I've used Patterson Self-Storage in both my business & personal life and have had the greatest experiences. For one thing, it is CLEAN! I've been to the U-Haul storage facilities and... they just don't compare. They have plenty of carts to help you load/unload and I feel safe leaving my belongings there. The prices are definitely reasonable when you compare it to other storage places in town and you're getting way better quality. When I didn't need the space anymore, I cleared it out but the office was closed so I couldn't tell them; I figured I'd go in the next day to do it but I didn't have to! They check all the spaces regularly and noticed mine was empty/unlocked so they called to confirm my move-out -- done & done! And again, the staff I've spoken to has been nothing but nice. I would DEFINITELY use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to a friend. read more

Patterson Self Storage has been our storage landlord for several years while we lived in the Santa Barbara area. The owners and staff are very helpful and positive. The facility is immaculate. On the day we moved out the cleaning staff were tending to the grounds and even wiping down the roll up doors! I would highly recommend them to anyone in the UCSB/Goleta area. read more

IF you are looking for insane rules, glitchy tech. codes that never work and constantly have to be reset and the absolute least helpful people on the planet making you jump through endless hoops you have found your place. This facility is very poorly managed. We were looking for space for our business move. Treated badly upon arrival by a rude young woman with too much power and no customer service skills. We couldn't imagine what it would be like to have to interact with her or her superiors on a transactional basis. By comparison we went to EXtra Storage and were greeted by a friendly, professional who knew his business, was efficient, courteous and kind. The facility and service is far superior. I NEVER leave reviews, but my experience with Patterson storage has been so great, they've seriously earned my five star rating!! They've been really attentive, they even called to make sure I found everything okay during the initial process which was nice. After that, I had been so stressed out during my move that I accidentally left one of my items out on the property, and they took the time to call each person who was there that day until they reached me and we realized I left my tv mounting equipment on the side of the building (OOPS!!). They could have easily thrown it out but the fact that they took their time to find the owner of these items, and set them aside in the front office was such a pleasant surprise! Stored my things here for approx 8 months. Cost a little more than other units I looked at - but was worth it for me. Place is very well maintained. Always felt safe accessing my things. This review is going to be so positive, you'll think I work for Patterson, but I don't. I'm just a customer. I used Patterson Self-Storage when I moved to Santa Barbara from San Francisco. I had never put anything in storage before, so I assumed the worst. Patterson amazed me with their streamlined processes, use of technology and super organized front office. They were really on top of everything and provided excellent customer service. The facility is very clean and very secure - cameras everywhere, access-code controlled gates and doors, etc. I only had my unit for a month, but getting in and out was super easy. If I ever put anything in storage again, I'll definitely use Patterson. Highly, highly recommended. read more

I used Patterson over the summer to store my new Mercedes and about ten boxes of personal things. One HUGE pro that I'm extremely impressed about is how genuine, nice, and helpful the ladies who work in the front office are. It was my first time using a storage unit and they answered all my questions and helped me along the way. They also provided me with any moving supplies that I needed. They started to recognize me too. The storage space was clean and the security system seemed adequate. There are cameras pretty much everywhere. I only have a few negatives to say about this place: - the price was relatively steep compared to other self-storage places, but then again Patterson is extremely helpful, clean, and organized - I had forgotten which date I was set to pay until and there wasn't a notification sent out to me letting me know my rent was going to end soon; they only called me the day after I was set to move out which resulted in them having to charge me an extra day (it would've been better and nice to have an email or phone call letting me know the date was coming up) - I tried to send some stuff over the summer to Patterson to store for me but they said that I needed to fill out some paperwork and have it notarized and mailed back to them; I wish I had done this in person when I first signed the agreement so that I wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble had I chosen to do so And before I forget, I must mention that the friendly man (security or maintenance worker perhaps?) who drives around in the golf cart is very friendly and asks me how my day is going every time he sees me at my unit. He also asks whether or not he can be of any assistance. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you're willing to spend the money for it. Pros: extremely friendly, clean, organized, quick service, easy, and secure Cons: didn't give me a heads up about my end date, steep price, and not extremely accessible as the gate hours are only 7am-7pm and the office hours differ each day Verdict: I highly recommend this place if you're willing to pay the price. read more

Rented two units (one in climate-controlled, the other regular) between two different moves. One I kept over a year. Besides being clean, safe, etc, the best part was their customer service. When I moved out of one unit on Friday, they called on Saturday (!) to tell me I could apply my leftover rent from that unit to my other unit. When I told them I didn't know what day I could get all my stuff out of the other unit, they said they would only charge me for the days I was there. Got it out on the 4th. They didn't charge me for any day beyond that. I think it's great that it's not month-to-month and that they follow through on that. read more

I was moving across town but had time between my 2 leases so I needed a place to keep my things. I was worried about keeping my things in a gross storage unit but Patterson Is so clean! Even the outside is clean! The unit was sparkling when I moved and the staff was so helpful. Amy was so nice and answered all my questions. I can't recommend them enough, I will be coming back every time I need storage. read more

just raised their space rents again, and now have instituted a late fee. DId not flinch when I called to tell the i was canceling because of the late fee for the first time, No offer t waive it, nothing. There say their rents are competitive and thats true for the mo to mo payers but for advance payments let say like 1 year, they are no where close. Prepay a year in advance and get a whopping 3% discount. I did give them an extra star for being super clean and organized. Im moving to another place that offers a rate 8% lower than them and offered me almost a 15% discount on an annual payment. Thats a great deal. read more

The storage facility is very clean and pleasant. Unlike other self storage units that can feel industrial and sketchy, this one is upscale. They pipe in classical music into the hallways. They provide carts, a wide elevator and intercoms in case you need to reach the staff located in their main office building. The view of the mountains and orchards are at no additional cost. Brian Ross and Amy Avila are really kind and absolutely brightened my day the last time I came in to talk about moving my things out.
