I ate here years ago and it was pretty good. Since then, they have expanded and it's not nearly as cramped as before. This time I ordered online and the Toast app did something weird so I called them. The lady was very friendly and knowledgeable (it has happened before) so we got things straightened out. My food was ready by the time I got there. My food was excellent. The po-boy was on that crusty French bread that explodes crumbs all over every time you bite into it. (Don't eat it in your car...just saying) No complaints about the portion of meat, but I ordered it dressed and it was a little skimpy on the lettuce and tomato. Not a huge deal just a little odd. This is our new favorite go-to for seafood plates and poboys. You can eat in cafe style picnic tables mostly, or take out. The catfish plate was fantastic, as were the shrimp on the shrimp plate. Went there for the first time. I won't be returning. The bread was hard, lettuce was brown, tomatoes and pickles tasted old. I ordered a sausage and a shrimp po boy. They barely had any meat on them. The taste was about average nothing special. There were a lot of people who had the shrimp and catfish plates. Those plates were full. If I did go back I would try one of their plates but not the po boy. Seafood poboys were a little pricey especially for this area where you can get them much cheaper at the other places. read more

I remember when this place opened in the 70's and was glad to see it still here in 2012. That says a lot. The owner is very friendly, courteous, and accommodating, and grateful for your business. This shop is small, but the Po Boys are fresh with the Best damn Real French Bread you can get. If you love Leidenheimer's French bread, you'll love this bread. I don't think it is Leidenheimer's, the texture is different and possibly even better. I believe it is a local bakery. Combine that with great fresh Gulf oysters, shrimp, crabs & catfish, hot sausage & sloppy roast beef and you have Real South Louisiana Po Boy. The lettuce is shredded, the tomatoes are tasty and the neighborhood is Audubon. The old Quality Grocery is gone, where I personally used to cut meat & serve from the show case, and Robert is now a Blvd as opposed to a RD, but the flava of neighborhood style still lives in this small little shop. If you haven't been there ax' em ta wrap ya one of dem' po boys in dat white paper Da'lin, and grab ya'self a Barq's in dat bottle. You'll be glad you crossed the neutral ground for it... read more

This is a small family owned and operated business since 1989. Prices reflect product. You want fresh product or expensive product the menu price reflects that. The hours are Monday through Friday 1030-3 and 5-7. If there is a customer at the counter or several orders placed they do not answer the phone. A review called them lazy for not answering the phone. Customer service at this restaurant is number 1 priority for the owner. He really appreciates all his customers. read more

Horrible on the phone, and there hours mean nothing. I've tried to order in person at 6:50 and they close. Change your hours, put a "stop serving at" notation.
