Steve is great. He first did a complete gut remodel of my bathroom, then a gut remodel of my kitchen. Both are beautiful. Recently he installed tile in my downstairs bath and hall. Compliments galore. O I almost forgot. The first project was to rebuild the front of the house when my neighbor drove into my dining room. Yes, that is correct. I have had Lenny work on my previous home and my current home. His quote is always fair and always detailed as to what we needed to have done. Lenny is a great guy too, easy to talk with, clear about the realities of the job and what it will take to fix it. Because of Lenny our siding on our previous home still looks great and the flashing and work around our chimney on our current home keeps us from the anxiety of worrying about unwanted water. I even asked him to put some screening in around the exhaust area so as to keep birds out and that was done as well for no additional cost. We hired Why Not to repair/replace a 17x17 flat roof over an addition on the back of our house. The existing roof was 20+ years old and began leaking. The business owner Lenny was quick to respond--out of 5 contractors I contacted, he was the second to call back and provide an estimate. His proposal was very detailed, and MUCH lower than the next-lowest estimate we received. Their responsiveness was exceptional, easy to communicate with by phone, text, and email. While we were waiting for the work to be done, we had another round of heavy rain and leaking. They came out and did a temporary patch to stop the leaking, at minimal cost. When it comes to getting a quote and telling you what they can do, they're number one. When it comes to actually showing up and doing the work, not so good. I was told they would have the siding done within 2 weeks and that was 6 weeks ago. First, the siding was shipped to my house and left on my driveway. When I called the guy to tell him the siding has been sitting on my driveway for 3 days when will he start the job, he said, "The siding is there? It was supposed to be delivered at the warehouse."I had a feeling this was not a good sign. When they came out to do the work. I was told they didn't order enough so they have to place another order and wait for the delivery. In the meantime, the crew had cigarette butts all over my lawn not to mention nails and sharp edges from the siding. Very unprofessional. Still waiting for the remainder of the siding. This company has horrible customer service and DOES NOT FOLLOW THROUGH. They don't get back to you even after you agree to their inflated job cost's. A friend of mine didn't hear from them for months even after placing multiple calls to follow up with them. Seriously, what kind of business is that when you have to follow up with them? I personally gave up after about of month. "Lennys" word doesn't mean anything and there are so many better companies out there to use for jobs. read more

Lenny is a talker but does not show up to get the work done. He and Andrea (Office staff) schedule work, but then the people are no shows. When we call to ask why they did not come, Lenny gets all huffy, then makes jokes, then tries to humiliate you. AND... the work is shoddy and does not last. Our roof leaked and although he came out to fix it, the fix was not long-lasting. Plus, he does not always get the permits needed, so the homeowner can get into trouble. read more

The Why Not Complete Home Improvements Company, of Des Plaines, Illinois is a quality company that takes pride in their work. They replaced my old existing metal roof with new GAF Timberline shingles for both levels of my home. Lenny, their Owner, is highly responsive and very detail oriented. If I left a phone message for Lenny, he returned my call readily within a few hours of the same day. His work proposal was concise, detailing all agreed upon work items and total price. Why Not Company also is redoing my aluminum siding in areas of needed repair. They also installed gutter guards for my entire home, for both the first and second floor. Why Not's contractors are very good to work with and each day, the day's progress of work, was explained to me and I was then informed of the remaining work to be done. All work was completed in the time proposed. The contractors arrived each day at the time they said they would start work. Each day, after they completed their work day, my sidewalks, driveway, and lawns were cleared of all debris and left very presentable. My neighbors mentioned to me how the Why Not contractors worked very hard each day and how respectful they were to my neighbors as they passed by my home during the time they were working. On the day, the agreed payment was due, Lenny stopped by my home and explained in detail all the work that had been completed and answered any questions that I may have had leaving me completely satisfied with the work that was done. I highly recommend Lenny's company, for any work that you may require for your home. The Why Not company is now my contractor of choice for all my future house remodeling and repairs. read more
