Fatty Daddy NY Brooklyn South Slope 10pm Thursday 12th March 2015 Five Stars I have lived in California for entirety of my life before New York so Mexican food does not really exist here to me. However, Fatty Daddy is the best place that I have tried thus far. The tacos were great I had the chorizo since they ran out of Al Pastor. The double corn tortillas were filled with an abundance of chorizo, lettuce, cilantro, and topped with guacamole and radishes. The grilled chicken burrito was less good and not very Mexican. The large flour tortilla encapsulated white rice, black beans, lettuce, cheese and a minimal amount of chicken. read more

No masks on any of the staff. Love this place and I own a store across the street. This is becoming a reoccurring situation. I've tried to ask them to wear them and just get sour attitude in return. Change up your act and I'll come back read more

Just an alert- 90% certain I got food poisoning from the Vegetarian Tortilla Soup yesterday. I saw they were busy in the kitchen but I think one of the cooks was touching meat before he placed the tortilla chips into my take out container and poured in the soup. Just a heads up. Vomiting lasted one full night and was rough. read more

Two stars because service was good. But the quality of food is so poor. Would not recommend. I had three tacos; steak, chicken and mushroom and each had no flavor. The texture was good. Soft corn tortilla and crispy steak. The mushrooms were wet and the chicken tasted like it was just steamed. If you like the best combo of flavor, spice and texture. Do not go here l. read more

Bf wanted to try this place out for a quick lunch after getting his Rx from CVS, so I made the subway ride down after work to meet up with him. There's one heater warming up the entrance at this hole in the wall place. THANK YOU!! Also, since they have an extra door protector, there's not much of a cold draft when people walk in and out to pick up their food. DOUBLE THANK YOU!! ORDER - Baja salad ($8.95): pretty much just a lettuce and spring salad mix with a side of guac, salsa fresca and balsamic vinagrette. I wasn't sure if adding meat was an additional cost and was too nervous to ask, so no meat for me. - 3 steak tacos ($9.95): each taco consists of 2 corn tortillas loaded with perfectly seasoned steak, lettuce, cilantro, onions, radishes, and sliver of lime to squeeze. Food tasted great for the price and prepared super fast at this hole in the wall. read more

This small shops serves up some pretty delicious tacos with solid variation. They offer chicken, steak, fish, spicy chicken, chorizo, portabello mushroom, steak, hot pepper, and pork. So many options. I enjoyed the mushroom and steak taco, yet I wouldn't hesitate from trying any of the other options. The tacos come with ample cilantro, their salsa verde, radish slices, and lime wedges on corn tortillas. I wish the tortillas were a bit crisper but that is a personal preference. You get two tacos and a drink for about $8.25. Fatty Daddy is pretty fast; you should be in and out in a few minutes. read more

Omg finally a great taco place that isnt similar to all the others. I've come here a few times and everytime i come here, it's like the 1st time all over again. The special of 3 tacos and a soda for 10.95 cant be beat. The tacos are over flowing with meats and veggies. And that lime avocado sauce is to die for. I recommend the chicken and steal tacos if anything. Not a fan of the picadillo which is ground beef but man I cant wait for another round of tacos. Give this place a try. Everything is fresh. Interior: very small with possibilities of bumping elbows when you eat. There are about 4 tables against the wall with 2 chairs to each table. read more

Love the steak burrito and chips and guacamole, very flavorful. Closes a bit early which leads to my issue: the annoying thing is you can't do pickup orders starting around the hour before they close, but they'll still deliver. And if you call it's directed to a call center rather than the location. I guess next time I'll try walking over before they close and see what happens read more

I've ordered from here 3 times. The first 2 times were delicious. Probably the best tacos I've had. I ordered fish tacos, steak and chicken burrito. But the third time I received my order and it had mold all over the fish tacos. Rather than send me a new order, the manager insisted that it was probably grill marks and that he needed to see it first. After sending the delivery guy to come see the tacos without bringing me a fresh brand new order, he took back the order and called me back saying that the blue mold is really from cabbage which was a lie. I ended up getting a refund because I was so disgusted from the food and customer service. Overall I would rate the first 2 times 5 out of 5 but after the third time I give it a 1. They need to work on their customer service. read more

Good tacos, in a convenient location. I ordered two fish tacos, and thought they were pretty good. Not fishy at all! I wish the tacos had more of a cilantro kick. The guacamole was tasty (great options for different sizes). Staff was hospitable, and the atmosphere isn't awkward for such a small space. I felt like I was in a beach town waiting for a nice snack after a long day in the water. Not a bad feeling. read more

We really enjoyed our fish tacos today -- they came with a nicely balanced chipotle mayo. They had the double tortilla and were stuffed with fresh grilled fish. The chorizo and steak tacos were good too. We opted for the $1 era for cojita cheese. Two tacos and a said or bottled water $7.50. read more

