In 2025 had cedar shake and old roof replaced along with gutters. The roof leaked into our living room ceiling, along beams and in corner. Owner has not given us a remedy since our original complaints in January 2026 . We just want our roof not to leak. read more

They replaced our roof, siding, gutters, etc. after the last storm damage of October 2023. Elijah stayed on top of things every step of the way from the beginning to the end, but what impressed us the most was that he never bickered or argued with us to prove us wrong, like some other roofers did before, and never made anything a big deal. Instead, he never minded to take care of any nuance or anything in question, e.g. they paid for the whole house wash after their siding contractors brought dusty (new) siding and got their hands dirty and left some marks on siding and trim - no questions or objections from Elijah - boom,.. done! The same was with any little thing or question: he promptly came over, checked, and took care of that. He was always very friendly, and so was his staff/office. Great job, thanks! read more

Capital Construction are SCAM ARTISTS and will rip you off. The sales guys are charming and nice, but the subs they hire must be extremely underpaid because the quality of their work is extremely poor. Capital installed new siding, gutters, insulation and roofing in my home 7 years ago. Mid project, I noticed that they never cut holes for the attic air vents in eves of the roof. I had an inspector come out right away. He discovered that they used the cheapest kind of wood for the roof, NOT the type we purchased. The attic spaces were not vented properly as per our contract and it was also discovered that the "insulation" we paid for was simply a few bags of insulation haphazardly thrown around the crawl spaces. They had to rip everything off and start over. It's seven years later and I've now discovered mold on the underside of my roof and I'm confident that it's because of their lackadaisical approach to "restoration". I would NEVER recommend these guys to anyone. Go to the higher end companies FOR sure. You get what you pay for. Penny wise, pound foolish. read more

Dennis and his team were amazing! They helped us navigate our insurance claim, did awesome and timely work, and maybe best of all - they did a great job cleaning up. We have little kids, and they were really thorough to make sure all the screws and nails were picked up. It's the little things that show that they really care! I would highly recommend working with Dennis for any siding jobs! Our old house still has its classic look, but with a nice facelift (the Brad Pitt kind...not like some of those other celebs) read more

We used him a year ago. He was a good guy and we liked him to clean our gutters iiiiii iii

Our house had major damage due to a hail storm early April. We called Capital Construction & Restoration. Dennis was already in the area & came right over to inspect our house. Dennis, my wife & I discussed his findings. A claim was filled with our insurance company. Dennis met with the insurance adjuster & stayed with the adjuster the entire time. Dennis with the insurance adjuster explained what would be covered by the insurance policy. Dennis & Capital Construction & Restoration replaced our entire roof, gutters, downspouts. They had our house power washed & re-stained. They worked with the insurance company & replace a large picture window that was also damaged & could not be repaired. They were there when we needed them. Their crew was always polite. At the end of the day everything was cleaned up as if they never been here. I trusted Dennis & Capital Construction & Restoration to do the entire job correctly & they did not let us down! They did a fantastic job and it was completed on time & on budget. They were kind & compassionate. Dennis & Capital Construction & Restoration followed through with the insurance company. We would highly recommend Capital Construction & Restoration. read more

My house recently got a complete exterior makeover and it is amazing! I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!! Everyone from Capital Construction and Restoration was so great to work with! I was really indecisive and unsure about color and material choices, but Dennis and his team were so patient and great about responding to all my questions and requests for samples. Dennis and his crew were very attentive to detail and someone from the family was on site everyday to make sure things were going smoothly. The project was completed in a very timely manner and I'm proud to say people in the neighborhood are always stopping to comment or look at our house! If anyone needs an exterior makeover or you are need of new siding, gutters, or roof, make sure to contact Dennis Cho from Capital Construction!! Thanks again for my beautiful house!! read more

Capital Construction & Restoration recently installed new siding on our house and is one of the best contractors my wife and I have ever worked with! The workmanship is beautiful and the product - Hardie Board - is very high quality. Mike C. was a tremendous advocate on our behalf with the insurer, as was Helen Y. Mike saw an error in the claims adjustor's measurements and helped us with a successful, supplemental claim. Mike was extremely responsive to my numerous phone messages and oversaw the construction to make sure it was done right. The installation crew was outstanding. They took pride in their work and were polite and accommodating when we made changes to the work scope. We highly recommend this company! Joel L. read more

