Love the Fat Crow! We go there regularly and are always pleased with what we order. Friends we bring there love it too. The menu is varied and gluten friendly! They have a tasty gf pizza crust from Against the Grain. In addition the staff is knowledgeable about the menu and always helpful. The owner is experienced and present; the quality is high. The place itself is very cool, with locally designed/made furniture. We like the mix of locals, regulars and travelers. Always a great vibe. Reservations are super helpful, it's a popular place. read more

My husband and I have eaten here a lot. We have always had a great meal, fresh, variety, good portions. Wait staff, cooks, owner have always been helpful and nice, of course like with any great restaurant they get busy, have a drink and be patient it worth it. The interior is industry, air plane hanger, artsy, barn, farm house, vibe. read more

The combination of the venue and the food makes it a must. Even during the coving days, this place manages to provide both excellent food (the crusty pizza is simply amazing with all its fresh Ingredients) and sense of decorum (outside individual tents separated by beautifully arranged wood piles). We tasted our first rose in a can, and opened our mind to a much better outcome than expected, better than a lot of rose we had this year. Going back there ASAP read more

Will camp for food at this place anytime! Great service and great food. Anytime we are camping at Townshend or Jamaica this is a go to.

Very expensive cocktails and not very generous with the portion size. Appetizers were good, slightly above average.

Came up to Jamaica, VT for the weekend as a couples trip with two other couples. Wanted to go out to dinner one of the nights and stumbled across this place. Made a reservation for a Saturday at 7pm and I'm happy we did because there wasn't a ton of seating and it was pretty packed. When we entered the restaurant the ambiance was so nice - rustic and very charming and really felt like a warm and cozy restaurant in the middle of the snowy Vermont mountains. Our friendly server greeted us and wasted no time. Drinks came out fast. Important to note that they only have wine and beer! But a great selection nonetheless. We ordered appetizers and foods next. We started with the Mac & cheese, bacon strips, Brussels sprouts, buratta board, New England clam chowder and loaded potato soup. All were delicious but if I had to pick one thing you HAVE to get here, it would be the bacon strips. For dinner we got chicken tacos, lobster roll, steak, fish and chips, and the veggie burger. All of the food was delicious. The portions are HUGE!! We could have shared one entree per person there was so much food. Overall, great place and I highly recommend it! read more

Tried to make a reservation for dinner for my family of 4. We were told that even though we were fully vaccinated, since our kids aren't vaccinated (they aren't even eligible to receive a Covid vaccine yet since they are both under 5) we couldn't dine at the restaurant. I've never heard of any restaurant anywhere having this policy and it is unfortunate that they are not following current government guidance surrounding Covid policies and refusing service to families with children under 5. read more

Always love the Fat Crow, the regular menu is great and the specials are very well done. The crew is very dedicated and friendly, they always remember us there. read more

The food was great! Service at the bar was fast! The place looks awesome inside. Great place to eat with friends!

Came here on a Saturday night around 8pm. They dont take reservations for 2, so we waited a bit. Not too bad since they close at 9pm so dinner rush was over. Lovely ambiance, amazing food, server was nice and attentive, but hostess was not very welcoming. Sadly, she is the first interaction of this establishment when you arrive, there, our very first impression was just ok. Hence the 4 stars and not 5. read more

Fat Crow - Bacon, yum! - Pizza Near Me - Newfane, Vermont

Awesome place To eat and enjoy the delicious food and the very nice employees Please stop by and say hello to the staff and other locals. Thanks again for all you do for the community read more

On a Wednesday evening we waited over one hour for one margarita pizza and one salad. Placed to go order, wAited outside 45 minutes, went in to check on order, told not ready. Waited 15 more minutes, went to check again on order, which was finally ready - no apology for long wait. Right away in car opened box and pizza was cold, cheese congeled. It had clearly been sitting there a while. Buzzer never went off. Would probably still be standing there waiting if we didn't inquire. Probably won't go back. read more

We visited Vermont for the weekend and checked out dinner at Fat Crow on a Saturday night. For a group of 6, we were able to easily make a reservation that morning. We heard this spot was good so we were excited to try it. They have a pretty good draft list and some wines, no liquor. They had an extensive list of specials and a big menu with lots of options. We got some starters, and I really enjoyed my New England clam chowder. The bacon app is really good too. I got the squirrel burger which was pretty good, but what stood out was the eggplant fries. They were so good! Especially the dipping sauce. I also loved that all the sandwiches came with Cole slaw and a pickle. My friends all liked their meals as well, including the steak, fish and chips, lobster ravioli, lobster roll, and chicken tacos. The portions are really big, so be prepared to take home extras. I loved the vibes in here- good music, very friendly servers and fast accurate service. I would recommend this spot to anyone! read more

