We had Siding and Windows Group come out among a batch of 4 other companies for a roof and siding replacement after last August's hail damage. Here's how they stood out: They had excellent communication. From Angelo's estimate all the way to passing inspection, they were on top of their game. The estimate had every combination of options listed with exactly what they were going to do and photos of the planned work. We were assigned a field supervisor (Justin, I believe?) who would come out on the same day to inspect any issues we brought up. Our contact with the office via Cindy and Anthony was also superb and always timely. The work was done swiftly and well. The roofers were done before I got back from work. Siding and gutters are more involved, but they did excellent there as well and Roman et al. were excellent to work with, took feedback very well (see communication above), and were very hard and efficient workers. All in all, we were done with our project long before other houses in the same subdivision who had all signed up with doorknocker companies, and they delivered a high level of quality. To be clear, their estimate was slightly higher (my gut says 10% higher, but it's been a while since I reviewed the proposals) than some other offers we received, but for the work that we were doing, level of customization, and communication, we wouldn't make a different choice. I can't say I was thrilled when we were in the middle of a bathroom renovation and already pouring way too much $ for our home and we discovered (thanks to a few rainy days) that we needed new french doors leading out to our backyard. I'm usually not one to spend time getting a bunch of quotes and just rely on Yelp reviews to make a purchasing decision, but this was pricey enough purchase that i figured I should do my due diligence.' Siding & Windows Group was one of the 4 companies I had come out for a quote. We ended up with them for a few reasons: - Their quote was competitive - They were able to spray paint the interior trim with our existing paint color - They were able to match the exterior trim as closely as possible to our windows outside - Anthony at Siding & Windows Group was very responsive We placed the order on August 22nd, which is my bday. I can't say new doors was what i wanted for my bday, but i guess this is being a homeowner in your 40s. The new doors weren't installed until November 6th and we just hoped for no big storms and got lucky. Anthony checked in a few times on when they'd be installed and pushed it back a few days due to other projects. The actual installation took about a day, which wasn't too bad. A week later they came to spray paint, which honestly seemed like a much bigger project than installing the doors. That took 2 days and went smoothly, although there was a little confusion about them not knowing what color to paint, etc. It turned out beautifully and while the doors look very similar to our old doors I like the look of these even better. The exterior finish isn't a perfect match, but i think a big part of that is our old paint on our windows as faded. One day we'll touch it all up, but for now we're looking forward to a break in paying for anything for the house. I learned there are a lot of companies in the area for new windows/doors, but we were satisfied with this one and would use them again. read more

Rocco was very helpful answering all our questions and helping us to make selections for siding (and soffit, facia, window framing etc.) which let us realize our vision. They were prepared for bumps in the road as well (weather) and kept in good contact throughout the process and actually listened to us when we had questions or momentary concerns they put us at ease with the information we sought. It's a big purchase, but they made us feel confident in our decision by their actions, and we LOVE how the siding looks, and what it's doing for us since the install (Alside Ascend vinyl). Just had SWG complete the third and final phase of our home's exterior renovation. This time, we had the front of the house re-sided with Hardie and re-windowed with Marvin. So glad to be finally rid of the old single-pane and storm windows. The old cedar siding was faded but still serviceable, but it made more sense to replace it now rather than spend the money to paint it and replace it later. Team lead Marcin and his crew went above and beyond on this project to get everything just right. No surprise here, as they also did a terrific job on the previous phase of our renovation. The initial contact with SWG was good. This project was primarily to replace original windows in a 120 year old building. The windows were painted with lead paint so they had to go unfortunately. They sent someone out that took measurements of the windows, asked questions about the project, and sent over a proposal. The final document was signed end of May 2021. We were told the windows were ordered and would arrive by June-July. We hear back in July that they have our windows and will place us on their waiting list for installation, which was estimated to take ~10 weeks. I kept reaching out once a month to our project manager to know if there was a more accurate estimate. The project manager never reached out to me to keep me updated. Every time, they would say there were 2-3 projects ahead of us. This went on for about 4 months. In mid November, we hear that we are next and if we're available for installation in a week. We say yes and set a date. Day before that they cancel due to weather and set a date for Monday before Thanksgiving. They cancel again due to weather. They continue to set dates and cancel due to weather, wet pavement (but that isn't a problem the next day even though the pavement is still wet from previous day's snow), communication issues between the installers and the project manager, etc. Each time it was scheduled, I'd have to accommodate it my calendar, wake up early, and move furniture around in case they came. Once they cancelled, I'd then move furniture back and reschedule. Rinse and repeat. Finally once they started with the install, I confirmed again with the project manager that the windows are lead and need to be treated as such. The PM and the installers assured me that all precautions would be taken. No lead precautions were taken. One of the windows was removed and transported through my condo and left wood chips with paint as it went. After the installation, I found debris. I had to encourage my pregnant wife to stay with a friend during the day because we didn't deem the environment safe for her. This is completely unacceptable for a hazardous material. The primary motive for replacing the windows in the first place was to remove lead. I've attached pictures of the lead paint left after the installation. read more

