Stay away from this company. Michael is a very unethical person and dumps all his waste at the beach (and I'm sure charged a dump fee to the customer) as you'll notice from another yelp review. You'll also notice that Mike responds to that review saying that he fired the driver that was responsible for dumping at the beach...only thing is he was the driver (picture attached)! On top of all that, they ran over my surfboard during the process and he said he would pay to get it fixed and it's been over 2 weeks and nothing. That completely filled the dumpster and left a bunch of stuff laying outside the dumpster in the ground! When another surfer took pictures of the license plate and confronted them, the driver got in the truck and was in such a hurry to leave, he ran over someone's Surfboard! read more

We booked this company about a week in advance. Initially we were booked for a 10am move but Michael asked if we could push it up to 9am which we agreed to. At 11:12 PM the night before, Michael texted that he had "overbooked." Rather than asking if rescheduling was possible, he stated, "I NEED TO reschedule your job," offering a 5 PM arrival for the NEXT day or pushing the move to a couple days later. That is not a reasonable solution with less than 24 hours' notice. There was no apology and no attempt to accommodate the inconvenience caused. After that message, there was no follow-up communication. Additionally, we were told the company does not carry insurance, and that "our word is our insurance." Customers can decide for themselves whether that is acceptable when hiring movers. Based on our experience, this was unprofessional, poorly handled, and extremely stressful. We would not use or recommend this company. Mama Boy Movers stepped in last minute and handled the move professionally. read more

Michael showed up right on time with a crew of four, and they worked hard and efficiently. They were careful with all of our belongings, kept up great energy, and had an awesome vibe both within their team and with us. Michael even went above and beyond by fixing our TV stand that had been missing a screw for a while. He left it sturdier than when we bought it! Their prices were very reasonable and better than other quotes I had received. Mike and team came out on short notice to move some big/heavy house basics and some small stuff from Camarillo to Newbury Park for a local move. They did a thoughtful job, not damaging anything, completed everything as requested on time, and pleasant folks to talk to. We had to reschedule a couple times, so they should definitely try to be more organized and err on more communication than less. I've used them twice, only because they are the only people local to Ojai that I know of and I only had one room of furniture to move. The first time they were over an hour late but did a good job. The second time they were 4 hours late and did a so-so job and charged more. Communication was poor and their voice mailbox was full and wouldn't take any more messages. It seems like the time was padded with them having to re-load their truck for an hour before they started on my stuff, which was just one room of furniture. My husband and I just moved outside of Ventura county and inquired with Michael's Moves. From the start Michael was very communicative and friendly. He came over and checked our place and then gave us an estimated quote to move. Day of move him and his team came and wasted no time. They worked very hard to take all of our boxes and furniture. They commuted to our new location and started back up unpacking. They even dismantled and remantled our TV. Staff were nice and made us feel comfortable with our furniture. I've used Michael's Moves twice now and both experiences have been great! Michael and his team are reliable, careful, have the right equipment to get the job done and were kind and professional too! The first move, I had purchased a piece of heavy exercise equipment on Facebook Marketplace but didn't have the strength or truck to pick it up. They were able to get it to me the same day I called! The second move was a whole two bedroom apartment, all the big stuff that we couldn't handle on our own like beds, tables, dressers, washers/dryers etc. and lots of items that needed to be lifted up a set of stairs. It was actually for my sister who was super stressed about trying to do it on her own. They fit her in the very next day, coordinated everything with her and kept payment info private with me as requested (a gift to her she didn't need to know the cost), my sister said they were timely, kind and so helpful! This company sent out a truck that was too small even after we amended the amount of stuff and advised him it was more than originally stated. Consequently the move bled into two days and the estimate increased from around 600.00 to 2200.00! He promised a senior citizen discount that we didn't receive and he got into a fight with his worker at our new location. I heard a box drop and items crashing. Three things were broken which I forgave but the next day I found two heirloom plates broken in half. I did the research and sent him photos of the destroyed dinner plates as well as links to the cost of replacement. He offered one excuse after another but kept saying he would take care of it and blew me off 5 times before he finally did. I've never had to work this hard to get satisfaction from a vendor that we are entitled to! No senior discount and no customer service. At the end he didn't want to put the refund through the normal channels but offered a personal check, Venmo or PayPal. Be cautious, I don't think he has any insurance at this point and buyer beware. read more

