As good as a shrimp poboy gets

Got some boiled crabs from these guys this weekend and they were excellent. Flavored perfectly and boiled right, the meat peeled easily and was solid not mushy.

By far the best restaurant during our trip to Louisiana. Ordered food and enjoyed it so much that most of us ordered seconds. The staff could not be friendlier, the price was fantastic, and the flavors were off the hook. We had crawfish, po boys and hush puppies, there was not a miss in the bunch! I would go back to Louisiana just to eat here again, such a great spot!

Soft Shell Crab platter with fries and slaw. All three are a ten!

Hands down, my go-to, on the north shore. Friendly owners and staff, fresh fresh seafood, and a great boil that's just right. Not too salty, too mild or too spicy... just right and full of flavor! It's June, now, so all about the soft shells while they're in and... NS did NOT disappoint!!! Big, fat, and delicious!!!

We were so glad to drive through the causeway, visit the park then grab lunch here. I guess it's a local favorite as only my friend and I looked like tourists in the shop. Soft crab shell was great. Blackened redfish and potato salad were okay. Fried Jalapeño dough was very spicy. Price is very affordable. The vibe is super casual and friendly, which is quite different from downtown Nola.

I tried several different flavors and my favorites were the pineapple and jalapeno. They are now making their sausages available here and I picked up some right away. Lil Butcher Shoppe is located at 1910 Broadway Dr in Hattiesburg, MS, and has been proudly serving the Pine Belt region since 1991. This family-owned and operated "olde-fashioned" butcher shop offers a wide variety of fresh, high-quality meats, local products, and excellent customer service. From its humble beginnings at Tip's gas station to its current thriving location, Lil Butcher Shoppe has become a beloved fixture in the community and now making their sausages products available in stores. Their history, brothers David Lawson and Steven Dyar founded Lil Butcher Shoppe over three decades ago, drawing inspiration from their family's history in the service industry. Prior to opening the butcher shop, David worked at Tip's, a gas station named after their mother, Christal "Tip" Lawson. The family managed the various locations from the years 1974-1990. David had worked in the family's gas station business his entire life, where he learned business management and customer service skills. After serving in the Navy, Steven Dyar began working at Carroll's Meat Shoppe, Patricia (Trish) Dyar's family butcher shop in Jacksonville, FL. This is where Steve learned the butcher trade and fell in love with Trish, whom he married. In 1990, the couple decided to move back to Mississippi. Lil Butcher Shoppe boasts a vast selection of fresh, hand-cut beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Customers can also request custom cuts to suit their preferences. In addition to high-quality meats, the shop offers a range of homemade items, such as: * Stuffed Potatoes (6 flavors) * Bratwursts * Boudin * Meatloaf * Smoked Chicken * Stuffed Porkchops * Stuffed Chicken * Gumbo * Mardi Gras Pasta Sauce * Casseroles * Stuffed Mushrooms & Peppers * Crawfish Pies The shop also stocks an assortment of cheeses, homemade jams, and various ready-to-bake dishes. With such a diverse array of offerings, Lil Butcher Shoppe truly caters to a wide range of tastes and culinary needs. I have already prepared a number of dishes for breakfast and dinner using several of these sausages and I'm a fan. The pineapple flavor is very good just grilled on a bun with a pineapple slaw and the jalapeno one is great with beans. I have more ideas and there's lots of ideas. Bottom line: Lil Butcher Shoppe has stood the test of time as a family-owned, community-oriented establishment in Hattiesburg, MS. Offering an extensive array of high-quality meats, homemade dishes, and local products, it remains a go-to destination for residents and visitors alike who appreciate quality and exceptional customer service. This store is the best…read more For years I have lamented the fact that there is not a good butcher shop on the MS Gulf Coast. I can lament that no longer because TBT is legit. Located next to what is probably the shadiest gas station in the area, TBT occupies what had been several failed restaurants. They seem to have broken the location's curse as they are often busy and for good reason. Tuna Dip - Ever had TBT tuna dip? It is smoky, chunky, and delicious. They sell a sizable container for $10. It is a hell of a deal and goes really well with pork rinds. It is the same recipe they use in the restaurants. Steaks - Oh hell yes. They have fresh-cut steaks of all varieties in prime and choice. They also often have bone-in ribeyes cut about 2-3 inches thick. I got one of those once and when I cooked it all of my neighbors came to see what the hell I had on the grill. Of their steaks, I prefer the fillets and ribeyes, particularly the prime ribeyes. They are very high quality, reasonably priced, and taste delicious. Lamb Chops - This is the best place on the coast to buy lamb chops. Most come in a marinade of oil and some green stuff. I am sure the green stuff has a name but I can't remember. I recommend removing them from the bag and marinating them yourself. That will increase the flavor. If you don't like lamb, don't buy these. But if you do, they are awesome. Fresh Seafood - They get fresh stuff straight from fishermen so there is always a good selection of fresh shrimp, fish, and crabs. I have bought some shrimp before and they were on par with what I have purchased around the corner at the harbor. Berled Crawfish - During the season they sold crawfish for around $1.99 a pound. It is the best deal on the coast, but they didn't sell corn, potatoes, or sausage. But if you needed some berled crawfish, they were cheap and plentiful. Prepared food - They usually run a smashburger special with a bag of chips for about $10. They grind their own meat using ribeye and fillet so it's pretty tasty. In addition to the great selection of food items, the staff here are really great. It seems to be a family affair and everyone I have encountered has been super nice. They even laugh when I say dumb stuff which is always a plus for me. If you are on the coast and need fresh stiff to grill, head to TBT Meat Market.

We bought prime ribeye steaks and cooked them at home. They were expensive but worth every penny !!read more

I got the $10 lunch special of 1/2 po'boy and cup of seafood gumbo. Loved that I actually got a gumbo FULL of seafood and it tasted wonderful too. It was perfect for a cold day. The po'boy was actually larger and a 1/2. Shrimp was fried crispy perfectly, bread was fresh. I left full. I did order a side of fries and they came out cold. Our waitress never came back to check on us so we could ask for new fries. They also charge $3 for a styrofoam cup. It's not asked, it's handed to you and charged. I'm only a water drinker so $3 for tap water is annoying. Food also took quite a long time for an after lunch rush. Would maybe recommend pre-ordering to go if you're on a time crunch.
