Stopped in on a whim on a Sunday afternoon. Columbia Street Seafood is an old Covington staple that serves Louisiana style fried seafood in traditional abundance. Po'Boys, chicken , and salads are also available, with food being served fresh and prodigiously portioned. Today we had catfish platters and they were very good. Catfish was hot, fresh, tender, and crispy. Seasoning was moderate. While most orders seemed to be pick-up, and a lot of the business is live crawfish, bulk shrimp, etc., a small area is available for dining-in and outside. Service is friendly and efficient, and prices are competitive. If you're looking for fancy, you'll be disappointed, but if you're looking for the real thing you will enjoy Columbia Street Seafood in Covington. read more

Passed by this spot last week and it caught my attention with how steady and busy it was. I stopped in to try crawfish but they ran out, so I knew I'd have to catch them another time earlier in the day. Was able to grab some crawfish today, and although I ordered to-go, I was impressed with the service. The crawfish were hot in temperature with a good flavor. For those who want just a light kick with nothing too spicy, this will satisfy that. There's indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your meal. I'll return to try other menu items. read more

Very good, we tried the oyster poboy, chicken wrap, chicken wings, onion rings, and fries and all of it was very good. They have a lot of wing flavors and the Asian ginger is fantastic. The chicken wrap was also very good for only 9$. The pivot was huge and packed full of meat. And the sides were crispy with a great flavor. Food came out in about 8 minutes which is quick for such a large order. Restaurant is small on the inside but has plenty of tables. All seafood is on ice for you to see. They also have a good variety of drinks, sauces, and deserts on display. WILL be eating here again read more

Shrimp Po Boy. Raw local seafood to take home and cook. Super fast efficient order at the counter or call em and tell them what you want to pickup and when. A few inside tables and a few outside. Bonus: talk to locals. read more

No pretension here. Just great food and Superior Service quick and easy. The seafood was delicious and cooked just like I like it

I'm sorry, but this place was absolutely terrible. I tried twice and I really couldn't eat it I don't mean to be mean, but when people give this place four and five stars and say that best seafood they've ever had it's just ridiculous go try it for yourself if you don't believe me. Good luck with that. read more

Abundance amount of food!! Catfish/shrimp dinner fed me for 2 meals!! Very fresh. Service second to none!! Very polite!!

I bought 3 pounds of shrimp that I should not have bought. They looked bad and they were. Horrible! Never ever again. $24 for shrimp that are not worth eating and getting sick from. They have horrible products. read more

Love this crawfish and southern foods spot! They had friendly staff there and the BEST crawfish and seafood plates! It's flavorful, hot and just the right amount of spicy. You can also purchase live crawfish by the sacks. They also serve crabs as well when in season and if you time it right you can order both crawfish and crabs at the same time. The fried seafood plate is sooo good. They fry it fresh and in a seasoned cornmeal batter. I live an hour away but was definitely blown away at how good it was. I came for lunch on a Friday or Saturday and they have a large crowd but I was able to get my food in a timely matter. 10/10 recommend and I will be back with my friends! read more

MAJOR SLAY, everything was so good and they got it out really fast, like 5 minutes or so after ordering. My po boy was super stuffed and dressed and the boudin balls were great. Fries kinda unseasoned but they have lots of seasoning up on the counter free to use that makes up for it. Really cool little place definitely come here if you're craving seafood read more

Really good place to get a seafood fix. Got the fried oyster po boy, onion rings and seafood kickers. The po boy was so tasty. The bread was a little thinner (thabk goodness) than other po boys i've had, but it gave me a better taste of the oysters and fixins. The onion rings were fried just right. The seafood kickers were like a hush puppy that was stuffed with crab and shrimp, YES!! And my sister got jalapeno poppers and a shrimp po boy and really liked hers as well. This will definitely be a revisit spot. But...they are closed on Mondays. 1123 N. COLUMBIA STREET, Covington, LA read more

Ordered boiled crawfish & boiled shrimp today. It was all so over cooked it was inedible! Called to let them know & the male employee told me "you're the only one to complain today & you're full of shit". REALLY??? That's how you handle customer complaints??? I'm out $21 PLUS the cost of getting something else for dinner!! read more

Very large portions of food for a great price. Don't let the outside of the place fool you, their food is amazing

We are always pleased with food, service, and prices. Overstuffed poboys are my favorite.