Michael was super quick to respond, and he took the time to customize a quote for my specific needs (other companies just responded with their generic default response that had nothing to do with my request). On top of that great service, Michael then came in with a lower quote than everyone else - because he actually took the time to listen and customize his rate to the job (which was moving a piano). These guys were great. I had four guys move me out of my apartment in Oxnard to a house in Ventura and they did a great job. All the furniture was carefully wrapped and they were efficient in their time. Everyone was very polite and professional. Great value for the service they provide. Mike did a great job helping me move. For me it was a short of notice but they still accommodated for my lack of time, which I really appreciate. They arrived right on time and I was out of my house in less than two hours. I had a most of my bedroom already packed but they handled the bigger things like dresser, giant wall mirror, and mattress by covering it in protective plastic and padding. Just make sure you let them know what you have. And arriving at my new place was a breeze as well. They handled moving everything in my second story bedroom with ease and care. Michael's Movers .... let me tell you, Michael's Movers and Services LLC are amazing!   Our relationship all started when we started a house remodel.   They came and packed up our stuff and put in a "Pod" and we re-scheduled them to be back... a couple months later to help unpack.  Well that turned out to be 9-12 months... Before Michael left, he said, you know we offer all sorts of services, even if you just need a heavy fountain moved from there to here... large planter?  anything!  really?  Wow?  So just anything?  yes! Since that day I have used them to move all our patio furniture... MORE than once from here too there. Move used bricks and pavers and flag stone from our house to my sons house, along with a massive piece with Solid Granite They always leaving things better and cleaner than when arrived, and are always polite. Continuation of my last post: Michael texted me this past Sunday at around 9 p.m., accusing me of lying in my original post. He was hostile and aggressive in his texts. Instead of trying to soothe and validate my situation, he wanted to gather "evidence" against me to prove my post was inaccurate. He wrote that I did not mention the "gracious" discount he gave me when I had to screenshot and highlight where I did. MICHAEL had the *audacity* to accuse me of trying to destroy his business... like I have that power anyway. I am a young(ish) short female, I already felt completely uncomfortable about this man, and when he was finishing up the move, I wanted him out of my space as soon as possible. In fact, I had a lot of anxiety posting this because of any retaliation... a business should NEVER make someone feel unsafe in any way. If he did not like my post, instead of trying to prove me wrong (which just shows he did not read the post accurately), he should have moved on and make efforts to do better. Don't worry, Yelp World, I have receipts. I had to block this man, because of how aggressive and hostile he was. I should not have engaged, but I did. I hope this post prevents anyone, especially women, from feeling the fear this man caused me. How he texted me late at night, proved how problematic he is. I am not sure if he is like this to others. Michael, let me make it clear what my issues are: **Not listening when I told you your men were slow. They were not working efficiently and my boyfriend had to guide them to make sure they were not hurting themselves **Your men could not figure out how to get my sofa out and ruined it. **Blaming me for anything I had concerns with **Charging me for the WHOLE day when your men weren't working **The way you spoke to me the day of and through text. **If a woman (OR ANYONE) tells you they feel uncomfortable, don't accuse them of lying, you should change your tone and apologize for making them feel uncomfortable. **I find you SEXIST and self-indulgent. Did it again. Experienced another one of Michael's moves. Him and his crew and professional, friendly and careful with your belongings. I needed to move some extremely heavy vending machines, and him and his team did just that. They went to three different locations to pick up and dropped off for me. They exceeded my expectations. I hired Micheals to I've my 1 bedroom apartment from Oxnard to Downtown LA. This included packing up my kitchen. He suggested coming in Friday, when I'm at work, to start the packing which was not possible. I was quoted 1800 and paid 2150. I had 4 movers, who were all great at their jobs. They all know I lived near the stairs but could.move. The truck to the other side of pk lot to be near rather elevator, which they opted not to do. I left them around 1130 to head to my new place. They didn't get there until well after 4 pm taking an hour for lunch which I was not charged. The quote of 7 hours labor including packing turned into 11 hours. That 4 guys moving. 1 bedroom apartment from oxnard to LA starting at 8am and finishing just after 7pm. No excuse can be given that would convince me that a team of 3 could this job and be done by 4 or 5. The quoted fuel cost of 89 somehow turned to 100 and when I spoke to Michael to see if we could meet halfway at settle at 2000 he wouldn't even consider it. Again the crew was great. Knew what they were doing and did it well. Their time management was horrible and Mike as the boss could care less. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. THERE ARE BETRER OPTIONS. 4 guys. 1 bedroom apartment and a move of no mor that 50 miles or so. These guy choosing to use stairs instead of the elevator cost me maybe two hours of pay and if you have to babysit a professional moving crew ultimately you want to chose a different company. read more

Selected this company because of the reviews I did not have a positive experience. Guys loaded my things in less than three hours. It took them over 2 hours to drive 11 miles from Camarillo to TO with no reason given for such a delay. I discovered the next day that they damaged my Lenovo computer tower and modem/router that I should have transported it myself! I already moved all antique breakables by myself and am glad I did! So far I have spent $ 165 to fix the tower and was inconvenienced to return the router/ modem to Spectrum for replacement. Stay clear of these people unless you move all your smaller items yourself. I feel they took advantage of a senior citizen financially by wasting my time and being less than careful with my things. read more
