The hassle of moving was on my horizon all summer. Would I make the jump if an opportunity presented itself? Yes! Looking around at all my "stuff", I knew I was in trouble. It's amazing how quickly one can fill a space. I was at full capacity. Whenever I have a project, Yelp, has been wonderful in getting me the assistance needed. Elite movers was the first (and forever my only) company to request lots of pictures with all cupboards open, an approximation of cost and duration, and customer service that took the time to answer all questions. The move day went off without incident. My crew consisted of four strong fellas-my crap being packed left and right, furniture being moved, boxes toted off, things I wasn't taking headed for the trash etc. They were all done by 1:30 or so and headed to the new place so I stopped for pizza/soda for them. All boxes unloaded and furniture placed where requested. Elite finished their job by about 3:30. I like them less now. The remaining boxes to unpack seem to have multiplied in the garage like bunnies but at least they are in one place. Great value for the money and no stress with packing things safely! The extremely high Star rating on Yelp is a True testament to Elite Movers high level of precision and honesty in moving services! We cannot thank them enough for saving us thousands of dollars and our new flat! We unfortunately booked with another moving company on yelp that had a good rating and was cheap! A week out of our move in date. Our housing agency (HOA) required the moving company to provide their certificate of insurance (COI) and their CA Movers permit number. Without submitting the basic credentials from the moving company, the HOA would not permit us to move into our new place! Even worse, we would forfeit our $7000 deposit!! To our surprise and disappointment the moving company would not respond back to us once we requested this information!! We called the bureau of household goods and services, and they had no record of the so called moving company on Yelp! We were frantic last minute to find a company that was actually licensed and insured to do business in California. There were multiple so called companies on yelp without a license or Insurance!! WTH We fortunately contacted Elite movers and talked to Rudy, he provided us with his MTR number and insurance right away! He was able to fit us into his schedule last minute. I used Elite Movers to move a 300 lb washer-dryer from my garage to my upstairs laundry room (very narrow staircase made it difficult to take up the stairs). In addition, they needed to move my existing washer and dryer units downstairs over the same narrow staircase. Rudy at Elite Movers used a hoist to move all three heavy pieces over my rear balcony and was very efficient in managing the whole operation. Their general experience in moving very heavy items over difficult obstructions was amazing and I would strongly recommend them for moving household goods. I tried multiple companies and they were the only one that sounded like they knew what they were doing and I am very glad I chose their services. I discovered Elite Movers in 2021 when I had to move a TON of fine art, delicate collectibles, and large pieces of furniture that I couldn't imagine even fitting out of the front door. I was so nervous that my things were going to be broken, missing, or tossed around because I had very poor experiences with other moving companies in the area. Yesterday was moving day again into a new home, with more delicate objects, more art pieces, and more furniture, but I knew exactly who I was going to call for my move!! The team arrived at 8 AM to begin packing and loading, and the same attention to detail was immediately apparent. The quality of this move was just as incredible as the one in 2021. The way the guys packed my art was perfect, and I was really impressed again. I had already packed away many of my fragile items, which all made it to my new home in perfect condition. The guys were carrying the craziest stuff into the house, such as a 400-pound safe, 85-inch televisions, etc. They were working TIRELESSLY for almost 10 hours, and my partner and I were baffled at how hard they worked. I was very happy that I had found Elite Movers in 2021, and I always recommend them to any of my family and friends for any moves. Rather than look up the distance, whoever I talked to decided that it was 100 miles of travel. According to Google maps, it's just under 34 miles. The phone quote was $750.00 for the delivery and $150.00 for gas. At $5.00/gallon, that's 30 gallons of gas. The total is almost 50% higher than the next highest estimate. read more

