The drinks are watered down real bad. The owners daughter who is a manager tries to convince you that the drink is good when clearly you can see and taste that it's a watered down drink...Then she started harassing me on why I wanted another better tasting drink she claim that she couldn't give me another one we had two horrorible drinks that were made badly. Then she proceeded to tell me that maybe it's my taste buds may be bad what?? What manager saids that to a customer. Then she does the unthinkable...she tries to give that nasty drink to my Husband and approached him while I was at the bar trying to get a better drink complaining to him about me what?? This bitch is crazy. I told her off and told her she can have all this crap and I'm leaving then she tried to throw me out and told me not to return. You cant throw me out I was already leaving her with that nasty food and severely watered down drinks. The ambiance was lack of staffing and the bar tender was a young black girl and she looked scared to death very tense around there. This place has really gone all the way down. It'll be shut down before long. I Will not ever return here! This place is BS. read more

I was expecting a bit more from Farm Table. The decor is great and space is beautiful. There was just something lacking with the food. It can be be slightly better and I would suggest focusing more on the home-cooking and farm-to-table theme and not trying to make the food too fancy whilst compromising taste. They have their own garden outside so there is the emphasis on fresh food and farm-to-table goodness. I checked their website to try to make a reservation since they open at 5pm. I called around 1pm and said I wanted a reservation for 4 adults and one child at 7pm and the person that answered the phone said no problem and took down my name. When we arrived at 7pm, there was no record of my phone call or reservation. It really didn't matter since the restaurant was empty on a Tuesday night but I was just a but confused how the communication gap occurred between the phone call and the hostess book. Either way, we sat down at a large table and there is a rustic bar and then the open kitchen area in the back where you can see the cooks preparing the food. I like the wooden tables and dim lighting and it had a very rustic, farm house feel. Their beer and wine selection is pretty minimal. $6 house cabernet and $10 glasses of Meiomi Pinot Noir and a few in between. They have Foothills so a few good craft beers on tap. The best thing we ordered were the garlic pommes frites (fries) and they were part of the small plates menu section. The portion was huge and they had the best flavor. As fa an entrees, I ordered the schnitzel and it was a huge piece of meat deep fried in the same batter as my niece's chicken nuggets. Schnitzel is supposed to be pounded flat with not too much crust but okay I gave it a shot. My mom had the liver with sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes had cheese in them and everyone at the table that tried them made a sour milk face. Cheese in sweet potatoes is not a good mix and this is back to my first point of just keeping things simple and not trying to make home-cooked comfort food fancy. My brother had a flatbread with some greens and what looked like grapes. I saw the cook make the dough and the fresh concept is there. The flavor though was lacking and it just needed something else. My sister-in-law loved the short ribs and the meat just fell off the bone. If there is a next time, I will get the pommes frites to start and short ribs. One of the managers came around during the meal to ask how things were and he had on a Gatehouse tavern shirt. I think they are owned by the same person and the tavern is right next door with bar food and drinks. The manager was very kind and since they did not have apple juice for my niece, he brought her a fresh apple instead. It's a cute place. The waitress was nice and attentive, but had very little knowledge of the menu. We had the duck egg rolls, which were awesome! We also had Crab stuffed portabello - was small and tasted like old crab. Chicken sliders - biscuits were cold and very dry, honey tasted cheap and thin, fry was good, lacked meat. Good size though. Pork risotto - the risottos was made lazily - it was not creamy and the mouth feel was all wrong- the pork tasted great, but we got maybe three pieces? I saw only cremini mushrooms and there was too much truffle oil - probably to cover up the lack of wild mushrooms The cocktails : I had a pomegranate martini- it was good, not overly sweet. I might go back for a cocktail and dessert, but not for dinner. read more

