If you're looking for a well run company and great customer service - look no further! The only drawback is the lack of lighting in each of the storage units - bring a flashlight!!

GVSS is clean, secure, and the climate control is very good. However, their business practices leave a lot to be desired. When I started renting, I offered to pay 1 year at a time, and the manager/owner said they'd give me 13 months for the price of 12. This worked for a couple of years, but despite my repeated reminders, they almost never gave me this discount. Although GVSS frequently mentioned their policies, I guess their policies don't include honoring the 13 months for 12 months agreement they made with me. The rent increases always came in the middle of my prepaid year, and when I wanted to stop, I was told there were no refunds for prepaid rent (another policy). After asking again, they "kindly" agreed to refund my unused rent - of course, I shouldn't have had to ask. GVSS said my locker will now rent for $50/month, while they had only increased my rent to $35. At $35/month it became more cost effective for me to get a wine fridge (including electricity) and store my wine at home. For $50/month it's MUCH better and cheaper to store your wine at home and avoid rent increases, driving to get your wine, and limited hours of operation (including holidays). I'm guessing a new generation of this family owned business is now taking charge - what a shame.

The recent upgrades to the property include new roofing, paint and security enhancements. All in all, a great set of improvements have been made to what was a wonderfully convenient location in need of the loving touch of new owners. Although the rent has increased from it's older days, it is absolutely commensurate with market rates and the upgrades and service from the staff make me more than happy to keep business with them.

It does not. This place is poorly run by two misogynists, and they make no bones about it. I had my ground floor handy storage container moved to the top of a three story stack of containers , fragile heirlooms inside be damned. When I approached them about retrieving my unit four weeks in advance, they complained askeing for closer dates. When that date came they told me my container had been there so long that it was lost. Deadlines loomed nothing to be done. Finally it is found and I have to rearrange things and add to it, doing this by myself as a 65 year old woman. They told me they could only leave it down for 24 hours, for the convenience of other people. And each additional time they had to move it, they would charge me $60.00. I protested which they found to find to be "offensive" so they gave me 48 hours to have my container emptied and cleaned. After ten years one time , and eight years another time, when they gave me a container almost impossible to open. The people that work there are toxic , difficult and dangerously thin skinned. Every interaction is stressful and they grab money in every way possible. I found the people across the street to be a thousand times nicer, cheaper, and actually helpful instead of scary. Dont use this place, especially if you are a woman.

From Chelsea, to Brooke, to Frank onsite, to John...the entire team showed up for me. It was very easy to schedule and transparent. I was a nervous mover and they always made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Even when I thought there were missing items (turns out there were not) they scrambled to make sure there wasn't a single lost item. On my move-in day they had a nearby team finish early so they called them over and I had 6 team members get all my household inside in under 2 hours, including building back up my complicated office desk and king sized bed frame. Very grateful for their team and process. Highly recommend.

We recently hired Movegreen for a local move. The crew was efficient, but several heavy, high-value…read moreitems that were blanket-wrapped by their team -- including antiques, designer furniture, and custom marble pieces -- were damaged and broken. These were not items we packed ourselves, yet they were handled poorly enough to result in significant damage. When we filed a claim, Movegreen offered only $0.60 per pound coverage, plus a small additional "good faith" amount of $650 -- a tiny fraction of the replacement cost for furniture exceeding $35,000. Even after escalating to ownership, they refused any further compensation and closed the claim. While the move itself was logistically smooth, the lack of accountability for damaged items and the minimal settlement was extremely disappointing. I would caution anyone moving valuable or heavy furniture to carefully review coverage options and understand that Movegreen may not provide meaningful compensation if damage occurs as a result of their handling.
