We called the restaurant to see if they had seating available as it was a Friday night, and the woman on the phone said she only had covered out door seating, as it was raining. I told her I was coming right over with children and asked if they had a child's menu which she replied yes. I again told her we were on our way, and asked if we needed reservations. She didn't reply yes or no. So we got there in about ten minutes and the hostess, who sounded like the person I spoke with on the phone, then told me she no longer had any seating. She didn't apologize or even seem to care that we had tracked our baby and child in during the rain which is difficult enough, to then be told that there are no seats, when we just called and asked about seating to avoid a situation like this. I would have enjoyed the meal out, but good luck retaining patrons which such unhelpful and unpleasant hostess. read more

Love love love this place!! The atmosphere is so charming, service was great, food was quick and delicious! Must go back

These folks know how to make healthy food taste good! Very nice atmosphere and are extremely nice to my kiddo! Highly recommended

Visited on a Saturday evening. Did make a reservation earlier in the day, a previous visit had no tables available. Was seated early and food came in good time. Unfortunately the chicken and vegetables had so much pepper in it was almost inedible, the steak was good but the brussel sprouts were on the colder side. Spinach salad and bread were good and portions were fair but overall a bit on the expensive side. Do not recommend if you are looking for a quiet, intimate dinner. Far too noisy for that. There was plenty of attentive wait staff but not once did any of the management stop and ask how our meal was. read more

I was just going to tell my friend about this restaurant who is in IOWA and I saw all the reviews and I said what the heck I will write one. The place is nice if you are in the area. Make a reservation cause its packed and parking SUCKS. Its adjacent to Lowes grocery store. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, servers nice and menu has a lot of choices to leave you trying to pick what you want as they are intriguing homey sorta local fresh but filling kinda plates I think that your experience depends on which server you get and what day of the week it is. I used to work in hospitality so I only diss people in that occupation when they deserve it. Total 4 people - one had fish, one had chicken pot pie, one had mac and cheese one had short ribs. It was not FAB OMG YOU GOTTA TRY this. It was go with some friends and Yack and eat bread and shoot the... 3.5 outta 5 2 people paid $80 2 people paid $72 2 people drank more... read more

Just got home from a lovely dinner and it was delicious. We had the Mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, pork medallions and roast chicken. All the dishes were ample portions, properly presented, delicious and reasonably priced. I've lived in this little ville for over 15 years and this is great for here, sure the service can be better, but this isn't Charleston. Good help is hard to find and this place will find them. That all being said our waitress was a pleasure and it was quite busy...If y'all live here, enjoy this place and review it so some of those raleighites will say good things about it... read more

Overdue review from our visit in Sept '14. We had a great meal and experience at Farm Table and are so pleased to have this place to go back to. We stopped visiting Girasole as we had a couple disappointing meals there. We dined on a Saturday night on their great patio. In fact, we were still talking about our meal on Monday. We have always enjoyed having our meal on their patio - such a cool private tucked away little space. We started with a Flatbread appetizer that was very tasty... goat cheese, figs, honey, arugula ($10) - highly recommended. It was very large and would easily satisy four people. Our entrees were the Asian Salmon over soba noodles/vegetables ($19) and the 'nightly special' of a thick perfectly grilled moist pork chop topped with peach/apple compote served with broccoli rabe and grilled sweet potatoes ($20). We took a piece of chocolate pecan pie to go - superb. If you've taken Girasole off your list, give Farm Table a try -you'll be glad you did. The changes they've made have put this back on our list of regular places. read more

Delicious food, great service, local beer, divine atmosphere! We will definitely be back.

This was a last minute dinner choice and it was perfect! Everyone was nice and our server Suzie was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the menu and restaurant history (we asked a lot of questions). The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the sweet corn cake, the sauteed scallops and stuffed chicken. All of the items were hot, didn't take long to come out and were absolutely delicious. The drinks (Down Yonder & Front Porch Sipper) were also delicious. I will be back, now that I know they're nearby and the food is fresh and delicious. read more

Got to visit this place for the first time last night. I loved the comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The menu was original with a nice variety of flavor sand everything we got was fantastic. Our server did a great job and her recommendations were spot on. We'll definitely be back! read more

Extremely HOT in here. Really need to stop pinching pennies and turn on the AC in summer months!!

Wow! Great new find for us. Fun, eclectic farmhouse atmosphere. Good menu options. We ordered the fries with the bacon mac and cheese. AMAZEBALLS!!! So much flavor!! Nice portions and everything seemed so fresh!! Will definitely be returning. We were too stuffed but plan on coming back and trying to pecan pie next time. read more

Best salmon I've ever had and I've had a lot of salmon! Lots of great gluten free options. The patio area is absolutely beautiful too. One of our favorite places for an impromptu date night or a special occasion! read more

For those of you who want to eat overpriced, average food in an okay farm setting, this is the place for you. Otherwise, as I said, it was overpriced, half sized drinks, and okay food that I could've made at home for 1/5 of the price. Will not be eating here again or recommending it. Sadly. I would've loved to support local. read more

Found a suspicious non food item in an entree. Needless to say we didn't eat the tainted food.