This place is really cute and the service is wonderful! I wish I remembered our server's name because he was really great! I have to admit, the food was just mediocre and I didn't feel like the protein parts of our meals were very fresh. We started with the shrimp and corn cakes appetizer and the wedged salad. Both were delicious. My husband got the ribeye and I got the grouper. My husband is definitely not picky and was just not a fan of his steak. He said it didn't even taste like a ribeye, but more like a lower lever beef. He left probably half of it on his plate which tells me all I need to know. Defintely not worth $45. My grouper tasted like it was frozen and quickly thawed and then very over cooked. Aside from that, the flavor of the dish was just ok. I will say that the brussel sprouts that came with the steak and the side of mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious!! The wine pour was also quite nice. I might be willing to visit this restaurant again, but would have to be in the area and woukd definitely order something different. read more

My husband and I recently enjoyed a date night here. The restaurant is so cozy and charming. The food and service were excellent! We ordered the mussels and French fries for appetizers and they were delicious. For dinner, we had the Pork Schnitzel and short ribs. The pesto pasta with the schnitzel was divine: so light and herbaceous. The short ribs were cooked to perfection: so tender with a savory glaze. Our waitress was attentive and so sweet. Doesn't quite pull it off. I'm fine with small portions, as long as I get something that tastes intensely amazing. The sea-bass did not. Nothing at our table did. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't good enough to justify the price. On a scale from zero, to Olive Garden, to ten... I'd say it's a 6.5 The service was fine, but again, it wasn't good enough to justify the price. There's something going on with the ceilings too. I don't know if it is the building material, the height, or the design, but it is EXTREMELY loud in the dining room. We couldn't hold a conversation beyond the person across or next to us. read more

Honestly, There is no reason to give this business less than 5 stars unless you are not satisfied with the interior. It's southern and is definitely not on my "modern.chic.simple" list. It was EXCELLENT! It's not cheap but it's worth the price. My hubby had duck and it happened to be the BEST he had ever tried. I had scallops. Coming from the city-port I'm super picky and very knowledgeable when it comes to my seafood quality and prep. It was EXCELLENT! Tender and not overcooked. Also, we came 20 minutes before closing. It's nice to see a menu that can range from German favorites such as schnitzel with house made pickled veggies and kraut to crispy pomme frittes with freshly made garlic aioli. We've enjoyed many carefully crafted dishes throughout the year that seem to always capture the essence of the season's bounty. I've been here 3x and this last visit over the weekend was by far the best. The first time I came here, I just got a cocktail and appetizer (pomme frites) at the bar with a friend. The frites were underseasoned and bland, cocktail was good. Second time I got the fisherman's stew which was great. I appreciate how many gluten free items are available and clearly marked on the menu. This last time, I got the gluten free shortribs with roasted veggies and potatoes and everything was excellent. The shortribs were so tender and flavorful. Veggies and potatoes were well cooked and seasoned. I'd come back to order the same thing again for sure. Staff is friendly and proficient. The sauce added some nice acidity and heat Key lime pie in a mason jar-perfect way to end a meal. Sheesh! This place seems to check every box in the compendium of farm-to-table clichés. The demi-chic interior, combining rusty Old McDonald implements with an almost steampunk attitude, the reimagined gamey surf-and-turf menu, and the uninspired name. To top it off, it's in an upscale strip mall. But it works--too well. The owners of Farm Table have gussied up the exterior enough that you almost forget you're staring out at a parking lot, giving it the same sort of chic I'd expect in downtown Raleigh (or, perhaps even more appropriately, a foodie college town like Bloomington IN. Maybe Chapel Hill?) The rabbit shepherd's pie was creative without ever getting pretentious, and it defied every expectation of rabbit by being genuinely satiating. The poutine-inspired frites were fun and irresistible, and the reasonably priced dessert options rounded out a generally terrific experience. Perhaps most intriguing of all: on the night we visited a couple used Farm Table as the site of their wedding. Not the reception, not the rehearsal dinner, THE WEDDING. The towering cake presided over a table of 30, yet it wasn't a private affair. They wanted the rest of the restaurant's patrons to share the experience, and the staff at Farm Table handled it like pros. Getting married at a restaurant--I'd say that's a stamp of approval. An awful experience with Todd the general manager. He nor his kitchen staff could be bothered to wear a mask. When politely brought up, he got defensive- stating he was complying. When I stated the actual requirements from the state- he just said he didn't need to comply. His rude, unprofessional behavior showed little care to his staff or the general public.