The fish tacos here are SO GOOD. We always get the rice & beans with it, and their chips and salsa. Very affordable and amazingly fast delivery. read more

I first visited Fatty Daddy Taco back in 2014 when I was not Yelping as much. I fell in love with their Guacamole and chips and the Babes rice and beans. I have not frequented them as much because I was not driving at the time but 4 years later when I am craving Mexican this is my go to. I love the spicy stewed chicken bowl and it is always flavorful and fresh. The quesadillas and burritos are huge and just as good too! Definitely a good Mexican spot if you are in South Park Slope. read more

Great ingredients. Great flavors. Quick, courteous service. Dependably excellent Mexican food. And you get a good amount of food for your money. A true gem among the scores of restaurants that they are competing with in Park Slope. Highly recommended! I've only tried the fish tacos and chicken burritos but go there often. The only negative for me is the meat-locker freezing air conditioning! But others in there didn't seem to mind it at all. read more

This is a hole in the wall, there are about two tables if you want to eat there. If you eat in, you get your food on paper plates and plastic utensils. This is a great place to grab takeout from and to satisfy your sudden taco cravings. They have vegetarian options as well. I tried their al pastor and steak tacos, no complaints about these. They come with the standard toppings, cilantro onions etc. on corn tortillas. They also have a variety of hot sauces and salsas available. I also had their portobello quesadilla, the pieces to this quesadilla are huge! I think they just make less cuts than a regular place? It does make it easier to hold. I enjoyed this vegetarian option. I wish they didn't have to charge extra for sour cream though. read more

Burrito. It sticks to the aluminum wrap. It has a decent taste. the burrito tasted like corn beef. The chorizo tasted like canned corn beef. The quesadilla were better than the burritos. I loved the taste and it's better than any Taco Bell quesadilla I've had and it was fresh. The people are real nice and the service is fast. It's best to eat it out but eating at the restaurant is fine too but if it gets busy it could be a problem because it's such a small place. I would go back for the quesadillas and maybe even try the Tacos while eating there. The tacos ordered kind of soft but I'm willing to try them again. They were pretty spicy but that's just because I'm not used to it either. read more

You can't go wrong with Fatty Daddy. It's fast, affordable, & GOOD. If my husband & I aren't that hungry we'll split a fish burrito & be totally fine. I've never had bad food here. They have vegetarian & vegan options as well. It's super tiny inside, so If you want to eat in, you may bump elbows with someone, but the turnover is really quick so it' never an issue for me. The kitchen is fully visible from the dining area, so you can see everything happening in real-time. Safe & clean spot! Anytime I've gotten delivery it's timely as well. This is a great spot for good, quick & cheap! read more

I had to go back in and ask the name of the fish because this was the worst fish burrito, I have ever had. I'm convinced they must of over salted the fish because it was old/rotten. They offer no refund or exchange; moment's like this make you regret your tipping. I Do not recommend this place because they cook average food and very over priced. I ordered double meat and got double salty fish that why the burrito so big. Oh I thought I add this after complaining about the food to the counter girl, she tells me it was something the cooks did then jumped back on her phone to continue scrolling lol. So yeah the service here does need a lot of work like the other review said. read more

I've been going to fatty daddy for about 3 years now, foods amazing but the workers? I have NEVER been so disgusted with miserable employees. It's been a few times I've held back from writing negative reviews ESPECIALLY places that I love, but Friday November 1st, afternoon, They send me half of a half of a sandwhich I make sure to be specific with my orders and ask politely for something I'm paying for which I'm sure everyone understands. God forbid I ask for extra sauce or for them to re check my order, the older woman with short hair tends to get so upset any time I ask for anything. I've had patience, TONS of it but after my phone call that afternoon After I had complaints about my half of a half of a sandwich She puts the phone down, assuming she hung up already & Assuming I was not on the line I over hear her telling the rest of the staff saying that I'm a nasty client, that's I bother too much, describing my culture and ethnic background and I'm just SHOCKED. I started recording everything she was saying in absolute disbelief that they would talk about paying customers that way, at that point I feel like they mess up my orders on purpose, and the order I had currently called to complain about was being handled poorly. I sent the delivery guy with a message along with a great tip because it was not his fault. I work two blocks away and that's all I have for lunch and These past 4 days I've been hesitant to order from my favorite neighborhood restaurant and it's all because of that crappy experience. read more

I came here a few times for lunch an I enjoy there food very much, I usually order to go bc I'm always on the run when I'm in Parkslope as I'm always working. Decided to order some tacos. Haven't tried them before but saw decent things. We ordered 6 tacos but only got 4. Called back and they were nice on the phone and are sending our two missing tacos. But the lack of attention to detail made the whole experience trash. People barely even want their food if they forgot you ordered something in the restaurant. Now I need to wait from them to cook and drive it on over. While I sit here being hungry and sad :( read more

