He let me know he had Covid really bad and was in the hospital during the time I was trying to reach him and offered to reimburse our lamp at full cost plus an extra $100 for the inconvenience. I really appreciate the gesture and can in good conscience change my review to a 5 star review! ORIGINAL REVIEW: 3 Stars I wanted to give a 5 star review as the guys that came to do the move were friendly, professional, and very hard working. They were SUPER quick with moving the boxes that we had ready. I did wish they asked for a little more direction once they were done moving the boxes we had ready though -- they just started packing and moving the stuff that we didn't have ready so now we're unable to locate some things. But that's our bad for not having everything ready (but it's hard with a baby!) At the beginning, they arrived on time at 9am but had the wrong truck and wrong number of people. We ordered a truck for 2 bed 1 bath, with 3 workers. They arrived with a smaller truck and only 2 workers. It wasn't the crew's fault, I think Robert had just entered the info incorrectly. They had to go switch trucks with the other people who took the big truck and call one more worker in so we didn't get to start until close to 10am. They started the clock for us at 9:25 though (but whatever). They had to make a second trip and on their trip back that should've only been 10 minutes (15 minutes max with traffic), they didn't show up for about 30 minutes. I get that they need a lunch break because they are human and were working super hard but they never clocked out for that break. Regardless, we didn't argue with them about the time they clocked and gave them a tip as well. Robert came to check in during the move to see how things were, which was nice. I only wished he kept the same level of customer care after we paid. We realized the lamp shade of our floor lamp was broken during the move. I sent him a photo and asked him what the process was to get a reimbursement twice and he never bothered to respond, even though on their contract it says that we are entitled to a reimbursement. In terms of cost, these are his rates: $85 per man $170 2 men $255 3 men I'm not sure if he purposely under quoted to get the sale or we just seriously had way more stuff than he anticipated, even though we chatted on the phone and I explained everything. But his quote says $730 total for 2 guys at 4 hours (even though I said 3 guys) and a $50 fuel/mileage charge. One of the workers did tell us at the beginning that this would take at least 6 hours though. We appreciated the heads up for that at least. The total ended up being $1,948 total for 3 guys at 7 hours (including a $50 fuel/mileage fee and a surprise $50 supplies charge) + tip. This is the first time we've hired movers for a house move and it was definitely necessary with a baby. Overall, I'm glad they helped us move because we really needed it but cost-wise, I feel like there were hidden fees and they were being a little shady with how they charged us for time. We didn't argue with them but I also wouldn't recommend them. Also, Robert didn't seem to care about providing any customer service for things being broken after he's been paid. read more

Rough around the edges and couldn't be bothered to crack a smile. This is my second positive review for Platinum Movers. I work for a local nonprofit organization and we used Platinum Movers to load and unload our UHauls the day before and day after our events. Our building is on the second floor with no elevator and they loaded 80+ boxes, 10 tent, 10 tables and many breakable items in under two hours. I know they must have been tired but they never complained. They arrived in uniform shirts, were respectful, organized, efficient and very kind. Movers were very slow, took smoke breaks, had to go get gas, all while on the clock and charged me for that time. Damaged my $3500 couch and owner was very dismissive on the damage. He even said he would come over the next day to see what he could do after I sent him pictures. Owner no called/no showed. At the end, they tried to charge be more than $1,000 more than what I was quoted. Ended up paying well more than double what I was quoted. Overall, was very displeased with the company, the laziness of the workers that were sent over, and the lack of caring from the owner. If I had to recommend a company, it would not be them based on my experience with them. read more

I used Platinum Movers to move 4 hours away. They came and packed everything, then the next day loaded the truck, drove, and unloaded everything. My mom used a different moving company and moved to the same house as us, so we had a very clear comparison between moving companies. Platinum Movers charged us a little less than they quoted us, whereas my mom's company charged her way, way more than she was quoted. Our stuff was packed so carefully. Every single thing was wrapped in paper (literally my 5 year old's seashell was wrapped) and meticulously labeled. For example, a box would be labeled living room: children's books: -Harry Potter -Dr. Seuss -Captain Underpants. It made everything so easy to find! (Vs my mom's boxes just being labeled "kitchen" or "living room"). Our stuff was unloaded way faster and the movers were way nicer than my mom's guys. We did have some miscommunication, so I recommend being very specific when booking about when everything is happening. Also Platinum Movers showed up late for both packing and loading the truck. Ultimately these things didn't matter nearly as much to me as the low cost and quality of work done and if I had to do it over again, I would definitely still go with Platinum. read more

He very quickly gave me their pricing, answered my questions, and when I confirmed that I wanted to use their services, he sent me an estimate/invoice. Don't even consider anyone else for your move!! I requested a few quotes before our move (5) and it came down to Mammoth and Platinum. Mammoth couldn't give us a definitive time and didn't have the best phone etiquette, so we booked with Platinum. Robert responded to my quote within 10 minutes of my submission. He was also very flexible, as our landlords had switched our move-in time, less than 24 hours prior to our scheduled moving time with Platinum. As promised, the crew showed up on time (actually earlier; if you're not early, you're late)! We had a 300 pound glass cabinet to get moved into the house. I'm pretty capable, handy too, but: No way I was going to freelance this one! My lovely Diane did a quick Yelp search, something we do often to find the best, and she did. She found Platinum Movers, and Robert. He drove up to our home after work one evening to see the cabinet and the layout to give us an accurate quote. It wasn't hard for three guys and a one-hour minimum. This is a fair estimate, and left room for us to fully unpack it, and ask them to carry off the two pallets and some of the bulky packing materials. Robert and I agreed to a price quickly and he waited for the delivery to happen, gave us a heads-up call before they showed up, and we were off and running. They were smart, careful, STRONG and easy to deal with. This heavy and delicate (the first one we were shipped arrived damaged from the seller!) cabinet landed in the house without any stress or incidents. Felt feet pads too. They helped clean up, took the pallet and sub-pallets and the bulky packing materials for us, and we were done. Smooth, easy, fair and quick. We would recommend them to anyone.
