All I wanted was a quote. We already researched Feldco and didn't need his speech. Wanted to know when "the man of the house" would be home. He works 16 hours a day so never. Then he said four weeks for installation. Sale Rep obviously doesn't like dealing with women and I'm the one you need to sell too because my honey will take my word. Wanted a contract and deposit signed before he even looked at both projects. Pass. read more

They solicited for new vinyl siding for my garage. However, Feldco never showed up for the estimate walkthrough appointment. No phone call. Beware very unprofessional. read more

I had very bad experience with them. First of all they are very expensive. I ordered a 8 foot patio door with them for witch they were asking 4500 $. I was not going to pay that much and they dropped the price down to 3300, which is still a lot but I thought at the time that it was a bargain. I ordered the door on November the 8. and Im still waiting. Its been 2 months now and they told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks. read more

Asked for a quote, they came to the house and quoted over $30,000 to replace siding. I told them I was getting other quotes. The manager called two days later and told me they'd decided to do the work for the wholesale price....$22,000. I told them I was looking at other vendors. Got other vendor's quotes, $14,000 average. I hired someone else. Feldco keeps calling, even though I have asked them not to. I finally blocked their number. read more

Terrible. We have a bedroom window that drips like a faucet whenever there is a downpour. Soaks everything. Has ruined the paint on the wall beneath the window and the window sill. After repeated calls they apparently can't fix it. Last guy who came out said he knew what the problem was and would contact us. Never did. Our old windows never leaked. Spend a little more and go elsewhere. read more

First of all these reviews are all fake. When we schedule an estemates they canceled 2 hours before they were suppose to be there with the lame excuse that the sales person has no car! We rescheduled and the sales guy Greg showed up. He promised us as installation by the third week of November , maybe due to the holidays first week in December. That didn't happen. After at least 5 phone calls, to him and promises that he will talk to his supervisor and call us back which he never did of course. After that we turn to main number for help. We called every day and the same thing supervisor will call you back. Never got a call back. Finally, we had no other choice but to talk to our credit card company and stop the transaction , feldco left a message that someone would call us and of course never did .We were gonna use them for 2 patio door and 3 windows but after this will never ever again use Feldco and their services .Also they are very unprofessional from sells person to management and very rude when you tried to get to talk to someone. It felt like they're doing you a favor. read more

Got an e-mail requesting to provide feedback from my experience but after I wrote on the website, they took it down. LOL! My installation appointment was made for 10am-1pm. I got home at 9:45am to my front door wide open and 2 old windows already taken off. No phone call and no permission to begin the job without me. When I asked the workers how the front door was unlocked, they told me they found it like that. I thought hey this is a good company, I trust if they tell me they didn't open the door. So I called 911 before entering my house, worried that an intruder might be inside. The police came and interviewed the workers. They told the police officer that they did not open the door. Later, I checked my Ring cameras, and sure enough I found video proof of the workers removing a window, going inside my home, and opening my front door WITHOUT ME HOME and LYING TO BOTH ME AND THE POLICE OFFICER. When I called the company to let them know, nothing was done. Feldco, I am extremely disappointed in you. This experience was a homeowner NIGHTMARE. read more