Capital construction did a fine job on our roof. Phil met with us and explained everything. The job was finished in 1 day, April 26, 2019. And the guys cleaned up on the outside. The last insurance check was given to Phil by the middle of May. However, when I moved the car to the garage I found a mess. A lot of debris was all over the garage floor. So I called Phil and someone came to clean the garage. But it was superficial and I called again. I asked Phil to clean the garage floor and also to check the attic, since the roof was replaced over the house as well. There was a lot of debris there as well. I called several times and Phil said the attic would be cleaned. It is now late August, 4 months later, ......and I am still waiting. It is now mid October ......and I am still waiting for the cleanup. And today is November 23. Although Phil said in several text messages that he would come Thursday or Friday of this week he did not come. He did not call or text to say that he would not come. He is unreliable, unbelievable. Do not pay until the job is finished. And it is now December 14. Although Phil confirmed an appointment for 2 weeks ago he did not come, did not call to cancel. ......I am still waiting Dennis Cho stopped by 2 weeks ago, January 6, 2020. He said he would finish the job in the attic. But he needed to get a small vacuum (so it would fit in the attic), even though Phil supposedly got one several months ago. . ......I am still waiting And today is February 5. I had hoped Dennis would be finished cleaning by now. But guess what! It is a month later. No one has called. No one has come to clean. In 2 months it will be a year since the roof was done. AND ......I AM STILL WAITING. Today is February 13.. it is almost 6 weeks since Dennis said he would finish cleaning the attic. But guess what. He still hasn't been back to do it. AND ......I AM STILL WAITING. read more

The Good After sending a message the response back was rather quick and the turn around for the phone call was great. After the conversation via phone I thought my expectations were clear, I sent a message saying I wanted a quote and repeated the same thing during the conversation prior to setting up an appointment. My appointment was set for Thursday, June 8th, 2017 between 5-5:30p. The Bad However at 5:04p I received a voicemail saying it was to confirm the appointment. I called back and left a voicemail and received a call right back from June. Again he stated he was calling to confirm the appointment right before appointment time. Before the end of the call I noticed not once did he state he would be late for the appointment so I asked for his e.t.a. and I was told between 40-50 minutes because traffic had come to a halt. So in actuality this call shouldn't have been to confirm it should've been to inform me of a late arrival. I thought this was extremely disrespectful of my time and schedule. The Ugly During the call I asked June if I would be getting a quote. He said well no I was going to come over to view the insurance information and go from there. Excuse me! I was very specific about what I expected during this appointment. So not only did I find this to be disrespectful of my time but also it was clear although I'd sent a message saying what I wanted and repeated the same thing during the call (I wanted a quote for the work I needed completed) June was going to come out to my home and do what it was he wanted to do. After finding this out I told June if he was unable to give me a quote we should cancel this appointment and possibly reschedule for a date when he could. I have to hire another contractor to come in and fix the work Capital Construction did at my home. I spent $15,000 on a new roof that they guaranteed their work would fix my leaks. Not only did not their work not fix the leaks but now the leaks are worse. I have called, texted and sent emails but they have stopped responding to my requests to remediate. Buyer beware. read more

Capital Construction replaced our roof, gutters, and trim work around our garage. They worked with our insurance company and made the process as easy as possible for us. I just had my gutters replaced yesterday. I could not be more happy with the quality of work and level of professionalism. Most importantly, I felt like I wasn't being taken advantage of because of the way that Dennis quoted me the price. Dennis was the ONLY bid out of 4 that suggested I could keep my existing downspouts (they were actually swapped out for bigger ones last year) in order to keep the price down. He was also the only one of four not trying to hard sell me on gutter guards. He said if I wanted them we could always talk about them later. It was just such a great experience working with some one who I could implicitly trust and see an outstanding result. His price was very fair and I will more than likely be using him down the road when I need to replace my roof. read more

Capital Construction & Restoration in Northbrook replaced our roof and we had multiple leaks. Buckets of water was coming into our home in 2 different areas. They attempted to fix it but kept having the issues and the patch work job was not done correctly. It was the worst experience we have had. Phil Cho made promises to fix things and we let him try but after 5 months of this debacle we were left with insulation that needed replaced, water stains on ceilings, damaged siding, and damaged windows. read more

