I wasn't impressed. We came around 9:30AM on a Sunday and we were seated right away which was a great start. But we did have to wait almost 20 minutes to be greeted by a server and that's not so fun when you have a toddler with you. I was happy to try it out because the marketing made it seem like vegetarian/vegan options were available. I was looking forward to trying a veggie tofu omelette but quickly lost excitement when I was told I could not have tofu in replace of my eggs. All they could do was ADD tofu to my eggs. Like what? I didn't think it would be that that's to scramble up some tofu, onions, mushrooms and spinach on a flat top and serve it. But apparently it just could not be done. After ordering my side of toast and bowl of fruit, hubby ordered a bacon and cheese omelette and then French toast for baby, we waited another 30 minutes for our food. There was no sense of urgency whatsoever by our server. As soon as the food was brought to us, so was the check. So after all of the waiting we had done we were now being rushed. I am a really picky eater. This is the best breakfast spot I've been to in recent memory. The quality of the food is high, they used cage free eggs, they cook with healthy ingredients (butter, not oils). I loved the fresh squeezed OJ and the almond milk latte. Went on Sunday, 11/20/2016 at 11am. About a 15 min wait, which was to be expected. I and my friend were not impressed. After reading other reviews, I wonder what I am missing, especially when Clyde's is so close and so much better! I ordered the crab cake benedict. It came with overcooked, very small poached eggs and crab cakes (wish I had taken a picture!). There was no English muffin! I've never had a "bennie" without an English muffin. The crab cake had no seasoning and was bland. I ordered the side of fruit, which was adequate. The crab cake benedict at Clyde's is so much better and for only a couple of dollars more. The tables and chairs are cheap. I am only 5'2" and felt the chairs were small for me. My legs were almost too long! Can't imagine how tall people feel sitting in them. He ordered scrambled eggs, toast and a side of ham. The eggs were way overcooked and had no "fluff" to them. We will not be back. read more

Arrived a few minutes before 10am with my daughter and were told 20-25 min wait so we added our names. After 40 minutes of waiting, I checked on our status and was told it should be just another 5 minutes. After 15 more minutes of waiting(and we were just a party of 2!), we had to leave to make it to our next event. Waited 2x as long as promised and left with nothing. No apologies, no acknowledgment of our time wasted, no effort on the staff. No one even smiled or was friendly. You could see they were having trouble cleaning tables and clearing as well. Just not managed well. Just simple common courtesy and good customer service with some acknowledgement or apology for the inconvenience would have made the difference of us trying it out again but unfortunately, we won't go back again. read more

Every time we go here the food is either cold, our order is wrong or food is missing. The only good thing is the mimosas which take 15 minutes to actually get. The worst experience was today when one of our party forgot their phone and when we went to call after 10 minutes the hostess said she was too busy to look and to call back in an hour. Our table was 5 steps from the hostess stand. After insisting to talk to a manager, who was named Patty she told us rudely that they found the phone after being on hold for 10 minutes. Pretty goo food and service. I think they are still working out the kinks. My sandwich was above average, but the potato salad had near-raw potatoes in it. Not the most appetizing when you bite into a rock-hard potato. The one thing I would avoid is the banana pudding. I know we aren't in the deep-south here but I'm pretty sure it was instant pudding mix. Had a weird after-taste. Was looking forward to trying this place, as it always seemed packed. Waited 15 minutes, which was not bad and service was ok. Food was really below par however, particularly given the price. We ordered stuffed french toast and crab cake eggs benedict. Eggs benedict didn't come with an english muffin, there were shells in every bite, and the crab cake itself was mostly filling. They need to just take it off the menu if they can't execute it as other restaurants in the area just kill it. My daughter didn't enjoy her strawberry stuffed french toast, and preferred IHOP. No fresh strawberries or anything, like you get elsewhere for much cheaper. The only saving grace was the corn bread and apple sauce they brought before the meal. What a letdown. read more

Very much enjoyed breakfast at FT today. Probably a 4.5 Star, rounded up because of fantastic food. We arrived early at 7:30am to avoid lines, which was good as it started to fill up around 8am. Very pleasant open and spacious seating plan where we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of the next table. Breakfast was pretty much perfect. The menu is extensive and I like the option to order breakfast or lunch at any time they're open. My corned beef hash with eggs was stellar and served piping hot. The side of sausage was as expected, and the side of sausage gravy was really good. My companion reported the Cali Bennie Eggs Benedict was very good and raved about the avocado. The only negative was close to a positive, if that makes sense. They proclaim that all servers are your servers, which is great for getting service. After about the fifth server in under five minutes asking how our food was though, I was about to hoist the white flag. Tip to management: Back off that part of customer service a bit, or at least teach the staff how to keep it reasonable. With this minor discrepancy excepted, we thought service was excellent, friendly, well trained, and well informed. Will definitely return to explore more of the menu! read more

