebate type had long expired and had not even thought to look into it. He included the pertinent information for our tax documents. $200 deduction. Thank you for the ongoing great service, and now it's Spring, we are enjoying the porch with the windows opening and bringing fresh air into the house. read more

I am writing this review as we just had our window installation completed. I had several window consultations between almost 5 of the top name window companies before findings Best Windows on yelp. I found Best Windows to be the best deal and make in my opinion the best windows. I scheduled a consult and within a week our windows were measured and ordered. About 2-3 weeks later our custom windows were complete and ready for installation. We scheduled a time and 3 workers presented to my home at 9am to complete the job. They were finished around 430-5pm. After they left, my husband and I did a once over and discovered 2 of the screens had holes and 1 window needed to be re-caulked. We also noticed 2 pretty good nicks in a wall and our desk. I contacted Best Windows regarding these issues and they scheduled an appt to come out within 2 days to fix the issues. Our windows look great and I already notice a difference in the temperature in our home. I would absolutely recommend Best Windows. read more

Best Windows - Bedroom window looks great! - Windows Installation Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

I wanted to start the winter before writing a review of the work that John and team did, last summer. I'm pretty much mimicking what others have said: low pressure, good communication, and quality work/ product. John was very helpful and gave an informed opinion on the best way to go about the work. They took out all of my old windows and installed the new ones in a single day in my South Side, "Chicago-Style Square", two-story house. My only criticism was that they were about 2 weeks late on the estimated install date. Otherwise, no complaints and not enough to warrant less than 5 stars. read more

John with Best Windows was great! Installation was quick and professional. Windows look amazing. Would highly recommend.

John at Best Windows was a pleasure to work with and gave me the best price, product, and customer service I could ask for. I recently purchased an older condo that needed all of its windows replaced. John was able to come out and provide a fast quote that beat out other vendors. In addition to that, the windows that he quoted were of higher quality and have much longer warranty than everything else I was quoted. It took 6 weeks from the time of the quote to final installation, exactly as promised. Installation was a breeze and the windows look great. Highly recommended! read more

Best Windows did a great job for me and my family. We purchased a total of 11 windows for three rooms in my house and could not be happier. Re: Best Windows. No, John, I am not calling you in reference to your two missed appointments with me, without a call from you. Zero. Customer service. I got my windows replaced based on the yelp reviews.. I want to tell you the number of reputable professional and the owner of this company made a Sunday visit to sell me windows. One. The windows are pieces of shit. A cold wknd come and I can feel it. Two. When I moved into my condo in 2008, I purchased expensive wood, nice blinds on my windows. The owner of this company, who will answer your call upon first call, told me that my blinds would be fine to rehang it would not be a problem. When the windows were installed, my blinds did not fit. I contacted both the guy that the owner pawned off on me as well the owner and got no response at all. However, when the actual installation came my blinds of cost more than the windows self could not be rehung. When I contacted this owner he has yet to contact me back and I hope that he reads this yelp review and contact me because I think it's bullshit. Do not trust this man. read more

Full disclosure: I originally wrote this review on Angie's List but it was deleted by their staff after using their complaint resolution process. Since I can't put the review back up on Angie's List (per their TOS), I'm listing it here for visibility. I called John to replace one bathroom window. He arrived (late, which would be a common theme) with the paperwork and I paid him a deposit of $860 for 1 window + casement. He stated I would be contacted when someone would be available to measure. Several weeks later I still had not heard from John about the measurement. So I called and asked about it and he said he would do it himself. He came later that week and did the measurement. He then told me it would take a couple weeks for the window to arrive at which point someone would call and schedule the installation. Again, no one ever called. So after several weeks, I called John again to find out what was going on now that it was close to 2 months after I paid the deposit and signed the paperwork. John said he had the window and scheduled a time for the installers to do the job. I took a day off to accommodate the installers who showed up on time in a plain white truck. The installer spoke very little English. I showed him the window and after checking the sizing said that he couldn't install the window because the one that was ordered was too small to fit. He also said he couldn't put the casement in but couldn't explain why. He then made a phone call and, without saying anything else to me, left. I assumed John would call me back once he found out about the issue. But after 2 weeks John hadn't even called. So again, I had to chase down John by phone and ask about the installation issues. He stated it was his fault that the measurement was wrong and that he had ordered the correct size based on the installer's measurements. The window would be in the following week. I asked about the installer not being able to put in the casement, but he had no idea what I was talking about. He said he would call the installer and find out what was going on then call me back. But he never did. I decided I was tired of always having to chase down John so I waited. 4 WEEKS LATER, still no phone call. So I used Angie's List's complaint resolution to get my deposit back. Unfortunately, I was unaware that using that service means Angie's List will delete the negative review and only allow a positive review with a grade of A or B to be put up in its place. I'm sure the fact that Best Windows pays Angie's List for advertising services helps as well. In any case, I did get my money back. I don't recommend Best Windows unless you're extremely flexible on your timetable and don't mind having to do all the legwork to get the job scheduled and done because John won't do it. Also expect that if there are issues not to be able to communicate with the installers which can add additional delays. read more

The owner of the company wanted to sell me what he wanted to put in. He wanted to sell me the bare basic windows that meet the min for a tax credit. I told him thats not what I want and he got upset and just about walked out because I didnt want the junk windows that he was going to offer me. Then he kept arguing with me, I told him to go ahead and write the quote for what I want and I would consider it just to shut him up and get him out of my house. read more

This company recently installed 7 windows in our Elgin home and we had a very positive customer experience from start to finish. John, the owner, is an amicable and candid guy and helped us finalize the project quote in advance. We then worked with Steve, who visited to take measurements for the windows and arrange the scheduling. Steve was also friendly, efficient and accommodating. After the custom-sized window order shipped, Steve sent the crew out and the installation was completed rapidly and professionally. My wife noted the crew's attentiveness to cleaning up and after they left, it was as if nobody was ever there--except we now had brand new windows! The final charge was precisely what I had been quoted without any surprises, 'bait and switches' or 'gotchas' so how could I give these folks anything but five stars? We plan to hire Best Windows in the future to help us install some more aging windows desperately in need of replacement. read more

We had a big name window company come out and give us a quote and of course they tried to get us to write a check that night. They haggled with us knocking literally a couple thousand dollars off of a five window job. Ridiculous. John came in, gave us a price right away and it was the real price- a better price for essentially the same window. No gorilla in the room right out of the gate. The windows came in as promised, and the installers were in and out of the job within 3 hrs for 5 windows. Left nothing behind and everything looks beautiful. The installers were very nice and respectful of our home. It cut back about 50% of the noise from outside and no more draft! They are easy to open up for cleaning. Not only was it a great install but John was very gracious with payment. He is a real stand up guy who is proud of his business and it shows. We love best windows!!! Thanks. read more

Have an update: The owner contacted me shortly after I wrote this review to follow up on not having the window installed like I wanted. He indicated the windows are flexible so that you can change the configuration of them. He offered to come by to show me how to reconfigure the window and flip the screen to the side I wanted. He also showed me how to remove the windows so that I can clean them. Thought this was nice of him. After using the windows for a few weeks now, I've noticed a significant change. Before room would drop 5 degrees due to the draft. Most if not all of the draft is gone. I also hear less noise from outside. read more

We got four quotes (Marvin, Renewal by Anderson and Pella) and saved thousands of dollars by going with Best. read more
