My wife had the Redfish and Shrimp dinner, The Redfish was blackened to perfection and the Shrimp was tender, not overcooked. I had the Prime Rib dinner, and asked for it Blue Rare. It was actually Blue Rare and one of the largest slabs of Prime Rib I have ever had at a restaurant. We both got the cheesecake for dessert and it was superb. The ambiance and service were good. I liked that it wasn't super noisy and I could hear my companion. The food, however, fell short. I was going to get the redfish till I inquired if it was wild caught or farm-raised. It is farm-raised. Really?!? We live in Louisiana and the dish is $38! Boulevard needs to make a change there. Instead I opted for the kale salad and a side of broccolini. The broccolini was hard and a bit biter. We did have the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and that was delicious! I was surprised that the waitress brought the receipt without even asking us if we needed anything else. I think she was ready to leave as her shift must've been over. I honestly don't know how the rating for this location is so low. This place is great! I have not one thing that I can complain about out in this review. Our Server Bailey, was so wonderful! She was helpful? Knowledge and truly the sweetest. We ordered several things, started with the House Salad. It was perfect! The dressing, the freshness of the ingredients, it was a 5 out of 5. We then ordered the Hot Honey Oysters with blue cheese sauce, from the happy hour menu. They were so good! Not too hot and full of flavor. We then had both the House Club Salad- (delicious) and the Tempura Chicken with the Bacon & Onion Potatoes (SO good!). The dishes really were both full of flavor and quality ingredients. We finished off with a Jalapeño Pineapple Mocktail as well as a Lemon Drop. Great ending to our meals. They got it right. All of it! These things, along with the upscale look, and the casual comfortable atmosphere was just that big extra taking it to amazing. We could literally find not one thing to add here as a negative. My family and I frequently visit this restaurant. Today, we had a reservation for four people and encountered an issue with seating. Unexpectedly, my 85-year-old mother joined us, and our request for an additional seat was denied. The hostess offered to seat us at a booth, but she repeatedly stated that she couldn't accommodate five people on a four-person reservation. Despite accepting a booth, she continued to mention the tabletop seating. This was a disappointing experience, especially since we're frequent visitors. I'm not sure we'll be coming here in the future. We have supported this location through some not so good moments with food quality in the past, because the serving staff were quality individuals. Hopefully, the management will do a better job in providing customer service training to its hosting staff. P.S. I usually don't write negative reviews, but my wife and mother were upset, so I'm writing this one. read more

We dinally decided to try this spot after being recommended months ago, the atmosphere service was on point. The Hawaiian ribeye is what we both chose to get, although mine was a bit too charred on the outside it was still yummy. What I've been thinking about is that mascarpone cheesecake. Stopped by on the way back to New Orleans for a late night meal and was pleasantly surprised! Around 9 PM, the restaurant was fairly empty for Friday night, but most people seemed to be vibing at the full & extensive bar. Brian was awesome at recommending dishes. I had the redfish with sautéed spinach. Man, that was a 10/10 decision. The fish was cooked perfectly and added a side of the lemon herb aïoli to go alongside the lemon butter & it was the perfect blend of flavor. This is a very nice place. A little on the upscale side. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I really couldn't taste the bacon. It was very good and very expensive. $20.75 for a burger and fries. Again, very good and messy. Cooked perfectly, nice flavor, but the bun was no match for the burger. Towards the end it was mush. The service was iffy. It wasn't busy and I had to request the waitress to come to our table. I needed refills of tea and to get the check. It's not a problem when it's busy, but she seemed more occupied with the host and another waiter up front. read more

I almost always order the French Dip sandwich and had no complaints. Fast forward, I've also ordered that sandwich for pick-up twice since. The first time = delicious. The second time, not so much. My wife and I had an early midweek dinner at Boulevard American Bistro in Covington. The Bistro transcends its strip mall exterior with a contemporary, but pleasantly warm, interior ambiance that is upscale, but comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. It was happy hour and we each enjoyed a signature Old Fashioned that were quite good. We shared a barbecue shrimp appetizer, with toast points, in an excellent sauce that was exceptional. Following a good Caesar salad, I had the Shrimp pasta entree, which although very lightly seasoned, was tasty. My mate's entree was the signature crab cakes, which were the highlight of the evening. We lived for a number of years in Maryland, so we know our crab cakes, and she thought that these were some of the best she had ever had. Not spicy in the Baltimore Old Bay sort of way, but meaty, definitively seasoned, and rich. The price point for this delicacy is somewhat high, but the quality is first-rate. Her kale salad was very good too, and although not normally a huge fan of kale, she was impressed. We did not try desserts, but several appealing choices were offered. The Boulevard American Bistro is highly recommended. We will return. read more

The server, Santana was GREAT. However, there were a couple of shortcomings. First they don't have Sweet Tea - I know that's my fault but it's my only pleasure as far as beverages go. Can't drink soft drinks or alcohol. But the primary thing I didn't care for was the ribs. They no longer have baby back ribs. The ribs they did have didn't cook long enough to cook the fat and tendons down. I was very turned off by having to chew through tendons and the taste was horrible. They were the WORST ribs I have ever eaten. I didn't say anything until after I paid the bill because I didn't want them to think I wanted something for free. However after I told the server this, I thought a manager would come talk to me. I was wrong. I Guess I can scratch them from future visits. read more