GO HERE. There is a wide variety of food options but each dish is executed flawlessly. Probably the best buffalo wings I've ever had... and that's saying a lot! Get them charred - worth the extra $1! Pro tip - there are only about 8 tables here. Either get there 1 hour before you want to actually be eating (waits are 30 mins on average) and treat yourself to a drink on the porch while you wait, or decide to make some new friends and sit at the Community Table! read more

OK, this is not a review for the food, which could very well be outstanding--its for the hostess tonight, Saturday night, October 5th. While we waited way too long for her to approach us, and at most she gave us a somewhat haughty, aloof vibe when telling us it was an hour wait, we just shrugged it off. What compels me to write the review is for the unfortunate folks behind us who came in and asked to see a menu, which the hostess offered BUT DID NOT ASK IF THEY WERE INTERESTED IN DINING IN, leaving them to look at a menu and relying on me to ask if they wanted to eat there/told them about hour wait. As a hostess, this should be common sense to ask patrons stepping asking for a menu if they want to dine in or take out. You're probably turning away future business by lacking the common sense to confirm these details. The couple appreciated my help and agreed that it would've been nice if the hostess actually told them. So, manager/owner, for the sake of your business, have a talk with your hostess. The couple was put off by the interaction and my partner and I were too: we chose not to wait and headed to Brattleboro instead. read more

Great food, service & prices. Nice looking venue. Have dined here twice. It's become a regular gathering spot for dinner with friends

Tried to eat here August 19 at 4:30 pm. Didn't have a reservation. The woman at the hostess stand was rude, told us she didn't have room but we could order to go and eat outside with no service there. It was the rudeness that would make me never try again. I know she was frazzled with the two phone orders she was taking but did not need to be rude. read more

Truly exceptional cuisine, hospitality, and interior. An absolute gem and a new favorite!

We made a reservation the day before which I would recommend. We were seated right away. The restaurant is bright and very clean. Our waitress was a lot of fun and very efficient. They have a full bar. We went with pizza which was delicious.... Enjoy! read more

It's the holiday season and my husband and I are so blessed to be spending a long weekend here in Newfane, but what makes it always memorable is enjoying dinner at Fat Crow where we literally look at one another following each bite in awe! We also giggle as our forks begin to battle for the last bite on the plate! Without any doubt, the Fat Crow restaurant is off the chart "EXCELLENT" in food, in service and the clear pride of ownership shown by the owners Ken and Denise! read more

I have eaten here numerous times. Most recently this winter with my unvaccinated children. They then shut down and left it open for take out only. A month later they reopened. I just tried to get a reservation the other day and they said everyone in my party had to be vaccinated -- even the 4 year old. The vaccine is not available for children under 5, so we were out of luck. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/14/us/politics/coronavirus-vaccine-children-moderna-pfizer.html Draconian? Food was excellent, fresh and generous portions. Gone so fast we forgot to take pictures!! Easy to order and pick up, and was happy they had strong COVID protocols in place. Looking forward to a future when we can visit and eat in person and check out the decor (including the Norton motorcycle) as we dine in... read more

Excellent food, excellent setting, excellent service. Best dining spot in Newfane.

Delicious food and my kind of ambiance, I had the short rib ravioli which was excellent and a summer mojito- both 10/10

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! While it is a shame that the original restaurant here burned down, this new one is just AMAZING! I have eaten here five times in the past 10 days, and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is fresh and the portions are worth the price. The staff are awesome-Especially Paul the cook and Kate the bartender. It is well worth my two hour drive to get there from Mass. Keep up the good work everyone! read more

