He shot me a price of $3100, which was high, but I was OK with it, because it was about $600 more than the no-name Craigslist guy. He said one of his guys would reach out to me to come by and take measurements and e-mail the contract to print out, sign and give to the installer. 10 days go by, I never received the e-mailed contract and I don't hear anything. So I reach out to John again. John doesn't remember anything about it and doesn't have my order, even though it was right there in the text thread. Duh! And e-mail! John said both (the text and e-mail) didn't come through for some reason. For real dude? You got to be tripp'n.... John apologizes, said he'll take care of it immediately and I should have an e-mail confirmation and phone call tomorrow from the installer. You're not going to believe this... but neither of those things ever happened. Shocking, I know. If he was upfront and said "Hey man, thanks for reaching out, but right now I'm not interested in doing just one patio door on a 4th floor roof. That's not something I want to do, it's not worth our time. We have bigger fish to fry." No harm, no foul. He would have saved me 3 weeks of a leaking patio door in a record setting rain season. John and his team were top notch. We dealt with this in October 2018 and had our windows for about six months. Our home required about 26 windows including double hung, picture, and sliders. John met me at my home in the late evening and provided a quote. There's no sales pitch, used car salesman tactics, demonstrations that have little real-world results, etc. With other Window companies, they push their "Cadillac" windows that give a marginal performance increase for an exponential cost. Not with Best Windows. I knew beforehand they installed Kensington brand windows. They started with the manufacturer's basic line. I inquired about the mid-level line and John provided his input on why he didn't think they were really worth the additional investment. John's pricing was straightforward. There was no "oh you get a Yelp discount" or "oops I forgot to add a window to your quote, I'll throw that in for free." It was refreshing to talk to a non-pushy company for once. We went with John and his installer Chris put them in our home about six weeks later. Took about a day and a half. His crew showed up about an hour earlier and were super fast! He confirmed that they do, but when I ended up calling to get a quote, and asked to text instead, I was met with some resistance because of my home being in Berwyn, told I needed to really check all the Berwyn permits related to basement windows, and then was never pursued further to see if I wanted to get a quote. By comparison, I reached out to another well rated company on Yelp. I was little hesitant because of my experience with Best Windows (John) and afraid I'd be met with little interest in my business. The other company was happy to work with Berwyn homes, explained that they'd help with figuring out the permit and making sure everything was according to code, and made the whole process seem doable. Where do I begin with my review. First and foremost, John is probably the best/nicest guy I have ever dealt with during any of my home improvements. Yes, having a job that ran into issues did irritate me, but he has been nothing short of amazing, and I truly mean that. I needed to replace all the windows in my house. 18 total windows. I had originally committed to a larger window company that gave me their sales pitch and told me the price was good for that day. And I had to write him a check to lock in that special price. After he left, I started thinking about that one day price, and talking to my brother, I had a change of heart. It was kind of fishy having a price good for just that day. I submitted to cancel the job and got my money back. Thank goodness for that 3 day Right to Cancel. Then I researched and found Best Windows Inc. With all the good reviews, I called up John. He came out to visit me even in a snow storm. He showed me the product from his supplier and all the positive reviews his company has received through Angie's List and Yelp, and the best thing was NO negative reviews. He also warned me about those special one day pricing to lock in customers. Those are the companies to stay far away from. The warranty John provided on parts and labor was lifetime, including broken glass! Then he gave me his price for the same job and came in so much lower than the big company. So I signed with Best Windows. And was I glad I did! What a wonderful person to deal with and the crew that came to install the windows was polite and courteous. The windows were installed in one day with 3 guys. Although they did not speak much English, they were very professional. The weather during their install was below 15degF. Once again FIVE STARS! I've been replacing my windows a few at a time each year when I get my tax return money. This year were the last 3 windows to go and as usual they did an amazing job for a super price. I wish I had more windows for them to replace! I've waited to review until I could see if it really made a difference in my winter heating bill and comfort. I knew they would look 100% better than the old storm windows, but I wanted to know if it really made an actual difference. I have to say, huge difference. My house (built in 1925) is so much warmer than the past 12 winters I've lived here, its impossible to compare. We just had 9 new windows installed by Best Windows. We had met the owner, John Wrzesinski, at a home improvement show about 2 years ago. Back then, he came to our home to provide a quote. We also had 2 other well-known companies come out. Pella's pricing was three times as much as John's. John's windows have a lifetime guarantee as long as you own your home. This year, we decided to do the 9 windows so we called John to get a revised quote. He kept the prices the same as they were 2 years ago and we placed the order. He called 2 weeks later saying the windows were in - when can they install them. Literally, 4 days later his guys were out to install them. The guys who came out have worked with John for many years and were skilled and professional. All I can say to those of you out there....it is not too good to be true....John really can deliver on his prices. He's a professional person to deal with as well. I have no complaints and plan to use him again to finish the windows in the other half of our house next year (and siding). On a different note, we used another local company prior to John to put in a few windows, including a bay. We've had to go back many times to the company and complain about the work, have even had the manufacturer out here to fix some things, and the owner of THAT local company was very unprofessional and lied about several things. And his prices were a lot more than John's with only a 10 year limited warranty. So I would HIGHLY recommend John for your windows. I can't speak to his siding and roofing experience, but when that time comes for us, we will trust him and his team to do it and I know they'll do a good job I can imagine that if anything had gone wrong with our windows, John would have fixed any of the issues. read more

