What a fun place for a little afternoon trip! My Grandson loves it and spent soooo much time trying to decide what to get on his limited budget! So much to choose from! Love love love The Candy Bank! Been here 3x in the last year after hitting up Fountainbleau State Park's beach. Perfect for ice cream and other sugary goodies after time in the heat. Probably every candy I've ever imagined for sale here plus homemade goodies such as fudge. Love the concept of all the glass jars to scoop candy from and weigh it to pay. So much fun! The ambiance is adorable too. The location is walking distance from the waterfront. Staff is always so enthusiastic and helpful too. They serve BlueBell ice cream (the best for sure!) in cones or cups and make some sort of malts and floats too. Service is top notch here. Tons and tons of different types of candies new and old. If you are in Mandeville, this is a must see. Originally the first bank in that part of the world, it has an old soda fountain feel. Floor and ceiling tiles are original. Very cool place to visit. read more

My kids love the Candy bank. I love the vintage throwback feel and the layout of everything just feels right. The guy that works there is a little theatrical, but at least he actually cares about his job and seems to really want to do his best. Pandemic review: I was on the northshore and the youngest niece really wanted to go to this candy store so away we went. My Mom was excited to see some old favorites (as was I but from a different era). Think chuckles vs wacky wafers. Plus their selection of by the pound chocolates were good. AND they had dark chocolate covered orange peel which is my favorite. Fun and varied selection and with an ice cream shop attached. The staff was all masked and gave us directions as we entered the store. It is a tight fit so social distancing was a little difficult so plan to try to go at a non-crowded time. read more

I came by on a random Saturday, and this place was packed. It was a cute enough store, but very small for the amount of people inside. The employees were overly perky and kind of annoying. I'm sorry for my way of saying praline, but your correction of me and pretending not to understand what I was saying was not cute. No. I am not "from" here. That should be obvious. I wonder what they are on to be so perky. Maybe it's just the sugar. Parking is in back of the store and is a small lot. I am not sure how so many people were inside the store and so few vehicles were outside the store. It is cute, but not as amazing as the reviews make it out to be. The restroom (only one that I could find) was teeny tiny and I can't imagine how one would change a child's diaper if needed. In the sink maybe? Who knows. read more

It is apparently an old bank, which makes for a fascinating atmosphere while one surveys their tantalizing collection of confections. They offer some nice bottled sodas, but honestly you can get them at a quality food market for a lot cheaper. Where it's at is more likely to be the buy-by-weight candies or housemade fudge, the latter of which I indulged in. It is a pricey place, but the fudge certainly delivered the expected level of deliciousness, and they had interesting flavors, including universal standards, the local special of praline, and a few more adventurous options. They are apparently very strict about which square of fudge you can cut off (edge vs middle), which was not an issue for me but I did see someone else ask and get denied. There is probably nothing in the entire store of any nutritional value, but indulgence is the name of the game around here, and I think this store was a worthwhile indulgence. read more

If you don't like candy, at the very least, saddle up to the counter and ask for a sample of AT LEAST one of the dozens of different fudges, you're a fool. House made fudge will blow you away, red velvet my favorite. Also variety of ice cream flavors and milkshakes. We had so much fun! It is adorable, staff are fabulous. It's a cute hangout of nostalgia. I tried the nitro infused coffee thinking it would be like a Frappuccino or iced. It was like an iced coffee. I would have preferred over ice or crushed ice..... but I can see how a scoop of ice cream would have been wonderful. Homemade fudge and truffles looked and smelled wonderful with cool flavors. I visited The Candy Bank for the first time today with my siblings and my service dog. Justin and Morgan were both so knowledgeable and excited, and their enthusiasm was absolutely contagious. The selection of candy is phenomenal, and their prices are very fair. We didn't have a chance to try the ice cream, but will for sure be back to try it soon. However, the thing that will make me come back again and again is the way Justin and Morgan both treated my service dog and myself. They were both so kind and accommodating, and so knowledgeable about service dog laws. This business very cleary has a system in place to ensure that fake service animals are not allowed in. Unfortunately, that is not something I encounter often, so I will absolutely continue to be a patron of The Candy Bank, who has shown they care not only about my safety but the safety of my service dog as well. read more

What part of candy store doesn't make one happy? If I can't go to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, this was the next best thing. After a long day of bike riding, visiting a candy store (that also served nitro brews on tap) was very ideal. Even driving by this store, while searching for parking, we were already welcomed by the warmest smile and friendliest wave from the staff inside. The store definitely had some modern touches on top of their old-fashioned accents. So, if you are coming to satisfy your sweet tooth, you'll be right at home here. Something comes at you from every angle: candy, ice cream, fudge, rock candy and so much more. You may want to spend a few moments trying to take it all in because it's a lot. If you haven't had enough, by the time you've hit all of your sweet spots, check out their party room in the back. It's quite magical... endless possibilities. It looks like an old-fashioned soda shop in there. It's so adorable. We pretty much left there with almost $20 worth of candy. Totally worth every penny and the staff was INCREDIBLE! My review isn't based on the store itself or the products but it's about the people and rules of the experience. You walk in and it's actual eye candy as far as you look and in every direction. But that's where the enjoyment part ends. You are asked "Have you been here before?" My response the last 15 times is "yes". At that point I do not need to hear all about glass jars and where to put lids and how breakable glass jars are. I'm an adult. They insist on telling you every single time like you're a moron. If my answer had been no well those are the target audience for the rules speech. Today I was admonished for sticking a stick of candy in a bag with the jar candy. But she said that she took care of it but for me to never do that again. I had a 5 , 4 and 10 year old trying to keep their orders separate. I likely will not go here again which is a shame since I like to buy local. The constant rules reminder is not necessary if I have indeed been there before. She could test that knowledge by watching me which they do anyway sure that you haven't heard the rules! read more

EXCELLENT Sunday afternoon outing. My husband, daughter, and I enjoyed browsing through all the nostalgic candy and finding some new treats we hadn't come across before. This is a very cute shop with lots of vintage décor that piques your curiosity (we loved the old typewriter with "free texting" haha). We purchased a few small bags of treats, a yummy chocolate- and reese's-covered pretzel from the case, and I had an iced cinnamon latte. All were great.