Run, dont walk. Our experience with Feldco was an absolute nightmare from the initial consultation. It started with the sales rep completely blowing us off on the initial meet. Apparently she didnt even call in to Feldco she just disappeared. We were on a time crunch due to a fire and had to get the siding up immediately so we were dumb enough to reschedule and meet with them even though we wasted a half a day waiting for them the first time. The rep that came was great, truly no complaints with him he put forth extra effort the entire time. He gave a great presentation and showed up how the insulation was embedded into the siding so that there wasnt any flex if pushed on. Additionally the corners were to have molded insulation to further reinforce and insulate. The sales rep reviewed the siding, took measurement and took the order. He noted that there were multiple layers of siding and put on the order that they were to be removed. Another rep came out to do a final measurement, again noting the multiple layers of siding had to be removed and tack strips installed to build out to the windows and avoid nails going through to the unfinished interior stairwell. Fast forward three months, dozens of phone calls from us asking for an update we get an install date. Mind you it's now fall and cold and rainy, not the warm and sunny early summer when it was supposed to be. They ask me to be there to meet the contractors, I take another day off of work and meet the crew of 2. They arrive and start unloading material and tools in my yard. As they do this say it's too big of a job for just the two of them and the dumpster hasn't arrived. They say they are going to make a call and about the dumpster and get started. An hour later they leave without telling me and leaving all of the material in the yard. I call in and ask what happened, I'm told the dumpster didnt get delivered that its scheduled for tomorrow (mind you I have the city permit in hand for it and the delivery information stating they will be there that day) the next day they arrive again and now are saying they need to leave the old siding up as it is needed for structural support and that they need to order longer nails and will start in a day or two. I explain that is a load of bs. It's an enclosed porch, the siding is an after thought and not original it's not support. Then they change it to no need to remove the waving and lose siding they can fix it and it will be faster. At this point it's now a week past initial install and around 4 months after the order and I have a hole in the side of the building from a fire so I say go ahead whatever. The same two idiots that left the crap in my yard and said it was too big of a job for two people start the install. As they start I see they are laying sheets of insulation on the side and that it's not formed into the siding like I was told and shown it would be. They also start driving massive nails through which come into the unfinished stairwell and create sharp hazards for the children and dogs in the building. Sure enough one of the dogs got cut and I had to pay for stitches and them some to a tenant so not to get sued. Ultimately they rescheduled the install 3 times and I had to take nearly a week off of work. A few weeks after the project is done they want to schedule a post install checking for the warranty. At this point it's the week of Thanksgiving and they want to schedule for the following Monday or Tuesday....again expecting me to take time off to walk the property with them. The left hand doesnt talk to the right, their promises and appointments are meaningless, they will pull a switch of product on you and charge you for work (siding removal and the dumpster) and then come up with multiple bogus excuses to do the fast/cheap idiot way to save a few bucks. The professionalism and "guarantees" you're paying for is bogus. Nearly 6 months to get siding installed, old siding I paid to have removed is still up, I have an inferior product I didnt want on the building and spend countless hours on hold, multiple vacation days wasted and wavy siding because they didnt want to remove the old siding. read more

Although the salesman was good and low pressure and the installation team showed up on time and were professional, once they have your money they don't care. We noticed an issue the evening our doors were installed. Repeated phone calls have only resulted in being disconnect while being transferred (multiple times), missed appointments, no return calls, and lies being told to us. read more

I had a pretty decent experience with Feldco despite some of the reviews I've read on here. The original crank out windows installed at my house were very cheap and the cranks were broken on more than one. I had Feldco and Anderson both come out and quote prices. Anderson was by far more expensive...by several thousand dollars! I was shocked. I went with Feldco, and their measure techs came out the next week and took the exact measurements to install my custom built windows. It took about three weeks for them to be manufactured. Once they were ready to go, two installers came out. It took them about a full days work to install 6 windows. They were friendly and considerate and did a mostly good job of cleaning up after themselves. The only problem we had with that was two glass block windows we had removed. It's a very messy process to remove the glass block windows, because basically they take hammers and smash them out. Some of the shards ended up over the fence on the neighbors yard and we're overlooked, causing the neighbors to complain to us. The other problem was some damage. We had some minor drywall damage, and also two of our wooden floor registers has some of their slats broken out. Feldco sent someone out to repair the damage and install new registers for us. I was happy they owned their damage. Overall a good value to be had with this company, though not a seamless project. read more

