Had a quick job (moving a heavy mattress from one apartment to another a short drive away up on the third floor) - about half an hour of work. All the other quotes I got were way too expensive to consider, but the Dudes saved me! Very reasonably-priced, friendly, easy to work with. Their service doesn't come with all the bells and whistles that more expensive moving companies have, it's more like having a buddy or two (or more) come help you move - or just completely take care of things for you while you sit on the sidelines. But that's exactly what I needed, and I will definitely be calling on their help again! read more

We hired Dude I Need A Truck because of the great reviews but we had a terrible experience. First off, we scheduled to have two guys come and one of them was almost 45 minutes late. But I was still charged for his time! Then they ended up racing through our job and damaged several pieces of furniture. When I pointed out an obvious scratch and chip in the finish on my dining room table, they started making all sorts of excuses about how they didn't do it but it was obvious they did. I had eaten breakfast at that table that morning and it was perfect. They then continued to complain about how they didn't do the damage the rest of the time instead of focusing on the job. As we are moving boxes and unpacking, we have discovered multiple pieces of furniture that have been damaged and marred by their carelessness, including an irreplaceable dresser I inherited from my grandfather. We will never use this service again. We wish we had paid more and gotten real, responsible movers! We have continued to find damage as we unpack. These guys damaged almost every piece of furniture they touched. There are also gouges in our freshly painted walls. Help ignored our emails reporting this. We Look elsewhere! read more

This service is awesome! These Dudes are life & money-savers. They helped me move stuff that wouldn't fit in my car. Way cheaper than renting a box truck. And, less stressful than paying off your buddies with beer just to have them not show up. Anyway,... Dude I Need a Truck is professional, affordable, and simple. They have your back. Thanks, Dudes. read more

They were awesome. Super flexible, super reliant. I recommend asking for Conrad Nolan. I had a lot of stuff that was going to require multiple trips using his truck. He told me it was no problem and he went and got a trailer free of charge so that we could fit it all into one move. Also, it was raining and he provided wrap, plastic bags, and covers. During the actual move Conrad was fast and productive. For example, I'm not a strong guy myself, but Conrad took on a lot of the heavy lifting by himself and with his help we moved my couch up and down a flight of stairs with ease. Fitting it in the doorway? No problem. Conrad rotated and flipped it and had it in the living room in about 3 seconds. On top of making the move easy, Conrad was an easy dude to talk to while traveling to my new location. Definitely move with this company and definitely ask for Conrad Nolan. read more

Dude I Need A Truck - Couch with pull out bed, about 6.5 feet - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me - Goleta, California

My dude was OK. Things could've definitely went much smoother. He wasn't mean but he wasn't very friendly or talkative either and didn't communicate well. I had to text my dude first to make sure he would be able to handle my move and verify the time and got a pretty short and blunt reply. He showed up 5 minutes late as well and I was worried he'd be a no show, causing more embarrassment! It doesn't sound like much but the sun was setting and we were picking the items up from a very nice home and neighborhood and didn't want to piss the owners off! Overall I felt pretty awkward and stressed. It works kind of like Lyft/Uber when you wait for someone to accept your ride. I do like how you can adjust a future date and time for a ride. When I initially requested my move and got the text saying they'd find me a dude in "5-15 minutes" it turned more into 20+. Then I decided to cancel it and tried requesting one again waiting over 15 minutes, resulting in a further delay from my original request time (hour+) and I was super worried about waiting for someone to accept my trip, which was transferring a washer/dryer from a house from upper state to Goleta. It was my first time using and finding this app for the SB area after someone had recommended Lugg to me but discovered that was only for the Bay Area/LA. I got quoted $95 for the move which was way cheaper than other estimates I was getting from regular companies ($165+) and was desperate to get our items moved that day. My dude had an interesting mini skinny van but half of it was full of miscellaneous things like a bed. He didn't reveal to us until after that he just installed his ramp on the back of his car. His car & engine also almost didn't start again after getting to the pickup location! Overall our washer/dryer made it 95% safe and sound into our place but it was sketchy and awkward because of his car troubles and lack of friendliness/communication. Watching him try to load the items on and off was borderline high blood pressure! Also sketchy was that I got charged a day later and got a notice that my driver changed after the trip occurred. I made sure to text my original dude to see if this was ok just because I wanted to make sure the right "dude" was getting paid. He said it was ok, but I wish my experience could've matched the other 5 star reviews and had better customer service! The owners did reach out to me and I would give them another chance in the future since they are the most cost/budget friendly option! read more

