Windows seem fine & price was good. However, one of the screens had a hole in it and after at least 6 calls, is still not replaced. They made 2 appointments to replace it and never showed up. The sliding patio door does not latch smoothly. I showed this to the installer, who didn't care. The installers removed and threw away an alarm sensor we had to replace at our expense. They left a mess behind that the door install crew refused to clean up. read more

We were lied to multiple times during the sales pitch. First, we were told Feldco only uses top quality installers. When the installers showed up, they said they have NEVER installed windows before. The project manager came out and showed them how to do it, but the inside of our house, the trim, was left damaged. We have tried to get Feldco to resolve the issues and even asked them to just come get their windows so we can start fresh with a new company. Once they have your money, they don't care about anything else. We will be having our windows replaced again. read more

We had windows installed in my mother's home about 3 months ago from Feldco the salesman did a great job presenting his windows the windows looked great but then as soon as they were installed it seems like it all stopped no one ever came to examine the Windows installation two of the windows need to be adjusted and one needs to be completely reinstalled it will not lock... My mother is 82 years old how is she supposed to test the windows to make sure that they slide properly and lock properly... now in all fairness they say they are going to come out and adjust the windows and reinstall the window sashes that will not lock... But this was not until we called and complained... What a way to do business ... have things installed and not send anyone out to inspect the installation... Come on it is your name on the line.... read more

If I could give half a star I would. I spent over $10,000 on windows in my entire home. Within less than a year a large crack about 10 inches long on one of the inside windows appeared coming from the corner inside the frame. The windows are under warranty so they made a new one to replace it which is where the trouble has begun. It's been about two months now and it still isn't installed. On multiple occasions Feldco has contacted me 2 hours prior to the scheduled installation appointment to cancel. The first time no reason was given, just that their crew couldn't make it. So I rescheduled but they couldn't make it for another 3 weeks. Then they called and said because of weather they wouldn't make this appointment either. It's an INSIDE WINDOW. It would take all of 10 minutes to remove and replace with the new one. Weather wouldn't be an issue except the walk from my driveway to the window, so that 15 feet must have been too much for their "professional installation crews". Absolutely unacceptable service from them. Or lack thereof to be accurate. After spending a large amount of money on their product they basically put you on the back burner. I'll never use them again and will advise anyone considering windows to look elsewhere. read more

Not a good company selection for home improvement or employment. Their sale advertisements are not True as they bump up fees on the job on the backend ensuring they still get all of their profits. Terrible selection for employment as well when their HR manager SF, treats employees with a Condescending style of employee support. Do not recommend this place. Guy came up to my 3rd floor condo and stated " this is actually a 4th floor because there's a garden unit and we don't service places that are above 3 floors." Understandable. Got excessive calls prior to the visit to confirm and no one explained this would be an issue. Waste of time. I'm not surprised at the wide range of reviews. When you spend this much on a door or Windows, you expect a lot in return, and sometimes people's expectations don't meet reality. We had our entire home's Windows replaced in 2006 by Felco at a cost of almost $9k. They are still perfectly fine and they even replaced a screen free of charge after an attempted break in. Most recently, we had our front door replaced. While the cost was more than I wanted to spend, I love the finished product and the sale, measurement and install were painless and all done within a month! I'd use them again for sure. read more

Feldco - Feldco did a GREAT job on my doors, Thanks!!! - Windows Installation Near Me - Des Plaines, Illinois

My honest and half star review was deleted off of their wedsite a few minutes after posting it, so I will post it here instead. Do Not Buy Feldco Products I had very high hopes for Feldco Products but I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Feldco, I had issues from the day of installation. If you are looking to do door replacements with them, you should reconsider. Nine months after the installation, numerous call backs, different and multiple technician appointments my door still has a huge gap (with cold air leaking through) and precipitation on the inside of the door, so much so that 4 of the 6 hinges are rusted. This is a product that isn't even a year old. Managers are never available and do NOT call you back, despite service reps saying they will. I do not want their product and want them to come remove it. read more