Awaiting our install next week. Will update as soon as they're finished. I definitely have a few things to say about their company and the sales rep "manager" that supposedly looks like RYAN Reynolds . Fingers crossed that the install goes smooth as I'll be here all day with an infant who won't obviously be able to nap the whole time. Praying all goes well and it's worth the money. Update: 4months later The windows look nice. They are keeping the cold weather out and no leaking as of yet. I really can't complain about the windows themselves. So, we called them. They sent out a sales guy. He talked up how great the windows are (which they are) then didn't allow us to think things over, we had to decide then or lose the deal and have to wait "months" for an install. His attitude changed from nice guy to aggressive attitude. I should have held out more. Maybe we would have gotten a better price. Anyway, we got bullied into doing then immediately, which I'm sort of happy about, because our electric bill went down $20 that first month. So, the install. They did all of our windows except the garage in one day. They came out early and left before the sun went down. 20 windows. 2 guys. Oh, also, They told us they were sending their biggest crew to get it done. Yeah, they always send two guys so don't believe that bs. We had a few windows that the frames were rotting out. They tell you they'll fix anything like that, because that way they can guarantee they're windows. They did not fix them until I pointed it out. So, follow them around. Make sure they are paying attention. They're subcontracted and want to get in and out. They're not actual Feldco employees. I looked around at the windows, they looked good. I signed off. They were going to come back and do the garage another day. They immediately had the finance company call and tell us they were going to begin charging us. Um, No....you're not. They're not even done. I'm not paying until the job is done. So, Feldco calls and asks why we said that since I signed off on the job. They "forgot" about the garage. We also found that one of the welds on the crank windows wasn't finished. You could see the sun coming through the crack. We sent them pictures and they assured us they would come to fix it ASAP. They came and did the garage and brought the replacement window. It was the wrong side. It could not be replaced yet. Again, they tried to get me to sign off and I refused. They also tried to get me to give them money. The entire amount was financed, so I have no idea what that was about, but I refused to pay. Again, the finance company called and we told them they were still not done. Finally, a different crew (2 guys) came and replaced the window. It was done nicely and works well. Just so you know, they do put in quarter round and pieces of naked wood you'll need to stain yourself. The windows are pretty great, but get full screens if you can. It sucks that you can't open the top of the windows without leaving an opening for bugs. Long story short.... great windows not so great service. read more

I needed a new garage window and turned to the company that I was very familiar with from their TV ads. I was very happy with the experience from start to finish. The salesman was knowledgable both about the product and delivery/installation. It came when expected and was installed in a matter of hours. The crew was courteous and made sure that they cleaned up after installing the window. Would recommend to my friends and neighbors! read more

i should have known better when I first signed the contract and the sale rep came back a few days later and said he made a mistake and should have charged us $500 more. I told him no and that I was going to hold him to the contract. We had windows and siding installed. The siding didn't even last one year before it started coming off the house. Feldco blamed it on poor installers and promised to replace. After going back and forth for a few months, the new installers showed up and replaced the siding. The new siding lasted about two months and started to bow. I contacted Feldco, starting back in May 2019, well it's October 2019 and we are still waiting. I've been promised call backs on a daily basis, only got two. I was promised on site visits and when they did show up I was told it would be repaired in a week or so. Well, we are still waiting. The only reason I gave them one star is because there was no option for 1/2 star and the only reason they qualify for 1/2 star is because the people that answer the phone apologize for the lack of service, but, can do nothing about it. read more

I agree, their service is terrible. I bought 10 windows that I never had any problems with. I few years later, I bought a door from Feldco and soon after, the paint was chipping off. When I called them, they said the company was bought out and didn't really know how they could help me. They gave me the runaround until I gave up. When I called them again because the deadbolt broke (which was drilled wrong when they installed the door), I was told that they charged $49.99 to come out and assess the problem. Then the fun began with them finding every reason to not fix the bolt or address the terrible quality of the paint on the door. The warranty on the door meant nothing to them. The door looks horrible. It's faded and now chipped even more, and I'm so embarrassed by the way it looks. I regret buying a door from Feldco. I spent $1,300 on a door that looks like I bought it used at a garage sale. I would have had better quality at a Lowes or Home Depot. I get so angry every time I see a Feldco commercial. I would never refer anybody to them. Save your money, people, and don't think you're doing better be cause you're spending more. read more

