Public Storage District Manager (no name) so my review doesn't get deleted. Let's talk mental health! I have been helping an individual with severe mental health issues store his belongings after becoming homeless. During Covid, late fees accumulated, almost $700 plus storage fees. The late fees are more than the rental. In my opinion they have no compassion. In my opinion I feel he is getting robbed, he hasn't been able to take it out even after rent was current due to the late fees. How could such a large company contribute to mental health person wanting to take their life. He has already lost everything everything else of importance. Mental health individuals hold on to everything, that's the only thing they can control. Unfortunately nothing in storage is of value. The only person it's worth anything to is him. It's not a large storage. So far to date a total of $5624 has been paid. In my opinion Corporate greed at its finest. read more

I called around 3 different storage places to help my brother find a place to store his furniture for a month or two. Monica was the only person who I spoke with today who not only was friendly, informative and helpful. But she calmed down my anxiety from the stress of having to help my brother move down here from LA in less than 2 weeks. In the end my brother plans to stay in LA and use storage unit there. But if I anyone asks me if I know of a good storage place in Santa Barbara, I'm saying ask for Monica at Public Storage. read more

In a pinch and need to rent a U-haul van?? Don't just go to the U-haul down the street because it seems as their staff are not trained or just don't have the soft skills needed to provide good customer service. If that U-Haul are out of rentals, these guys are not going to go the extra mile to look for you. You may need to ask twenty questions to get them to LOOK. Don't waste your time with those kids. Okay so, this review is mostly for Manny. He helped me with signing my lease to rent the storage unit. Showed me to my unit and answered all of my questions honestly, and I didn't feel pressured to buy anything that I didn't want to buy. This was my first storage unit rental and he assured me that my stuff would be safe, (they try to be diligent with lock checking and such) and I'm happy to say that we are looking forward to using this facility. He was super friendly and eager to answer questions, which is why I gave this review 4 stars. Docked one star only because the girl that I spoke to on Saturday misquoted me on prices, so we ended up paying more than she originally had said. These people saved my life as I needed a 10x30 unit for my 2500 sq ft house full of antiques! All drive up units, my large one had 2 "garage" doors and was super easy to access. That area is well cared for and the staff, Monica, Jay, Manny, JUST TO NAME A FEW, are absolutely helpful, pleasant and attentive. Really appreciated being able to browse the website regarding unit size and cost. Reserving a unit online is helpful, yet does not obligate you. Once you've reserved a unit you get a phone call from the office to set up a time to come in to take a look, confirm that your unit is the appropriate size for your needs, and find out about security, insurance, access, etc. One has to take out insurance based on the value of the stored items. You may want to bring your own pad lock or you can purchase one there. My experience was totally positive, good customer service, straight forward, no muss, no fuss. read more

Great customer service experience. I researched storage locations before I decided to rent here. After reading the positive reviews I decided to rent here. I was not disappointed. The personnel at this location was very professional. They took the time to ask me questions and they recommended the perfect size for me. We rented a unit a few months ago. The rent just went up over 60 dollars to 445.00 Yet this company is advertising the same size unit on line for over 100.00 less at 314.00. So I called they gave me a supervisor number to leave a message. Called 4 times. Finally got a return call. They left a message for me and said it was market rate to bad. The number they called me on was a dead number and I couldn't reach any one. So again I called the supervisor number and left a message telling them they are advertising my size unit same area for much less . And ask them to call me back. Nothing. I This company will reel you in with low prices only to jack them up after a few months of renting . They don't return calls to me this is a bait and switch type operation . They know how much work it takes to move into a unit then they raise the price yet they give new comers great deals even now their on line pricing is much lower that what I'm paying. FYI I took a screen shot if anyone wants to see the new bill I got and what they are advertising . I wiould be glad to share... read more

Great customer service. I waited until the last minute to pay. I had gotten off of work late and was rushing to there office to make my payment . I wanted to avoid the $50 late fee. The office closes at 6pm, so I called Nancy (the property manager) and asked her if she could wait a few minutes for me because I was on my way. She waited for me and was such a doll. She was waited 6 mins for me after there closing time and was really nice about it. I know she had to stay even longer to close up because of my payment but it was much appreciated. I would recommend this location to anyone in need of storage. The prices are a little bit higher but it's worth it. read more
