Great first experience. Kind staff, delicious drink and not overpriced. Absolutely found my new go to bakery/boba spot in the area. It's now saved on my phone. Plenty of seating inside so it was a perfect spot to sit and journal a little before heading home.

We love coming here after making a trip to see my aunt on the weekends! This location is conveniently located right down the block from the 61st street woodside station on the 7 train. I was quite surprised by how much stuff they still had available on a Sunday afternoon. I am a sucker for their sponge cake, Japanese cheese cake (sadly they were sold out) and green tea Combos. I always pick up a number of sweets as you can never go wrong. They have sweet breads as well as savory ones. And if you're not in a mood for either they also have a display full of cakes and tiramisu. I love love love this place! It really is addicting ... trust me!

I was looking for a cake for Mother's Day. I really wanted a sponge cake since I don't find them as sweet as other cakes and my mom has some health issues and too much sugar isn't good for her. I came in a week before I needed the cake and they took my order. I got the mango cake and it was delicious. Everyone was raving about how great and light the cake was. It had plenty of fresh pineapple which only made it better. I will definitely be back to order more cakes from this place. FYI it's cash for sales under $10

Is it just me or all Fay Das the same? Not sure how to rate this place because everything I've tried tastes the same as every other Fay Da. 4 stars for consistency. Their cakes are usually very light and soft. I also really like their single serve portions because this girl has no chill when it comes to cake.

We visited this bakery on a Saturday afternoon after a long walk. As expected, we were hungry for snacks and this place really hit the spot. All the buns and little cakes/pastries were around $1-$3 each which is amazing for NYC! We literally grabbed an armful. I saw some sliced bread loaves for around $4 too. Also, I tried the soymilk they were selling on a whim, and I had a choice for it to be sweetened or unsweetened (I chose sweetened). Though I've definitely had better buns/pastries and soymilk before, everything was still good especially for the price. They have a decent sized seating area for customers too, and it was pretty clean. The employees were all nice and respectful as well. This is a great place to grab a quick breakfast or snack!

They seem to have fallen off the conveyor belt of baked goods and drink services. I went inside this chilled morning and after having learned that 99% if not all of their baked goods have lard in them, I stopped eating their foods but continued to consume their drinks. Today I ordered a hot green tea with a little honey and lemon. The woman behind the counter messed up entering the order a few times. Kept repeating iced instead of hot. I figured it was an off day for her. Turns out it's an off day for the whole shop. Finally after she got it right, and payment of $3.50 she handed me my drink with a cardboard sleeve on it and it strangely didn't feel hot but I was in a hurry. When I got to the station platform, I noticed a little black thing on the inner rim of the cup cover. I tried to drag it out with my fingers but it wouldn't budge. I thought it was a bug and then decided maybe it wasn't. I should have stuck to my instincts. I opened the lid and stuck it down in place. I saw the lemon floating on top and noticed there was no steam thus my hot tea was not hot. It wasn't even lukewarm. After I took my first two sips I noticed something floating around above the lemon. Ew!! It's a roach and I have the picture to prove it. They say no refunds or exchanges on the placard in their shop but this definitely deserves a cash refund and no exchanges. I'm already on the train out to work. But I hope they see this review and my recent uploaded photos and make some dire changes. Happy eats!

My friends and I visited Fay Da as our first stop on a Queens food crawl. I had just finished an 8 mile run in the morning, so I was looking to absolutely FEAST. My friend told me about Fay Da and I was excited to visit. The first thing that I noticed when I walked into Fay Da was jus how cheap everything is. Buns were around 1-2 dollars, which was an absolute steal. Especially in the capital of overpriced that is New York City, it was nice to buy pastries that didn't break the bank. My friend and I shared a roast pork bun and a beef curry pastry, and both were delicious. We only ended up paying around 3 dollars total, and both of the pastries absolutely hit the spot. I had literally no complaints about Fay Da, and I would totally recommend Fay Da to anyone looking to find some cheap baked goods that still are quite tasty.

Street parking is a must here, this place is located at a easy enough to find parking area so its all good, but also they are right next to the train station exit. CASH ONLY******* CASH ONLY!!! They only take cash here so be prepared, also they do not have an ATM here so keep that in mind. Here you will find a bunch of awesome little pastries and buns, I love particularly the CHEESE TWIST and the TUNA BUN. also they here have coffee, tea and Bubba tea. Amazing. I do love this bakery a lot. they have a lot of cakes for all occasions as well. give it a try on their baked goods you will love it as much as I do.

I was really pleased with this place. Everything was very clean. There's only 5 people allowed in at a time and the most important thing to remember is they are cash only and do NOT have an ATM. You walk in a take a plate and tongs and then grab what you want and bring it up to the cash register so the worker can bag it for you. We absolutely loved everything. We got the roast pork and egg custard steamed buns, roast pork triangle, egg tart, sesame ball, milk cream bread, and bubble tea. Overall everything was super good especially the steamed buns. Definitely will come back

Very nice bakery in Woodside! Cheap, affordable and good! Bubble tea is a must! Location: It's near 61st St. train stop. The interior is huge, with good amount of seating and bread display. Cake display is good as well. You have to pick your breads and pay at the counter. Service: They are nice and always smile, language barrier is not a problem. :) Food: I always get the bubble tea here. Try the TARO, HONEY GREEN TEA and MILK TEA! They are all good! Boba is a good amount! The breads are good as well, I like the TUNA bread! Price rating: 3 out of 10. Very cheap and affordable. Try everything but don't forget to get bubble tea! Taro and honey green tea!

I decided to try their Coconut Pandan cake which was enjoyable except for the jelly they had in the middle. The cake itself was pretty moist and the cream had a nice Pandan flavor. The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft. A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

It has actually been a while since I've had it and my friend made a special request specifically for strawberry shortcake for her 50th birthday. Du Bois for the first place that came to mind. Took a quick look online from pics from previous customers and was surprised to see the number of different designs they can do now. I picked this pink flower one that the owner made out of fondant and it was so pretty and exceeded my expectations. There was no additional charge at all. Back in the days....40 years ago, there was one style I remember getting and it was white cream with strawberries. Now there's so many you can pick from. The birthday girl was so happy with the design. I ordered a 20 person cake. There were 2 choices-round or sheet cake. Round is $60 which is what I opted for since I thought it looked prettier and the sheet cake is $50. The round cake actually came out very tall but gorgeous. Harder to cut too since it was taller. The owner was so nice. He custom made the top of the cake box to make sure the cake fit and doesn't get damaged. The fresh cream on the cake is so good. Not too sweet and very light. Perfect with the strawberries. The cake part was moist and yummy. I forgot how much I love this cake. All the nostalgic memories of eating it when I was younger came back. Honestly, I think it's even better than I remember. And the price was so reasonable for such a beautifully decorated cake.

Their hot milk tea is a cozy, comforting drink that warms the soul. Fay Da's milk tea may still hold the title for my favorite, but Yi Mei's version is a very close contender. The sponge cake? A pleasant surprise. Despite some folks claiming the bread isn't fresh, I've never really had a negative experience with them. But then again, I only get the sponge cake and I can't differentiate fresh vs not fresh between them (I'll just assume that if it's NOT fresh, I would have been able to tell). For ethnic places like Yi Mei, I don't put much weight on service standards. Comparing them to American restaurants would be like comparing apples to oranges.