We are absolutely thrilled to have worked with the Siding and Windows group to install Fiber Cement siding, new windows and trim on our 100+ year single family home. I found it difficult to find any local recommendations, so looked on yelp and was impressed with their reviews. Beforehand our house had tired old peeling and warped cedar wood which was on its last legs and is now a sleek contemporary looking home. Rather than the worst looking house in the street, it is now the best! It has added real value to our home. Hubert was fantastic dealing with us and discussing our options, worked with us on budget and the option to apply for 0% financing that they arranged was also just what we needed to secure the deal. They were very honest with the timeline on how long it would take to start (about 6 weeks) as the weather had put back other projects. Hubert always responded to my emails quickly with questions and last minute changes. It took 3 weeks total from start to finish, including installing 3 new windows and the 2 guys who worked on our house were very respectful of ours and our neighbors property, tidied up every evening, and a delight to work with. They worked very hard in hot weather over the summer, but never complained. They even kept for us a Chicago Sunday Tribune from 1924 which they found under the siding. After researching a few siding contractors, went with Sidings and Windows group for vinyl siding, fascia, soffits and gutters. My experience the first time around was excellent for many reasons - price, quality and speed to completion. After moving to a new home, didn't even question looking at another contractor given my experience with Angelo, Franz and the team at Siding and Windows Group. Current Work: Vinyl siding, downspout replacement, garage door trim and post replacement, fascia/soffit repair. For context, wanted to provide events to date: * Signed a contract at the beginning of August and was given an estimate of work to begin in about a month given some of the backlog in materials * Mid-September through end of November: Called to request updates, was given a few different dates over the course of three months, but material finally arrived end of November. While the delay in production is not an SWG issue, communication was always initiated by us for updates. * Beginning of December: Started work but was informed that SWG ran out of siding so will need to work to find more in inventory elsewhere. SWG was not sure of the status of the other materials needed that were originally on the order (Hardie board) Hoping to give Siding and Windows Group a 5-star review once the work is completed. While the delay from the siding manufacturer is out of their control and has not been factored into my rating, there are enough opportunities around communication, product ordering, etc. that I feel objectively justifies the review. read more

The windows are quite beautiful, and one plus is that they removed a large air conditioner from our attic and installed a small and lovely window--a beautiful vantage point to look out at trees. Right from the start I got a good feeling that these guys were going to be different. Their salesman Hubert came out to our house and spent several hours with my wife and I discussing out goals for the complete project, time line, concerns etc and never did I feel pressure to make a rash decision. We decided to have Siding Group do new Hardie siding on our entire house after removing the old aluminum siding along with complete gutters, sofit and facia and a completely new front porch and beaded dougfir ceiling. I can not say enough good things and about the whole team at Siding Group. Straight from the top Greg (the owner) is VERY hands on and really went the extra mile to make sure we were overly comfortable and happy with every step of the project and even the small couple of items that came up along the way we addressed extremely quickly and without argument. I should also mention that Roman & Ziggy who were the main two guys on our project were nothing short of top notch craftsman for sure!! Our house was built in 1891 and has settled a bit in certain places over those 120+ years so there was quite a few on the job customizations required to make it all look right and they were AWESOME!!! We are very happy with the Siding & Windows Group team. We purchased a house in Lakeview (Chicago, IL) this summer. The siding was old, compromised, and needed a facelift. We contacted a number of siding vendors but only Bart Borowski from the Siding & Windows Group always returned our calls and replied to emails quickly, answered questions, provide alternatives to customize our home, referred us to various sites in the City where they were doing work, and worked with us on the pricing. Once the work on our house began, Yolanda stopped by almost daily to oversee the work/progress. The crew doing the work, from tear down and installation, were efficient, cleaned/organized the material and equipment at the end of each day, and kept us informed if they came across something unexpected and did all of the trouble-shooting. Greg checked in with us regularly about progress and trouble-shooting as well. Greg, Yolanda, and the crew were completely transparent throughout the entire process and went out of their way to assure that we remained and felt like a priority. The work was completed within the time frame we were given (about 4 weeks for a 2 story single family house including the garage. Julie, my salesperson, was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and the best way to do it. We decided to completely re-side the house, also doing all the fascia and soffits. I recently purchased a raised ranch in Arlington Heights. The house had vinyl clad siding that was at least 30 years old, and while it was not in horrible shape, it was very tired looking. I contacted several vendors about replacing my roof, gutters, and siding. Siding and Windows Group spent time with me listening to exactly what I wanted and provided an extremely thorough and detailed proposal. They were not the cheapest quote I received (nor the most expensive), but they were the company I felt most comfortable working with. There was no upselling, no pressure, no incessant phone calls. The crews were professional, prompt, friendly, and did amazing work. They cleaned up at the end of every day. They kept me apprised of any issues that arose, and informed me of how the problems would be resolved. They even set aside all of the metal that they removed from my house and took it to be recycled, instead of tossing it in the landfill, for which I was very grateful. They completed the tear off of all of the old siding and trim plus the installation of hardie board shake and siding on our 1920s Sears craftsman home in June 2017. We had them replicate the band board and drip cap details original to the home and install new gutters as well. They were on time every day, extremely friendly and courteous and above all well qualified to perform the job. read more

