It was my first time here, I ordered the wedding cake, red velvet, chocolate, and coconut. The cupcakes are $3 each and the cake pops are $2. The cake was moist and fluffy, and the frosting was creamy and not too sweet. They were decorated cute and simple, they did taste home made and not out of a box. I wish the red velvet had cream cheese frosting, and it would be great if they offered other flavors such as carrot cake or strawberry, they are pricy so it won't be an everyday habit, but I was impressed! read more

What an awesome gem hidden right in plain sight! Not much to look at when you first walk in, but this place really comes through where it counts... their cupcakes are fantastic! Moist, great frosting. The creole cream cheese was my favorite. Good Cafe Rani coffee, too. They have some cool catering options, like mini cupcakes. Stumbled upon Cupcake Concept while in Covington. When you walk in, you would think that it would smell yummy, but weirdly enough, it doesn't. The Display of cupcakes is pretty small, but we bought a half dozen to try. When we brought them home and tried them and were pleasantly surprised. The cake was a medium density and was moist. The frosting was creamy and very complimentary to the cake. $2.95 per cupcake. We had: Wedding Cake, Red Velvet, Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Cupcake with Creole Cream Cheese, Chocolate Kiss (my favorite), and Coconut. I really HATE to write this review, due to the fact that this is an adorable shop with super friendly staff. But I'll get right to it. The cupcakes are good, not the best, but I'd say average. They are 2.95 a piece. And that's what is compelling me to write a review. For the price I really needed my socks to be blown off, and they just weren't. The cupcakes are small, and mine were fairly dry. Good frosting though, I will say that! 3 stars because they are sweet as can be, but sub par cupcakes. read more

I have always LOVED Cupcake Concept, but they must have changed the recipe on the icing.... the chocolate was very chocolate, which is great, but you could literally taste the cocoa power and it was gritty. The white icing as well as the wedding cake icing was always amazing (to the point that my kids would get a "shot of frosting" when we stopped in, but it is not good anymore. When you pay 3 dollars for a cupcake the least a person can do is smile and have a good attitude. First time customer. I am a cupcake CRAZY gal! Just moved here from out of state and was excited to find a cupcake place so close to my new home. Boy, I was so disappointed. I purchased 6 Cupcakes. They have no original aspects or fun fillings. All 6 of mine were dry and boring. Big heap of frosting - and if it was yummy it might make up for the bland cake. I watched 2 days of strict cupcake wars, which caused me to crave some cupcakes. So I drove to the nearest cupcake shop, which is cupcake concept. I walk in , the shop is very cute with a very sweet girl as the cashier. The cupcakes are very boring,traditional flavors though: Banana,strawberry,vanilla,chocolate,wedding. I decided to get the cupcakes anyway. I get home, try the cupcakes, they were all dry. Besides the banana one, it was uncooked, runny. I had to spit it out! I could almost taste that they have been in the freezer all night long. Never going back to Cupcake Concept. Ruined cupcake experience. Going to try some more cupcake shops in New Orleans. There is something about a fresh cupcake that I just can't pass up, and boy did Cupcake Concept fill my craving! The flavors all sounded great but I ended up settling on one of their specials, Salted Caramel. WOW. The blend of the sweet caramel and savory salt was spot on. I took home a box of various other flavors, all of which equally as fabulous. I can't wait for a return trip to see what other flavors I may have missed. read more

Cupcake Concept is delicious. I had a chocolate kiss and a red velvet cupcake. The cake itself was so moist and had such good flavor. The icing was amazing. I could tell the chocolate icing was made with cocoa. So tasty! The only downside is the price (which is why Cupcake Concept gets 4 stars instead of 5). In my opinion, a cupcake should not cost more than $2. Regularly priced cupcakes cost about $3 each. That said, I will return. Hopefully, they'll have a lemony one on my next visit! :) read more