Capital Construction did a fantastic job in completely replacing my mother's fence that was damaged during a storm. Over 15 fence panels and two gates had fallen during a sever rain and wind storm. Dennis Cho (the owner of Capital Construction) worked with us to find the best replacement and design for the fence. He kept in communication with us to verify that we were comfortable with the design and building material. He even worked with the Insurance Adjuster to ensure that all costs were covered even things the insurance adjuster did not see that were damaged by the storm. Dennis's crew was meticulous and ensured solid posts while ensuring there were no uneven parts along the bottom and top of the fence. There is nothing worse than an uneven fence! Dennis ensured that the clean-up was perfect, my mother's yard looks bigger than before because the fence looks so solid and even all the way around. The fence feels like a car couldn't knock it over. Definitely reach out to Dennis for any work that needs to be done on fences, roofs, gutters and siding, he won't disappoint with his excellent customer service and knowledge of the business. read more

Gloria in the office was always exceptionally kind and easy to work with. Dennis was very friendly for advice and helped us correct a few issues with our skylights that prior owners chose not to. He gave great counsel but even better than that fixed with the issue with a high quality product for a very reasonable price. When the work was done, the gentlemen were gone before we even knew they were there. We are very grateful! read more

We completed a brand new construction dream home and was very particular about who would be completing the roof. Capital was very responsive, professional, and completed the work in time. The owner personally helped us picked out the color and style of the roof as that would bring the exterior design of the house together and it was not an easy decision. He gave us addresses was to look at examples, etc. Would highly recommend. read more

Nothing but NIGHTMARES dealing with this company. Overall I found them incompetent, slow to respond, and the work unacceptable. The only time they reached out was when they were looking for their reimbursement from the insurance company. This company replaced my roof in the fall of last year. They did an excellent job! But recently I had water come through my ceiling under my attic and called them to come take a look. Dennis came with 2 workers very quickly. They went over and above to resolve my issue which had nothing to do with the new roof. Dennis even drove to several hardware stores to get the parts needed to fix the problem. The cherry on the sundae was 'no charge' for the visit. Seriously?! It was not the roof that caused the problem! Very much appreciated! PS-I would highly recommend this company and Dennis to anyone needing a new roof. Dee / Naperville read more

I was referred to Capital by a good friend of mine who had similar roofing work done in Spring 2016. In Summer 2016 I requested Capital to come out to give me a free estimate to reshingle my roof and also had a couple questions about a few problem areas. I called on a Monday and a Capital rep came out on a Wednesday to review my roof and all the questions I had. Informative, quick, competitive pricing and to the point without trying to sell me on additional "needs". My possible problem areas were simple and included in the scope of work. Additionally, the lifetime shingle warranty with additional 5 year workmanship guarantee made it a secure bet. Fast-forward 8 months and I have had no issues and am beyond happy with the work Capital performed. Much appreciated guys! read more

Went with capital through a referral from a family friend and so glad I did. I worked with DJ. Being a first time homeowner, I didn't know much. He was really informative and patient with all my questions. He came out the day of my adjuster appointment and pretty much took care of everything. My insurance company rejected my roof replacement claim for hail damage stating there is minimal damage and wrote me a check for 98.00 after my 1000.00 deduction. Gloria the office manager from Capital Construction said this is not right the way this insurance company is treating us. Gloria became my advocate and fought my insurance company and got them to paid for a new roof. Gloria pursued the claim adjuster and did not let them bully us. Gloria is very aggressive in negotiating with the insurance company. This went on for over 3 months until the insurance company agree to paid for a new roof. Unbelievable to this day what Gloria did for us. So, I highly recommend you talk to Gloria from Capital Construction if your insurance company rejected or low-ball your claim for damages to your home. Note I said Gloria is the office manager not a Public Adjuster. Gloria would make an awesome Public Adjusters negotiating insurance clients claims with insurance company. read more

Capital Construction is exceptional. After the April 2020 hail storm, they did a lot of work in our neighborhood and worked with our insurance company to replace our roof, gutters, downspouts, and siding. This was a massive job, which had to be coordinated and done in stages with the different suppliers and workmen. Everything was done when promised and we couldn't be happier. Phil, in particular, went WAY above and beyond; he was always immediately responsive and the communication was excellent. He really treated our project as if he were working on his own home - everything, from initial contact to follow-up coordination to finished project, was done professionally and thoroughly. Lots of contractors promise you the moon, but fail to deliver; Phil was just the opposite - not only was he always true to his word, he also went the extra mile for us. Elijah also deserves a big shout-out for really holding our insurance company's feet to the fire to get them to pay what they should; insurance companies want to pay only the minimum, but Elijah kept going back to them to make sure everything was covered. Both Phil and Elijah were really there for us and had our back. We enthusiastically recommend them - two big "thumbs up" from us! read more