We just had our front door replaced by Feldco, and our experience was as good as it gets. Our positive experience started at the first moment that we were contacted by Tom, our sales rep. He suggested some standard meeting times, but when I asked if he could meet early in the morning to accomodate my work schedule, he promptly moved his schedule around to accomodate. When he arrived (on time), he rememberd our first names and politely took his shoes off before entering the house. We met at our kitchen table and custom-designed the perfect door to meet our needs. There were way more options to choose from than I expected -- maybe 9 different decision points overall. He had lots of pictures and sketches of all the options, but what really impressed me was that he also had mini-cross sections of samples for several of the doors. We knew that they would build this custom for us , but I didn't realize that it would be of such high quality -- hand made by Amish craftsmen. The samples drove that point home for us. When they called back to schedule the install, again the process was polite, easy, and efficient. The work was all done in one day, and coming home that night I never would have noticed that a fairly major construction project had happened while I was at work. They removed the old door, all debris, washed all the glass and surfaces, and even cleaned up all around our front foyer & outside stoop when they were finished. The door that they installed is much better than the one we had inherited. It fits perfectly, and was well sealed on all sides and surfaces. With our previously door, we alwasy had a draft. With the new one, I put the match test to all seams and corners, and there was no movement. It is also much heavier and feels more secure, yet it's easier for my kids to get it open because it's hung so wall. We also have a storm door for the first time, which we will really enjoy wiht our dog. That front half of the house feels warmer, brighter and more secure now. Cosmetically, we received a bunch of unsolicited compliments from our neighbors. The color and style fit our facade much better, and one friend even said that it felt like we had changed the whole front of the house. I normally don't leave those construction yard signs up for too long after a project like this, but in this case we can honestly say that we were proud to use Feldco and were happy to let our other friends know about our positive experience. read more

There is a reason the reviews are so poor. Terrible quality of work and even worse resolution from managers. They just transfer you around until you are tired and give up. Would not let this company cut my grass let alone do construction on my home again. read more

I would of given them a higher rating 3years ago... But know that we have needed service on our windows. It seems that they want to install windows then fix the problems that might occur over time or etc.. We have tried several times to have our windows fix and with cancellations on Feldco two time and with the sub-contractors that have come out and said they wont due to work because it was more work to be done then the person who schedules the job (Will). It has been over two months since they have taken my deposit to fix the windows and to this day they are still not done.. My story. Is much longer this this but I have to say that the customer service is non-existent with this company.. Truly disappointed.. Carol Service department still has not scheduled a appointment to fix the windows. It is now 12/5/2017 and this has been since 9/20/2017. So think twice about this customer service. Just an update it is January 2018 and they still have not fix my windows. They did refund the deposit that I had to put down to make the appointment. read more

The issues continue. They replaced the 1st door because it was chipping after a couple of months. Then they came out a few weeks ago because the handles on the storm door were coming off. Today after I opened the storm door I couldn't close it. For some reason the door and the frame aren't flush with each other. I'm afraid to force it shut because the glass may shatter so I have to keep my kitchen door closed; the reason I bought this storm door was so I could keep the interior door open and get sunlight and fresh air through the storm door. You can go to Home Depot, Menard's, Lowe's, etc. and get better products at lower prices. I've replaced many door during my 30 years in this house and aside from normal wear and tear I've never encountered so many issues in such a short period of time. Manager Dave keeps saying he'll get back to me for some sort of resolution but he never does. I also spoke with GM Alan F. but still nothing. DO NOT USE FELDCO. THEY ARE NOT BBB ACCREDITED AND HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Had ordered replacement doors with detailed request for the replacement and they was completely ignored. Spoke with both the sales person and the measurements guy to confirm the details and both failed to fulfill the request. Was given screen door locks different for the storm door and not able to get copies made when the locks where to use the same key. After the installation that took almost 6hours there was material and dust left in my yard. This is not what I expected since this is not my first project with Feldco for doors and I am completely appalled with customer service with this job compared to the other. I was told that someone would call me back an have yet to have any conversation other than Feldco request final payment. read more