These "dudes" are now our go-to for anything that needs moving or transporting. They showed up on time, ready to go, and when they had loaded their truck with the pieces of furniture that were to be trucked out to our new home in Goleta, they asked "Do you have anything else to take?" as if they wanted to be sure we weren't forgetting anything! Shawn Parker was our "lead dude" and oversaw our speedy and damage-free move. read more

Dude, it's called Dude I Need a Truck. Best name ever, and it's exactly what it sounds like. Think Uber/Lyft truck share with driver for small loads. I used the Dude to move a mattress to a storage unit, and had him help my husband move a couch between apartments while he was there. I described what I needed in the app when I booked the job, so my guess is that the drivers will self screen for things they can't or won't do, but if you have questions I found their customer service to be really responsive a previous time I got a quote. For small, simple moves and hauling projects this is brilliant. Not sure how useful it would be if you have a ton of stuff to move (you may want to make sure you have at least two people to help with big bulky stuff--and only so much will fit in a pick up), but for my purposes this was exactly what I needed. Actual movers would have been ridiculously overkill. I especially like how easy and fast it is. No need to plan in advance. I scheduled my dude just two hours in advance, and clearly could have had someone there sooner (but I wasn't ready). I love how last minute this was. read more

Excellent service!! My friends and I had to move a couch to a storage unit, and our Dude, Marcus, was super friendly, helpful, and very patient with us! He helped us physically move the couch out of the house, into the truck, and into the storage unit. We had a few problems on our part, not knowing exactly what our storage unit # was (we were sharing with other friends who had forgot to mention it), but he was very patient and flexible, offering to drive us there, and if it didn't work out, drive us to our back-up house. Overall, this service is super, super convenient if you don't have your own truck and don't need one as big or expensive as a Uhaul! We will definitely be using this app again in the future! Thank you, Marcus!! :) read more

I love the dudes, Conrad was awesome, he fit everything I had in his truck which I thought was an impossible task. Super quick, professional, and friendly! I will suggest to anyone I know who needs to move. Thanks Conrad!!! read more

Yelp didn't allow me to leave a 5 Star review last time so I actually took the time and made the effort to return to the site to see if Yelp would allow me to say what I wanted to say all along! Dude, I Need A Truck , is beyond awesome and I wholeheartedly endorse their services ! A definite 5 Stars is deserved! read more

These guys came back quickly with a quote and were available right away. We will use them again!

Seriously, best movers ever. Went above and beyond for us, were fast and efficient. If we ever move again-- I'd definitely use them or recommend them to others. read more

I have a mixed review because I did not receive the type of truck/service that I asked for, which made the moving job take longer than expected. However, the guys who came were professional, courteous, and got the job done. The customer service team worked with me to resolve the issue regarding the additional time/cost fairly. read more

This was my second time to use these "dudes" and they were AWESOME!! Daniel Wayne went over & beyond moving a refrigerator. He's a Super Hero, a Viking, Strong, Big & Buff. He had to remove the doors to fit through the doorway, no problem for Daniel!! Best mover I've ever used, shoot he'd probably do my dishes if I'd asked him to do them! Very responsible, polite and on time. No company compares, when it comes to pleasing the customer. read more

Dude I Need a Truck really saved my bacon. David, my Dude, was the the epitome of professionalism combined with friendliness. It felt more like an old bud who I hadn't seen in a while helping me out, rather than a complete stranger. Any reservations were quickly put to rest. Highly, highly recommend! read more

The guys at DUDE are awesome!! They are helpful, professional, and take care of the items they are moving. As a professional home stager, my husband and I move a LOT of furniture. Needed some guys to help me move from one house to another, and Dude I Need a Truck came through with a two days notice. Other places were completely booked for a couple weeks, but not Dude I Need a Truck. They're also friendly movers with great customer service. Definitely would reccommend! read more

AMAZING!!!! AMAZING!!! AMAZING! I needed help moving my elderly mother out of her house. I had a moving company, but needed extra help getting large items out of the garage, closets, rooms. I called and they were there the next day. So polite, so kind, and not one complaint from them no matter was I asked them to do (there were lots of spiders). No lunch, no breaks. I was over the top impressed! read more

