Sweet Handkraft - Avocado Egg Toast

Where has this place been my whole life? It's the most amazing mix of Asian flavors. Bulgogi egg…read moretoast? Yes please. Massive delicious cookies? Yep. Ice cream? It's got everything you could ever want! Me and my husband tried so many things and all were delicious; our favorites were the Bulgogi egg toast, Mochi beignets and the Ube banana pudding. I really don't know if you could go wrong with anything here

I was excited to try Sweet handKraft, as the interior is genuinely lovely, nicely decorated,…read morewell-lit, and immediately welcoming. The staff were friendly, and the $9 croffle, which came out hot and fresh, was truly excellent and the highlight of the visit (a tip I got from another customer, not the staff). Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. I ordered the Shokupan (Japanese milk bread with ice cream and strawberries), which the menu clearly listed at $13. I was charged $15 on the receipt. When I brought this discrepancy to the associates, they explained that the price had been recently changed and the manager was "not good with technology," making them unable to correct the digital board. I explained that having a misleading price displayed at the point of sale is false advertisement and requested a simple $2 refund for the difference. The associates stated there was "nothing they could do" and suggested I speak to the owner. The owner came forward disgruntled. When I explained the situation, he did not apologize or attempt to de-escalate. Instead, he flatly stated there are no refunds, told me the price was $15, and tried to reprimand me for not accepting his verbal price correction after I had already been charged. He said it's not a big deal, prices change all the time, all this over two dollars, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. The sheer lack of professionalism, transparency, and simple customer courtesy was staggering. The owner's refusal to honor the price they were actively advertising left a sour taste that no dessert could fix. To add insult to injury, the Shokupan itself was underwhelming and in my opinion, not worth the $15 I paid: just a big chunk of dry bread topped with a scoop of ice cream. While the croffle was a treat, I cannot in good conscience recommend giving business to an establishment whose owner is willing to cause a scene over a $2 error of his own making (although he eventually gave me the $2 refund) demonstrating a clear disregard for community and honest business practices.

READ THE BAKERS REVIEWS BEFORE PLACING ORDERS!!! SEVERAL PEOPLE REPORT UNPROFESSIONALISM AND POOR…read moreCOMMUNICATION THROUGHOUT ENTIRE ORDERING PROCESS!! Here was my experience... The baker's inconsistent communication was unprofessional and blasé. I found them on social media and reached out about a custom cake. I provided detailed instructions and clear references, to make my vision as straightforward as possible. All that was left to do was discuss pricing and flavor options on her end. (I will attach screenshots to show I am not making this up, and include my report to the Better Business Bureau once filed). When pricing was being discussed, owners responses were nearly immediate. However, once that portion of the conversation was finished and I attempted to move forward with finalizing details, communication with her became sporadic and unreliable. Responses slowed to days later or stopped altogether without acknowledgment. This inconsistency created unnecessary friction in what should have been a simple administrative exchange. The overall interaction reflected a "hot and cold" scam-y approach, that did not inspire my confidence in her ability to manage even the foundational aspects of an order. If you are looking for thorough communication and a vendor who can competently handle straightforward client coordination, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

After devouring this great delicacy, I contacted them to have one shipped to our son, out of state. They were prompt, polite, and quickly took my order. The second king cake was delivered as promised and, it too, was quickly devoured.

I stumbled upon this little gem leaving what was Majoria Drugs on Terry Parkway, now CVS. It sits…read moreamongst a cluster of other small businesses within a dated strip plaza across the street. I decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad I did. Their enclosed dessert bar will have your mouth salivating for a bite of each piece. I did pretty good though, I ordered a venti caramel frozen coffee with soy milk and OMG, it was absolutely delish! Then, as I was checking out, I was contemplating purchasing the creme brûlée layered pie. Needless to say, that contemplation lasted all of 3 seconds and I caved and bought it. Let me tell you, next to marrying my husband, this was the best decision I've made lol. Next time, I'm going to buy some macaroons, they looked absolutely divine!

This place is horrible for bubble tea. The menu is super confusing. The day we came, they ran out…read moreof tea so we couldn't get any of the tea drinks. We opted for a smoothie type drink with boba. The guy put boba in 2 of the 3 drinks and told us he ran out for the third drink. Why not measure it out before hand and let us know so we can decide which drinks get the boba? My husband got one of the Special T drinks and it was not drinkable at all. Tasted so artificial and super sweet. It's supposed to be a mango, pineapple and banana combo but not a single real piece of fruit was used. It was just syrup, what looked like jelly, and powders with milk and ice. So gross. Look at the pictures, all of the syrup settled at the bottle. It's half the drink. Never again. What a waste of money.