I paid $1000 for a screen door as I thought I was working with professionals. The door is very nice, but the customer service was terrible. The initial order had the wrong hardware, the screen has a "support bar" across the middle when my salesman specifically told me it didn't, and they installed the door with the wrong closer. I contacted my sales rep who told me it would be corrected. It was not, and I'm done waiting. For $15 I am going to purchase one at Amazon and install it myself. You would think overpaying for a screen door by $700 would get you better service! read more

With a promotion for $1 installation I gave them a call. I told them that I would call back before the promo ended. I got calls constantly. Even the same day! I picked up that call and told him it had to stop or I'd block them. "Don't do THAT!". I said I wouldn't if they would take me off of their list. He said it looked like I was on it. Clearly not. He assured me it wouldn't happen again. Lo and behold, a couple of hours later I got yet a 4th call and I picked up again. It was the same gal who had be calling me incessantly. I told her that I was to be off the list, that I would never do business with them and that I would immediately block them. I hung up. I'm reporting them to the bbb. read more

After replacing all windows in our townhouse within the past 3 years at a cost of about $10K, our lower level sliding patio door handle did not work properly. It is a latch you slide up to open and down to latch. It is supposed to stay in the up position until you manually move the lever down to lock. Ours was not staying up when we closed the door in the up position and would drop to the locked position when we closed the door from the outside. Called Feldco July of 2018 and was told there would be a $99 service call or $79 if I paid now. Of course the salesman, John Shannon, went on and on about how great Feldco was about taking care of their customers when we bought them. Service guy comes out, explained the problem and he said, "I think I know what's causing the problem". He took the cover off the lock and pointed to a circular indent on the face of the lock. "See that; there is supposed to be a rubber washer in there that provides friction to keep the lever up. Looks like there was never one there when installed. He then cut a piece from a rubber sheet he brought in, put it where it was supposed to be and the door now works as it should. I called Feldco after he left and requested a return of the $79 service fee since the door was defective from installation. Went through 3 people and ended up with a supervisor, and his response was, "Well, you must have noticed there was a problem when it was installed." The door seemed ok in the beginning and progressively got worse over time until one night we got locked out on the deck. That's when I called for service. This is a company that let a customer who spent $10K with them share an extremely negative experience over a factory defect of a 10 cent part. I would steer clear of these bozos and find a reputable and reliable company for windows. They are not it. Update to July 24 review: July 25, 2018 Will from Feldco contacted me today to advise they have thought more about their position and offered to refund the $79 service fee. While my original review is still an accurate description of what happened, Feldco did come to the correct customer response within 24 hours. Customer service cannot be a one set policy for all as each situation is different. Listen to what the customer is telling you and then use common sense to resolve the issue. I appreciate how Feldco ultimately responded and wanted to add this addendum to my original review so that you can evaluate fairly if they warrant your business. read more

The windows seem to be fine but the installation process sucks. They had a $1 installation sale when I ordered my windows. But, I paid extra for full wood replacement. They didn't give me what I paid for the first time and had to send someone back to replace rotten wood. Great, until I prepared to paint the interior trim. They globbed on a rubbery caulk on the interior trim, giving it a bumpy amateurish look. That caulk needs to be removed, and replaced with material that can be sanded to a smooth finish. I can't believe I paid an extra $250 per window to get such a crappy installation. read more

Had Feldco come out and do our siding for our house. They were very good about arriving on time, the salesmen did a good job following up with us to make sure everything went as planned. They had one guy get everything done in one day and he arrived on time. They matched the siding perfectly to our existing side. I would recommend their siding services as they do a great job explaining the styles and types and why you need certain kinds depending on what part of the house it is for insullation purposes. read more

We purchased Feldco windows several years ago. I know they are out of warranty except for replacement parts. The gas has leaked out of one window and a green mold has gotten in between the panes of glass. There is green stuff growing between the glass and the frame where you cannot clean it and they told me it would be about $150 to replace it as I had to pay the service call. Plus the windows keep sliding down and I have to hold them up to lock them. I will never buy Feldco again. Bill R. read more

Horrible. Called once for an estimate. I ended up waiting on new windows and not getting estimate. They literally call me EVERY 3-5 days and pester the living shit out of me. I've told them no thank, stop calling, take me off your list. I will now have to block their number. read more