My wife and I hired Feldco to replace all of our windows on the lower level with the thought that if they did a good job and we liked the windows we would hire them the following year to install the windows on the second level. We thought they did a good job and liked the windows. So, we hired them again and planed to hire them the third year to replace two doors. After that we were going to have them replace a few speciality windows the following year. However, they did such a poor job on the front door we had to have them out twice to fix it. They eventually did but their customer service was so awful we told them to forget installing the speciality windows. They could care less and went on to their next sale. Now I tell my friends that I wouldn't hire them to put in windows in my doghouse. read more

I think Feldco windows are good and liked the installation, but the post installation service stinks. We had our windows installed on 9/5/19 and the installers arrived without the screens for our windows. I promptly called Feldco on this and they said that they had 4 of my six screens still sitting in their warehouse. Someone promptly came out the same day with 4 of the missing screens and said that they would order the other ones the next day and should have them in by 9/13/19. We waited patiently to hear back from them and then we started contacting them after 9/20/19. My wife contacted the salesman after that and I called up their customer delight (spite) number after that. The response has been overwhelmingly silent. Each time I have called I have been promised a call back with-in 24 hours (never happened). I have called over four times now regarding my missing screens and have also emailed my salesman.....radio silence on all fronts. Their windows may be great but their customer service post-installation seems to be non-existent. Feldco spends a lot of money on advertising telling you how great they are, but I wish I had spent more money going with somebody who would have been responsive to problems. We were going to use them for our patio door and front door next year, but we'll probably go with someone else, based on the post-installation lack of concern we have experienced. Feldo should remember that satisfied customers will tell 5-10 people about their experience, but dissatisfied ones will tell anyone who will listen. Just wish their hype was as good as their delivery. read more

The saga for replacing my exterior and storm doors began in August. A friend had recently had her doors and a few windowns replaced and recommended Felco, so I placed an inquiry. My sales rep, Pete M., came out, gave a lengthy presentation and rather high stakes sales push and, after a week's time and additional quotes from other installers, I decided to proceed with Feldco. I was told the process would take 6-8 weeks from start to finish, and that another gentleman would come out to take more precise measurements a few weeks later, which proceeded as planned. Now for the unexpected: the installer called, seeking an appointment well in advance of the aforementioned 6-8 week timeframe. This would normally be a cause for celebration, however I previously arranged 2 work trips planned well in advance that did not permit the early installation. On top of that, I planned to host out of town guests the following weekend. Inopportune, this early install attempt. At this point, my dealings with Feldco were now extending from September into October and, wanting to be done with the process, I set up an appointment for this Saturday, October 17th between 10AM and 12PM. I received a phone call from Feldco at 8:00AM, cancelling the appointment. Apparently, one of their installers called in sick and, as they're running low on installers, they needed to reschedule. Unacceptable, as I cleared my schedule for the install, missing my alma mater's homecoming and tickets to the Notre Dame vs. Northwestern game that I'm currently trying to re-obtain. The curt woman on the phone suggested 10AM Tuesday which, like any working stiff, I promptly rejected. How could I pay $3K+ for 2 doors if I were randomly available and at home on a midmorning Tuesday?! I cleared my schedule today at social and financial expense; not as easy a feat during the work week - in fact, it'd be an inconvenience. Not to be believed, the inconveniences kept coming: I was told that there were no weekend appointments available the following weekend; no special concession or appointment availability offered for the inconvenience and complete disregard for my time, and the latest weekday appointment time is 2PM. Also, it's important to note that my friend that referred me to Feldco has yet to receive the $100 referral as advertised. The doors have not yet been installed, however I feel like I've experienced enough customer "service" to complete the customer satisfaction survey. read more