First time walking in there , ordered the nice lunch special , 3 tacos , also got a quesadilla. FATTY DADDY TACO does live up to its name , because the tacos are fat and girthy and I can barely fit them inside my tiny Asian mouth, but I opened wide and prepared to enter the realm of sweet Mexican spices and chickens . The tacos were great and the quesadilla was huge , enough to feed 3 people , very girthy and thicc quesadilla . The shits were mild but I had a heavy stomache and shit out hot lava 2- 3 times the next day, it burned my ass. It's expected that you're gonna shit and have your ass lit up with tacos though , so it's all good. I will be back with my buddy T. read more

The food is delicious, I give that 5 stars. The reason I rated it a 2 is because of the girl that takes orders over the phone (the one that has an accent) who is very rude. She takes big exaggerated sighs of annoyance if you God forbid place multiple orders. And she gets orders wrong. Whenever we order and it's her over the phone, there is always something missing or something wrong, usually the drink order. It's like she can't be bothered to give everyone different canned sodas so she'll just give everyone a Coke. It's come to the point that when I hear her voice on the phone I feel like hanging up amd ordering from somewhere else. Now on the food, I love their burrito bowls. They are always flavorful and come in generous portions. I recommend their food. read more

Fast. Easy. Good steak taco! My friend ordered a burrito - it was huge but my friend didn't rave about it (he got chicken). My taco was flavorful and I'll probably get it again in the future. read more

Here we are in 20201, I am still having issues with inconsistent amount of food, when we order delivery. Once again with the burrito bowl, I asked for black bean and rice burrito bowl with no tomato salsa, let me mention that the tomato salsa is placed on top of the lettuce on one side of the bowl, it isn't even a huge portion to fill the entire bowl. that's the way they always serve it. My bowl came without the salsa and that was fine but the portion of rice and bean, which is the main portion of the entree was such a small portion, not even half way up the bowl.It was not filled to the rim like it usually is. We also ordered another bowl with salsa and it was filled generously. I took pic side by side for comparison and brang the issue to them. Their explanation was because there was "no tomato salsa" That was clearly an excuse not to address the issue. They never comply with refunds or resolve anything, I even showed pics and you can clearly see the difference. So frustrating, the portion of rice and bean was like a shallow kid's serving not worth the price paid at nearly $10. Whether or not I asked for tomato salsa would not have made a difference. I have ordered burrito bowls without salsa before and the food was always filled up all the way.The food has always tasted good from here but the way they handle these issues with inconsistencies is unsatisfactory. To me their answer was just an excuse and not issue a refund or issue a replacement, just because I asked for no salsa doesn't mean they should serve less of a portion than usual. So sad cause their food tastes good, but the troubles with customer service is enough to stay away from them. read more

Have been ordering from Fatty Daddy for years, since their opening. Their food is great but I was very annoyed today to find a piece of plastic wrapper in my burrito. I went back after ordering and told the woman at the front, she said sorry and lackadaisically told the workers to "be more careful" when preparing the food. She then offered to replace my burrito, which I agreed, all the while the the workers laughed in the background, about me im not sure, but no one seemed very concerned that I could have choked on said plastic. Im giving 3 stars because the food is still really good, but the customer service is somewhat lacking. read more

Wow this place make some delicious tacos ! The nachos was so good that I cried after ....

Wow. The tacos here were out of this world good. Fish tacos are on POINT and the chips and guac are made FRESH. Cute little date spot. NO AIR CONDITIONING so just keep that in mind. Barely any seating at all. It is quite cramped, but the tacos make it worth it. Would definitely come back here again! read more

I find myself at fat daddy about two to three times a week, so although I give it three stars it's still worth checking out. Lately I have been loving the steak quesadilla (ask them to make it crispy) and it is even better. The only other thing I've had are the tacos. I've had the chicken tacos, beef tacos and mushroom. I was actually very surprised by how good the mushroom tacos were. They were very tasty with a beautiful texture. The meat tacos are great as well my only issue with this is some days they taste amazing and other days they taste like they were just thrown together with no seasoning. As I said I still give it a shot and come here often I just really wish it had great consistency in terms of taste and quality read more

Really terrible. Came here for lunch with coworkers first of all the guac and chips were COVERED in salt like I was just pouring salt in my mouth. The tacos were bad the chicken is soooooo dry and my coworker got a steak taco which two of them tried and they both spit it out (I didnt even bother trying it because they both said they felt nauseous from the taste of it) honestly the only semi decent thing was the al pastor and even that wasnt great it had lole no pineapple in it. I will never go back and I'm sure none of my co workers will either. read more