I really liked the menu. The gluten free options for my son were great. Both of my boys had the gluten free French toast and I had the corn beef with hollandaise sauce. I also ordered my wife a benny sandwich to go. Found this restaurant on groupon, will def go back. Only weird thing is you don't have one server. So I had an awkward exchange with a lady who brought my bill that did not have my to go item or my groupon applied. Normally I appreciate the staff bringing my bill quickly, it was just a different person than my original waiter so she didn't know what was totally going on. Wasn't anyone's fault. Just the team effort wait staff setup could lead to situations like that. I don't think I am a big fan of the server setup. I did like the servers, they were very nice and helpful. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was really enjoyable, they also had outdoor seating and a screened patio and indoor seating. Great find for gluten-free and allergy sensitivity! our family has dietary restrictions and had wanted an equivalent silver-diner brunch type place. We read that this place was new and had a nice menu for gluten free options. Went there and the food was excellent! Gluten free pancakes were the bomb! and i can get it in my favorite flavor, coconut too! I also really liked the weekly specials that created new varieties to look forward to. The crab quiche and lobster omlette were amazing!! Food, in my opinion, is excellent. I gave it a 4 only because of the service. Our first experience, service was slow, waitress made us wait forever and then messed up our order completely. Perhaps the language barrier was an issue for this waitress. But on our second return, we had a much better experience with ankther waitress. So, we were glad we gave it a second try. read more

We were excited coz it's a new place in our neighborhood. The food was disappointing. I ordered meatloaf - here comes the server and told me to be careful with plate because it is hot but my meatloaf was not hot. Meatloaf was dry inside. My husband ordered the Portobello Mushoom Sandwich on a kaiser roll. The kaiser roll was as hard as a stone. We are sure that our food was microwaved. Even the coffee was watered down. Informed the server about it but never came back. Informed another server and eventually the manager came to us and apologized. Our family has been excited to try this place for some months now; we heard it was always busy and the wait time was long. The natural conclusion is that 'it must be worth it'. Unfortunately I say not. Today was a lovely summer's morning so a long wait would not be so bad.....I am still thinking that this has to be worth it since the place has been open for over a year now and there is still a crowd to get in. After about 35 min we were invited inside. The place is nothing special (well that's OK), and the menu has all the usual breakfast items, plus some lunch foods. I have to say, although my family enjoyed their respective dishes, they were nothing special. They were completely 'normal'. So, damned by faint praise, I suggest you head over to Silver Diner in Reston for an overall better experience with the bonus of locally sourced ingredients, and a much shorter wait time. read more

I love coming here! The food is reasonably priced, they have great gluten free options and the service is quick! We were a party of 4 and on a busy Sunday, only had to wait 10 minutes! The only downside is there are only two bathrooms for an entire restaurant (one men's, one women's). I waited longer for the restroom than my food. Stopped in for lunch. This was my second time. First time for breakfast that was mediocre. Today I had the tuna melt. Presentation was bland looking but the taste was decent. This problem is that I hit two shards of plastic in the sandwich. The first I thought was a bone. The second piece I inspected more and it was hard plastic. I gave up and told the waiter. I think the key to having a good experience at this restaurant is to get there early. We've eaten there no later than 8:30, but after each time we've left, all tables were full and there were numerous people waiting in/outside to be seated. We've eaten here twice over the past few weeks and have had nothing but good fortune when dining. Yes, there's a revolving door of waiters/waitresses that oversee your table, but it's really not a big deal. If you need a re-fill of a drink, more condiments, etc. it's extremely easy to flag someone down because there is no shortage of the waitstaff working the floor. The food is fresh, and made to order. That's appreciated. We've had the corned-beef hash, french toast, and pancakes. Everything has been fantastic. It's nice having some quality breakfast options in the area. We're fans of FT, and are looking forward to the next time we dine in. read more

I was hopeful - I really was. I was really hopeful when I say several avocado options (I love avocado). Being a Californian, I do object to anything with an avocado being called "Cali" or "Left Coast", but whatever - no big deal. I ordered the "Cali Beni" which is an eggs Benedict with avocado and tomato. The fruit was good (I didn't order their hash browns, which are really home-fries, but that's none of my business). The "Cali Beni" was not good. The egg was perfect. The hollandaise was an exact dupe for the hollandaise in a packet you can buy at the store. (And yes, I know the difference, I make hollandaise from scratch when I have time, and the packet when I don't). The english muffin was Thomas' brand. The tomato was 1/2 " thick, pink and mealy. The avocado was as thin as a credit card. No flavor. No substance. I would expect the avocado to be at least as thick as the tomato. I had to cover everything in hot sauce and pepper to get any flavor besides water. Not sure about the "everyone is your server" thing - but, I guess if that is how you work, fine, not my business. I felt uncomfortable waiting for some random person to put my order in on an ipad. 2 stars - soda was good. Table was clean. Servers were pleasant. I went there this morning after reading the reviews and decided to check it out for myself. Service was fast and courteous. I was checked a couple of times but not enough to irritate me. The food was plentiful, definitely enough to fill me up. I had an omelet, toast, home fries and coffee. The food reached my table hot and was better tasting than some of the other sit down breakfast eateries that I've been to in the Ashburn area. My husband took a bad fall a few months ago and after surgery and months of rehab he is home. We have not been able to get him out to a restaurant because he uses a walker and has a lot of difficulty walking. Since it was such a beautiful day we decided to give it a try visit the Famous Toastery. From the moment I stopped in front to help him into the restaurant, the staff took right over so that I could park. They couldn't have been more kind and helpful. The food was amazing! I think my husband and I could eat the corned beef hash, eggs, biscuits and gravy everyday. The fact that you can have lunch or breakfast all day makes it easy for picky eaters. Now I know why so many of my friends and family have been talking about how fabulous the food is. Thank you Famous Toastery for the awesome food and for making us feel so welcome. read more