Food was nasty I had a fish platter and it was so fishy with no other taste and the owner was real rude

Nice family owned seafood spot. A little pricey. We grabbed a Fried Shrimp plus Fried Catfish Platter including French Fries, Hush Puppies and a soggy, sad salad that should not be in the same hot, steamy box. read more

New to Northshore from Southshore. Still in search of food with FLAVOR on the Northshore. I like to give mom and pop or small businesses priority when selecting a restaurant. I usually dine at a place at least twice before leaving a review. I found the seafood fried nicely but NO FLAVOR. Fried shrimp platter was fried to a nice golden color but tasted like raw flour. Sure they shook some Tony's on the fries, but the seafood itself was hot, cooked well, and lacked flavor. Disappointing. read more

PLEASE COME HERE IM BEGGING. No for real it's genuinely one of the best seafood places I've ever been. Both the catfish and shrimp were prepared perfectly. I also really enjoyed the boudin balls, fries, and hush puppies as sides. The service was great as well! read more

I recently moved to the North Shore and everybody had positive things to say about this place but I still hadn't gone yet. I decided that today I would check it out. I ordered the shrimp on bun combo that comes with a big shot and Fries. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready so I figured it would probably be pretty fresh and hot. It was neither. Instead what I received was about six shrimp on a bun (literally)and a handful of old room temperature, grease soaked fries. I was very disappointed. read more

THIS is my kind of place! If you're looking for fancy, this isn't the place. If you're looking for fresh seafood, great service, local characters and delicious food, then this is a MUST stop! I dropped by for some gumbo and hush puppies and then saw the boiled shrimp! Yeah, baby! Give me some of THAT!! Upon opening the lid on the gumbo, I couldn't wait to dive in and burned the heck out of the roof of my mouth. But one must soldier on. And did I!! While the hush puppies weren't much to look at, you can't judge the beauty on the inside by the appearance. SOOO perfectly done. Crisp outside and soft (not mushy) inside. Not too dense, but not flaky. The shrimp, perfectly boiled. The gumbo, perfectly seasoned. If I were staying longer in the area I would definitely stop back and try other items. They have a nice selection of fresh fish, and sell crawfish by huge bagfuls. I didn't hear the actual order of the gentleman in front of me, but he was presented with what looked like the fixings of a crawfish boil in a bag - corn and red potatoes included. It was fun just to sit back and watch the interaction of the locals stopping by. Very friendly and welcoming. This transplanted southerner felt very welcome! read more

I was looking for a good shrimp poboy. I happened to find this place. I was not impressed at all. The food is way overpriced and mediocre. It is not a restaurant at all. You go in, look at their board and leave. Not very friendly employees either. Don't waste your money or time. read more

We Picked up boiled crawfish tonight and were super excited! The place we normally get them was sold out. Well, these were So pepper HOT that our entire family could not eat them. Crawfish should be seasoned well, but not to the point where they are inedible. I'm not sure if this place is under new management or things have changed, but we will definitely not go there again read more

Stopped here on the way to visit my parents in south Louisiana. I was craving po-boys. Told my husband, my co-pilot, to find us a casual spot we could pop into with a focus on, of course, po-boys. What I was really craving was nostalgia. My husband was feeling the pressure, doubtful that he would be able to find such an experience on the fly. This place did not disappoint. The person who took our order and served us was kind and hospitable. My poboy was just the way I wanted it- soft crusty bread, loaded with delicately fried oysters and shrimp with plenty of tartar and remoulade- yum, yum. The boudin balls were amazing too! Will definitely make this place a ritual for our trip. read more

This is a one stop shop for all seafood. The crawfish and gumbo is on on point. I crave this all the time and come 2-3 times a week. Try the seafood boil!! Definitely a spot to check out if you are in the area. read more

I bought a 34 pound sack of live crawfish from Columbia st. After picking out dead crawfish for 30 mins we decided to give up and just boil them and make eye contact with every crawfish to see if the eyes were green. The picture shown are all dead crawfish. Rotted greenish white eyed dead crawfish. That's not showing the amount we found while we were cleaning them. 34 pounds of crawfish with well over 10 pounds inedible. I will never go back there for crawfish. read more

Best boiled crawfish on the Northshore! The spice is perfect with ground cloves! It's the same price as Rouses, Aquistipace, and Pats, but it is SO much better quality! There were no "dead ones" in the 15 pounds I got! Keep up the great work! This is my go-to seafood place now! read more

I have eaten Shrimp PO Boys all over Louisiana. This is hands down the best, freshest Shrimp PO Boy. The bread is prefect. It is made fresh each day by a small local bakery. I took a friend of mine there and he had the Shrimp PO Boy. He was born and raised in Lower Louisiana. He also proclaimed it to be the best Shrimp PO Boy he has eaten. Very small place. They have a chalk board with many sandwiches both seafood and other meats. This is also a seafood market. They are opened Tuesday thru Saturday. They close at 6:00 pm. Check It out!!! read more

Awesome shrimp po boy. Very fresh seafood of all kinds. Friendly people. My go to place for seafood now.

Loved this place! Every employee was very friendly and even though people were in and out like grand central station, nobody was waiting for more than minute. Crawfish and fried shrimp were perfectly seasoned and they are right when they say they have the best sweet tea in town! Other menu items we saw come out looked great and the store itself was clean and inviting. Unbeatable prices as well. We WILL be back! (: read more