No pics of the BBQ Shrimp or Crispy Tempura Chicken Tenders, but the shrimp are getting one of the "chef kiss" thingies; voila! I mean, wow, soooo good. The sauce was as good as you could expect or even ask for, and the shrimp had these perfect little charred edges that really elevated the plate and brought a whole new flavor profile to a rather traditional type dish. And the toasted bread points? They were, well, on point. Now, the Crispy Tenders had a LOT of potential, but they missed on the crispy part...luckily, the house-made bbq dipping sauce more than made up for it. This stuff was fruity and smoky and bright, not too sweet, and complimented the tempura battered tenders well. Properly crispy, this dish would have stood out, big-time. Still, the smoky sauce's companion was also delicious...a mild flavored aioli that added a creamy dimension to the dish. It was a hit, in our group, for sure. I had the prime rib, medium rare, with the kale and peanut salad. The prime rib was good. The cut was a little lean, but it was perfectly cooked. However, the salad stole the plate, y'all. Sweet and crunchy and peanutty and delicious, I can't wait to have it again... ...next time I'm getting it with the Hawaiian Ribeye, though. Rachel had this one and gave me a taste. This thing blew my prime rib outta the water. The flavors were just jumping outta everywhere! Charred, slightly sweet, lot of savory...and my adorable friend gave me a taste and the piece melted in my mouth. How good was it? Better than Petunia's crab cake, which was probably the best example of a crab cake I have ever tried. It was almost mystical how it held together, but tasted like it was allllll crab; sweet, fresh, amazing crab, set off by the toasted pieces of bread crumb that were there to enhance the experience, not cloud the taste of the crab. Had I not had a taste of the islands in that ribeye, the crab cakes would have been runner-up only to the salad. I know, I know...Robby, a salad? Rabbit food over meat??? Probably not, but oh my was it delicious. Try it for yourself, I wouldn't believe me either. When you get around to going, ask for Bri; friendly, witty, on time with the perfect recommendations, Bri commanded a terrific and fun experience for us with some of the best food around. Crabcakes are delicious, but have you ever heard of separate cups containers for the side dishes? Came to place a Togo order on a busy Friday night around 7:30 PM. Originally order corn curry, but they ran out and asked whoever I spoke to on the phone to give me what they recommend. Which was peas and carrots. When I got home, it was a sloppy mess in my to go order. I would think they would at least put it in aluminum for to keep everything separate, but everything was mixed together. Skip the time and save the money. At least half of the time, you should just light the money on fire and have someone smack you in the gut, it's a similar experience. Just went here for Easter and all I can say is, that's 2 hours of my life I can't get back. I am also at home cooking if that tells you how edible the food was today. We have gone to this location on and off for years. The reason it has been on and off is you have about a 50/50 shot on if the food will be right or even edible. There are some decent servers and managers here, but at least 50% of the time the food is wrong and I'm being generous. It should be noted, it's not small things either, like they forgot a dressing or left something on a sandwich you told them to leave off. Some examples I have personally experienced are: ordering a steak medium, and it comes out 1/2 raw and 1/2 burnt, I have had brown rotten potatoes, the wrong sides, wrong dressings, wrong meat, extra meat I didn't order in my salad, raw burgers, burnt burgers and the wrong meal sent as take out multiple times not the entire order just 1/2 of it. The only thing I have ever seen consistently right is the spinach dip, but one can't live on spinach dip alone. So, if you want to pay top dollar for annoyance and bad food this is the place for you. If you want a steak at that price go to Keith Youngs, if you want pasta, pizza, or flatbread, go to Leonardos. If you want Asian fusion - Tai go to Sawasdee, and, if you want decent sandwiches - BBQ, sorry, you may have to go to Salty Joes which is a hike but worth it. read more

7-1-22 My Husband & I went on our first date as a married couple lol . I've been to Blvd Bistro before and wanted him to try it out. They have a new location which is Covington,Louisiana. He made reservations prior to arrival which was easy to make. We walked in staff was polite and attentive. We gave our names and immediately got seated right away. Our server was sweet , she informed us about food & drink specials. We started off with the Crispy Chicken Tempura Strips appetizer 10/10 and it came with fries. For our entrees we both had The Fire Roasted Chicken , I added a side of broccoli. Our mashed potatoes weren't hot , the chicken was seasoned well to my liking. I would give it a 8/10 my husband rated his food a 6/10. We will really like to try again just wished the food was fresh & hotter. read more

Update: the General Manager reached out and has made it right. I appreciate the effort. We went to lunch on 12/12/2025 for my Birthday, Our server was Garret. We go to the Covington location monthly with our office ( 5 people) and have always been pleased with the service and the food. We made the reservation yesterday and when we showed up today were seated immediately, drink orders were taken within 10 minutes along with appetizer, 10 minutes later the appetizer and drinks arrived another 20 minutes passed and I had to flag another server down to get our waiter to come take our order, it still took him 5 minutes to come to our table to take our order I told him we were on a time crunch ( We had 1 hour and 20 minutes available) we are 40 minutes in and just had our order taken. Another 20 minutes passed, I flagged him down to reminded him we have a time crunch, he said well, "I can always just box the food for you" and then another server brings our food out and we request boxes, boxed it ourselves and the manager came. The comped the appetizer but forced a 20% gratuity and no one got to eat and we all went back to work. No dessert, nothing. We will have to find another lunch spot, Every place has an off day, no problem, the resolution was unacceptable and kind of offensive for the amount of money we spend there. read more
