Awwww I loved this place! We stayed at a hotel very close and walked over in the morning for some breakfast, walking up it's very cute and set up like a small market with an outdoor patio too. We ordered breakfast at the counter then they bring the food to you, we sat out on the patio which was nice and covered. The food came out soon and all the little touches were great, my daughter's cereal plate had the cutest milk jug and fruit with it, my MIL egg plate looked great but my Farmhouse bagel sandwich was excellent!! It was just perfect, the bagel wasn't too bready, egg, cheese, sausage with a spicy sweet jam...with some arugula and pico on the side, all combined together it made the perfect sandwich! I loved it! I'd give this place a solid C, maybe a C+ if I'm being generous. While visiting St Augustine we were staying nearby and wanted breakfast on our way out of town. It ok, but nothing exciting. I'll admit it, I'm a coffee snob and not a fan of coffee in a styrofoam cup. I had the breakfast sandwich, the hubs had eggs and sausage. The sausage was kinda weird. We were the only people there on a Monday morning. Our food came out barely warm and was fully cold about halfway through eating. Ironic to me that a place that markets themselves as farm centric has only disposable cups, silverware, and condiments. Super wasteful. Restaurant was clean, and ambience was nice, but a few issues that could be easily remedied soured me on ever going back. First, I tried to order a burger medium rare, and the watress told me the "rarest" they would cook it would be medium-well. So, as the customer, they're not prepare the food the way you want. I ordered a different sandwich, and our dishes were served with plastic dinner ware, which I found to be less than impressive. I then went to the men's room which was disgustingly dirty, with a bare spot with sheetrock visible where they removed some sort of dispenser and left it. They don't put condiments like butter on the table, and serve a dish with just one or two pats of butter. my wife had to go to the front and ask for extra butter, and she was given just two more pats of butter. Our first time here. I ordered the vegan chorizo wrap and my hubby the Rooster sandwich. We enjoyed sitting outside while eating. Hubby loved his sandwich but wished it came with a side for $10. They put a small handful of arugula on the plate with your sandwich but with a wrap you can't put it in. Not so sure the outside tables get cleaned that often in between customers. I like that they brought your food to you when it was ready and the server was masked. It was fun being able to pick my own coconut. For a place that charges you $14 for eggs, sausages and grits, charges you for water, and tacks on 4% for credit card payments, one expects better than plastic utensils wrapped in plastic, plastic cups, and round dollar-sized sausage patties that were obviously taken out of a grocery aisle package. Love this spot for a good vegan breakfast. Their beyond breakfast sandwich is fully vegan and super tasty. I get it with the beyond meat, but they offer a mushroom substitute as well. The datil aioli they use gives it a touch of sweetness. It's the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Paired with a side of their roasted potatoes and a sweet tea (the Southern Way), and it's worth both the price and the wait. They are usually short staffed, but are friendly and attentive. FarmHand is a super-cool spot who's interior will surprise you based on its placement next to the road. They have a wide variety of breakfast foods and a decent number of coffee products, though I don't know what kind of coffee service they actually had since I just got a black drip. The drip was weaker than I wanted, and I find that even at some other places in the area - I don't know if it's a regional thing, the Florida water effect, or just a way to save a little money. Maybe it's just easier to please the variety of tourists. In the end, I would look for other places to get the flavor I want for the price and there's hardly any reason not to go exactly where you want with everything being in close proximity. On the value/money note, I also feel like if I walk in with a standard travel coffee cup and order "16 oz", the server should just fill my mug. Don't waste a cup and let me just pay for the amount I need for my mug. I do wish Yelp allowed me to rate based on a selection of categories, or even let me add my own so it's easier to filter out what doesn't interest you. So my rating today is solely based on a black drip. read more

Sorry, but.... Barf. I've had way better breakfast at an airport. This is one of the most deceiving businesses in St. Augustine. There's nothing "farmhand" about it. It's literally the most brown, bland and soggy meal I've had in a long time. The bread is mush, the sausage tastes like extremely processed hamburger meat and I think the cheese is, cheezwiz??. Everything is just wrong. I couldn't even finish it. The girl at the cash register was SUPER nice though! We live here and we'll never be back. The food was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best I've had either. I felt the portions were small for the price. We ordered a cup of water, a bottled water, orange juice, coffee, farmhand breakfast plate, and then the pancake breakfast plate and it came out to around $50. For the price I just expected more. The service was okay. I don't feel like anything extraordinary was done but the staff were nice and we waited about 15-20mins for our food. I was not a fan of the plastic utensils. They were kind of flimsy and were challenging to use when trying to cut the pancakes. Again, for the price you would expect to have nicer silverware. I have visited FarmHand's kchn multiple times over the past year as well as prior to it switching owners, changing names, and all that good stuff! I stopped in really quickly this past weekend to grab breakfast with my family. We had a great time as always. My mother ordered the ranchero bowl which she was pleased with! It was seasoned and super filling she said. My boyfriend ordered the French toast which he could not get enough of! It was sweet and tasty. I ordered the same thing I order every time because it always hits the spot! I ordered the rooster sandwich. It's light and delicious! I also ordered the lemonade to drink which was perfect! All as I can say is I'm confused and maybe we caught the business on a bad day! WE went for a late breakfast on Monday morning and was told right away we'd be looking at a 30-45 min wait for our food which was ok since we were visiting my nephew and this gave us an opportunity to catch up. When the food finally came it was barely warm and not very good portions for the prices. We eat out allot and I review a fair number of businesses and hardly ever complain, but this experience was far from good. The prices are way to high for the portion size and quality. My Grilled Cheese was almost $8.00 and wasn't made with a higher end cheese like Gruyere, Gouda or Manchego but plain and flavorless white American cheese. My Tomato Bisque was good but the portion size was maybe 4oz for $4.79. In the end for the bill was $57.00 after tip. I'm willing to pay higher prices for high quality and unique dishes but none of our were at all. Two slices of French Toast of $12.79 is just wrong! There are better much more affordable options for breakfast like the Maple Biscuit Company and Blue Hen. I soo wanted to have a good experience at Farmhand Kitchen as I loved the concept; but we didn't. read more