I am extremely unhappy with this company. After dealing with the salesman that came out to my house in person and on the phone, I feel that I was not treated properly. I feel like somebody tried to take advantage of me and see how much money they could get from me rather than quote me a price for the job. At my original consultation I asked for an email to be sent to me with the price. A week later I asked for it to be sent again. I then had to email again asking where the quote was. I then received two phone calls from the salesman telling me it was hard to quote me the price. I find this extremely hard to understand. The price should be very simple minus any incentives that are currently going on. Unfortunately, when I am ready to make a purchase I will not be using this business!! read more

If I could give Feldco 0 star I would. We had all our windows replaced by them then the following year we had 4 exterior doors replaced by them. Now 4 years later, just about all our windows do not lock and we've had about 6 visits to fix our doors. By fix I mean the doors dont close or lock. The paint start peeling on our new front door, the rod iron storm door had a piece that broke off, these are freaking doors they open and close thats the use that they get and they cant hold up to that? The hardware knobs and locks have all stopped working at one point or another. You can find better hardware at bargain bin at Menards than what these guys use. The window installers didnt even caulk our inside window trim so we had drafts coming in from the new windows. Our house is a 1950s brick house, the house is still settling 60 years later? The repair guys just keep coming and coming to fix our doors, the problem is that they do it 9-5 hours and they're now closed I have to sleep with a door that doesnt lock, thank God I have 2 big dogs. I really wish I never used Feldco, their product and installers are pure crap. The cost for the doors I could have gotten the top of the line doors on the market and had real professional installers put the doors in. Dont get burned by these guys find someone else to use. Follow up: Our last service call was placed because we couldnt close our back door. They told us (over a month later after the call) it would cost us $100+ for labor to rehang the one door in back. This is a door that they have come out and re-adjusted at least 3 times. I guess they're getting tired of doing their warranty work for us. I told them not to bother coming out we will be getting a professional company to re-install the door. read more

I am extremely unsatisfied with every part of my experience with Feldco. We had over 20 windows and frames replaced in our new house. The window were original to the house, so the frames also had to be replaced. From the moment they started the work, I had complaints. They began to install the window flush with the wall, so that there was not any window sill, although a sill was agreed upon with the sales rep, the frames did not line up in the corners and they left a mess of cracked plaster and wood around the rest of the wall around the new frame. It was a mess. They have come back 3 times and replaced the frames, because it was not done correctly the first time. They have wasted my time and theirs. The window and the frames are still drafty and the frames on 5 of the windows still look horrible even after I have repaired and stained them myself. It continues to be a mess and I would not recommend using this company. read more

We have had our entire first floor of windows replaced by Feldco a few years ago, so 8 in total. When we were in need of replacement windows upstairs and a new front door, we called Feldco because of our positive experience. This time around was completely different. First our in home estimate was rescheduled twice, pushing the appointment back by ten days. We had a different salesman come in than the one we requested and was confirmed for our appointment. We signed the contract on April 4 and up until last week, May 15, we were still told that both the master bedroom window and door were not ready for installation, with the front door still being made. At this point I had been calling our salesman at least every week. The last time we spoke I told him how frustrating the experience had been. He told me he would get back to me and then, ten minutes later, the installation department called to schedule an install for that next Thursday. Our window had popped out of the frame at this point so I said it had to be done Monday. I was surprised at how much back and forth there was between myself and the installation department but they did schedule it for Monday between 8-10. The installation guy got here at 8:40. It is only one person for an oversized window on a second story. It took him three hours to install. I am giving 3 stars because the product looks nice, the job is complete and our salesman is very helpful. Still waiting on front door. read more

The frame of the screen door on our sliding patio door fell apart. They won't replace it unless I pay a $69 trip fee, plus $85/ hour labor. Hard to justify the cost for a replacement screen door that costs $60 at Home Depot. The kicker is that the feldco door has a unique track so a standard replacement door doesn't fit. I think I would rather replace the whole damn patio door than give feldco any more of my money! read more