I've used Dude for the past maybe four moves that I've had. One word: CONRAD. He is the go to!! He helped me with the first 3 of my moves and he made it incredibly easy, transparent and fun. He is an awesome man and if you had 100 Conrad's working there, you'd be batting 1000. I've recommended him to all of my friends and coworkers, and those who have had his help on a move cannot stop gushing about how amazing he is. Now, my 3 stars is because on my most recent move I had an awful experience. I used the app to book a move time, and for some reason it only allows you to set up 1 Dude and 1 truck. Now, I was moving an entire apartment and really needed at least 2 Dudes and 2 trucks. I contacted the guy I was assigned and let him know that. He basically told me that he could find a friend that would assist for some extra $$ under the table. Not ideal but I was desperate because I'd just sustained a knee injury and was limping around and in no shape to be lifting anything. The original guy showed up, struggled to move a few things, asked me for help constantly and generally did a terrible job. I'm wondering where his friend was? After a couple trips, we get to my new place with all the stuff, and he leaves to go pick up his friend who did pretty much nothing in terms of moving the big items into my new garage. He then asked for $150 on top of what I paid to Dude for his friend and another $50 for the "inconvenience" of having to go get his friend, and his friend leaving work early. This felt extremely sketchy, and I was super uncomfortable with the whole thing. I honestly just wanted these guys to leave, so I paid them. This review would have been 5 stars if I'd have gotten Conrad, or someone with similar work ethic as him. These guys who showed up were unprofessional, and basically strong-armed me out of way more money than was originally agreed upon. I don't think I'll be using Dude in the future, which is very disappointing because I've been a loyal customer and vocal fan for YEARS. read more

Used dude again, it's basically Uber for a truck - a brilliant business in a tiny town full of sedans - I paid $75 for a table and bench set which I loved, and it was basically given to me - Dude picked up for me down town (in two hours from payment which was awesome) and brought this massive table set to Goleta for $95. Listen it saved me a trip to chiropractor and the Dude Himself was a chiropractor picking up some extra money on a Sunday. He was very very nice man and my table which cost me $170 totally i get sooo many compliments on and yes I could have borrowed a truck but what if my friends truck got scratched up? It was worth the $95 all day long. read more

Great company! DUDE was simple to schedule when many other companies needed several weeks notice. They are organized, on time, and efficient. They moved us from one house to another. Not an easy task for a family of four. The guys at Dude are professional and prompt. Moving can be a stressful process, but it's definitely made simpler with an awesome company like Dude I Need a Truck. We loved their service and will recommend them to friends and family who are in "need of a truck." Mahalo Dudes for all your hard work! read more

This past weekend was Isla Vista's UCSB annual end-of-the year move out ... which roughly translates to "72 hours of chaos and no available moving trucks." My son had a 10am reservation with one of the local smarmy U Haul peddlers, but upon arrival it became apparent that our "friends" at said rental facility had offered at least 8x the number of reservations as they had trucks. I told my son "there must be a better way." And after a quick search on Yelp, we found "the Dudes" and all our worries disappeared. Within 10 minutes (literally), Dude, I Need A Truck had our "Dude" (Ted, who was awesome) en route to my son's apartment. Ted expertly loaded his truck, tied it all down and helped unload upon arrival at the storage unit. I cannot say enough about what a positive, professional, cost effective and convenient service this is. If you need a truck, the "Dude" abides. read more

Real dude, real truck, real helpful! Super convenient alternative to renting a moving truck. All said and done Dude I Need a Truck is cheaper than renting and I got help moving some heavy appliances! Dude j need a truck was fast, efficient, affordable (between me and all of my housemates), and hassle free. We requested a truck just a couple hours before we needed it as a last resort sort of thing, and Conrad came to the rescue. He was so relaxed, experienced, kind, and easy to work with! We are definitely coming back to Conrad next time we need a dude and a truck. read more

I've used Dude multiple times (mostly small stuff like a frig, couch, etc) ...they knock it out of the ballpark every time. I highly recommend them as they're always reliable, work hard, and not to mention, these Dudes have exceptional attitudes too. read more

