Create Your Own Taco Salad Bowl (crispy fish)
    Michelle T.

Was in the area for a Yelp Elite week event. I've seen this place on social media before and was intrigued to finally try it. It was really busy in here but they moved really quickly. They have a decent amount of seating if you want to dine in. It was pretty clean, especially the food/serving area. I'm not eating meat for lent so I was pleased to see they had a fish option, as I was gonna go the veggie route. I opted for the crispy fish taco salad bowl with avocado ranch and a side of chipotle sauce; both sauces were bomb. They offer 8 toppings included and .50¢ for each extra but they really didn't seem too strict with the 8 limit. The portion size was big and filling for the price ($13.29), definitely worth it. The flavors and freshness did not disappoint either. I ordered a side of guac as well which was good but they definitely skimp on that (I guess this is universal lol). I definitely plan to go back once lent is over to try the other chicken dishes, especially the birria tacos since I see they have it in chicken (I don't eat beef and always see birria served as just beef).

So the first thing is that the food is just okay. I did not like the rice as it reminded me of the 90 minute microwave rice. Second is the rating. We didn't notice the C rating until leaving. We did consider that it would mean they're working to improve. However, it still made it difficult to enjoy.

I have to admit that my first ever experience with Guac Time (tonight), started off allll wrong. The server behind the counter was having a huffy disagreement with a delivery biker when I walked in and he didn't stop just because I was standing there. The two went back and forth over who knows what, for SEVERAL minutes. Finally, dude behind the counter gave me the raised eyebrow/ chin jut combo to ask me what I wanted. What I wanted was to already have my food bagged and ready to go. I built my own salad. Romaine lettuce, spicy honey chicken, diced tomatoes, corn salsa, guac and a drizzle of mango dressing. I hate to admit it but it was GREAT! My bowl was full of good flavors and textures. Every ingredient tasted fresh and I didn't have to dip into my savings to pay for it. Guac Time is fairly new to my area and I'll give it time to make improvements in their customer service. I'll be back though for sure. This place is open late, food is on point and it's reasonably priced. Definitely going back.

My coworker and I came here for their BOGO free deal. They said you have to choose the same food for both bowls. They won't let me do half and half for the beans. The food is decent but they really skimp on your food. It's worse than Chipotle. My coworker said he doesn't remember being that little when he had it back then. I had the honey chicken bowl for $12.99.

Another lunch pick! Good food. Fresh and delicious. Fast and decent customer service. Good and convenient location. Good portions and quite filling! Always a lunch favorite since I discovered them and a better choice to restaurants serving similar dishes. Busy environment and busy lunch hour. People are now discovering this gem lol. I go here at least twice a week when I don't bring lunch. I'd rather eat fresh and tasty veggies from Guac time! Cons: - They charge a credit card fee. - You can't add points on their app from buying at the store.

The best guacamole in the city. Huge portions, fresh ingredients, customizable meals and much better than Chipotle

A new spot located downtown Brooklyn and the food was pretty good. I had rhe salad bowl with Streak and my extras and it was a nice size portion. I'm greedy I should have asked for more meat because lol. A must stop and I will be getting the Tacos next time I go by.

My burrito was good and enjoyed eating the guacamole inside. The style of this place is similar to chipotle where you get a bowl or burrito but they do have other things such as tacos, fries, chips and etc. Also the burritos is same size or bigger than chipotle by alittle percentage. Price seem close to as well and I will definitely go back for another dish.

My favorite was easily the pastor as it was so well balanced. The tacos are self dressed, so you can decide what toppings to put on it. Something to note: the tacos are definitely on the smaller side compared to other places like Los tacos no. 1, so get an extra to account for that.

Taqueria Ramirez is a popular, authentic Mexico City-style taqueria in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, known…read morefor its tacos like al pastor, suadero, and tripa, often finished with a blowtorch for a crispy texture. Owned by Giovanni Cervantes and Tania Apolinar, the spot stands out for its real flavors, busy small vibe, and unique options like nopales and a rich dipping sauce. The owners opened it in 2021 to fill a gap in NYC's taco scene. I was in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, to pick up an order from the popular fish spot Piscator. I wanted to check out the food scene there and did some research, which led me to Taqueria Ramirez because it's so popular. When we got there, there was a line, but it moved pretty fast. The place has an open kitchen where you can see all the food being made. They offer toppings, but you add them yourself from a table of condiments. I got two Pastor Tacos, a Suadero, Longaniza, and the famous Tripa taco, which is pig intestines. The Pastor tacos had big chunks of meat that were super tasty and flavorful. The Suadero tasted similar to the Pastor, but it was still packed with flavor. I wasn't really a fan of the Longaniza; the flavors didn't do much for me. If you like bold tastes, you might like it. I also didn't love the Tripa -- the texture was off, and it was too soft. They blowtorch the Tripa to make it crispy, but I didn't really get the crunch I expected. Overall, this place makes some really good tacos, and I'd definitely go back to try their Gringa Al Pastor Tacos, which are only available on Tuesdays.
