This is my go to neighborhood spot. The owner is wonderful and they just completely redid their salon - it's gorgeous! They always have the newest colors and trends (powder/dipping, etc). They are extremely thorough and I get the best mani/pedi in town! Highly recommend - give them a try! read more

I snuck in here in Christmas Eve, which was also a Sunday, and got a no chip manicure. The tech was so nice and meticulous, and I even got s little gift bag when I left as an xmas present. Highly recommended, would definitely come back. Don't miss this hidden gem. read more

Got my eyebrows down here last week. Salon is small, and a little hot inside, but I was very happy with how my brows came out. For brow and lip wax, was $12, which is comparable to back home in North Carolina. Sounds good to me! read more

I went here today to get a no chip mani with two nail designs and my eyebrows waxed. I ignored all the yelp bad reviews on here and decided to go and try it because it is right across the street from my building and I was like why the hell not how bad can a manicure go wrong. The no chip price is really nice and honestly the people who work inside are really nice too. I got my nails done with Rowe and im picky when it comes to my nails and usually i always go to my regular nail lady in another shop. All in all i just wanted to write the review to give this place a good review because i enjoyed my experience. read more

I went here after seeing the reviews here on Yelp. Because of what I read I had a little idea of what to expect. Especially since I had been eyeing this nail salon for about a week everyday on my way to work. I thought today I'd have a nice lunch break manicure. As a past reviewer referred to the location dungeon like, I have to disagree. Yes its in a lower level, and it is a smaller space, but dungeons tend to be cold, dark, dank, and dirty. It was def. none of those, it is warm, well lit, and kind of comfortable (only because the women working there were friendly). The lady's were very prompt when I came into the establishment they served me right away. Which was great since I was on my hour lunch. I opted a manicure and eyebrow waxing. But sadly because the manicure took a whooping 30mins (which I thought was a little slow) I couldn't spare the extra time. My manicure was only okay. Not the best, my nails were unevenly shaped, but my french polish was done with time and care. The women that work at this salon are very pleasant and the customers that were there seemed to have all been regulars. I think for the convience of the location I might give them a go again. I love the friendly environment and the fact that they promptly address you and serve you. Their prices for the most part are appropriate, but the price for a manicure is a bit steep for the finished product. My french manicure was $19 they charge $5 extra for french. ManiPedi $35 pretty avg with a special that day for $25 (would have gone for it but not enough time). Overall, I think this is a pleasant little shop to stop by if your on a lunch break and want pretty nails immediately. read more

I have been going to this salon for almost 3 years and my nails always look beautiful. Plus, I get compliments often from my coworkers. I'm glad I found this place. read more

I went in on Friday for dip nails. They gave me a ring of colors to choose from. I specifically told her I don't like the nails to too thick. I picked the color and she started. I don't think she really knew what she was doing. I know this is pretty new, but they should be trained properly when they charge $45 for this service. I was there for an hour and a half just for my dip manicure. My nails look so thick, and uneven. One side is thicker than the other. One nail looks like a bubble. I mentioned it to her while she was doing it, and she got annoyed, spoke her language to the other nail techs and ignored me. After an 90 minutes of sitting there, I just wanted to leave. I will never go back here. I'm so dissatisfied. It's crazy that I paid $45 for this awful service. read more

I was served by Jasmine and she was very nice and personable. She provided excellent customer service and was gentle on my hands. I got the no chip manicure and false nail removal. The service was fast for people on the go. read more

I love this shop. It's close by my job. The atmosphere is great, the nail technicians do a excellent job. There are two particular nail technicians that I go to. Kim and Isabella does an awesome job. Very friendly place, I like how they have extended the salon. I definitely recommend this nail salon read more