Great place, and less expensive than the YELP info. Almost everything on the menu is between 6 and 22 dollars. We had chicken livers, duck, and the shrimp and grits, and everything was delicious. Our wait person, Kate, was attentive and efficient. The place was crowded, so make reservations and go! read more

The menu is eclectic and has something for almost everyone. The portions aren't huge but they are sufficient, and the food was really good. The goat cheese and fig flatbread appetizer was fantastic. We had the trout and short ribs, and both were excellent. Some of the cheesiest Mac N cheese l have ever seen. Good local beer selection as well- The service really needs a little help, otherwise, it was a great meal. read more

I ate there this evening and ordered short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes and was served pot roast w/potatoes instead.. I didn't say anything to the waitress or the manager but I will not eat there again.. If they want to cheap out their customers, it will cost them in the long run.. read more

This is my new favorite restaurant. Obviously the food is fresh. I've been twice and my meals were amazing. We took our children (10 and 9) but they were not impressed. We decided it is a great date night place. read more

This is the third time I've been to this restaurant. The food has always been extraordinary. Tonight my husband said the rib eye was less than Excellent, he ordered medium, got rare( very) and there was much grizzle in the piece. The scallops were wonderful as were the best & peach salads. The ambiance is loud, chaotic and a bit uncomfortable, especially on a Saturday evening. I enjoyed the patio much better on my last visit. There was a party out there tonight and it was incredibly loud, spilling over into the main room at times. . Service tonight was poor. Drinks arriving with much delay, server attempting to remove glasses & dishes when not finished. Coffee served ice cold, replacement not forthcoming after 15 minutes and had to be requested again. Dessert was served about 10 minutes before tea & coffee arrived. Refills were not offered on any thing but alcoholic beverages, water not refilled without a request. read more

This place has the appearance and name of a high end farm to table dining establishment. Instead it is ordinary. The menu items look like they will be great, but they are really just way over priced meals you could make at home. And they charge you for bread. Who charges for bread? Not an awful meal, but when a place has that many tables there's no way to execute fine dining. read more

This review is not for the food. We never got seated. It is for the customer service/hostess. I have to say I don't think I have ever been treated this poorly in any restaurant we have ever been to. I was really excited about trying this restaurant since it had great reviews and the photos of the food looked great. We walked in on a Saturday night around 7:45. 3/16. I saw that they were busy but thought I would ask about the wait. There were 3 of us and when we walked in...the hostess (long blonde hair) gave us a dirty look and didn't say anything. She just stood there staring at us. No hello...what's up...how you doin'....nothing. So I said there are 3 of us and she continued to just stare and say nothing. Once again I said 3 and she asked if we had reservations. I told her no and she just shrugged her shoulders. After a lengthy pause ...I thought she would ask if we wanted to wait...but no...nothing...I asked when a table might be available and she told me approximately 8:30. I told her we were willing to wait and she just stood there and again..we got the stare. I asked her if she wanted my number to call since they didn't have pagers or anything and she said ok grudgingly with another dirty look. She wrote down my number and we walked outside to wait. We never got a call or heard our name called. I did not go back into the restaurant to inquire since I didn't want to have a staring contest again. We ended up going down the street to another restaurant who were very happy to have our business. read more

Went to Farm to Table first time last Saturday, 12/6. It was terrible!! Ordered a rib-eye and had to send it back twice and still the chef couldn't cook it medium. All the vegetables were undercooked. Don't waste your time and hard earned money!!~ Andy read more

My husband and I went to The Farm Table for the first time right before Christmas and fell in love with it! It is on the pricy side but the atmosphere, food and service was worth it. We had the flat bread and scallops for an appetizer and both were very good. I had the 16 oz. pork chop with sweet potato puree and baby roasted brussel sprouts. It was the best pork chop I've ever had! Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. My husband loved his short ribs too. I agree that the noise is a little high but you can adjust to it. We need more good quality restaurants in Wake Forest and I hope this one is here to stay. Donna H. read more

We went to Farm Table knowing nothing about it, but with the name, we assumed that it was a meat + 3, country cooking place. Boy were we wrong! The majority of the dishes offered were vegan or vegitarian to start with. Several of the dishes / sides were burned and overall not very appetising, and very overpriced. I guess we should have done our homework before we just stopped by. read more

This place was well overdue in Wake Forest. Quite possibly my favorite place to hit with my wife. The menu changes often enough to keep you coming back. The owners, the staff, the food, the atmosphere, the location.....check, check, check, check, and check. The scallops, the short ribs, the schnitzel....all favorites. read more

Very disappointed in service and food. It took 20 mins to get our wine and cocktails. Our food came out before our appetizers. Being from the south the chicken and dumplings were a huge disappointment. It tasted like a Campbell's soup broth and my friends dumplings had a sharp chicken bone that cut the top of her mouth. When she told the manager his response was "that happens sometimes". The kale had so much vinegar on it that it was inedible. over priced for that kind of quality read more