Delicious pizza! The place is beautiful and new with an awesome circular wood fired pizza oven. The place is near with a awning over a bar and a nice outside front porch. When my husband and I went there on a Wednesday in late July, we were told there was no room at the bar or a table. But we were offered seats at a large community table, which was totally fine. We were surprised how busy it was and people were being turned away or waiting 20-30 minutes for a table. We do thing they could make more room for tables and utilize the space better. For example, there is a large space at the entrance at which they have two beautiful motorcycles on display. There is also a spacious front that could t been utilized much better. Maybe their new and still figuring that all out. We ordered a house salad and two pizzas. All the food was great and the balsamic dressing was so good we asked for more and dipped the pizza in! We will be back for sure. Our waitress was friendly, and was working the whole place. The bartender and bus person were also helping out, making the service good! read more

See all

When I called to make a reservation the woman who picked up asked me for personal medical information that she has absolutely no right to do and when I refused to disclose my personal information she refused to let my family reserve a table. I don't recommend going to this restaurant read more

Came for my boyfriends birthday. I was better off going to any fast food place. The host was...rude...I have no other word to describe her. She gave major attitude. The food was not the best. We ordered the clam chowder which was very good. We ordered the Mac and cheese...it was literally floating in oil had no flavor at all. We ordered the ribs they were alright. I ordered the rib eye. It was not good honestly. The table ordered fish and chips and it had no flavor and it was more batter than fish. The only good things this place has is the pizza, chowder and beer. That's pretty much it. I give this place a 2/10 especially for given attitude for no reason at all. read more

Love it. The owners are great, it's so original and neat inside and the drinks are great.

Can be a real wait sometimes, but gorgeous space and great food. Nothing fancy, but everything is solid and fresh across the board.

I like the looks of the building. First time we wanted to try it drove down from the campground it was closed for the weekend. Today 5-26 Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. Stop at 5:30 people were sitting in there but we were told that they would have a table at 7 pm now we saw a lot of tables empty. 2 strikes your out in my book. read more

Ordered Mussels and pizza, taste great. Best of all, they have 3 tesla chargers out front. I was able to have dinner and gain 35 miles of range in the same time! read more

Unimaginative, overpriced food, poorly prepared, slopped on a plate, and the service was very...odd.

What used to be the Newfane Creamery is now the Fat Crow. We loved going to the Creamery so when it burned down we truly were sad. The Fat Crow has brought the soul and food back with style. The pizza was outstanding and the fish and chips we ordered were top notch. Loved the Brussel sprout appetizer...it hit the spot to start off dinner. We will definitely be going back as there is so much more to try ! read more

This is a great restaurant all around. We had a late 9pm dinner by Vermont standards so the place was just quieting down. The ambience is casual by very cool. The food and service were both amazing. The clam chowder is award winning, eggplant fries were awesome, the lobster Mac n cheese was fabulous, the salmon with cream pesto sauce was top notch. We were raving to our waitress about the food and ended up talking to the chef Brantley and owner Denise who were both really nice. They were both gracious with their time on a busy Friday night. We will definitely be back again. read more

From the ashes of the terrific Newfane Cafe & Creamery has risen not a phoenix, but a crow--and a fat one, too. The flat-iron pork, French onion soup, Kobe beef burger and fries, and regional brew I sampled were first class all the way. Decor is rural steampunk, featuring exquisite bespoke furniture and fixtures. Fans of the old Creamery will appreciate the antique motorcycles and the long, swoopy Jefferson-nickel bench. Fat Crow is a welcome and much-needed addition to the Newfane townscape. read more

Very impressed, The three of us agreed it was the best dinner we've had in quite a while. Also five stars to our waitress Elizabeth !!!.

Loved the craftsmanship of this rustic, new restaurant. Delicious food, nice broad selection and a vegan friendly choice. It's a popular place. Server at bar was efficient and friendly as we found at most restaurants in the region. BUT Hostess/owner was surprisingly very unwelcoming for an owner; seemed annoyed: by people coming in (well...they don't take reservations for small groups), figuring out seating for numerous walk in diners on a Thurs night, and we felt rushed to finish & give up our seats for waiting diners. The space is limited by the motorcycle decor and big artsy metal chair made of quarters.why not add more seats in room and at bar and get a welcoming host? read more

Delicious food great staff. Can't wait to go again!!!! Best streak tips!! Good beer can't go wrong with this place !

The food is amazing, a very friendly staff, and architecturally pleasing space. I am a vegetarian and there are plenty of great options which is not always the case at many eateries. They have a nice selection of wine and beer to complement your dinner. I highly recommend their wood-fired pizza, fish tacos, and veggie burger. Don't forget the eggplant fries! Enjoy! read more