The Feldco sales person that I dealt with was frankly rude and clearly tries to take advantage of people by pressuring them into taking a "deal." So, in Sept 2019, everything started out great when Gary Kos, the Feldco sales rep, came out to give me the estimate. He measured, took a look at the windows, made some recommendations, and then showed me a cut of the inside of one of Feldco's windows to show how allegedly superior they are. When I pointed to a side garage door that I wanted replaced, he said, "Oh, our doors are too nice and expensive for that. You'd be better off going with someone else for that," which raised alarm bells for me a little as it seemed to be implying that my house isn't nice enough to have a nice garage side door, but I let it slide and said that I wanted the price anyway and that I would decide. When we went back inside, he started putting together a quote and presented it to me on the spot. He said that the price was lower because of the the Buy 1 Get 1 Special but that they could lower it even more (by $400) if I signed on the spot. I told him, "No thank you, but I am getting more quotes to compare," as anyone should when making a purchase like this. His whole demeanor changed in an instant. He got combative saying things like "Well, we offer this discount because we're very busy and we don't want to have to come out again to have you sign paperwork!" and "I've never heard of this other company that you're having come out to quote. Feldco is a billion dollar company" and generally implying that I had completely wasted his time. He said that he would give me the weekend to think about his offer and did email me the next day (Saturday) to try to offer me an additional discount if I signed right away. I asked for an itemized list of prices since he didn't leave me with any quote and he just listed out an incorrect number of windows without actually pricing out each window. He never emailed me again and I didn't email him again either. I got my windows and door changed a few weeks later by a reputable company (Greco Remodeling) and will never recommend Felco to anyone. Their price upfront was comparable to the supposed "deal" that Feldco was giving me without any stupid gimmicks like Gary was trying to pull. Thank you. read more

We had Feldco windows installed a couple of months ago and it's been a five star experience. The sales representative was outstanding and provided great details on the product, pricing, and installation process. The installation crew was tremendous. Two gentlemen replaced all twelve of our windows in one day. Their attention to detail was notable and they left us with zero mess. Finally, the product has been superb. All of our new windows work very well and look great. None of the standard obstacles with new windows have presented themselves and we're very happy. My take on Feldco is that it's a solid product with great service at a really competitive price. read more

Compared to most of these reviewers, we had an excellent experience with Kirk and the Feldco team. They were always prompt (even to the minute) and professional, and were able to get the right product to us the first time. I was impressed with the installation team as well, they were able to install our windows to a third floor walk-up, without ladders, which is a technical problem all in its own. I believe that they are able to tackle some very challenging problems efficiently and thoroughly. I look forward to recommending the team to anyone that needs windows in the future - read more

I give you 3 stars cause your product is amazing. We love our new windows they are amazing. the problems we are having with the doors is crazy. 1. the basement sliding door does not lock and it is frozen shut or something. we have a technician comingout, 2. the front door has ice on the inside of it 3. i asked for both sliding doors to be keyed the same; did not happen. I asked for the security lock; did not happen. 4. while replacing the front door it was mis measured so they ordered a new trim piece. here we are 3 months later still waiting for the new trim piece and not in yet. I emailed my salesman said "Please make sure this is ordered right:. got back one line answer "I will follow-up with this when I get to the office on Monday." It has been 7 days with no answer from the salesman. No phone call from the 800 number either :-( we have a technician coming out to look at the doors today so hopefully these issues get resolved. as far as the trim..since December 17th i was told it is being ordered; then the holiday; then they did not order the right one. I should add we had the whole house done 20K+ and the service we got we put up with cause the windows are really great quality and in the end that's what matters but UGH! Edit#1 -just got off the phone with my sales guy; everything is being taken care of; they even offered to reimburse me for the lock smith when I get them re keyed; but I told them I wanted the whole house re-keyed as this was a temporary solution. Very Very happy with the service; once everything gets resolved it will go up to a 5 star review Edit#2 - Door frame is in and looks great! Stand and his team are the best and I am happy. Though it has been a difficult ride with mis ordering and some confusion in the end the product is awesome and it looks great. The windows worked awesome in the cold spell . We will order from Feldco again and review is 5 stars; they clean up great and everything is wonderful. Thanks! read more

