Update: Still one of my favorite restaurants on Maui. The food is consistently great! Lots of island influences on the menu but also plenty of great Italian staples. Since my last review, more gluten free and vegan options are available. I mean, I don't want to rave too much, because I don't want it to be too crowded foe us locals to enjoy. But. They truly deserve the attention. --- I just want to update because Fabiani's has worked its way to the very top of my favorite restaurant list. I can't count how often I've been here...at least once a month if not more...and Fabiani's Kihei is consistently a great experience in all ways: food, service, reasonable prices and comfortable ambiance. Another mark of a good restaurant is also clear here: the same employees. Considering the high turnover in the service industry, for a company to hold onto its employees, you know they have their act together. Happy employees, imho, means a well run business which in turn means the customer will be well cared for. So I, once again, recommend Fabiani's not only for Italian food but for just a good eating experience. I do so reluctantly only because I'd hate for my favorite Kihei restaurant to become too busy for me to frequent. But, they deserve it! read more

I had to write another review because I just had some of the cutest most amazing Halloween desserts! Picked up the peanut butter crunch bar & the caramel apple cupcake. Not gonna lie,I was very hesitant picking the cupcake because I'm not a fan of frosting & I was thinking it was gonna be really sweet. Happy to say I was wrong. The actually cupcake was like a white cake & the frosting was tart green apple with caramel in the center. It was such a nice surprise! & I'm not sure what the feet on the witch was, it was type of chewy crunch chocolate type thing. So so yummy. The peanut butter crunch bar, I was expecting a peanut butter brownie type thing with Crispy rice pieces in it. It ended up being like a rice Krispy type thing with dark chocolate on the top. Another very nice surprise. My mom isn't really a peanut butter fan but she loved it. We chose some really good ones. So glad we saved room for dessert this time! read more

Tried this place last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was crowded but not overly as Covid precautions are still in place. I shared a Caesar salad with my friend which was dressed just right with crunchy toast as opposed to croutons. I ordered the eggplant Napoleon which comes with a side of shrimp scampi on angel hair. It was quite a large portion but no worries because I'll enjoy it for dinner tonight. Both were very good. My friend ordered pizza which looked delish! One of our favorite Maui restaurants. Even though it's 30 miles from where we live in Lahaina, we make a special trip to come down here. There are actually two of these restaurants but the original one off of Lipoa Street is our favorite. There is another one on the outskirts of the Wailea resort. We always get their pizza which is thin crust. I kind of build my own which is a start with a margarita pizza and add anchovies and their Italian sausage. It's a 12 inch pizza and we usually have a Caesar salad with it. I would suggest adding extra anchovies if that's what you like, like I do. Super place to bring your kids they have a little yard where they have toys and you can look right out the window and watch him play. Always fun. Anybody asking about cocktails da best. Specialty cocktails great draft beers including Guinness on tap. Rare. And of course a great selection of top shelf liquors. Coffee? Best espresso machine. Desserts? Why do you think they call it a bakery as well as the pizzeria. We are always too full to have dessert here so we take it home. This time I took home the Okinawan sweet potato cheesecake. Do I need to say more? Killer. Also took home one of their lemon tarts. Staff is great it's off the beaten path so it's not a lot of tourists but always crowded for sure. Love this place. read more

I ate here recently with a group of 6 for dinner. We ordered quite a few things and shared most of them. I really loved the stuffed scallop appetizer, and other standouts from our meal were the pasta alfredo with shrimp and I also really liked the caesar salad. The entree portions were quite large and the prices were extremely reasonable. This is a great, straight-forward Italian restaurant away from the hustle and bustle, with indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly attentive service. I will definitely return. read more