The employ skilled and caring installers and made the entire experience very satisfying. Our job took 2 weeks to complete but I loved how meticulous to detail they are and took pride in their work. It's worth every penny spent not to mention the price was competitive. First and for most, I want to start off by saying thank you to Angelo for coming to a strangers home and presenting what the siding and windows group had to offer. Overall the siding and windows group was very professional from day one. My wife and I decided to change the color of the siding during the construction process and I know how frustrating this can be for a group of hard working individuals. I spoke with Greg the project manager about our concerns and he did not hesitate or argue with us about changing the colors, which I thought was going to be a problem. Greg was professional and kind by stating, "Our company is about satisfaction to our clients, I want you to come home and be happy about your decision and color of the siding and not second guess what, I should have done." My wife and I were so happy and relieved that the change was done without any hassles, throughout the whole project that took two weeks, Greg and I were in touch with any problems or concerns that we had till the end of the project. The two hard working individuals that labored throughout the whole project from demo to dealing with me and making our home beautiful was Jacob and Ziggy. The enthusiasm Jacob and Ziggy bring to the table is a personality trait that cannot be learnt and a skill which cannot be taught, because the two of them work like a well oiled machine, both of them deserve a RAISE. We had Hardie Board installed on our home and garage, plus several new windows were installed. The workmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. The quote was competitive, but now that the work is complete - I consider it a bargain. Our home looks brand new! The crew (Michael and Lester) was very professional and respectful of our home. There was no damage to our landscaping and they cleaned up at the end of each day (including sweeping the drive to ensure no nails remained). They do outstanding work. First if you don't speak with this company for siding or roofing - YOUR a fool. I have never worked with such a professional organization. From working with Sales (Angelo) who had great suggestions as well as patience. Matt the Foreman of the job was nothing but attentive, kind, and great with suggestions. He went above and beyond to assist me with getting the job correct and right. The quality and attention to detail on the job was superior to any other. This project scared me because of the cost and how huge of a decision this was for me. Angelo was able to get renderings of my house and was able to show it with the different color schemes to make my decision a correct one. I have gotten neighbors and strangers coming to ask who did the work and questions about the Hardi plank I had installed. It looks fabulous and I'm sure increased the value of my home 2 times over. Our house looked terrible before the Siding Group. We wanted to get the front redone with James Hardie Board and then one side needed to be redone with regular vinyl siding. We also needed repair to the soffit and gutters all around the house. We got estimates from several places, but Siding Group was by far the most affordable. The work was done on time, very efficiently, and everything went perfectly. The guy who did the estimate, Hubert, came and went over everything with us while he took measurements, etc. Greg came out to the job site, answered all of our questions, and coordinated his work with another contractor doing some work on our porch. So I call Siding & Windows Group to set up an estimate on replacing 7 vinyl windows in a the house I purchased as fall. I also wanted some siding repairs included, due to a wind storm in the spring. They set me up with an 8 am appointment with Chuck, on a Friday. Friday 8 am comes and no Chuck, so I wait. By 9 am, I'm furious. I call S&W Group, and speak with some nice woman, who said she would look into it and someone call me back. Then I call Chuck directly, as I remembered they gave me his number. Not only did Chuck sound like he just woke up, he actually said, "I have too many problem right now. I can not make it." He did offer to drive by my house later, and give me a quote based on what he sees and asked about the location of the windows. Around 12:30, I get a call from Chuck, saying he will have to look it the cost from the supplies. Come Monday, I get a text message with an insane quote of $1200 for siding repairs as it is not a stock item, with no mention of windows. I let him know he was mistaken and the quote was for windows with siding repairs. He responded with "You never told me about the windows. And my company would never send me because I'm a repair tech." I jogged his memory by telling him that he even asked about the location of the windows. Then he remembered. Mind you, he never mentioned this during our first conversation. Also, he didn't know that I had received a couple quotes already, and companies were willing to include the minor siding repairs because I was purchasing so many windows. Unprofessional to say the least. read more

They replaced all the windows on the first floor of my house in just a few days, and considering the "vintage" of my previous windows, that is quite possibly a miracle. After convincing ourselves that the Hardie products were our preferred choice for siding materials, we did extensive research and obtained bids from five contractors, most of them preferred contractors as rated by Hardie. Ultimately we settled on Siding and Windows Group largely based on the detailed proposal they provided and the responsiveness of their salesperson in answering the multitude of questions we had. The installation crew were professional, skilled and accommodating to letting us "work in" other projects while they were doing their installation. We also found them most reasonable in their pricing when additional work was needed to repair some underlying wood rot. We would have given them 5 stars if it weren't for the internal miscommunication between sales and scheduling that delayed the start of our project by over a month. They weren't the least expensive option we had, but close, and in the end it's about the value received, not just the price....and S&WG delivered in that area. read more