They charged us for 11 hours (the move from beginning to end was 8 hours)!! They were putting even the chairs in boxes and they managed to take he whole day. After doing my research on the various moving companies in Santa Barbara, I decided to go with Elite Movers because of other reviews emphasizing their communication and high-quality service. Unfortunately, we did not get either of those things. I contacted Rudy on May 21st (a month prior to our move-out date) and we set our appointment to be 9am on Wednesday, June 17th. As our move-out date drew near, I messaged Rudy the Friday before asking him to call me cause I had some questions, which he did not do (although he did confirm our move-out time for 9am June 17th via text). The morning came, and Rudy texted me around 8:45am saying they were running late and would be at my place around 9:20-9:30. I responded saying okay. However, they actually did not show up until 10 am. Rudy apologized for being late and got to work quickly. This was an hour later than our scheduled time, and threw the rest of our schedule off balance. Because they had other things already in their moving truck, our personal items did not fit in securely (and we don't have an excess of items). They drove from Santa Barbara to Oxnard with the truck door partially open and our couch sticking out (however they did wrap it in plastic to keep it from being damaged). While my fiance and I waited for them to arrive at our new apartment, they texted us saying they had stopped to get lunch and would be there afterwards. Okay..... I think a heads up a little more in advance would've been nice. We had literally been waiting for them. Finally, when they did arrive, my fiance and I left the apartment so they could do their thing. Once we got back, I asked Rudy if they were able to assemble the bed (which in our initial conversations he assured me that they took care of disassembly/assembly), and he asked me if that was something that I wanted him to do. Huh? You disassembled my bed in our prior apartment.... wouldn't assembling it be part of the disassembly/assembly process? After all these mishaps, Rudy didn't give us any form of reparation. Absolutely nothing. He just rushed off to their next appointment. We tipped both him and the other mover well, $20 each, because they didn't break anything and we are reasonable people. I can tell Rudy is a nice guy and works hard, and they did work quickly once they were moving things. However, the lack of communication and professionalism left our experience wanting. I used my phone to video each room and sent to them to help estimate time, size and needed resources. I got an estimate from that and we locked the date and resources down. The crew showed up and did a great job. They were very friendly and showed care with our possessions. We had lived at our home for 19 years and it took two truck loads. Rudy and his team came in to the rescue. Had a big move relocating from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. I had went through u-haul to hire and reserve movers from a "company" called Santa Barbara Moving Labor. Reserved for the morning to help load my truck from 9a-11a. After waiting and hour, I called numerous times to get a hold of the person I confirmed my reservation with to get an ETA only then to be told "since I was giving attitude, his guys weren't going to show." At this point they were over an hour late and I wouldn't make it down to LA in time to meet the movers I hired to help me unload at my new address. I called movers going down the Yelp list, but most were already booked for the day and couldn't get to me since it was very last minute. Rudy and Elite movers came to save the day. Rudy came by to assess what was needed to be loaded up (all furniture, moving boxes, appliances, etc). He then was able to get 3 of his movers to come by late afternoon to pack my truck. They were quick and very efficient getting everything in secured within the hour. It was like a game of real life Tetris, the way they stuffed my truck. Well it's tough to find good movers but tougher to find great movers. But surprisingly enough we were pleasantly surprised to have found great movers. It all starts with Rudy and then his crew. Rudy and his crew are very detailed movers. They take that extra step to be above and beyond the rest in the industry. Unfortunately, I've moved a few times so I can see the difference out there. What makes it all more interesting is that Rudy accommodated us on extremely short notice and traveled 45 minutes to help us out. A couple things that made this a great experience was: They volunteered to put pads on all our furniture at the new house so not to scratch our wood floors, no extra charge! They broke down all the boxes and hauled them away, no extra charge! Provided an 18 ft lift for 3rd story access, no extra charge! They even swept out my garage at the end of the day Did I say these guys hustle. I definitely did not feel like they were slow playing me to run the bill up. I chose Elite Movers & Packing Services based on their 5 star rating on Yelp. I have never been more disappointed by a company ranked at a 5 star level. I sent a message to the company via Yelp for a