Baskin Robbins was the place for ice cream when I was growing up. Now there is a trend of fancy shmancy frozen yogurt shops and no one eats plain old ice cream anymore. Located in a strip mall next to Italian Pie, this location is great. The store is very clean, has ample tables and the workers are incredibly friendly. I would imagine it is difficult to stay friendly with the onslaught of kids, but they do a great job. For the kids they have clown cones which are upside down cones with a clown face made from icing. These are a big hit. If you get one for your kid, make sure and get a cup as they can be messy. They also have ice cream cakes, which are significantly better than any regular cake. If you get one filled with german chocolate cake ice cream, let me know and I will buy you a gift for a piece. If you like ice cream, come here.

Tonight we tried the new Smasher Burgers at Sonic. Neither of us have been real smash-burger fans,…read morebut it's growing on us after tonight. Petunia got the double, but me, I got the triple. I definitely recommend the triple; the patties are super-thin and crispy - which is terrific on the burger, I just liked the extra meat. We ordered them like they came; cheese, onion, pickle, Smash sauce on a potato bun. With the crispy salty patties, creamy cheese and sauce, plus the crunchy pickles and pungent onions, this was a really nice flavor experience - kudos to Sonic for this one, I liked it as much as the garlic butter burger. - First-date tip: hold the onions! They were super delicious, but very strong flavored, and I wouldn't have even wanted to kiss myself after eating them. :) The Groovy Fries were, well, GROOVY. And not just the crinkle-cut, they were extra crispy, but not overcooked, and are going to be my new go-to as long as they last. Tots are king, but when these fries are visiting, I'm grabbing 'em. The Groovy sauce wasn't our favorite. Eh, it was creamy and a little spicy, but there was something in it I didn't care for. No big deal, of course, I keep some CFA sauce on hand for these kinds of emergencies. Finished up our order with a couple of giant drinks, mine with lime and cherry. I really enjoy squeezing the lime into what's left of the ice, then chewing it up with the cherry. It's like the dessert you didn't order! Speaking of ordering, we used the app tonight. Man, that was cool - placed the order from the warmth of our home while the car heated up, got in for the short ride to the store and checked in...seconds later we were on the way home with our hot food and the memory of a perfect smile from our lovely carhop.