Make them your last call if you're looking for quotes. They will only honor their offer when they're on site, same-day. If you want multiple quotes, schedule Feldco last. If you're not ready to buy, don't call them at all. Our windows turned out great. We were very happy with the product and the install. The sales experience was terrible, fouled up an otherwise 5 star experience. Measuring guy was great. Installers and product was great. The way they work is that they only honor their price while they're sitting there, same day. Call it something like a green bonus. If they leave, the price goes up something like $700 to $1000 dollars. The explanation was that it takes more time and money for the sales rep to come back. Couldn't explain why with digital measurements in their system they'd need to come back, not take a credit card via phone. We scheduled 3 quotes, Feldco was the first as we knew people that were pleased with them. We both work and are busy, and didn't have time to research windows. Only took 5 minutes to measure all the windows and give us a quote. This after an hour at the dining room table with a fussy baby (ours not the salesman) hearing about how they drug test and how we were not serious buyers (since we don't have an expectation of cost, and were looking at multiple quotes...), how we were wasting his time, and being explained the virtue of buying same day. I'm sure all the similar companies have similar pricing. The initial quality on the windows is good. Like their guarantee. Honestly chose them just out of exhaustion and the thought of three similar sales pitches. Turned out well. Installers were awesome. Worked fantastically quick and were thorough. read more

Feldco windows are fine and we are happy with the overall product as advertised. We purchased half the windows for our home a few years ago and the remainder this year. When the sales person came to our house this year he told us there would be a $30 per window opening surcharge for lead abatement. While we did negotiate the overall cost down somewhat it inflated the salesperson initial estimate. When the day of the installation arrived the lead abatement consisted of putting up a heavy plastic sheet in front of the windows and doing the window installation. I assume this means they are compliant but who knows. Regardless the additional time added to the job was less than 2 minutes per window so the cost of the surcharge does not align with the additional work. Shouldn't they do this regardless to keep all dust from landing on your floors and furniture? The lead abatement surcharge is a joke. My recommendation is to tell Feldco that you are not going to pay the surcharge as soon as its mentioned and strongly negotiate the overall price. They have flexibility in cost. read more

Feldco is ran by a bunch of crooks. The installers only get paid 60 a window and so they feel the pressure to rush the job and the employees are treated poorly as well. We had 7 windows replaced 3 years ago and they all stink like mold. We have mold in our walks from the faulty window jams not draining water, due to the warping plastic jams. The crappy caulking job they did barely lasted a year which is also contributing to the mold. Then last year we ordered special air conditioner windows last year in which they installed haphazardly not to mention the wrong ones were ordered at first. It took them 3 months to come out with the correct sashes. Now we have a full large window pane that has a chamber leak and is forging up on the inside. We've been calling Feldco and Jim Haffer our contact for months with no call back. The entire job Feldco was awarded as a whole for our building was over a 100 windows and you would think they would support them at that size of a job. Buyer beware with this company as they are not out to serve just out to push product out the door and then leave the customer hanging. read more

I recently had new doors installed. While the installation was mostly great, the customer service has been terrible. Doors were originally to be installed early January, but the installers came out and stated the doors we made too big and that someone would contact me on Monday to go over what was to take place. Never received a call on Monday. I called that Tuesday and left a message and also sent an email. Never received a callback or email. I called again on Wednesday and a receptionist stated they were working on it and would call back that afternoon. Did not receive a callback that afternoon so I called myself with no answer so I left a message. I finally received a callback on Thursday (4 business days after install was scheduled). They were to send out a tech to remeasure the doors to see if what was made would work. The tech got the same measurements and I was told they would reschedule the installation with the same doors with some more experienced installers. This did not sit right with me, but Feldco assured me that the doors would work. The installation was scheduled for a month later. A MONTH LATER. This is unacceptable in my mind. Feldco caused an issue and did not try to resolve the issue quickly. I also asked to speak to someone who would be able to provide a reduction in the price since this was a Feldco issue and I had to plan around their schedule for a second time. After the installation was complete, I noticed that the color of one of my doors was not correct and that the installers did not correctly install the trim on the other door. I emailed Feldco and have not received a callback or email follow up. Due to the terrible customer service, I would never recommend Feldco to another person. read more