I've used this salon on and off for the last 2 years. It's a small place, basement level, Korean owned. The staff has always been friendly, although the accents are very strong and I do struggle to understand when I'm being addressed. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for service (although I try to go during low traffic times). I think the prices are pretty inexpensive for the Gold Coast. I get gel nails ($35 for a full set, $10 for take off). There's a place just 3 blocks from here that charges $45 for the same gel nails and they didn't do half as good a job on the French manicure. I also get the occasional pedi. They do have the nice massage spa chairs with warm foot bath for pedicures. They include a nice foot/ calf massage with the service. It's not an extensive one, but anytime someone rubs my feet after 10 hours in stiletto's I'm a happy girl. I've only had one weird experience there. It won't stop me from going again, but it was uncomfortable when it happened. I had gone in for my usual; a full set of gel nails with a French manicure. They always air brush the French which is fine but if they don't do a really job with the sealer and top coat it will chip off really easy. My attendant wasn't feeling well that day; she had the mask up the entire time with a tissue stuffed between her nose and the mask. I'm sure she was exhausted and just trying to get through the day. But she didn't seal my nails very thoroughly and by the time I got home, had dinner and took a shower they were already chipping. I went back the very next morning and explained my situation. I wasn't mad or upset; I told the manager I know my attendant wasn't feeling very good. I just wanted them to repaint the French. It wasn't the same girl that usually takes care of me and she was sort of rude. She asked me "what did I do to my nails" in an accusatory tone. I told her that all I had done was have dinner and shower and that was no excuse for the chipping. I usually go three weeks between fills because they do a great job (normally). I told her as much. She agreed to repaint my nails but she immediately started talking in very loud and curt tones (in Korean of course) as she did my nails. Then when she finally stopped she gave me the silent treatment. I felt super weird sitting there. I almost thought I wouldn't go back. But honestly the regular girl had always done a good job and we all have off days. I shouldn't penalize her because her co-worker was rude. So I've been back - many times since. I'm going today actually. LOL read more

This place is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Went here once they gave me a full set acrylic with medium length and charged me $38 just for my hands. The next two days my nails broke off so easily just by scratching my hand! I went back to complain she tried to charge me another $20 just to fix the three nails that broke off!!!! Then had the nerve to get an attitude when I said I only wanted to pay $15! Took the money and refused to do the polish change! Do NOT waste your money here you'll be upset! Not to mention there polish chips within a week, unless you get no chip! I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here!! read more

$14 mani, $25 pedi, and $35 mani/pedi combos every day, I believe. Not bad! It's an in-and-out kind of place. The setting isn't the greatest; it is a halfway basement, and it could use some remodeling. You help yourself to magazines, and there are no TVs or anything else interesting to look at. But they do sanitize the whirlpools after each use with a bath, pull all their tools out of a UV locker, and the drying table is UV lit - which I feel are the most important. The two ladies I've had spoke decent English and were friendly. There are 5 mani tables and 4 pedi whirlpools, and I've never had to wait on weeknights. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!! I came here today for my birthday. Wanted a fill in, with a no chip. The lady who did them was the the first one by the entrance. The shape was horrible, when she painted on my no chip it was extremely thick. So I told her I didn't like the thickness so she got upset told me it wasn't her fault I chose that polish and proceeded to drill off the color violently. She hurt my damn fingers! I was so pissed I didn't even have her put a color on! Save your money, nails and fingers and just DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I'm not the biggest fan of this place but I must admit this is only salon I've been to that gets the arch I like right

This place makes you bleed. And says its your fault. They are painful sloppy and rude.

eeeeeeeek! i received a gift certificate to this place, read the reviews on yelp, and decided to get the mani pedi before going to puerto rico. well i walked in and thought oh no. now im not one of those snobby girls who won't get a cheap mani/pedi but i'm big on cleanliness. after taking microbiology, i have become really anal about the cleanliness of a nail place. The floor was so dirty. honestly, i did get a pretty decent mani pedi, far better than i had expected. but what did me in was that halfway through my pedi, another nail tech decided to microwave some foul smelling fish and i seriously thought i was going to puke. the place is small and ew even writing about it now im getting nauseous. moving on.... anyways, i gave 2 stars bc the mani pedi was decent but there are millions of other places in the city to get a clean and nice mani pedi. don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Very sloppy. Not good service. They messed up my nail horribly and when I went back to get it redone the lady was rude and acted like I was the one who messed it up.a new lady did my nails and no one was watching her so when I went outside I saw how aweful it actually was read more

I hope this didn't accidentally post twice... wasn't logged into my account the first time. This nail salon is in a basement where there's no ventilation so the place REEKS of fumes. All of the manicurists were wearing surgical masks -- that's how bad the smell is. I got a standard pedicure which is $25, or so it says on the board. When I went to pay, I was told mine would be $30 because I got a "special massage." What? I don't think I got anything but a standard half-hour, non-spa pedicure and at no point did anyone ask me if I wanted to spend extra money for a "special massage." The icing on the cake is the fact that because I'm Asian, the pedicurist felt free to grill me the entire half hour on everything from where I went to school, what shampoo I use, to what my fiance does for a living. It was incredibly uncomfortable. I regret tipping her now but I felt pretty bad about the fact that her job is in a toxic fume-filled basement. read more

It's really unfortunate that I am giving 2 stars because I have frequented Fantasy Nails often, mostly out of convenience, as it is down the street from work and I can stop in at lunch. That being said - this is at least the 3rd time that my no chip manicure has barely lasted one week. I got my nails done last Thursday, it's the following Tuesday, and multiple nails have either chipped or on the verge of peeling off. I'd go back to get it fixed, but it then turns into a waste of my time, after I feel like I already wasted my money. read more

I actually saw a cockroach crawling around here. Needless to say--I will not be back.

