    Cotton candy with condensed milk
    Summer C.

It's a huge no for me. I'm a New Orleans native so I've had some of the best snoballs ever so I'm just keeping it honest as i try to do in every review. I ordered a cotton candy snoball with condensed milk. I asked them to give me a larger cup because i was alone and didn't want it to spill in my car. And whatever flavoring they used was horrid. They also made it extremely mushy as you can see in the pictures which is not how it's supposed to be when you first get it. It was very sloppy and i guess asking for the larger cup threw them off or something i don't know. I skimmed the top after taking one bite then stuffed napkins in it because it was so yucky and i couldn't eat another bite. Remember i got it in a larger cup so what you see in the picture is nearly all of what i purchased and what i also threw in the trash ugh! Totally ruined my day and appetite. Since Pelican's Snoball closed I've been trying to find another spot. But haven't had much luck. I also had a similar less than pleasant experience at another snoball stand in Slidell so I'm convinced they just may not know how to make the way the New Orleans natives do. So I'll just have to stick with my go to New Orleans spots to get a good snoball. I pray that they can get it together but i won't be back to find out.

The family and I have tried almost all of the snowball stands in the Slidell area, and by far this is the one we all agree we like the most. Not to mention the convenient drive through but the snowballs are really good. They have no problem in making it easier for my kids to eat by replacing the smaller cup to a more larger one "No Spill in the car" lol. We would like to thank the Southern Delight snowball staff for making those hot days more pleasant.

Just another close up! I love the trees!

I gave 5 stars because it was worth the wait. I was not in a rush. My husband and I are in a hotel outta town. So, I wasn't in a hurry and I wanted a snowball. But the wait was VERY long. I saw while waiting possibly 30-45 min at least 3 - 4 cars leave from waiting. Maybe they were short handed. This was my first time. I hated it for them to lose the business! Im all for small businesses. I would hope they would also figure a way for better parking/drive thru. Because their business could double or even triple! If they had someone taking orders outside and getting it to the workers inside could make it faster. They were very friendly and seemed to be working as fast as they could. Also when I got my snowball, medium size, they gave a regular short spoon. A long one was really need for this size. But it was my first time, maybe they were out? Would I go back? YES! Would I recommend the wait? YES!! Very delicious and not bad prices! May God bless your business more!

    Banana Taffy/Wild Strawberry w/Condensed Milk.

I got an 8oz Banana Taffy/Wild Strawberry w/Condensed Milk on top! It was delicious. This is my second time going to this stand and the customer service is always great! Prices are great! I gave it 3 stars because the wait in the drive up is 10min+ and I had a chunk of ice in my snowball. I don't ever mind waiting but I'd want my ice smooth and consistent. Definitely recommend them!

Southern Delights may be the best snoball stand in Slidell. It's definitely my favorite on the North Shore. Slidell wasn't even on our itinerary this trip but I couldn't be that close to SD and not stop. It's just one exit off I-12. At the split, we took the 1-10 towards New Orleans, got off at Gause Blvd. and a mile later we were in snoball heaven. The heat was sweltering and the drive thru line snaked almost out the parking lot. It's a popular summer destination so that's to be expected. When another customer pointed out that there was no wait at the walk-up window we parked and got out. They had at least seventy-five flavors to choose from and about a half dozen of those were sugar-free. They also had a separate menu for young children (displayed at thigh level) featuring fun flavors like The Dinosaur, Little Pony and Toxic Waste. My mouth was watering for a Bubble Gum with extra gummy bears; the boy wanted Tigers Blood. We opted for the smallest size (kiddie) to avoid any unscheduled restrooms stops on our trip. Although it didn't come with a peaked top it was still plenty of snoball to enjoy. There is nothing more thirst-quenching on a hot summer day than a snoball. And at a price point of $1-3.50 per treat, it's a complete steal. I'll gladly take the off ramp for Southern Delights again and again.

This place is AMAZING!!!! If you haven't tried it then, it's time!!! They have stuffed snow balls with ice cream, cream flavored snowballs, snowballs with candy, snowballs with condensed milk, you name it, they got it baby!!! This is a locally owned and operated stand that has been open for many years! I've been coming to this place since I was a kid after school with my grandma! The prices I don't think have changed and the sizes are huge!!! They are so delicious I have to cheat and come here at least 3-4 times a month during the summer to last me the rest of the year!!! Their hours vary and the line is sometimes very long but it's highly worth the wait! Any size you want, get the next size down because they always give it to you in a bigger cup! The kiddie size is a regular small and another good tip is if your buying for a child, you can always ask for no top! To help from spilling!

SLIDELL SNOBALLS SNOBALL SNOBALLS! During my 20 min. journey to visiting hubbub i ALWAYS exit Gause, making the left at the light, && driving straight down until seeing the sonics... There you'll find me waiting in the DRIVE THRU ( YES, drive thru) line for one of Southern Delights snoballs! Oh my word..~ they had me at drive thru. Although their ice isn't as fancy as Hansens or Ikes, their flavors will keep you coming! I made it a mission of mines to try ALL of their cream flavor snoballs. (i have 2 left) Def. Recommend you try blue hawaiian if you like coconut; a mix of coconut & evaporated milk. I can go on and on and review all the cream flavors, but... Maybe when i finish my mission! ~ soft serve $1.50 DO IT

Got to try here again today because I've been craving it and this time I got something simple again but I had got the almond, vanilla, and condensed milk and it was pretty good! Don't think its as good as the last one but next time I will mix 3 flavors to touch it up a notch lol.

This place has the best snowballs around. They need to buy an actual building! They are always slammeddddd after school, so don't even think about it. Walk up or drive-thru. Food snacks fat and snowballs. Love you guys!

They have a drive thru which is great, but for some reason I always skip the drive thru when it comes to snowballs.

I grew up with all kinds of ice cream parlors and B-R seems to be the last of the OG still around. Maybe that's why, but this location always seems kind of sad to me, even when it is packed full of kids. It's a little bit grimy around the edges, the equipment is old school, the tables are a little sticky. Nothing really bad or disgusting but not the happy, cheerful vibe I expect from an ice cream place. The ice cream is very good though. High quality and fresh. I haven't had a bad one yet. It's pricey, post-pandemic, but not beyond my price point yet. We have gotten Polar Pizzas and ice cream cakes and things over the years and those have all been very good. The kids working are friendly but they always seem to be lost, like they aren't sure what they are supposed to do next. There never seems to be any Adult Supervision behind the counter. I don't really mind but if there's a crowd then it backs things up worse. Despite the weirdness I keep going back. I haven't had a truly bad experience to drive me away, but I never have a great time either.