Edit: After posting this review, John have called me to sort things out. I decide to change it from 1 star to 4. I received a cleaning reimbursement and I appreciate the follow-up. I also removed some details from my original review since they were errors on my part. Also note that the installers will leave stickers on your new windows that are hard to take out. Need goo gone and lots of scraping. John said they have to leave them on the windows (for some reason) I personally would have been happier if they were removed so that I don't have to clean up. If you go with this company, make sure you ask them to remove said stickers. Original Review: Best windows is ok. The sales pitch is quick and easy and that's why I went with Best Windows. As a service company I do not recommend this company. Windows installed in almost twice the time they estimated. Took time off work and they did not finish. They call me before they were leaving. I was 15 minutes away when they called me and I told them to wait until i get home, I arrived and the house was abandoned and the doors were all unlocked. Kinda weird, why didn't they call 15 min before they had to leave? not sure. The house was left in poor conditions in terms of cleanliness, they do not clean up after themselves. They use a rug and that's it. After they left there was dust and debris in every room. And on the furniture that they did not move back. On top of that the windows were left with stickers on the windows that cannot go off without scraping and a no-fun goo gone endeavor. I basically spent my entire weekend cleaning and scraping. John (the owner) did not answer or return our phone calls the first few days after the installation. So I guess this is part of the experience. We got a special treat after paying $10,000. What a fun surprise. Summary, anybody can install windows and they did that alright. But in terms of professional service and cleaning up; this company is lacking. read more

When I bought my condo, all the windows were in a laughable state of disrepair. Held up by dowels, not a straight line in sight, flapping screens, you name it. I thought I could deal for a while but that went quite literally out the window after I opened one and it fell out of the frame and hit me on the head. So, after much back-and-forth with my condo board and much discussion with contractor and architect friends and much Googling (am now semi-expert on the subject of window replacements), I started calling around for quotes from highly ranked companies. Of my top three picks, John offered exactly the product I was looking for at a great price. His installation crew -- while sweating bullets in my 85 degree apartment -- were efficient, polite, and cleaned up after themselves beautifully. (I did have to ask them not to throw the old windows down into the garden, and there were some small caulking mistakes but those are really small potatoes compared to what they put up with.) John was also super responsive and a pleasure to work with. I was waiting for the cold weather to write a review, just in case, but since that hasn't really kicked in yet (or can I not feel it in my warm, draft-free home?), I'm doing it now. I am writing this review as we just had our window installation completed. I had several window consultations between almost 5 of the top name window companies before findings Best Windows on yelp. I found Best Windows to be the best deal and make in my opinion the best windows. I scheduled a consult and within a week our windows were measured and ordered. About 2-3 weeks later our custom windows were complete and ready for installation. We scheduled a time and 3 workers presented to my home at 9am to complete the job. They were finished around 430-5pm. After they left, my husband and I did a once over and discovered 2 of the screens had holes and 1 window needed to be re-caulked. We also noticed 2 pretty good nicks in a wall and our desk. I contacted Best Windows regarding these issues and they scheduled an appt to come out within 2 days to fix the issues. John, the owner, is an amicable and candid guy and helped us finalize the project quote in advance. We then worked with Steve, who visited to take measurements for the windows and arrange the scheduling. Steve was also friendly, efficient and accommodating. After the custom-sized window order shipped, Steve sent the crew out and the installation was completed rapidly and professionally. My wife noted the crew's attentiveness to cleaning up and after they left, it was as if nobody was ever there--except we now had brand new windows! The final charge was precisely what I had been quoted without any surprises, 'bait and switches' or 'gotchas' so how could I give these folks anything but five stars? I want to tell you the number of reputable professional and the owner of this company made a Sunday visit to sell me windows. One. The windows are pieces of shit. A cold wknd come and I can feel it. Two. When I moved into my condo in 2008, I purchased expensive wood, nice blinds on my windows. The owner of this company, who will answer your call upon first call, told me that my blinds would be fine to rehang it would not be a problem. When the windows were installed, my blinds did not fit. I contacted both the guy that the owner pawned off on me as well the owner and got no response at all. However, when the actual installation came my blinds of cost more than the windows self could not be rehung. When I contacted this owner he has yet to contact me back and I hope that he reads this yelp review and contact me because I think it's bullshit. Do not trust this man. read more