I do not understand why there is comments about the company having its own installers. I worked there for a bit, place is filled with liars and thieves. The ratings on the windows arent always correct but the inspectors dont have a way of checking, so people are being lied to all the time about the type of glass they are truly getting. We had a guy come out for a quote last week and got blindsided by the hour long history lesson on the company which, whatever, it's their thing I get it. Then he asked a couple questions about me. He asked what I did and I said I'm a teacher and he asked "are you one of those commies striking on the streets?" Which I really didn't know what to say so I awkwardly chuckled. Then when explaining the green tax that was implemented he said it was put in place by the guy "that all you millennials voted for" and again didn't really know how to respond to that. So we finally got to the quote and measuring about an hour later and when I told him I wouldn't be deciding that night he got visibly annoyed. I asked if he could send me a quote and he said hes "all jammed up" with stuff to do and he'd try to get to it. Still haven't gotten that quote. Disappointing to say the least, feldco is a well known Chicago company and I thought it would be better than this. read more

We recently replaced our old and very drafty French doors in our kitchen. FELDO was recommended to us and they did not disappoint. Our salesman told us exactly what we needed and how the door would improve and correct all of the problems we had with the old door. Ordered [mid-November 13] windows in hopes of taking advantage of the gov't rebate. My order date was going to be close to the Dec. 2010 deadline--10 days clearance though. They said so, and I heard them. They also said my order would be ready & installed in 4-6 weeks--end of December. Then they seemed to push my order off to the side. Then they called to tell me that my install date would be 8+ weeks after the order date--early January 2011. I called and e-mail and got the windows installed at the end of Dec.--I was on 'standby'. This part made me happy enough. I guess another customer cancelled an install date. Installation of 9 windows took 1.5 days. The guys worked 12 hours the first day, finished in the dark. They came back the second day to do trim work. [3 stars so far] [1-star part...] Then in daylight I noticed that I had 6 windows with full screens and 3 with half screens. I ordered them ALL with full screens. It took 5 conversations [phone, e-mail, sales person in my living room] to get an answer/ reaction. Not so urgent in January, now it is April. That 5th convo was a sales visit for another FeldCo product. Of course I cannot buy anything else until I get answers for my 3 screens. Just 2 days later--- In conclusion, I am told that's not how the sales person wrote the order. Really, he wrote up an order for 6 windows with full screens a 3 with half screens. Hmmmmm. So ma'am [after 5 conversations, thanks for asking US 5 times] that'll be $90 dollars MORE. I guess I'll have spare half screens for any future screen emergencies. read more

We had a great experience with Feldco from the sales experience through installation. Sale was low pressure and reasonable. The quote was well below other quotes we had received. The wait between sale and installation was reasonable, about two weeks. The installers were great. They came early and got all the windows installed in one day, 20 windows total. We had a door installed also and they did have to come back day two and install the door. The door installation was quick. The crew was very clean and left no debris. Don't buy windows from them and want customer service . I purchased windows from them 3 years ago and had problems with them. I tried to get someone to come out and look at them to no avail and after a poor review someone magical called and set up a service call. Fast forward six to seven months and broken window openers on 2 windows I tried to get them warrantied but was expected to pay a $99 service charge on one year old windows. I contacted them again because I had time and remembered about it and geuss what still a service charge, 2 screws and they will probably come out. So 10-15 minutes of work for $99.00 with supposed lifetime warranty. So steer clear and look else where, also the are kind of flimsy and are hard to close and latch. read more

I had approximately thirty nine windows installed in my home by feldco windows. In the contract it reads lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship. A few years after I had the work done, a cover that they installed on the outside of the window can loose from the chalking. I called feldco and was told it had been too long. It was about two and a half years. I was told it would be a charge, I said what about the lifetime warranty that it says in the contract. They still said it's been too long. The main reason I hired them was the lifetime warranty. My guess is they know people will hire them because they say the materials and workmanship is guaranteed for life, and only a handful of customers will actually follow through on taking them to court. It's a headache for the customer and they know that. Stay away from this place, lifetime warranty is a lie. read more
