The Platinum Movers is a group of professionals. They are on time, well prepared, experienced and kind. On time: our moving time was very tight and the other movers were delayed more than four hours and we had to look for another moving service. We were introduced to The Platinum Movers by our family friend. The Platinum crew came in an hour and started to work right away! Well Prepared: The Platinum Movers came with a HUGE track, blankets to cover furniture, vinyl wrap and boxes. They took all of the waste into the truck. Then, put furniture and household items that needed to be in a metal moving container separately at the same time. We finished clearing up the property much faster than the original plan because of this quick and flexible well prepared work. Experienced: we asked Rob how we can safely wrap some fragile items that need to be delivered by a big metal moving container for a long distance. Rob said,"Okay, let me see". After we arrived home, we found everything was fine and well, including light stands and light bulbs. Kind: The Platinum Movers were friendly and introduced their name at the beginning and started to work right away. They even let us use some plastic wrap when we were wrapping some pictures. We did not find any major mess in the rooms and street after they left. They accepted the credit card, gave us a clear explanation and gave us a receipt. When I called Platinum Movers the owner Robert was very helpful and knowledgeable about what I would need in order to complete my move. I have a couple of BIG items that in order to move I would be needing a crane for. Robert explained to me the process of which I would need to take in order to move all my belongings safely and he also was upfront and completely HONEST with me stating that even though he would very much like to be the one who moves me he just did not have the resources(crane) to complete my move. Robery did not try to sell me on any bull**** reasons of what else he could do for me but told me upfront what I needed and also referred me to a moving company that could complete my move. I have never come across a moving company who gave me such honesty and who refers business to other companies. Usually the company will try to sell me on reasons why they are the best and try to keep my business even if it means destroying my property in the process. But not Robert and Platinum Movers. He simply broke down exactly what I needed to move and explained in detail why he was not able to accomodate me. For just the honesty alone I give Robert and Platinum Movers 5 stars. Unfortunately, I will not be having Platinum Movers moving my belongings due to my oversize items. But if I ever have to move again I will definitely be choosing Robert and Platinum Movers. I live in L.A. and needed a company to move my mom from Santa Barbara to Carpinteria. I left a message and Robert called me back within 30 minutes. After speaking on the phone and getting a quote I decided to with Platinum Movers. We had to change the move date out by two weeks and Robert was very accommodating. On the day of the move Eric and Angel showed up, they were both professional & very nice to my whole family, truly a pleasure to have them both. They covered her couches, mattresses and large mirrors. Everything stayed clean and nothing was broken, which made her extremely happy. However, if I was going to change anything I would have had Robert come out to her residence and see what needed to be moved, covered etc. I gave him a good idea of what needed to be moved over the phone, (except a few things I did not realize like 7 plants and we were closer to 35 -40 boxes when I had originally said 25-30), so I figured it would cost a little more. My original estimate was approximately $500-$600, the day of the move the final price was $1105. The hourly rate and fuel charges Robert quoted originally were exactly the same on moving day. The calculation that was off were the "hours" it would take to move her items, causing the original quote to almost double. Again I would recommend Platinum Movers, we were very happy overall, I would just get a more detailed quote. read more

We called Platinum Movers in February to come give us an estimate after reading all the good reviews on Yelp. After Rob came to our home to give us a quote we were so impressed we canceled a meeting we had set up with another moving company. In March as moving day drew closer we texted Rob to see if it was possible to move us earlier since there were hints at that time of possible business closures. He texted us back that afternoon and said they could move us the next day. We were very thankful and because of that we were still able to have Cox come into our new home and install our cable system before that was discontinued. They showed up promptly and did a beautiful job wrapping everything. The crew hustled but were very careful at the same time. They were also great about listening to us explain where we wanted the furniture to go and they cleaned up after themselves before they left. We can't recommend them highly enough. The move was successful, they showed up on time and ready to go as promised. They did a great job of wrapping all the furniture and disassembling everything. When i got to the new house and started putting everything away, i realized a desk was missing. After inquiring about it and not being able to figure out what happened, Rob offered to pay for it to make it right. That speedy gesture to correct the problem showed that they really care, that meant a lot. Make sure they do a thorough estimate. Mid way through packing the truck they were worried it wouldn't all fit. Rob said he didn't realize how much was stuffed into the closets and how mush outdoor stuff there was. They were ultimately able to stuff everything in one truck and make it work, thus avoiding needing a second trip or second truck. I recently moved and felt overwhelmed by the process. I have lots of large furniture and handmade items that I am protective over and after my last moving experience with a hired company my anxiety was high. After talking to some other local moving businesses, Rob put me at ease with his professionalism and friendliness on the phone. The quote was very fair. Upon arrival, Nick and Rob were very outgoing and ready to work. They were very prompt and timely. They cared for my items and hustled the entire time. One of the aspects I noticed and was most impressed by them was their teamwork with one another and their hustle- between loading and unloading they were literally sprinting the entire time. I couldn't imagine a move going more smoothly than it did with Platinum Movers. Robert set up our move within a few hours of my call, and at a very fair rate. I moved from SB to the Bay Area to begin a new job, and Sam and Jeff, were kind and courteous, and very careful with our belongings. This was a very challenging move: we were moving into a third-floor walk up in a busy SF neighborhood, and the timing of the move required that Sam and Jeff arrive at rush hour. They had to circle the block while moving (!), and yet still had everything moved into our apartment in about 2 hours. Great guys, great team. I had a relatively small moving job that was estimated to take only about 2 hours. Platinum was the only company that had less than a 3 hour minimum so the quote was far less than others were bidding for the job. There was an unforeseen/unavoidable circumstance that circumvented the schedule but Robert called me as soon as he knew of it and made calls to arrange for another moving company to handle my job for the same quoted price. He went the extra mile to make sure my job was covered even though it was probably one of the smaller jobs his company handles. Moving can be a very stressful situation but Robert and his team did an exceptional job relocating my home. These guys are serious athletes! They were able to move several, very fragile pieces of furniture including a pool table and a baby grand piano flawlessly. The owner had a crew and truck at my office within an hour and they got right to business after I showed them exactly what needed to be moved. Robert and his movers were excellent--firstly, they were exactly on time. Secondly, they made sure to wrap everything carefully to prevent damage or from getting soiled--they shrink wrapped my mattress! How many times have you seen your movers just shove your mattress in the truck? They moved my one-bedroom across town in 2 hours flat. I was stuck outside the U.S. and needed someone to move all my stuff into a storage unit before handing back my housing unit, but other companies I called were way above my budget. The two movers were very prompt, calling me the morning of the move to confirm their time of arrival. They worked quickly but carefully.
