After Sophia and I had lunch, we drove here for the last stop before heading back to New Orleans. Cafe Du Monde has been a favorite of ours for many years, even with a few visits after we moved to Virginia. This location was our 1st visit so let's see if we both left happy. We were greeted by the staff upon walking inside. They only had a few people seated which was perfect for us. And the decor was the same as other Cafe Du Monde locals: perfect. Within 5 minutes, it was time to order. I selected the usual: beignets (3 of them per order) and a regular size of frozen cafe au lait. As always, eveything was pretty good. I was kind of surprised they didn't put a lot of powdered sugar on the food, but at the same time I didn't want too much of it getting on my clothes....ha!! And the frozen drink gave yours truly a brain freeze. Not bad for a familiar taste of home. This stop was much needed before we headed to NOLA to rest for the long trip home. You know we'll come back this coming December. Till next time :)
I love our Covington location, because the staff are so kind and cheerful, the beignets are always fresh, and they have the best frozen coffee around - especially when my vehicle's temperature gauge is reading 103° outside. The gentleman at the drive-thru with the glasses is so accommodating and patient, just had to mention that. And who doesn't love the smell of beignets wafting through the air, even in the summer?
Arrived here at around 615am, at the time the staffed seemed half asleep and pretty much ignored me when I asked where the restroom was.. my partner decided to use the restroom while I browsed the menu. It was my first time here and I didn't even know how to order. When it was my turn to use the restroom I can hear my partner laughing, always the one to start a conversation w strangers. Nonetheless, when I came out I was greeted by Clarice and Beau and they were happy enough to share the history of Chicory coffee a second time. They were very friendly, I just think we needed a sec. The place was clean and were given samples of their frozen iced coffee. The beignets were delicious!! Paired well with the Chicory coffee!! I wished I lived near by because I would be here every day. They told us the history and we told them about our road trip with our fur baby. They immediately said you can sit outside and we will put these on plates for you, what a plus that its super dog friendly. Thanks again CLARICE AND BEAU!
Hubby & I were looking for some coffee on our 15 hour road trip. We have previously stopped in Slidell & Dripping Springs and both ended up taking half an hour to get our coffees! Way too much time. So we actually found the Starbucks off this exit and then I saw Cafe du Monde pop up on the map. This was by far the fastest & quickest stop we had the entire trip. The coffee was good and we also ordered some beignets. They were REALLY hot and delicious. It was easy to get on and off the freeway from this exit. From now on this will be our stop driving through Louisiana. Ps. Make sure to get lots of napkins to clean up from the beignets :)
We got powdered. We're 4 old farts traveling cross country in a van. Not being able to walk a block, we decided to skip the downtown New Orleans location and get our beignet s and Cafe au lait in Covington. We arrived about 9:30 am. The place was empty. The beignets were warm, but not the fresh from the fry basket we had downtown. The powdered sugar didn't melt on it just dropped into our laps and onto the floor. However, it did sooth our sweet tooth. The Cafe au lait did not disappoint. We would try again earlier and hopefully get a fresh batch.
OBSESSED! Can we talk about a quiet, easy access Cafe Du Monde location with a DRIVE THRU WINDOW and private parking lot! (Enough said) But, I'll continue! I love that the beignet quality, flavor, and consistency are spot on with the NOLA locations, and served piping hot and fast. This location offers the convenience that I need in my life. Hassle free, perfectly pillowy beignets for all!
We tend to go here for beignets instead of New Orleans. We noticed today they had temporary hours posted. Call before you go. It's quiet and everything is just as good.
A signature food you must try once in your lifetime. Normally I will grab one or three in the French quarter but on this road trip I spotted this restaurant off an exit. The beignets came out fresh in a matter of minutes. Cheat on your diet for a day and get yourself a treat.
The original-best French donuts anywhere. Service is average except for the one located on Jackson Square which has gone downhill in quality , cleanliness and staff.

Growing up in NOLA occasionally our family went to Cafe Du Monde and it was a good treat! It is a great spot to meet up and family and friends. The donuts are pillowy and the powdered sugar is like the icing on a cake, and I love cake, almond is the way to go! Cafe Fu Monde is part of our culture here! read more
I passed through the area on a very long road trip, and I thought it might be nice to grab some coffee and a bite to keep me going. Unfortunately, I can't say I'd choose to go to this Cafe Du Monde again... The service was fine. A little slow, but fine. The beignets were decent. But the coffee was just terrible. It was WAY too hot. Like completely burnt hot. I had to wait ages for it to be drinkable, and once I could drink it, I realized how bitter and burnt it was. The sad thing is, the original Cafe Du Monde is awesome. This offshoot location just doesn't capture the greatness for me... at all. read more

it may not offer the same french quarter experience but it takes cards and the beignets/coffee taste just as good and it looks pretty similar. this literally made my long family road trip happen, i didn't even know this was here until my kid was like daddy there's cafe du monde & i'm like how could u tease me like this...but then it was real! so yea, a frozen café au lait & got me thru my last leg of driving; i was over the moon to put it mildly. plus 6.70$ cans of grind vs the common 8-9$ now was a green light for me to restock too. and some tumblers bc u can't find those online, why not. but yea, i hated bypassing NOLA via 12 but this made me not mind too much. read more

One last stop at another Cafe Du Monde before heading back home. No line and super fast service on a Sunday afternoon, what can I ask? This place is nothing like the French Quarter location but it does take credit cards unlike the original location. They carry all the same menu items as the original one but just no line and hassle. read more
Service was exceptional! We walked in and the man at the cashier saw we were having difficulty deciding from the menu. We told him we were from Texas and his face lit up! It seemed like he genuinely wanted to give us an excellent first experience at Cafe du Monde. He recommended a basket of 3 beignets and 2 coffee au laits. He even gave us a free sample of frozen coffee. He was very friendly and happy and pleasant to be around. The beignets were dense but fluffy and saturated with a covering of powdered sugar. They had a great sweetness but I was just expecting a crisper bite. It wasn't bad but I just wasn't impressed after all the hype that's been built up my entire life. Didn't have time to stop by the OG location, but this establishment ticks off all of my beignet needs. It's honestly a very simple set up. Order at the counter, pick up your order, and enjoy! Hubby and I just wanted a little snack during our road trip so we opted to share a medium cafe au lait and one order of beignets. Each order comes with three pillowy-soft beignets covered in powdered sugar. Definitely a sticky, messy experience but so worth it! Their signature cafe is espresso and half milk, served scalding hot. I thoroughly enjoyed dunking my beignets in the coffee to enjoy the combo of milky, bitter coffee and light, sweet dough. Can't wait for our trip home so I can enjoy another plate! read more

Beignets we're delish and had some density to them. They are definitely not shy with the powdered sugar, they put a mountain of it on the beignets! They also have a window inside where you can watch them being made from scratch. read more
Last stop before heading back home to Hawaii. I've heard so many things about Cafe Du Monde and I'm happy I was able to stop by. We intended to visit the original location in the French quarter, but the line was very long. Luckily, they have a location in Covington. No line, lots of seats available and friendly staff, perfect! In no time, I was enjoying my hot beignets and coffee. Beignets remind me of the malasadas we have home in Hawaii but with powdered sugar. They were very delicious and enjoyable! I plan to definitely stop by for more beignets in the near future ! read more