My wife and I tried this place this past weekend. Neither of us were satisfied with this restaurant. I will say the appetizer was good, but for the main dishes, (they refer to them as Large plates) were simply plain. By the way, my "Large Plate" of chicken dumplings was literally about 1/2 cup for $17. This place is very overpriced for standard food. We were excited about this place opening near us but extremely disappointed! read more

Dinner here for the second time. The atmosphere of a farm house is quant and not overly kitch. The hostess as expected is a young women and polite and prompt. The cocktails were made properly and delivered well. Our waitress was polite and prompt though it's always a bit unbelievable when a waitress tells you every single thing on the menu is fantastic and everything is fresh... I find it hard to believe Salmon is fresh, it's most certainly not flown in daily and is most likely previously frozen so not fresh. The appetizer Pomme Fritte were decent thought tons of stuff like cheese and green onions on it that are not mentioned on the menu nor added anything to the flavor other than taking away from the basic dish. The rib eye I orders was cooked to medium as expected and was flavorful with a good char I like. The pork schnitzel was cooked fairly well and flavorful. The green bean casserole was soupy and had a onion string casserole topping no bread crumbs. The children's chicken fingers were fresh meat and were excellent. The overall experience is one that tries to emulate a high style farm to table and the quality of ingredient is there, the skill of the chefs to execute is not. read more

So, I wanted to give the place 4 Stars, but I got a feeling I was there on a bad night and will need to go again. First the waitstaff. The hostesses were pleasant, but could have put a little extra effort into it. Once we were sat it took about 10 minutes for our waitress to arrive. This seemed to me to be a theme for the evening. Even though we didn't have reservation and were sat promptly, the waitstaff seemed over taxed, not quite short staffed, but not ready for the crowd they had. Yet, very nice, and if they were overworked they did not take it out on my party. Drink Menu. It's not amazing, but very adequate. As a farm to table establishment I felt they could do a better job, sourcing some more local brews, and some of the wineries form the NC mountains to add to their current selection. The food. So let me start off the the kids menu. It's the normal pizza, chicken fingers, hamburgers and etc, but wow the portions are humongous! On the value scale for kid's food Farm Table is a steal! The Adult food is split into small and large plates. We opted to do a mish-mosh of the two. On the small plates the Beet Salad is a solid triple, great mesh of flavors and just enough horseradish to make it memorable. My my palate, I felt the dressing had way too much salt, which I felt was the theme through all the dishes. Even the kid's food I felt was salty. Again, I am thinking maybe this was a bad night? Also the clams were very well cooked, but the star of the clam dish was the sausage at the bottom. Really flavorful and a great kick. Made me wish I grabbed the sausage small plate I saw. For the large plate we grabbed the Sea Scallops. I will admit I am a sea scallop snob, and I was impressed! The scallops were perfect. The add-in needed help. It was served with cous cous, something else (I don't remember what it was because it wasn't memorable in the dish) and a tomato vinaigrette. Again IMO over salted. Also the cous cous wasn't warm, hot, nor cold. Couldn't make up my mind how it was supposed to be served. Dessert. Another reason I have to go back, I wasn't feeling dessert today but I saw a few as they were be tabled, and I must go back. I believe it was a Pecan Pie that caught my attention the most. Like I said not only will I go back because I am a local, and lets be honest there is not much in Wake Forest, but I felt it was a bad night. My hunch says this place is a solid 4+ Stars on the right night. read more

Over rated. Food was bland and very small portion size.I won't be back to many good places to go in the area.

I want to start by saying that I am NOT giving this 3 star review for the food. The food is consistently great, good presentation, great quality, excellent taste. What I am giving a 3 star review for is the Customer Service. I called to make a reservation for 6. The only time they had available was 5:30, which was fine. When we arrived we were seated at a table set up for 8 people but we were a party of 6. The setup was not good for conversation especially for a party of 6, which we were. We asked the waitress if we could rearrange the seating to accomodate our party, her response "well it is setup like this because we have a party of 8 after you" At this point I am confused because at that moment we are a party of 6 not 8, right???? So why does it matter what the party is after us???? Then she said I need to ask the manager to come over because I can't make that decision. The manager comes over and says...after you we have a party of 8 so that is why the table is set up this way.....Yet again aren't we a party of 6, so why would we care about a party coming after our reservation?????? Then she says hold on let me go ask someone what we can do, she comes back and says, well we can just move the extra table outside........OK so why did we have to go through 3 people to come to this conclusion????? Bottomline......Why would you think that our party of 6 would care about the party coming after us and why would you set up the table for a party coming 1.5 hours after us and not accomodate our reservation and our time slot???? We have been there several times and never had problems but based on this we will NOT be coming back anytime soon. Customer Service skills need to improve!!!!!! read more

Costly---not enough food for the price-- small portions, no bread or salad. Had to wait a long time for meals. Walked away hungry

We were so pleased to meet a friend here on her recommendation. Service was friendly and attentive without overreaching. We shared the Caesar salad and lentils as appetizers- both good with the lentils flavoring especially exceptional. Entrees were grouper and the pork chop. And, the praline cheesecake was the perfect ending to an outstanding dining experience. read more
