The combination of the venue and the food makes it a must. Even during the coving days, this place manages to provide both excellent food (the crusty pizza is simply amazing with all its fresh Ingredients) and sense of decorum (outside individual tents separated by beautifully arranged wood piles). Came up to Jamaica, VT for the weekend as a couples trip with two other couples. Wanted to go out to dinner one of the nights and stumbled across this place. Made a reservation for a Saturday at 7pm and I'm happy we did because there wasn't a ton of seating and it was pretty packed. When we entered the restaurant the ambiance was so nice - rustic and very charming and really felt like a warm and cozy restaurant in the middle of the snowy Vermont mountains. Our friendly server greeted us and wasted no time. Drinks came out fast. Important to note that they only have wine and beer! But a great selection nonetheless. We ordered appetizers and foods next. We started with the Mac & cheese, bacon strips, Brussels sprouts, buratta board, New England clam chowder and loaded potato soup. All were delicious but if I had to pick one thing you HAVE to get here, it would be the bacon strips. For dinner we got chicken tacos, lobster roll, steak, fish and chips, and the veggie burger. All of the food was delicious. The portions are HUGE!! We could have shared one entree per person there was so much food. Overall, great place and I highly recommend it! read more

Tried to make a reservation for dinner for my family of 4. We were told that even though we were fully vaccinated, since our kids aren't vaccinated (they aren't even eligible to receive a Covid vaccine yet since they are both under 5) we couldn't dine at the restaurant. I've never heard of any restaurant anywhere having this policy and it is unfortunate that they are not following current government guidance surrounding Covid policies and refusing service to families with children under 5. read more

Came here on a Saturday night around 8pm. They dont take reservations for 2, so we waited a bit. Not too bad since they close at 9pm so dinner rush was over. Lovely ambiance, amazing food, server was nice and attentive, but hostess was not very welcoming. Sadly, she is the first interaction of this establishment when you arrive, there, our very first impression was just ok. Hence the 4 stars and not 5. read more

On a Wednesday evening we waited over one hour for one margarita pizza and one salad. Placed to go order, wAited outside 45 minutes, went in to check on order, told not ready. Waited 15 more minutes, went to check again on order, which was finally ready - no apology for long wait. Right away in car opened box and pizza was cold, cheese congeled. It had clearly been sitting there a while. Buzzer never went off. Would probably still be standing there waiting if we didn't inquire. Probably won't go back. read more

We visited Vermont for the weekend and checked out dinner at Fat Crow on a Saturday night. For a group of 6, we were able to easily make a reservation that morning. We heard this spot was good so we were excited to try it. They have a pretty good draft list and some wines, no liquor. They had an extensive list of specials and a big menu with lots of options. We got some starters, and I really enjoyed my New England clam chowder. The bacon app is really good too. I got the squirrel burger which was pretty good, but what stood out was the eggplant fries. They were so good! Especially the dipping sauce. I also loved that all the sandwiches came with Cole slaw and a pickle. My friends all liked their meals as well, including the steak, fish and chips, lobster ravioli, lobster roll, and chicken tacos. The portions are really big, so be prepared to take home extras. I loved the vibes in here- good music, very friendly servers and fast accurate service. I would recommend this spot to anyone! read more

Pro tip - there are only about 8 tables here. What compels me to write the review is for the unfortunate folks behind us who came in and asked to see a menu, which the hostess offered BUT DID NOT ASK IF THEY WERE INTERESTED IN DINING IN, leaving them to look at a menu and relying on me to ask if they wanted to eat there/told them about hour wait. As a hostess, this should be common sense to ask patrons stepping asking for a menu if they want to dine in or take out. You're probably turning away future business by lacking the common sense to confirm these details. The couple appreciated my help and agreed that it would've been nice if the hostess actually told them. So, manager/owner, for the sake of your business, have a talk with your hostess. I have eaten here numerous times. Most recently this winter with my unvaccinated children. They then shut down and left it open for take out only. A month later they reopened. I just tried to get a reservation the other day and they said everyone in my party had to be vaccinated -- even the 4 year old. Delicious pizza! The place is beautiful and new with an awesome circular wood fired pizza oven. The place is near with a awning over a bar and a nice outside front porch. When my husband and I went there on a Wednesday in late July, we were told there was no room at the bar or a table. But we were offered seats at a large community table, which was totally fine. We were surprised how busy it was and people were being turned away or waiting 20-30 minutes for a table. We do thing they could make more room for tables and utilize the space better. For example, there is a large space at the entrance at which they have two beautiful motorcycles on display. There is also a spacious front that could t been utilized much better. Maybe their new and still figuring that all out. We ordered a house salad and two pizzas. All the food was great and the balsamic dressing was so good we asked for more and dipped the pizza in! We will be back for sure. Our waitress was friendly, and was working the whole place. The bartender and bus person were also helping out, making the service good! read more

Came for my boyfriends birthday. I was better off going to any fast food place. The host was...rude...I have no other word to describe her. She gave major attitude. The food was not the best. We ordered the clam chowder which was very good. We ordered the Mac and cheese...it was literally floating in oil had no flavor at all. We ordered the ribs they were alright. I ordered the rib eye. It was not good honestly. The table ordered fish and chips and it had no flavor and it was more batter than fish. The only good things this place has is the pizza, chowder and beer. That's pretty much it. I give this place a 2/10 especially for given attitude for no reason at all. read more

What used to be the Newfane Creamery is now the Fat Crow. We loved going to the Creamery so when it burned down we truly were sad. The Fat Crow has brought the soul and food back with style. This is a great restaurant all around. We had a late 9pm dinner by Vermont standards so the place was just quieting down. The ambience is casual by very cool. The food and service were both amazing. The clam chowder is award winning, eggplant fries were awesome, the lobster Mac n cheese was fabulous, the salmon with cream pesto sauce was top notch. We were raving to our waitress about the food and ended up talking to the chef Brantley and owner Denise who were both really nice. They were both gracious with their time on a busy Friday night. The flat-iron pork, French onion soup, Kobe beef burger and fries, and regional brew I sampled were first class all the way. Decor is rural steampunk, featuring exquisite bespoke furniture and fixtures. Fans of the old Creamery will appreciate the antique motorcycles and the long, swoopy Jefferson-nickel bench. Server at bar was efficient and friendly as we found at most restaurants in the region. BUT Hostess/owner was surprisingly very unwelcoming for an owner; seemed annoyed: by people coming in (well...they don't take reservations for small groups), figuring out seating for numerous walk in diners on a Thurs night, and we felt rushed to finish & give up our seats for waiting diners. The space is limited by the motorcycle decor and big artsy metal chair made of quarters.why not add more seats in room and at bar and get a welcoming host? read more
