We found this place on Google maps on our way home from Florida. It lives up to the reviews for sure. Eggs NOLA, biscuit with debris, and Fat Spoon Slam were all great. Potatoes are awesome too! Had to go all the way to 5 stars on this one. From the time we walked in the door, we felt welcome and had a short wait. One of the best breakfast joints I have had in awhile. It is located in taking strip mall, but don't let that deter you from the deliciousness being made inside. Our waitress was polite and made great recommendations to my mimosa. I ordered the eggs sardou - creamed spinach eggs Benedict basically BUT there was a special sweet treat under the poached eggs.. artichoke! Delicious. I ordered my side of grits with Roast beef debris. My boyfriend is not a fan pf grits, but thought they were amazing. The country fried steak is well peppered and biscuits were on point. GREAT FOOD! Love the Local Atmosphere. HOWEVER, Tried to place an order Monday 7/29/2019. Tried to place an order twice today 7/31/2019. Monday a guy "working in the back" could not take my order because they were busy. Today I called, same guy told me that he could not take my order. I called again and a sweet lady told me that it would be a 45 minute wait, which I told her was completely fine, then while taking my order a guy stopped her and she told me that they are no longer taking orders. I am just curious, why can I not order food from a local favorite of ours. Eating at Fat Spoon multiple times a month. My husband and I have visited the Fat Spoon the past two Sundays. We enjoyed it so much the first Sunday, we came back the next weekend. We came at the right time both days and got a table right away. The service is friendly, but the wait for food is longer than Waffle House - worth it. They also serve mimosas, bloody mary's, and a couple other alcoholic breakfast beverages. I recommend the Fat Spoon omelette and the Two Eggs plate. Great prices and yummy food. I had high hopes but left disappointed. I had the pork meat pie with 2 eggs and the pie was deep fried to the point of being hard and darker brown than gumbo roux. The service though friendly was lacking. When offered more coffee, we'll it never happened so I just paid the check and left. At best I just made a bad choice for breakfast but not sure I would give them another chance. To many other options in this part of Louisiana to be disappointed again. read more

The main man, Sonny Garcia greeted us, introduced himself by name soon after we arrived, friendly and sincere smile. As they say, the joint was popping, and it wasn't hard to figure out why. Sonny makes the rounds between his kitchen, behind the counter, and around the tables. With the owner paying close attention all around, he has strong influence on all aspects of dining. In some restaurants, this might not be a good thing (micromanagement). But Sonny's staff seems to take it in stride, and offer good, sincere friendly service, so I suppose he treats them well enough. This system works well here, kind of reminds me of old neighborhood bars/restaurants, where everybody knew everybody, and the owner was there, making sure everything is great. It's been a few months since my visit, so I don't remember the details of my order. But I remember the seating was adequate, the place was clean, the food and coffee was very tasty, albeit a little pricier than I hoped for. Not too high, though. I would definitely go back, but probably not on a weekly basis, unless I met friends there a lot. I wish it felt a little more "homey," then I might spend more time there. read more

We've been in once before and the breakfast wasnt anything special. But the service was decent and the food was good enough so we decided to try it again. However, this morning they were busy and we knew it would be a little but of a wait, but the owner who was acting as the host said it wouldn't be long. After about 5 minutes a couple he was clearly friends with came in with a table for 7. He held a table for 10 minutes, moved another table to a differnt table and sat the 7 top before us. We let him know our disappointment and left. When you have mediocre food, your service should be amazing, if it's not, you have nothing to offer, in my opinion. I will not be back. read more

I was traveling through Louisiana on my way home during my road trip from Texas to Florida and this place was recommended by a good friend of mine. We went in on a Sunday for brunch and were promptly greeted warmly and immediately felt welcomed which unfortunately, is not something that happens often enough at other places. The service was friendly and fast and we were treated very well. The food portions were good for the price and everything was delicious. We tried the Eggs NOLA and the Cowboy Omelet, biscuits and gravy, and the beignet sticks. Everything was fantastic, the Eggs NOLA were perfectly poached, the omelet was light and fluffy and loaded with toppings and the beignet sticks...they were my absolute favorite. This is a great little find and the next time I road trip to visit family in Texas I'll be stopping in here again! read more

Not cheap, not expensive (26$ for wife and I) I had eggs sausage and toast with a waffle it was OK at best the waffle was not that good!The wife had eggs NOLA and said it was real good.
