We went here for breakfast over the weekend and it won't be our last trip. We met some family here and the place was packed. The tables are small four person tables and there were six of us and they wasted no time at getting comfortably seated. The dining area is small and it was very busy and crowded however, that didn't prevent us from having great service. We ordered and the food was delivered promptly and our waitress was very attentive which amazed me c how busy they were. I had a mixture of things that I put together kinda ala cart if you will. Two biscuits with sausage gravy, two eggs, sausage patties, and home fries. Let's just say that I wasn't expecting the amount of food that I received. The biscuits were huge and the gravy was perfect. The portions were more than what I expected. The place has a great vib and is decorated very neglectful with various things from Madi Gras to mermaid paintings and lots of signage. The parking is ample and easy to get in and out of. So if you're in the Mandeville area definitely stop by and give them a try.

Crazy Pig has an excellent menu for breakfast with lots of different options We went on a Sunday morning I got one of the omelettes I think mine was the lean omelette Everything comes with bread and or biscuit I can't eat bread or biscuit so our waiter offered me avocado and tomatoes, which were a perfect choice to go with my omelette Most restaurant places that I've been to usually just remove the item without offering a substitution I was so happy with the alternate options I spoke with the owner to let her know that I appreciate having the tomato and the avocado instead of the bread and the biscuit. Then she told me that they just had a class on food allergies This is really exceptional that a restaurant is taking up their own initiative to learn about food allergies so that they can service their customers with better care While the food is definitely excellent with the capacity to offer different options for the different dietary needs that people have and the staff is educated, I just wish that they had better coffee at the Mandeville location like a cappuccino or a café latte Still an excellent choice

We were greeted by a wonderful young lady who looked around at all the empty tables and said, "Sit anywhere!" We looked around at all the available tables and chose a round four seater by the door. As we were sitting down, an older lady who appeared to be the manager said not that one! You have to sit at a square table. I looked around and only four of the 12 tables in the room had guests. I asked why and she said it is a rule because if a group of five or more come in they need the round table. I looked at three large round empty tables that could seat five or more. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and she replied she is not here and walked off. We went to a square table and had our meal. Only two other people came in while we were there and the same lady told them to sit anywhere. The food was good, the young people who served us were excellent but the manager was rude, devoid of any concept of the importance of good customer service and unyielding in her effort to follow her rule. We stopped in for Sunday brunch on my daughters birthday and had another fantastic meal…read more I ordered the Louisiana Crabmeat Sardou, and it was outstanding. Think eggs Benedict with a Louisiana crabmeat twist. It starts with a buttery homemade biscuit topped with a whole artichoke heart, creamed spinach, a perfectly poached egg, hollandaise, and caviar. It's served with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and a side of potatoes. With so many rich components, I expected it to be heavy, but everything was surprisingly balanced. Every bite worked together, and it was an incredibly delicious dish. My wife ordered the French Dip, which was the brunch special, and she absolutely raved about it. The shaved ribeye was incredibly tender, the Gruyère added just the right richness, and the au jus was packed with flavor. My daughter, who considers herself a burger connoisseur, insists their Brunch Burger is the best burger she's ever had. She ordered it again today, and it only reinforced that opinion. I also tried the Golden Hour cocktail, and it may have become my new favorite. I highly recommend giving it a try. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. The service was phenomenal! It was for an anniversary, and they made sure to tell us happy anniversary, and add it to a little sign that was left on our table. Now for the main part: the food. Fried Oysters and Pork Belly - very good, if you get this make sure you eat them together (that was our "best bite" for that serving). Wedge Salad - one of the best wedge salad's we have had. The blue cheese dressing was creamy (rather than chunky blue cheese). It had crispy shoestring onion strings that almost acted as the croutons. I loved every bite that included lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and bacon. Delmonico Steak - this was probably our overall favorite item. Just a great steak, and large enough for both of us to enjoy. Redfish - this was good, not great. Would probably try something else other than this if we went back. Tchefuncte Potatoes - they almost were like a twice baked potato (flavor wise), but they are super creamy and fluffy and then turned into a lightly fried ball. Good and very unique. Crème Brûlée - if you like crème brûlée then you will enjoy it here. A classic dessert that was delicious. And to top it all off, the ambiance was great. It is right on the water, and service was very attentive.

The establishment itself is located in a cozy little spot in downtown Covington. Tastefully decorated and full of natural light, The Gloriette is a charming, upscale little spot that boasts "a taste of European tradition, a touch of Louisiana soul." And they're not wrong. Our reservations were for 7pm and we were promptly seated upon arrival. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken by our server shortly after arriving. To start, the four of us decided to share the honey goat cheese spread and confit pork belly (of which, I somehow neglected to take pictures for some reason...). Both were spectacular. My Sazerac was perfectly made, and my wife really enjoyed her watermelon sugar cocktail, which she specifically noted as not being too sweet. I'm not big on presentation because I'm a pretty simple guy. But when our entrees arrived I couldn't wait to dig in. Everything looked absolutely delicious. My wife chose the braised beef short ribs, our friends chose the filet mignon and the blackened gulf fish, and I opted for the grilled red fish. I only had a small bite of my wife's short ribs but it melted in my mouth. And my grilled red fish paired with the basil pesto pearl pasta was phenomenal.