Cute spot. I wasn't sure what to expect. I have seen this place several times and today looked up a breakfast spot and pulled up realizing it was the place I had seen before. You walk in and to the right and order at a counter and seat yourself - they give you a number and bring the drinks and food to your table. It took me a minute to realize that because the counter is off to the side. The guy at the front counter was not very friendly and welcoming from the start. He was also not wearing his mask properly as his nose was exposed. He especially loved (sarcastic) when I started asking questions about menu options and what could be made dairy-free due to an allergy. Anyway - I ended up getting the breakfast platter with potatoes instead of the grits (due to dairy), sausage, toast and scrambled eggs. Everything was seasoned really well, especially the potatoes (roasted fingerling potatoes). My husband got the French toast which was smothered in Nutella and topped with fruit, and a side of bacon. The bread was so big and thick (that's what she said!). For drinks we got hot coffee and a black cold brew, nothing special, but they had lots of different options and flavors. I would probably consider going back, even with the super friendly guy at the counter. Also, keep in mind, it was a Monday so maybe he was having a bad case of the Monday's. read more

Stopped in with family while we were in town for the weekend. Half of us are vegan so this spot was perfect. We all had the Vegan bagels and they were very good. I also ordered a side of the grits and they were very good with flavor unlike most places. My husband had the Ranchero bowl and he enjoyed it. The only downside was it took forever to get our food but the staff in all honesty was very nice and were all moving as fast as possible so it was not from lack of that. The vegan chorizo wrap with potatoes was very fresh and favorful.  The cranberry muffin had delicious tart cranberries and a dusting of powdered sugar, with a side of whipped cream. Quite a tasty treat! The fresh fruit on this day were grapes and sliced strawberries, which glistened prettily, perhaps sweetened with agave? On the way out of St. Augustine and wanted a decent breakfast, so gave this establishment a try. For breakfast we tried the vegetarian platter with vegan sausage grits- it was quite tasty. My partner had the egg wrap and it is substantial and delish. Lattes and chai abound... all good. My comment to management would be: Take all crap off counter and open up 2 registers. Only one register exists? The line to order is constantly backed up. On a Sunday morning I watched people walk out while waiting to order. I saw 6 employees behind the counter & kitchen while 9 customers were in line (a few sitting) and you couldn't handle it. Maybe a bad day, but I think not after reading similar reviews . Farmhand kitchen was a good experience. We stopped in and we're offered seating wherever we wanted, however we had to get up and order our food because it is self service. They had a lot of coffee choices, I had a cappuccino and added lavender and vanilla to it and it ended up being delicious. My mother had a very good breakfast sandwich which I highly suggest anyone to get any day for breakfast, it is very fresh. What I found very cool is they had a sugar cube bar And they make them homemade. You can add any flavor sugar cube to your coffee or tea or drink whatever you get. The only reason I rated this 4 star's is because all though my Greek salad was good, there were very little shrimp in it and they were very rubbery. It definitely wasn't worth an $8 up charge to add the shrimp. read more

I have attempted to come here every single time I have stayed in St. Aug for the past 2 years. Without fail, the hours in yelp and/ or* online are wrong. We live down the road from farmhand but didn't try it until today. Farmhand is super cozy and clean. The employees were very kind, and the service was fast. The food was also great. We ordered the rooster, and another sandwich. They came out in 10 minutes and were so good. Its definitely pricy for the amount of food though. The bill came to $40ish, and we still left quite hungry. We also found a piece of avocado in a side of applesauce, but it wasn't a huge deal. We'll be coming back to try breakfast! read more

The cashier was nice but I wish they'd let me know it was going to take so long, no place should take your order and then essentially hold you hostage for almost an hour because you paid and have to wait. The restaurant was clean, and the aesthetic was minimal, modern, and friendly. We ordered coffees with sugar free syrups, of which there were many to choose from.