Our family of six just had dinner here and everyone from the one year old to 13 year old enjoyed their meals. The staff was really friendly and attentive. Steven and Mike made sure everything was perfect. We had a variety of food; pizza, pasta, salad, and even desserts. The kids enjoyed the pepperoni pizza and marinara pasta. My older son had the lasagna and said it was delicious. The salad was also very good, the lilikoi dressing can't be beat! Dessert is a must even if it's to go. We had some canolis and a cheesecake. We will definitely be visiting again and recommend this place !!! Was in the mood for Italian and decided to give this place a try. So glad I did. We decided to try their Lorenzo Pizza which is topped with Arugula and Prosciutto which was delicious and the pizza crust is thin and crispy, just the way I like it. Also impressed with their gnocchi and chicken. For dessert, tried the Queen Emma cake. It's a three layered cake with guava, lilikoi, and coconut topped with toasted coconut flakes. Pizzas were discounted at a happy hour rate which were $7.50 a pie, such a great deal. Definitely coming back again. read more

DAMN y'all. This place is heaven. The X pizza might be the best pizza I've ever had. It was a balanced combination of toppings perfected with truffle oil. The Caesar salad was fresh and the artichoke dip was hot, creamy, and paired perfectly with the fresh bread options provided for dipping. You know my insatiable self had to have dessert. I heard great reviews about this place so I finally gave it a try. Overall my experience here wasnt the greatest. I wouldn't recommend this place for the pizza but I would for the d Once I walked in I wasnt greeted by anyone and I stood there for 10 minutes. The host saw me but she was talking stories with her friends who dined in that night. I was seated by another lady who I believe was a server because she saw that Ive been waiting for a while. During those 10 minutes of waiting I noticed that the staff did not look happy at all. We ordered bruschetta, The Mauian pizza, vegetable lasagna, and tiramisu. My favorite was the lasagna especially because it had eggplant in it. The Mauian pizza was the worst pizza I ever had. It was drenched in sauce and it was like soup, literally. If you pick up a slice, EVERYTHING will fall off and you'll end up just holding a soggy slice of bread. To top it off the flavor wasn't that great either. I was excited to try this restaurant's pizza because that is what people hype this place about. Although my Linguine Alle Vongole with GF fettuccine tasted wonderful, I CAN NOT recommend this place to anyone who has Celiac like myself or even a wheat intolerance. When I got 3/4 of the way through my meal, I noticed a regular fettuccine noodle sticking out. On closer inspection, I noticed several more as well as tiny pieces as if they used either the same strainer or the same pot for both noodles. When my husband and I are on Maui, we tend to be very seafood focused, but my husband LOVES pizza and it is nice to be able to get a take-out pie for dinner one evening. Friends recommended that we try Fabiani's. So good!! Fabianai's pizza is thin crust and comes in one size. We ordered the margarita pizza with pepperoni added. It was delicious. The crust was flavorful and the toppings were all flavorful. They even offer fresh grated parmesan as an addition (not canned sawdust posing as cheese). Because the pizza is thin crust, it is satisfying without being overly filling. In my book, it was perfect. We will be back...possibly during the same trip! read more

BREAKFAST Fabiani's is kind of tucked away and hidden in KIhei, but it is worth checking out. While Fabiani's has two locations on Maui, only the Kihei one on Lipoa serves breakfast. I am a fan of Bloody Marys, and they serve a decent one for $9. I love eggs benedicts and they have a unique one here; the Italian Benedict ($13). I definitely suggest trying it. The Italian Sausage is incredible and fun to have in this dish. My buddy tried the Upcountry Veggie Omelet ($11) and he was happy with it. I returned a few weeks later to try their Italian Loco Moco ($14). It was good but I prefer the Italian Benedict instead. The service was great. No Kama'aina discount available. Breakfast hours are 7 - 11 Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday they are 7 - 1130. If you are looking for a breakfast spot that is mellow, and has some fairly unique twists on regular breakfast dishes, then I suggest stopping in. I live just a few blocks away but yet somehow, I've never been to Fabiani's until today. I'm not sure why because I'm gluten intolerant and they have numerous GF options. My friend and I both ordered the Lorenzo pizza (mine on the GF cauliflower crust) and thought it was delicious! The combination of flavors was wonderful and the crust was so good and you would never know it was GF. I also had the caprese salad which was fresh and lovely. So happy to try this neighborhood place and I can't wait to try some of the other GF menu choices like pastas, Rissotto and even the chocolate cake! read more

