She took…read moreme to a couple of neighborhoods so I get an idea of where to stay if I decide to stay for a year. Then she asked me if I've ever had a snowball. I told her I wasn't a fan of icees because I grew up in Hawaii, where we have shaved ice. I described how the ice was so soft that it's almost like powder snow and is even creamy with toppings. She told me I really needed a try a snowball because in all the years I've come to New Orleans to eat it's an item that the locals love and one of the things I have to cross off my imaginary bucket list. I reluctantly agreed and we went to the Warehouse district and pulled up to Hansen's. She explained how nostalgic it was and how many celebrities have had Hansens. To my surprise snowballs are as soft as shaved ice from Hawaii! I really loved how there are so many flavor combinations. I'm not crazy about artificial flavors and was so happy to see Earl Grey tea and lavender! Such a grown-up flavor combination and that's what I ordered! A small was already too big, but it was wonderful, especially on such a hot, Summer day! I'm so grateful to Stacye for taking me to this local institution!!

I got the wedding cake, and it's literally one of the few times I've actually finished a snowball. Like literally, it was so delicious and smooth it was like eating ice cream but dare I say better! (Only because it's over 100 degrees outside I need something super cold). I got condensed milk with it, and it was $2.50. They are a cash only place so bring the cash! Only open 1-6, so that's a little annoying bc sometimes I crave it at 11 LOL, but it's fine, peak hours of it being hot outside. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area, even if you're not, it's not far off the highway.

She told me I couldn't get strawberries on the side and that they had to be on the snowball. Because of that, I canceled the strawberries. When I received my snowballs, there was no condensed milk on them. When I asked about it, the lady in the back said she didn't charge me for condensed milk. I explained that I did ask for condensed milk, and she responded by saying it would be $1.07. I had no problem paying the $1.07 - I just wanted what I asked for. Instead of simply adding it, she started hollering and speaking with an attitude. I understand businesses can get busy, but there is still a way to talk to customers respectfully. The issue wasn't the $1.07 - it was the poor customer service and attitude! Terrible!

We are on a road trip and decided we needed something cold and delightful. Hubs and I got our usual Tigers Blood while the kids got Strawberry and the other kid got Mango. She was friendly and talkative as she prepared our snow cones. We would definitely go back. Now, as you are pulling in it looks as though the shop is inside the mall - nope! It is outside, across from Main Event with a convenient extra wide driveway. The shops were not busy, so hubs stayed parked there with the doggo while kids and I ran in. What a perfect location and a perfect experience!
