Broken floor lamp shade from the move

EDIT - NEW REVIEW: 5 Stars Robert called and texted me soon after my review went live. He let me know he had Covid really bad and was in the hospital during the time I was trying to reach him and offered to reimburse our lamp at full cost plus an extra $100 for the inconvenience. I really appreciate the gesture and can in good conscience change my review to a 5 star review! ORIGINAL REVIEW: 3 Stars I wanted to give a 5 star review as the guys that came to do the move were friendly, professional, and very hard working. They were SUPER quick with moving the boxes that we had ready. I did wish they asked for a little more direction once they were done moving the boxes we had ready though -- they just started packing and moving the stuff that we didn't have ready so now we're unable to locate some things. But that's our bad for not having everything ready (but it's hard with a baby!) At the beginning, they arrived on time at 9am but had the wrong truck and wrong number of people. We ordered a truck for 2 bed 1 bath, with 3 workers. They arrived with a smaller truck and only 2 workers. It wasn't the crew's fault, I think Robert had just entered the info incorrectly. They had to go switch trucks with the other people who took the big truck and call one more worker in so we didn't get to start until close to 10am. They started the clock for us at 9:25 though (but whatever). They had to make a second trip and on their trip back that should've only been 10 minutes (15 minutes max with traffic), they didn't show up for about 30 minutes. I get that they need a lunch break because they are human and were working super hard but they never clocked out for that break. Regardless, we didn't argue with them about the time they clocked and gave them a tip as well. Robert came to check in during the move to see how things were, which was nice. I only wished he kept the same level of customer care after we paid. We realized the lamp shade of our floor lamp was broken during the move. I sent him a photo and asked him what the process was to get a reimbursement twice and he never bothered to respond, even though on their contract it says that we are entitled to a reimbursement. In terms of cost, these are his rates: $85 per man $170 2 men $255 3 men I'm not sure if he purposely under quoted to get the sale or we just seriously had way more stuff than he anticipated, even though we chatted on the phone and I explained everything. But his quote says $730 total for 2 guys at 4 hours (even though I said 3 guys) and a $50 fuel/mileage charge. One of the workers did tell us at the beginning that this would take at least 6 hours though. We appreciated the heads up for that at least. The total ended up being $1,948 total for 3 guys at 7 hours (including a $50 fuel/mileage fee and a surprise $50 supplies charge) + tip. This is the first time we've hired movers for a house move and it was definitely necessary with a baby. Overall, I'm glad they helped us move because we really needed it but cost-wise, I feel like there were hidden fees and they were being a little shady with how they charged us for time. We didn't argue with them but I also wouldn't recommend them. Also, Robert didn't seem to care about providing any customer service for things being broken after he's been paid.

These were not items we packed ourselves, yet they were handled poorly enough to result in significant damage. When we filed a claim, Movegreen offered only $0.60 per pound coverage, plus a small additional "good faith" amount of $650 -- a tiny fraction of the replacement cost for furniture exceeding $35,000. Even after escalating to ownership, they refused any further compensation and closed the claim. While the move itself was logistically smooth, the lack of accountability for damaged items and the minimal settlement was extremely disappointing. I would caution anyone moving valuable or heavy furniture to carefully review coverage options and understand that Movegreen may not provide meaningful compensation if damage occurs as a result of their handling.

From Chelsea, to Brooke, to Frank onsite, to John...the entire team showed up for me. It was very easy to schedule and transparent. I was a nervous mover and they always made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Even when I thought there were missing items (turns out there were not) they scrambled to make sure there wasn't a single lost item. On my move-in day they had a nearby team finish early so they called them over and I had 6 team members get all my household inside in under 2 hours, including building back up my complicated office desk and king sized bed frame. Very grateful for their team and process. Highly recommend.

They worked all day to move a whole house full of big furniture to a new house and reassembled everything. Their work ethic, efficiency, hard work and friendliness was all above and beyond. I came across the company by pure luck on the internet and I was not disappointed. These guys are honest, reasonable and trustworthy. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I definitely will be using them again in the future!!