Ok, I have to disagree with the majority on this one. My landlord just put new windows in our building. He used Feldco, obviously. We have 8 new windows. Everyone I dealt with was awesome. From what I understand they are also very affordable for replacement windows. One last thing, no more DRAFTS! read more

Approximately 7 years ago we had Felco windows installed on our home. It was a very good experience and we have been pleased with the product...until recently when one of the windows would no longer stay up when opened. I called and requested a service call and was informed that it would cost $49 and that the technician could probably fix it while he was there. He came and assessed that the balancers needed to be replaced, but didn't have the correct size with him because he had not been informed what size windows we had. He subsequently needed to schedule another service call for the following week. When that technician came he fixed the window in approximately 15 minutes and then informed me that I owed $85 for labor on top of the $49 I had already paid for the first visit. I was not expecting this. Afterwards I called Feldco and expressed my dissatisfaction with the process, and particularly with having to pay $134 for this simple repair. He was very kind and apologetic about it, and promised that he would pass this info on to the appropriate people so that the experience for future customers would be better. He also reminded me about the terms of the Limited Lifetime Warranty. I subsequently went online to read it. It states--"There will be no labor fees on all warranty related work for a period of five (5) years from the date of original installation. Once this period has expired, Feldco may assess a labor charge." The last line should read--"Feldco WILL assess a labor charge (and they may not tell you about it until after their second visit)." Consequently, I can only give Felco a "Meh. I've experienced better" review, but that will drop even further if another window malfunctions anytime soon. Had the guy on the phone provided a refund of any kind on the repair I just dropped $134 for, I would have been satisfied enough to not write this review, but I think it's important for future customers to know what kind of service and costs to expect if anything goes wrong with a window after the 5 year "lifetime" warranty expires. UPDATE SINCE ORIGINAL POST: Following my original post I was kindly and promptly contacted by a representive at Feldco who rectified the matter in a very appropropriate manner, and for that I changed my rating from 2 stars to 3. Had the representative I spoke to the first time did just that, I would have given them 4 stars. read more

SO IRRITATED WITH FELDCO. I signed the contract in July, weeks later some guy comes for measurements and specifically says that my village hassles them if they don't measure the window size stud to stud. With that being said he then asked me if he could break in between the window to measure stud to stud. He does. Then weeks later, when they finally get our installation date ( which we called for) THEY FAIL INSPECTION FOR NOT MEASURING STUD TO STUD. They came around 7am and stayed til 8pm on a Friday ( which I had to take off work for) They did not finish my inside trim or outside. THEN as the guys are leaving I ask them well when are you coming back to finish? They told me that I have to keep calling feldco or else nothing will be done. They also mention that the windows were done and that they were water proof and blah blah blah that I should be fine til when they come to finish. Again, they were WRONG water has gotten in and now we have to deal with it while feldco Sits with our money. I have called 5 times since August 31st asking to speak to our rep. Haven't heard a word. Finally got an installation date for tomorrow. Guess who has to take off work again for their screw up..ME. I Sent Matt L. (Our sales rep) an email this morning..not a word back or even an apology. At this point the remaining 50% owed is looking like I'm only gonna give 10% . At this point I don't trust them nor do I want to continue my business with them. PLEASE FELDCO HELP ME OUT! IM A PAYING CUSTOMER!! THIS IS HORRIBLE SERVICE !!! I BOUGHT 12 windows and this is how I am repaid?!!? read more