Heads up: there is no bathroom at the restaurant, so you'll need to walk down outside the building to a public restroom. I ate a quick dinner here before seeing a movie at the Kihei theatre. This restaurant was easy to find with a lot of parking available. Feeling good about this place already! Our party of three was seated immediately at about 5:45 pm on a Wednesday. Friendly hostess and server. I ordered the scampi pasta special and shared the house salad w/ one of my dining companions. My pasta was flavorful and delicious. The sauce/ broth was not too heavy and was the kind you want to dip your bread in and soak up every last drop. My portion was large enough that I asked to take some home in a take-away container. The piece de resistance was the Lilikoi Roulade for dessert! I live upcountry, more than 40 minutes from this restaurant, and I'd gladly drive down any day of the week if someone said they'd buy me this for dessert. Lol. It's a sponge cake roll wrapped around a lilikoi creme filling and topped with toasted meringue. On the side is some fresh whipped cream. If I could have licked the plate surreptitiously I probably would have. Luckily, my better dining manners prevailed. I was treated to dinner so I'm not sure what the price tag was. From perusing the menu I could see that prices were reasonable, at least for me. I've lived on the island for over 30 years so my perspective on "reasonable" may be skewed. We were in the area and felt like Italian for a change. Trusty Yelp delivered again, and led us to a plaza where Fabiani's is situated, so parking was not a challenge. The interior is very spacious simply decorated with photos of Italian exotic and classic cars hanging over the generous bar. The place is very well taken care of, it shows that the owners care. It's a new place and has a pleasant ambiance. The menu offers Italian classics, salads and pizzas. We had the Fabiani pizza with added garlic. We started with a House Salad, a perfect portion for two; made with kula mixed greens, carrots, sliced cucumber, house lilikoi and vanilla bean vinaigrette, garnished with candied macadamia nuts. The pizza was thin, crispy and the dough was tasty as hell. The salami topping was lean and of high quality, as well as the mushrooms and Brie cheese. Very tasty combination with a healthy and light taste. For dessert I perused their dessert display and picked a beautiful Coconut Chocolate Macaroon, which was fantastic. The interior was soft but not oily and the dry chocolate was devine. Even though it was a simple dessert, they still served it on a plate and dressed it with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The service was pure family comfort, very pleasant and relaxed. The staff was very attentive and they made me feel special as a customer. I know that these are trying times for restaurants what with all the Covid-related issues. However, I was deeply disappointed in Fabiani's on Friday night. We stood in line for awhile, only to be told that it was counter service, and we needed to go back and get a menu, then get back in line(now 5 people longer) to place our order. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo and my date ordered angel hair marinara with sausage. We asked for their wine list. They had three wines by the glass, a pinot gris, sauv blanc and pinot noir. Chianti was only sold by the bottle! So we bought a bottle of Super Tuscan! We were then given a number and went to sit down . It was one hour before our pasta arrived! Definitely nothing jumping. Huge inside and the outside area for kids to play with their provided toy trucks are huge as well! We had the Fabiani's 12 inch pizza with additional garlic and requested extra crunchy. Salami , mushroom and Brie cheese. Simple ingredients you would think. It was one of my best pizza to date. It's not even cooked on a brick oven or wood fired or whatever else fancy. It's just really awesome crust and sauce. The crust was crunchy and yet you can still fold the pizza for face stuffing:) The cannoli at $6 each is worth it. Get this! Authentic and the servers are super gracious. You are welcome once more! Fabiani's is my usual Sunday ritual when I am in Kihei. I am a big fan of their bakery items, which is what I usually stop by to get most of the time. It's a great option if you have a group of people with you and also little children. The prices are affordable & the food tastes great! There's also a play area for the kids outside and toys are available for them to ride/play with. My favorites: - Genovese & Maui Meaty pizzas - Lilikoi Roulade - Raspberry, Lemon, Vanilla Cake - Salted Caramel Macarons I knocked off a star because one time I asked how long it would take for a pizza to-go & was told 15 minutes. I ordered one & waited for 30-40 minutes. It was not busy in the restaurant either. I've also seen very large flies in the dessert case (they landed on many items) & I alerted the worker to it. He tried, goodness he tried to get them out, but I'm not sure if he gave up after I left. I also noticed the last time I went that the macarons got much smaller.