Full disclosure: I originally wrote this review on Angie's List but it was deleted by their staff after using their complaint resolution process. Since I can't put the review back up on Angie's List (per their TOS), I'm listing it here for visibility. I called John to replace one bathroom window. He arrived (late, which would be a common theme) with the paperwork and I paid him a deposit of $860 for 1 window + casement. He stated I would be contacted when someone would be available to measure. Several weeks later I still had not heard from John about the measurement. So I called and asked about it and he said he would do it himself. He came later that week and did the measurement. He then told me it would take a couple weeks for the window to arrive at which point someone would call and schedule the installation. Again, no one ever called. So after several weeks, I called John again to find out what was going on now that it was close to 2 months after I paid the deposit and signed the paperwork. John said he had the window and scheduled a time for the installers to do the job. I took a day off to accommodate the installers who showed up on time in a plain white truck. The installer spoke very little English. I showed him the window and after checking the sizing said that he couldn't install the window because the one that was ordered was too small to fit. He also said he couldn't put the casement in but couldn't explain why. He then made a phone call and, without saying anything else to me, left. I assumed John would call me back once he found out about the issue. But after 2 weeks John hadn't even called. So again, I had to chase down John by phone and ask about the installation issues. He stated it was his fault that the measurement was wrong and that he had ordered the correct size based on the installer's measurements. The window would be in the following week. I asked about the installer not being able to put in the casement, but he had no idea what I was talking about. He said he would call the installer and find out what was going on then call me back. But he never did. I decided I was tired of always having to chase down John so I waited. 4 WEEKS LATER, still no phone call. So I used Angie's List's complaint resolution to get my deposit back. Unfortunately, I was unaware that using that service means Angie's List will delete the negative review and only allow a positive review with a grade of A or B to be put up in its place. I'm sure the fact that Best Windows pays Angie's List for advertising services helps as well. In any case, I did get my money back. I don't recommend Best Windows unless you're extremely flexible on your timetable and don't mind having to do all the legwork to get the job scheduled and done because John won't do it. Also expect that if there are issues not to be able to communicate with the installers which can add additional delays. read more

They haggled with us knocking literally a couple thousand dollars off of a five window job. Ridiculous. Have an update: The owner contacted me shortly after I wrote this review to follow up on not having the window installed like I wanted. He indicated the windows are flexible so that you can change the configuration of them. He offered to come by to show me how to reconfigure the window and flip the screen to the side I wanted. He also showed me how to remove the windows so that I can clean them. Thought this was nice of him. After using the windows for a few weeks now, I've noticed a significant change. Before room would drop 5 degrees due to the draft. Most if not all of the draft is gone. I also hear less noise from outside. read more

The windows we got installed last week are beautiful! We had original windows, circa 1929, that were just miserable. Old, cracked, drafty metal windows that wouldn't even open. I heard of John from a friend that got all of his windows replaced through John and had nothing but positive reviews. John came by to give us a quote and the price was so much lower than the pushy, corporate window companies. We basically went with the same style windows but very much upgraded, plus a bay window. After we ordered them, they were ready to be installed a few weeks later. The guys came out early and got right to work, and worked hard, non-stop. Very courteous and pretty clean. They got all the windows installed by about 5pm, which was really impressive considering what a pain in the ass it is to remove old metal windows that are built into the brick. They were also very meticulous with the installation of the bay window, which looks amazing (Igor is the man!). Every neighbor on the block is stopping by to tell us how great they look, especially the bay. Even random passerby's are complimenting us! John came by a few days later to make sure everything was okay, My adorable but mischievous puppy made a tiny hole in one of the casement screens. John offered to give me another screen for free! I called John on short notice about getting an estimate on my windows and he came the same day. He was very punctual and knew everything he could about his windows. He brought beautiful. displays to show everything he offered, he even recommanded someone who could do custom blinds for me. On the day of instllation his team came on time to install my beatitual windows they were more lovely in person then what I would imagined. John recommended etched glass and I went with his idea also the number of panel I wanted. I knew I wanted bow but he helped my completely express my ides of what I wanted.
