Nothing against the server she is new, and she was kind. However, my bill had a service charge. When I asked about it. She told me the owner said she can do a 10% service charge anytime someone dines in. This doesn't sit well with me .but I did tip her simply because she was good. The place is small, about 6 tables, no restroom for guests. They no longer serve complimentary chips and dips since covid. I was informed. I just left this place. First and last time there. They allowed a drunk man to hang out inside while we were eating. He was cursing and talking loud for the duration of our meal. The owners were chatting with him like this is acceptable behavior. The man then returned with a radio and they allowed him to play music loud and basically said nothing to him. The owner only said in soft tone to him, "you're disturbing our customers." He completely ignored them and they said nothing more. I had a grilled shrimp salad. our usual taco place doesn't stay open this late but what a blessing in disguise! This place is so good. we've been doing the buy 1 get 1 free burrito on Uber eats which is a STEAL. These burritos are stacked - get the quesillo cheese it's really good with the chicken and we get the corn salsa. They also have Mexican Coke AND Pepsi which my husband prefers over Coke and had never had one before. Their churros with the caramel sauce are delicious as well. Not only is the food good but I placed an Uber order without the beans on the side (my husband is allergic). I called and the woman on the phone was very sweet and changed the order for us, no problem. Their birria tacos are great as well as their juices. I went here for lunch and ordered the mole poblano de pollo. The food took about 15 minutes to receive. I got it to go. The cashier lady was nice and able to answer a few questions on the food. I paid for the food though samsung pay and they also accept apple pay. The food wasn't expensive either. For 13$ for a lunch meal it was pretty good. The food itself was actually pretty decent. The chicken mole was spicy and really tasty. The rice was a bit on the dry side and in my opinion not enough along with the beans. The beans werent as tasty and watery. While looking at the order i was surprised that they added some warm tortillas. Overall for the price the food was good. In our home we've had two Mexican restaurants that we order from. Recently, we discovered El Ranchito Poblano and now this is the only Mexican restaurant for us! Their food is extremely fresh, spicy hot when it's supposed to be, and they have offerings of hard shell tacos, tamales and enchiladas, which are our favorites. Just wasted $40 on the worst Mexican food ever, our normal spot El Paso 1610 Newkirk was closed (they have incredible food and the delivery taste incredible). The meat was under and overcooked. The corn taste like it was frozen when they cooked it cause it was all soft and chewy. The shrimp (dont ask why I got shrimp from a Mexican spot? Should have known better) was nothing but bread, if shrimp were in it, it might have been shrimp essence cause it was just bad. It's going in the garbage. I use to eat at this place about once a month. Haven't been back on a while and decided to get one of the tortas that I always liked. I also decided to try the spicy pork tamales that they had on special. I ordered at the restaurant for take-out and was ready to leave and say forget it after waiting 30 minutes for my order. She apologized and I raced home to eat it. First issue: I ordered the torta with breaded chicken. The breading was completely burnt! I was so hungry that I tried to eat it after taking off the breading but the chicken was way too dry. What cook thinks it's ok to serve burnt food?! Second and most disgusting: The tamales. I ordered spicy pork and when I opened them there was barely any meat. There were tons of skin and some pieces that looked like meat but we're FULL OF HAIR! Yes, long disgusting hairs were all over the meat. I've never seen anything so disgusting. It didn't even look like pork. I thought about calling them and complaining but I seriously doubt they will care if they serve burnt food and hairy mystery meat. Never again. I have to find a new Mexican spot now. People around here have low expectations b/c a decent & diverse restaurant scene is small to non-existant in our area (& I don't subscribe to the over hyped Farm on Adderly style places on Cortelyou, sorry). Good authentic Mexican food. I stayed home sick so I ordered breakfast and a couple things to try because they have a $25 minimum for delivery. Huevos Rancheros were different from those I've had before - the beans were re-fried, and there was no sauce or anything on top, but it was tasty and the fried tortillas were crispy. I also had a strawberry banana smoothie which was delicious! For lunch/later, super nachos and a carnitas burrito bowl. Delivery nachos usually get soggy but these held up pretty well with their super crispy thick chips. Pretty cheap, large portions, delivery took about 45 minutes (less than promised). When the food arrived, the chicken was half cooked and the rice and beans were very spoiled (sour) and I contacted the Grubhub to complain about the spoiled food and they contacted the restaurant. The service on the other hand is very poor. The girls at the counter are rude and lack any real customer service. They have nasty attitudes and feel as if they are doing you a favor by serving you. The one time I ordered for delivery, they took over an hour to come 4 blocks away and the delivery man was clueless, almost gave me someone else's order.
