I started coming to Legendary Spa for gel manicures almost 2 years ago. The nail technicians are some of the most talented I've seen! Not only can they do amazing nail art, they take incredible care of your nails. My nails are so healthy, and I get gel manicures every 3-4 weeks. They take the time to really make sure your cuticles and nail beds look incredible so your manicures really pop. There has yet to be a design that Mariana hasn't been able to pull off! Highly recommend manicures from Legendary Spa in River North. Mariana (https://www.instagram.com/mariana_rybchych_nails?igsh=NDg1MjduOHpmczRm) is my preferred tech and always does a phenomenal job. I usually go with a single color manicure but she still gives me the same amount of care and attention she gives to clients who have much more intricate work (check out Mariana's IG, I've linked it above). There are a few options for manicures, I personally always get GelX as my natural nails are very thin. This takes longer to do but is worth the extra time. I could easily go 5 weeks without needing to have them redone. She also does excellent pedicures! The spa is clean, has a great moody aesthetic, and there are ample parking options nearby if you aren't based within walking distance (I have a ~30 minute drive to get there). Living in the Chicago area, I have a lot of options for nail care but as long as I'm based here, I won't go anywhere else. read more

Finally got a chance to check this place out and I'm so glad I did! The front desk was pleasant and welcoming; they help me check me in. My nail tech was kind, warm and was great at designing my random nail ideas lol. Great customer service; checked with me before proceeding and really make sure my nails were healthy not just looking good. Please check this location, they really do have great services in a beautiful location. It's a little crowded in that building but it's a lot of good stuff at that location. read more

I had a lovely experience at Legendary Spa in the Merch Mart! I chose a brightening facial and I really enjoyed it. Some of the products seemed seasonal to wintertime (One in particular legit smelled like Christmas, if you know what I mean!) so I thought that was a bit strange. I would have preferred more seasonal scents/products. Katie was my aesthetician and I enjoyed her work very much. She was super nice, helpful in explaining what she was doing as she did it, and made some great recommendations for me which I'm excited to implement into my skincare routine. One thing to note, and it is small, is that the room was VERY dark with the bright light above the bed on, and she did the consultation while I was laying on the bed, and it felt a little examiney and uncomfortable. Probably would have been better to do the consult in the chair in the corner/in a more comfortable manner. I know this is a very small note, and it didn't affect the experience, but I wanted to mention it as it would start things in a nicer way in the future. Katie also recommended I try their laser facial and I plan to do this soon! read more

I'm writing this after wearing Legendary's "Legendary Gel Overlay" all summer (4 months) (BOOK IT!). My nails are in excellent condition and have grown longer than ever before. They are normally soft and break easily, but the overlay has been great for me--ensuring strength and length. But what I want to write about is the service I've received. When I first learned about Legendary, I only went to the Greektown location, where I saw Rima who was the BOMB manicurist. Unfortunately, she left and after that, I never had anyone who was as meticulous as she was. The Greektown location is now closed, so I won't go into detail--everything was fine, front desk was super sweet (shout out to blue hair chick!) but my manis were just not amazing. I let management know that I was missing Rima REAL BAD and I was scheduled with someone at the Merchandise Mart location this May. Her name is Olia and she was AMAZING. Since then, I've also scheduled with Mariana and she is also AMAZING. I just wanted to give both of these ladies a shout out for being true TECHNICIANS. Their work is absolutely meticulous. They are attentive to every millimeter of every nail. My manicures look great and last long. My nails underneath the overlay are THRIVING. So the trek into the Mart (with its awkward walking and parking situation) is all worth it. The salon itself is very clean, well appointed, super modern, ultra high ceilings, and has a lovely view beyond its black walls. It's a whole vibe. There's also usually something entertaining on one of the large TV screens, but both TVs are muted and I love that, so the salon maintains a really serene vibe. 10 out of 10. I highly recommend and I'm real picky (about everything) so you can take my word for it. read more

Really lovely mani/pedi experience with quite the view of the Chicago river. For a no-chip manicure with nail art on four nails and a regular pedicure, I paid $125 pre-tip. The service was long, but it was also relaxing. The space is very clean and the technician was very kind and thorough. My nails look great today, four days later, and I'd definitely return on a future trip to Chicago. read more
