If you are a CopyRight customer and concerned about accessing the business, I am observing plenty of parking along the newly re-striped Hollister. The news is VERY good if you use a bicycle or the bus to access Old Town. It feels much friendlier and more safe during this transition. I plan to use my fellow UCSB graduate's services when I need to get printed stuff done. As the slogan goes, Old Town is Open for Business. See you there.

I had plugged in the dimensions and weight on the UPS app on my phone and it gave me a rate of $72.98 to ship my package to the east coast. If I had been home I would've printed out a label and just dropped it off, but I was out running errands and figured I'd just have them issue the label for me. The clerk weighed and measured my package and told me the cost would be over $115. He had added an additional inch in each direction to my box dimensions! My box had measured 26 1/2" x 16 1/8 x 9 15/16" (so rounding up to the nearest inch 27x17x10). He charged me for 28x18x11, and told me they had to "round up". I said that I already HAD rounded up. A rude young man came over and looked at the screen as I grabbed a tape measure and pointed out the error in their measurements. His response was, "Well, if you want to ship it with us, that's the price!" So my response to him was, "Well then, I won't be shipping it with you because that's just downright dishonest!" I went home, printed my own label and was prepared to drive it out to Staples to drop it off, but encountered my local UPS driver as I pulled out of my driveway. He scanned and took my package for me. I'll never go to the Calle Real location ever again. Absolutely rude, unprofessional and unethical!!

He was so kind....so patient and really demonstrated superior customer appreciation, attention-to-detail, and efficiency. He was genuinely warm and just an overall amazing guy. I had researched the official USPS website prior to packaging it and it clearly met all the requirements and specifically said that bulges in the box are not a problem as long as it closes on the normal folds which it did! Even when presented with the written regulations from USPS website they dug in their heels a refused to ship my parcel. The postal service needs to either train its staff or at least have them learn the regulations!! They are absolutely the classic example of overpaid under qualified government employees. I would give zero stars if I could!! No wonder this post office has a 2.1 rating on Yelp! I stop in a few times a week and notice that they manage to greet EVERY SINGLE PERSON who enters their store. They are all very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. If you are looking for any type of mail services or need to get a mailbox, this is the ONLY place to go to in Santa Barbara. I have tried a few other UPS locations in town and have left with unanswered questions and unfriendly service by employees who don't seem to want to be at their job. Whatever this great family is doing, it's working and it's spot on! They make promises they cannot keep, and when you get there to accomplish something, you realize they have no idea what they are doing. I needed to ship something packed in dry ice and they made so many mistakes it was scary (dry ice is hazardous when sealed in packages. If I had gone through with what they recommended, it would have been dangerous and these guys had neither the smarts or curiosity about why this may be a problem. When I was there, there was a line going out the door because it was taking them so long to do even routine tasks.