These ladies win the award for Most Efficient Use of Space. As the daughter of an architect, I fully appreciate. I was particularly intrigued by the 3x3 auditorium-style chair set-up for people to wait for their appointment -- all facing the UV-light table, as if the customers drying their nails are some sort of freak show (and some of you boys out there might argue that the whole nail business is, in effect, of the freak show nature). Despite this, er, prestigious award, minus 1 star for atmosphere, sorry Fantasy. Decor ala sweatshop is not for me. Friend and I were your typical annoying customers, blazing in right after work (AKA about 30 minutes before closing -- their hours are until 8pm Mon-Fri, can't remember the weekend hours) requesting no-chip manicures. The nail techs were brilliant, most thorough job I've ever had on my nails. I really can't compliment them enough, since they spent a full 45min on our nails, even though the salon was clearly closing up. I accidentally smudged my middle finger when impatiently removing my hand from under the light to get a look at my new color, and the tech didn't bat an eye, just said "Oh, it's okay!" and fixed it. She even added an extra coat to darken up the color when I commented that it was "too red" to my friend. We didn't feel hurried at all, and they even threw in a decent hand massage at the end. $35 well-spent. (Fantasy was running a fall special that ended last week, so that base price for a no-chip is now $40) Also, they didn't charge my friend for removal of her gels (even though it was listed under their services), which I thought was very nice of them -- I don't understand salons that are basically charging you for a little dish of acetone. For $10 I can get my own gallon of acetone and a happy hour martini, thank you very much! **Side note for nail geeks: These guys use UV lights, not the new 30-second LED ones that take about 1/20 of the time. read more

I've gotta say I'm very disappointed. The girl I had was very quick and not into details. I expected a little more precision and care. Not to mention I was only one of two people in there, so there was no reason for the rush. I wanted a new full set and she hurt me while taking off my old nails. Too rough, bad job, uneven and didn't even take off my original color fully, so it showed through in some parts of my French manicure. Overall crappy experience, overpriced, and I will not be going there again. read more

I stand corrected! Fantasy's facelift went down this summer and finally the shop is reflective of their services. They even expanded into the space next door and it all looks great. I still would have kept coming regardless, but it's nice they upgraded. Go on, ladies! read more

Fantasy? More like a nightmare! The employee at the front greeted me while eating a greasy burger and fries, then proceeded to start on my nails before washing her hands! I asked her to wash her hands and for clean tools, and she begrudgingly complied. She was halfway through when someone who was apparently a regular customer came in demanding a brow wax. The woman doing my nails stopped and went to do her brow wax and came back 10 minutes later to finish my nails. NOT impressed. read more

Love love love coming here! I was so loyal to another nail shop down the street for years and when they closed down I was devastated. I came into Fantasy Nails And found the team treats you like family and always will take care of you. I'm so happy to have found my new neighborhood nail shop. I was a loyal customer for 4 years until an incident happened at the shop. I went to them every 2 weeks.Another customer spilled nail polish all over my purse. This woman refused to compensate me for the damage. The nail shop denied any responsibility, although the nail attendent had placed my purse on the ground as my nails dried. I was really disappointed that they didn't make any efforts to make up for my damaged purse. read more

My friend and I went for a mani/pedi here last week. It was 10 minutes to closing time, but I was excited when they agreed to stay open late for us. How sweet! They were not rushed either. The quality was pretty good. You sit in a spa chair. They wear gloves. The service was great. My manicure lasted a week! I got my toes buffed and it lasted 2 weeks. I will definitely be going back. read more

A friend was in town and really wanted a mani-pedi, and the place I usually go to for manicures charges $47 for both. So I came on Yelp and found out that this place charges $35 for both and is only a couple blocks from my apartment, so we checked it out. We were able to walk in and sit down right away, which was great, and I just got a manicure while my friend got both, as well as a lip wax (for $7 I think). However, the lady who did my nails was watching tv while filing them and spent the majority of the time on a personal phone call while painting my nails. Granted, for $14 it wasn't a big deal, but she didn't even bother to take the remnants of nailpolish off from my last manicure before painting on the new. The lady who had my friend did a much better job, and I had the pleasure of talking to her adorable/chatty 6 year old daughter for most of the time. In the future I think I'll stick with my usual place where I can also get a $15 manicure, but if I want a pedicure too, I'll come back here. read more