I spoke with several and compared prices. While some were cheaper, I quickly realized that many were either not licensed or not straightforward when answering my questions. I kept searching until I connected with Tevin from Max Protection Moving. From the very beginning, he was polite, professional, and extremely clear in his communication. He explained the ETA, answered all my questions about the truck size and what would be needed, and gave me a flat price upfront. They were even able to accommodate my scheduling requests for both pickup and drop-off. I also sent pictures of my storage unit so they could better understand my needs, which helped lock in the details. Even though I was nervous handling this move by myself and booking a company online through Yelp, Tevin's professionalism gave me the confidence to move forward with them. When moving day came, Joe, the co-owner, arrived with his team, and I immediately felt at ease. Joe is not only professional and efficient, but also incredibly charming, strong, and reassuring. He walked me through the storage rooms, explained how they planned to move everything, and showed me that they had the process under control. His confidence and calm demeanor instantly gave me peace of mind. Soon after, Tevin arrived with the truck, and between the three of them, the teamwork was seamless. As a petite woman managing a long-distance move on my own, I couldn't have asked for a better crew. They worked so smoothly that I was able to relax and focus on other things while they handled the heavy lifting. One detail that really impressed me was how they gave me access to track the truck's location for the next 24 hours. Knowing exactly where my belongings were at all times gave me so much peace of mind. And what stood out even more was their attitude. Moving is hard work, yet they approached every challenge with positivity and a smile. I've seen movers sigh and complain when faced with heavy or awkward items, but Joe and his team tackled everything with energy and good spirits. Honestly, it inspired me -- I thought to myself, this is the kind of attitude I want to bring to my own work every day. At my new place, two additional teammates joined, and once again I was impressed. They were tall, polite, charming gentlemen with the same professionalism as Joe and Tevin. They carefully asked me where I wanted items placed, took great care not to step on my rugs, and even put blankets under artwork to protect it. While unloading the truck, they also cleaned up as they went -- folding blankets, removing plastic wrap, and keeping everything organized. Before I knew it, they had already set up my bedroom, including building my bed without needing any instructions. They were smart, strong, polite, handsome, and organized -- truly the full package. Please, don't hesitate to hire this company. Their prices are absolutely worth the peace of mind, and their positive energy is priceless. These are good men, raised right, and your grandma would be ecstatic to see how they work. I feel blessed to have found them through Yelp -- they made my long-distance move smooth, safe, and even enjoyable. Thank you Joe, thank you Tevin, and thank you to the whole team (I wish I remembered all the names!) for making my new beginning such a positive one.

They packed everything, nothing was damaged, and she was extremely happy with their service. Fast forward to 2026. We lived in Simi Valley and were moving to Minden, NV. We knew we wanted Mammoth. Originally spoke to Walter who was knowledgeable and patient. He said it would cost more since they had to come down to Simi, which we appreciated knowing, but we had our minds made up. Didn't even call another company for an estimate. Walter came down to assess our stuff (and we had a lot of stuff!) in order to give an accurate quote. And he was prompt when answering texts with questions I had. On moving day, Walter called to let us know when to expect the movers. Upon their arrival, they introduced themselves, were friendly, polite, and clean, effectively wrapped and packed the items we hadn't already packed, and nicely said their good-byes upon leaving. Walter called afterward to make sure we were happy. On deliver day, Walter texted, and the driver (whom we met in Simi) called, to let us know his estimated arrival time. The rest of the crew was hired from up here, and they, too, were friendly, polite, and clean. Upon completion, each one sought us out to say good-bye. I've unpacked about 3/4 of the boxes and so far, all items were delivered unscathed. I'd heard horror stories about moving companies and movers, but I can confidently say that is not our story. From the quote, to the packing, ending with the delivery, they were professional, communicative, and caring. I wholeheartedly recommend Mammoth Moving & Storage.