quote. I communicated via phone and text with The owner R. R provided m with a quote based on my 2 bedroom townhome and I received an estimate of 5-9 hours for packing and moving at a rate of 3 movers for $235/hour. I had 3 other businesses quote. The rate was comparable. I chose the company (Elite) based on their 5 star rating.. The move was from SB to Goleta (a distance of approximately 7 miles) I received no check-ins ahead of the move date. I had to proactively request verification of the date/time of the move. No one reached out to me after my first contact. The owner did respond immediately to my texts of verification: Only after I confirmed dates, I was sent a 'contract.' The day of the move, the movers showed up 35 minutes late. They did text.me that they were running late. From 9am-3pm - it took 3 packers to pack a 2 bedroom townhouse. They missed 5 bathroom cabinets,4 kitchen cabinets and countless other small items that I had to quadruple check. It felt like the first time 2/3 if the packers ever worked in this field. They left water bottles and trash everywhere. I constantly had to remind them what they had to pack. They brought a truck that way too small fit my 2 bedroom townhouse,. Out of an abundance of frustration at their incredibly slow pace, I ended up packing the last 5 hours I was charged for. I paid an incredibly high rate and was the "4th packer/mover". I basically paid for my own time for the last 5 hours. I bought lunch for the 3 employees ($56) and tipped the 3 employees (($120). They put in a 12 hour overall day. Full disclosure- I notified the owner R that I would be leaving an accurate accounting of my experience. Buyer beware of trusting a 5 star rating. . Do not recommend. read more

I needed help buttoning up a small 100 ft.³ shipping container that was full of valuables including many musical instruments. Rudy sent two young guys out only three days after I had called him and gave me the best quote of any of the companies I contacted. They arrived on time with good communication, then Rudy himself showed up to give them some guidance and pull the container out of the garage, which was a good idea since it was getting too tall to take out with a forklift. After that they were able to finish the job within an hour and we put the top on and it felt very tight and secure. Since the job took shorter than we had initially thought, Rudy even gave me a modest discount on the quoted price! Rudy was extremely communicative, quick to come over and give us an estimate that undercut the competition, without any compromises. Elite movers came and moved my apartment into my new condo. They were professional, efficient and went out of their way to ensure that I was entirely pleased. They broke down and put together the bed. They often jogged between loads. I moved to a condo that had stairs going down, so the poor guys had to manually schlep almost all the boxes without a dolly. They made quick work of the move and always ensured that they handled my furniture well, including taking special care of some antiques. They are the last movers I will ever use locally, and they will be my first call every time. Oh, forgot to mention. There was a mix up on dates, and Rudy had to move from a promised Sunday to a Monday afternoon. This was an inconvenience due to having to work, and then taking time off to move. Rudy made it right. Buyer Beware..! My daughter and I contracted with Rudy for two moves from one location. One was a local move and the other was packing a trailer for a long haul half way across the country. Rudy promised a smooth process. He told us the precious art work and collectibles would be handled with care and wrapped carefully. He told us they would be careful not to mix up the items that would be going to different locations. He told us lots of things. We felt confident about the move. Let me back up for a moment. Our move was hectic. We were not as prepared as we should have been. There was more "stuff" than anyone thought there would be. There was so much extra stuff, the trailer was completely full. But all of that should not mean furniture would be damaged, my precious art work was found shoved into boxes -- not even wrapped. My brand new refrigerator and freezer were both dented. But wait, there's more. When I confronted Rudy he was defensive and combative. He was full of excuses. He blamed me. He blamed the driver of the long haul truck. He never once just said "I'm sorry you were unhappy." "I'm sorry things didn't go as planned." Nope, he just tried to argue it away without accepting any responsibility. I'm sure he will respond to this telling you it was completely my fault and he is not responsible for anything. We eventually settled things and parted ways. I would NEVER recommend Rudy just based on his behavior. I'm still unpacking and finding damaged items. I will have to live with that. But what I can't live with is letting you use this company.