My parents (both seniors) had all the windows for the first floor installed by Feldco several years ago. After the first year, while cleaning the windows, they discovered that none of the windows actually lock. They called to have them looked at, which was done for free, and the serviceman claimed they were locked when he left - but they weren't - he just flipped the sliders the other direction. It's not like they fall down or anything, and it was such a hassle to get them out the first time, we let it go. Not the end of the world, until two years ago, we noticed the kitchen window had slid down out of alignment and had an inch gap at the top. The whole panel is offline and it won't close let alone lock. We sealed over the whole window for last winter to keep the cold wind out, and called this week to have it fixed pre this year's winter storms. We were told that although the "parts" have a lifetime warranty it will cost $49 up front, over the phone, to schedule someone to come out, and then $89 after the visit for the labor. If there are parts that need replacing, the parts are free, but we will have to pay for labor and service if that's the case. I tried calling both our local service department as well as the customer service line who are not helpful at all when I mention that the issue is not with a part, but with the way they were installed, given the locks don't align and now one of our windows won't even close. Each time I was told that they are more than happy to send someone out to look at it...as long as I will give them my credit card to pay up front. I could understand the fee if there was honestly something wrong with "a part," but the thousands of dollars spent on installation should cover the not-installed-correctly part. Given the poor customer service handling over the phone, we looked them up on Better Business Bureau to sadly see that they spent thousands of dollars on replacement windows with a company that has an F rating with the BBB for bad products and service, among other things including bate and switch claims (http://www.bbb.org/chicago/business-reviews/windows-installation-and-service/feldco-in-des-plaines-il-21034). So disheartened to see that my parents were (and are still) being taken advantage of in this way by a company that has billboards, ads and signs plastered all over the Chicagoland area. This was a pricey installation for two retirees who were just looking for a simple window installation that they wouldn't have to still be paying for in service and repairs. I am not sure how to resolve this situation other than paying more money for someone to come out and do another poor-quality service repair on a window that wasn't installed properly in the first place. Do your research first folks. read more

Had 5 windows installed by Feldco last week. The sales person I worked with was Tanner. He was extremely informative and explained the entire process to me. The installer was amazing. He was efficient and my windows look wonderful. read more

I called to get an estimate for a screen/storm door and install. Because my husband and I BOTH couldn't be available at the same time for a consultation, Feldco wouldn't send someone out for an estimate. (My husband works M-F 7am-7pm and I work nights and weekends. ) They wouldn't even send someone out to do measurements, because we BOTH wouldn't be at home. Needless to say, I never got our door. read more

Ok - I'll start at the beginning... oh, and it's still ongoing. Had Feldco come out last summer to install windows. The two guys were on time & did ok. One did comment that it was hard to get the new products in flush & level. I understand that, because the home does settle and isn't always build perfectly. One week later, I'm calling in an inspection follow up because there is water backing up into the window. It turns out the installers, who are contracted out, caulked over the weep/drains. Easy fix, right? Then the seasons changed - and my sons' bedrooms were freezing cold. I called, and another inspector comes out. He explained to me that I had to lock the windows to seal them or air will pass through the middle sash on sliding windows. I was dumbstruck. That was definitely not explained! I would not have spent money on windows that are essentially open when not locked... my kids will sleep with them ajar, close them during the day, but the the upstairs is cold because of the products design - why is that intentional? My 12 year old says to the man, "So we paid $800 per window that don't seal up the house?" Then after the inspection, he also confirms that 4 out of the 5 windows are installed crooked and need to be replaced. I'll update the review once that is done. read more

I have recent experience that Feldco's product is shotty, their installation is shotty and they don't stand by their product. My mother had a storm door installed in December. At the beginning of April the storm door was ripped to shreads during a storm (we think-no one saw it happen). They told me they don't repair their product if damage happened from an act of God. The door should hold up longer than 4 months and it's not called a "good weather door". Even funnier, now that I'm looking for a different company to install a new door, I found this quote on a competitor's (Mr. Handyman) website: "Proper storm door installation prevents many of the common problems that raise your heating and cooling costs. These storm doors help prevent cool drafts in the winter, as well as protect your exterior door from damaging storm winds." Feldco clearly did not properly install their product and they don't stand by their product. Their inspector arrived late. They don't care about word of mouth - guess they figure they spend enough money on local advertising. Please never use this company. read more
