He assessed the property to be moved and though some boxes and items had water damage from a recent rainstorm leak, said things would be fine. For a short time, he supervised his young sons and then left them on their own. No one asked me or my husband any questions they may have had nor did they ever contact me with any concerns about wet from rain boxes. When they said they were done, my husband sent me photos of what the end result was. It was horrifying. Items were simply tossed upon other items. Everything was thrown in a Willy nilly fashion. When I contacted the owner, he was curt and unapologetic. I would like a refund but he threatened to block me. We were charged over $500 for 3 hours. When I didn't need the space anymore, I cleared it out but the office was closed so I couldn't tell them; I figured I'd go in the next day to do it but I didn't have to! They check all the spaces regularly and noticed mine was empty/unlocked so they called to confirm my move-out -- done & done! And again, the staff I've spoken to has been nothing but nice. I am SO UPSET with our mail carrier, whoever it may be. He jammed this Amazon box in our mailbox so…read moretight, neither my husband or so could get it out. The height of the box at the back, where the carrier puts things in, must be higher than the height at the front. There is a slight "lip" that runs across the width of the box at the front, that comes down from the top of the box. The lip is what's preventing us from removing the Amazon box. There are larger mailboxes at the bottom of our mailbox bank (condo complex), and we have received larger packages in those boxes. Or, the mail carrier has sometimes delivers to our front door. I have seen USPS carriers do that at our neighbors condos too. So here I sit, extremely irritated that I cannot retrieve my Amazon package.

The bad... The arrival leg revealed a lack of caring and attention to detail that was surprising to us given the white glove price. * Clothes and shoes were dumped on the floor of the closet. * Metal kitchen items were loosely packed with delicate ceramics. * Spill-able items, eg salt, olive oil, were not sealed and made a mess. * TV was placed on a stand that was not assembled properly. * The entry lamp was knocked askew. * Large tree branch was broken off and thrown in the yard. The unload crew members were unlike the original crew. They were rushing through the job and kind of hostile. My expectations were probably too high here. The move was really expensive. i thought that meant they would care about us. Nothing here is earth shattering but given the price and reputation of Allied, we expected better. We called Hazelwood. Disappointing Experience…read more We hired Jared's Movers for a local move in Santa Barbara after getting quotes from three different companies. Jared's estimate was the lowest, but I was skeptical when he quoted just 4-5 hours for the move with a three-man crew, especially since the other companies estimated 6-7 hours for the same scope. I voiced my concerns, and he agreed to revise the estimate to 6 hours to be more realistic since I emphasized that I had a strict budget, and 6 hours was the maximum I could spend. To help stay within that limit, I told him I'd handle all the kitchen and artwork packing myself--tasks he originally planned to include. He agreed this would reduce the total time needed. On moving day, the team worked efficiently, and Jared even remarked, "See, I told you it would go quickly. I don't know what those other movers were thinking." Yet when the move was finished, he claimed the job took longer than the 6-hour estimate, despite the reduced scope. He charged my card for the overage without my consent, and when I disputed it, he refused to honor the agreed estimate. It was clear at that point he had underestimated the job just to win the business. To make matters worse, we later realized a side table was missing. After multiple follow-up calls (which he promised to return and didn't), we finally received a call from another team member who looked into it for us and found the table--broken and hidden under a blanket in the back of the truck. He offered a reimbursement based on a similar table he found online, but it was only $130--significantly less than what our original piece cost. I accepted the reimbursement just to be done with the ordeal. I was at least somewhat pleased that he was honest about finding the broken table. In hindsight, I regret tipping the crew as generously as I did. Between the inaccurate estimate, the surprise overcharge, the damaged furniture, and poor post-move communication, this was a disappointing experience I would not recommend to others.