I bought a couch on craigslist and needed help getting it to my apartment. Dude I Need a Truck responded quickly and they were very friendly via text (much more friendly than another mover I called). They had no problem scheduling someone last minute. For $50 I do wish they had sent two dudes so that I didn't have to help, but I think that's the going rate for these things. Conrad was super friendly and you could tell he knew what he was doing when it came to moving furniture! Definitely recommend this company. read more

Amazing! Jacob was very helpful with getting everything set up and provided exemplary customer service. The movers were so nice and did a great job of moving a heavy, bulky treadmill up a lot of curvy stairs. Affordable, friendly, and convenient. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for movers! read more

Great service; however, need to work out the kinks in the app. I booked a dude for Saturday am. When I checked Friday night to make sure all was set, noticed the reservation was for 9pm Saturday night. No problem, used the iPhone app to text our dude David (who was so helpful and friendly!). We were able to reconfirm Saturday am start in a few minutes with no issue. Saturday morning, David texted when he was on his way and received the app notification. After the first load I requested a dude "right now" with David and his phone right next to me. Two other dudes picked up my request first. After the 3rd time and talking to the other two dudes, finally hooked up with David again for the 2nd and final load for us. It took a solid 30 min out of our move day, which sucked. Not the end of the world. Given that the app is just released, they have some tweaks to make, but overall extremely pleased with the service and overall ease and cost. After those tweaks I'd give dude I need a touch 5 stars. Sooooo easy! read more

Amazing service. Our dude arrived quickly, efficiently loaded a large grill into his truck and drove it to its destination and helped us move it in. Will definitely use this service next time. read more

Do you have a big brother? A linebacker for a boyfriend? And a giant truck? If you don't, fear not! This service is for us! These Dudes are amazing. They worked magic to haul a "free gift" that weighed 350 lbs and had to go up a flight of stairs. They were on time, on target and all around fantastic. I highly recommend this service, they are miracle workers! THANK YOU DUDES!! I will be using y'all again for sure. I consider ya family :) read more

Wow, what great service! The "dude" aka Marcus arrived on time and was very helpful. He went above and beyond to help me out with my move. We were initially only going to move my bed and two bikes into my new place, but there was an old bed in the spot I was going to move my new bed. Marcus was more than helpful with helping me move the unexpected bed out. It took a lot of extra time because we actually had to break it to get it out of the doorway. He was kind and helpful the whole time even though we didn't originally agree on moving the extra bed. I will 100% be using this service again! More people need to know about this!! read more

Dude is the first moving service I've ever used, and I am super happy with my choice! I got quotes from most of moving companies in the area and DUDE was by far the most cost-effective. I requested my job less than a week prior to my move time, and was quickly accommodated with an easy check-out process and friendly service. They kept me updated on who was going to help me move and the other details regarding the process. The guy who helped me move texted me 24 hours ahead of time to confirm his arrival. Last minute, my move ended up being a bit more complicated than I expected, and the mover kindly worked with me during every step of the way. The ONLY caveat about using this service is that the truck which was provided was a standard truck with standard capacity. I had to do two trips to the storage, which is time costly - but I still saved a nice chunk of money by using this service instead of the others who have large moving trucks. Aside from that, I would definitely recommend DUDE to anyone in the area that needs some strong assistance and a truck! read more

This company is awesome right on time Carlos is fast & nice i will definitely get their service so happy & highly recommended 5*

What can I compare it to? Finding the holy grail comes in a close 2nd which is near impossible. Just like trying to find that so called friend to help you move something after you helped him carry a thousand year old Chinese couch up six flights of stairs. Oh don't let me forget to tell you, that I did this with a busted shoulder after being run over by a Prius while riding a motorcycle, TRUE STORY. His contact got deleted and replaced with DUDE. read more

A few days ago I realized that none of my friends were free to help me move on the 1st. In a panic, I hit up craigslist but generally they cost upwards of $75 per hour for two guys and a truck, when all I really needed was one guy and a truck. Then I found Dude, I Need A Truck. I sent an email and got a response immediately, we sent several quick response emails and worked everything out so I got exactly what I needed for a reasonable price. My Dude, Miles, was such a sweetheart and a self starter, immediately helped me pack things up. I don't have a lot of things, but we packed, drove to my new place and unpacked in exactly one hour. I will be using them again soon, and would recommend them to anyone who needs to use, especially college students since I believe they have a mobile app which makes things so much easier! read more
