My mom and I went to Farmer Boys and we had a fantastic experience. One of the ladies that worked there recognized my mom from a prior visit. She was so kind and accommodating. They serve burgers here and other items. My mom likes the fried fish. It comes with a sweet tartar sauce but my mom bring Japanese prefers her soy sauce. The food is fresh. This is one of the fast food places that allows you to find a table first and order right from the table. The staff members circulate the room frequently to ensure your experience there is enhanced. Food is good. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of mom and pop burger joints in SoCal I grew up with. Love that you can get a breakfast sandwich on sourdough bread. The Mayo (I know sounds weird) is really good and worthy of dipping fries in. I wish they brought back the regular steak fries as the battered fries (while always crispy) as they don't taste as good. Burgers are flavorful and believe they are cooked over an open flame. The grilled cheese is one of the best ones I've had from a fast food joint...I would say about equal with that of The Habit. My only real complaint is the fuzzy math when it comes time to use a coupon. I wanted to use the 20% off coupon, but the cashier said that I couldn't use it with the B1G1 50% off on the sandwich deal she gave me. When I told her the 20% Coupon would be a greater discount even when charging me full price for both sandwiches, she got flustered and said she couldn't do it. For the record, $3.85 before tax discount for the B1G1 is less than the $5.39 discount I would have received using the 20% off coupon ($15.38+4.99+3.29+3.29=26.95 before tax minus 20% = $5.39 discount. read more

Ordered two pastrami sandwiches, a shake, and onion rings. Only got four onion rings, and pastrami sandwiches had clearly been taken from freezer and microwaved. All this cost $50. I have heard they offer excellent hamburgers for about $15-20, but I won't be back to find out. read more

First time having farmer boys and when you walk inside you notice the cleanliness. You can either order at the front or you can scan QR code at the table and they will bring it out to you. I had the bacon burger and I don't know why I was driving by all those times. They have excellent burgers with fresh ingredients. The place was clean and the service prompt, though I wish the menu was posted closer to where you order. The meal was brought to the table in short order (only three tables were occupied at the time). I had the three-egg breakfast which came with two large sausage patties and a generous portion of hash browns. Larger portions than I get from Waffle House for the same price. I had the regular cheese burger with fries and it was possibly the worst burger I've ever had. The meat was very thin, dry and tasteless. My husband had the fish basket and he said it was good but he's trying to cut down on sodium so asked for no salt on his fries and they salted them anyway. My brother and I were hungry for breakfast after an 8 AM doctors appointment. Usually, we go to Cracker Barrel, one of our faves. Today however, we decided we would try Farmer Boys, located only a couple of blocks farther south. My first impression was good. The store was very clean. However, I'm not a fan of ordering my meal at a counter, like it is a fast food restaurant. I much prefer being able to sit down and peruse the menu, then telling my order to a waiter. I know that prices everywhere are high. But, I would place Farmer Boys in this high priced group. Example: $3.50 for a small cup of coffee. I really like that they serve breakfast on a real ceramic plate and you get metal silverware. For some reason, the coffee mugs were very small. I was surprised by the hearty portions of food we received. Half the plate was covered with hash browns. The breakfast sausages were large and tasty. My eggs, unfortunately, were not perfect. They were slightly overcooked and burnt around the edges. My overall opinion is that this place serves a decent breakfast but I do prefer the hominess and waiter service at Cracker Barrel. read more

Thought I misheard the price and at the window and asked if there was a mistake. $19.67! I asked why so much and was told $7 for onion rings an $12 for sandwich. My chicken sandwich and zucchini were all piping hot and delicious. They had a promotion for St. Patrick's day and I got a free zucchini as a result. Turns out they were 4 giant pieces and really fresh. My sandwich was hot in terms of heat, nice and fresh as well. It was the fiery chicken, that's a bit questionable as the spice level was about a 3. But it was delicious and their customer service more than made up for it. When starting to write this review, the thought popped into my head "why do I eat at Farmer Boys? " My answer is that the food is better than the mainstream fast food options that I consistently avoid. Though a few of my recent visits to this (Higley/Baseline) Farmer Boys location have left me very dissatisfied. I'll share my most recent negative experience (and hopefully Omar, the owner, will see this and act on it). I usually bring others with me on each visit. This time family and a friend. Their orders were OK, and I ordered a hamburger that came out on the wrong bun. Their attempt to fix it resulted in the correct bun but the wrong meat. Two apologies behind, they came out with the third attempt which was the same initial (wrong bread) sandwich but this time the fries were also gone. They admitted it was a simple order (and correctly printed on the receipt) but they just kept doing it incorrectly. This process took a significant amount of time the others in my party had already finished eating so I declined their offer to make a fourth try at it and was refunded my portion of the order. I ate nothing. It's worth noting that we were the only people in the restaurant. Not busy! One of the employees was seen dancing and laughing about the matter, though each time someone came to the table they were polite. I haven't decided if I'll go back to Farmer Boys. The people are nice but they are mostly matter-of-fact with their customers. I've been observing their interactions over the years. They could use some attention to simple detail and some third party customer service training (coupled with good management backbone). It's too easy to keep using the "can't get good help" or "they don't want to work" excuses. First time at a Farmer Boys. Ok this place gives crazy big portion sizes. Since this was our first rodeo here and i was r super hungry I ordered the zucchini 2x4's . I thought I ordered you know.. the standard about 3" sticks... I got 4 2x4's of zucchini . They literally cut these from state fair size /# winning produce ! He had a salad .. again i'm ordering the bad stuff .. the planks were delicious they use cornmeal breading and it's not super thick . All hand cut they appeared . He gobbled down the entire salad. We will be looking for the local store as we see the TV commercials in CA / Ventura County but i haven't seen one yet .. I'll check yelp. read more

I recently visited for the third time. I've had salads with my parents. We enjoyed the fresh ingredients and large portions. The second time I had a burger and brought one to a co-worker. Very large burger, quality ingredients, great taste! This time, I purchased for my son and I. We had to wait a little while. But, I don't mind when the service is good and I know I'm receiving a freshly cooked product. The menu has a lot of options for entrees and sides. Also, looking forward to trying the shakes. The drive-thru cashier was extremely friendly and sweet. The milkshake was subpar at best I expected something a bit richer. Fresh fries and huge zucchini fries! I got the big cheese burger and it was good. The buns might have been too fluffy and big but if you like good old sesame buns, this is for you. The second time went inside and ordered to go and received none of my order. Call the restaurant and the only way they could help me is if I drove back.
