Brought my friend here today for the first time! We were very disappointed! Messed up on order ! Do not like this breakfast!!!! I will not be back here!!! Coffee was blah!! Got the veggie egg scramble was nasty!!! Place is nice but this food nah!! Egg whites had no flavor & watery!!! Has browns were mushy. Not a great experience! Biscuits were good! By the time other order came I was done! Ran out of broccoli tooo!! Even though food was bad I left a great tip! Waitress was great Samyra G. Was great!!!

My wife and I breakfasted today at the Toasted Yolk Cafe on Hwy 190 in Covington and enjoyed it very much. A refreshing contemporary ambiance, great service, and interesting takes on traditional breakfast favorites make it well worth your while. My wife had the standard scrambled eggs, whole grain toast (especially good) bacon and grits, and I had the Cowboy Scramble, which is biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs, ham, etc. Coffee was primo. All good!

Toasted Yolk Cafe was really great , I enjoyed the modern and clean atmosphere. The service was great also, our server was knowledgeable. And the food was amazing. I had the Yolks lovers Breakfast ( chicken sausage links , scrambled eggs , hash-brown casserole which consisted of cream , cheese, onions & bell-peppers) it was definitely something new for me but the flavors mushed really well together. Let's talk about the pancake I had IT WAS TO DIEEEE FOR !! It was huge , HAWT , fluffy , and definitely made from scratch. My husband had breakfast quesadillas he said they were good but nothing to brag around town about. Overall , definitely worth trying :)

Service was very good. The cheese grits was amazing , as well as the extra large , delicious pancake. The hash Brown casserole came out cold, but they did bring me another one. That was very hot very tasty. The brisket scramble was 5 out of 5 overall.I think my experience was a four point five out of five. I would highly recommend it.

My first introduction to Toasted Yolk was in Biloxi and it was amazing. However, the Covington location was such a disappointment. Our server was great but the food was opposite of that. The grits weren't good and the serving size was 1/3 of what we had in Biloxi. The pancake was on a narrow plate and so much was hanging off. I'm 100% certain that the server touched it while bringing it to the table. My entree, the Brisket Scramble, both looked and tasted terrible. It came with the tiniest piece of hash brown casserole. This location definitely has a lot to figure out still.

We found ourselves in Covington after church, looking for a place to get a bite to eat and we came across Toasted Yolk which recently opened in Covington. This is a breakfast and lunch spot with a varied breakfast menu. Everything looked wonderful and I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the breakfast menu. I wasn't starving to death so after perusing the menu, we decided to split the pork chop breakfast. This breakfast comes with two bone in grilled pork chops, two eggs cook to order, a buttermilk biscuit and a choice of grits or a hash brown casserole. I was in the mood for grits so we ordered an extra side of grits and we split the pork chops. My favorite thing on the plate was the biscuit. It was light and fluffy and baked to perfection. The grits were creamy and not lumpy at all. The pork chops were very thin, but they were tender, but I don't think I would order that again. They were a little bland and next time I will definitely try the hash brown casserole with another breakfast menu item. Overall, we really enjoyed our breakfast and it was definitely enough for two people with the extra side of grits.

Stopped in for a good breakfast. The place is very cute! Server was extremely nice and attentive! I asked for my bacon cooked crispy and they delivered!!! Food came out ridiculously fast. I'm not sure how they do it but somehow they did! I'd definitely return

Breakfast Quesadilla.Exactly as described on the menu.

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position.

We started with the chicken wings with honey barbecue sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly and had a good flavor. Next were the bacon wrapped shrimp and these were one of my favorite items of the night. The hot honey sauce was so good and the presentation made them even better. The cheese pull and sauce dripping down really sealed the deal for me. Easily a 10/10. The brussels sprouts completely surprised me because they were SO good. They were topped with pecans, cranberries, pepper jelly, and parmesan cheese, and all of the toppings worked so well together to elevate the flavor of the brussels sprouts. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I've been back just for those alone. 10/10. I also tried the Bayou Mac & Cheese which was creamy, flavorful, and cooked well. My only complaint is that it was topped with tomatoes, which wasn't listed on the menu, so I would've asked for it without them, but no big deal. We also had the Cajun Pasta which was good as well. Service was friendly and efficient and Taylor took excellent care of us. General Manager Josie dropped by our table to share info on Lumora and her visit was appreciated. There is a full bar and a wide selection of specialty cocktails. Today I had a Blood Orange Mezcal Margarita and my wife had an Ex-Presso Martini. Both were great! I highly recommend the Mezcal spice served up on the Margarita's rim in place of the standard salt. We then enjoyed the Zydeco Eggroll appetizer, which the pepper jelly garnish made truly memorable. I then followed with the Buffalo Chicken Pinsa and my wife had the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pinsa. Both were excellent; hot, pleasantly spicy, and generously portioned. We took home a lot of food. Although we had no room for dessert, several on the menu looked quite sumptuous. In short, Lumora Kitchen and Bar is highly recommended! It's a great spot for lunch, happy hour drinks, or a special date night. We will return.

Anyway, after a brief 15-minute wait and watching incredible looking dishes walk past our noses, we were seated. I knew right away what I wanted. I ordered the smothered brie as an app. The hubs ordered the pancakes, and I ordered the grilled chicken strawberry salad. The smothered brie is literally Fall flavors on a plate. I felt like I was at Thanksgiving dinner and I loved it! Brie + honey + pecans + apples in a rich sauce to dip your bread into is my kind of dish! I felt like I needed a hot toddy to go with it. When entrees came out, I wasn't sure it could top that app, but it did. Those pancakes though! There was something about them, addictive! There was a crispiness on the edges, it wasn't burnt, but crispy and full of the sugary addictive flavor that I kept going back for more. I know you say a pancake is a pancake, but these were different and I haven't stopped talking about them. Then that salad, ok, it's hard to sell a salad but this one is really good.
