We ate here on a Tuesday night and the place was very quiet but friendly and welcoming. We don't have a broad experience with their menu but I can honestly say their bolognese was truly outstanding! We ordered it GF which came as Barilla (or similar rice/corn) penne. It wasn't great but adequate and we were grateful that they had the option. The garden salad was fresh and sizable but the tropical-style vinaigrette didn't quite match with the red-sauce pasta and a more traditional, savory, Italian dressing would have been better. The baked goods in the front glass case looked delicious and high-quality. They even had cannoli which was very hard to pass up. We'll definitely plan a return visit the next time we're in town. read more

Found this nice restaurant in Kihei. We went on a Sunday and had a brunch menu. They were friendly and nice. They have an indoor as well as outdoor seating area. The food tasted good but portions were small for the price. The yogurt and granola was very plain as well as the waffle special. We may come back to try dinner but breakfast was a little expensive. Late March 2025 we were in the mood for Italian flavors. After a decade of visiting Kihei, we looked up Fabiani's and had a nice meal and a great time in this neighborhood spot. We customized a Cheese Pizza with Artichoke, Chicken, Extra Cheese, Onions, and Sun Dried Tomato, *phew*! I ordered their House Margherita Pizza made with red sauce, although I prefer white sauce on this pie. I also ordered one meatball on the side to try it out; it was flavorful and I'll have Spaghetti and Meatballs on a future visit. An iced tea and a water were our drinks; we're not drinking much alcohol, lately. The pizzas were good. Fabiani's thin crust pizzas have enough body and crispness to hold the toppings of our custom pizza. The Margherita was lightly dressed and good on the thin crust. The iced tea was fun for us to figure out; she immediately said Hibiscus Tea with something else in it. I took a sip and said, Raspberry. The staffer who offered us a sprinkling of Parmesan on our pizzas said we were both right: their iced tea is a Hibiscus-Raspberry blend! We enjoyed the restaurant. It appeared to be a favorite with bar patrons drinking and visiting. Most of the table patrons appeared to be neighborhood folks. It wasn't crowded on a week night. It's plain to see that the Canadians are avoiding Hawaii because of the turn in National politics, and it was after Semester Break. read more

What happened to this place? Food and service has fallen. And desserts hit serious shrinkflation.. make them smaller or raise the price, don't do both! Owner was running the resister tonight and not sure he's best suited for that job. Place was empty. Food came out wrong. Our table never got bread. Water never refilled. When we arrived for lunch they had a three piece group playing. They were good, but way too loud for such a small place, so we opted for eating outside which was lovely. We shared a 12-inch pizza adding our favorites to our sides. I had artichokes and mushrooms on my side; hubby had pepperoni, mushrooms, onions. We had arugula over the whole pizza. I love thin crust especially when it's crispy which this one was except on part of the bottom. It was tasty but there were very few mushrooms on either side, and very little sauce. The pepperoni was tasty and not at all greasy. There were adequate artichokes, onions and arugula. The outside area was clean and comfortable. The staff was attentive, and helpful. It's located off the main streets, but parking at the door. Also, the Friends of Maui Library Bookstore is just a few steps away, a plus! The pizza was good except for part of the bottom being soggy. Updating past review. Unfortunately, the vegan bolognese is not the same at all. I'm so devastated as it used to be the most amazing dish! It's now penne pasta (not homemade pappardelle) and the sauce is so thin -couldn't find any of the "meat" or "parm" topping. They added mushrooms on it at least but it was like something I could make at home. The pizza was a confusion - I ordered online to try to make it easy so I didn't know they added a 14" pizza. Well it's a completely different crust than their delicious 12" crust type. The 12" Is the kind I like. Also my bad, I realized on Apple Pay I just pressed buy with 1 button and it didn't add a tip in!? So I feel really bad about that as it's not the workers fault the food isn't as good. I wish I could leave a $100 tip to get the yummy version vegan bolognese back!!! read more

I think they need to consider increasing the amount of wait staff they have. I was here on a Sunday night and they were absolutely slammed. As far as I could see from the bar, there was a bartender, a single cashier taking all non-bar orders, and a single food runner in the front of the house. Nearly every table was full. Maybe someone called in sick or maybe I got something wrong. All I know is lines were out the door and people (including myself) were waiting a long time for food, drinks and bills. They began the model they have (no visible waiters, just order at the cashier and food runners bring you food and drink) during the pandemic...presumably as a way to trim down on staffing. I'm not sure it's the best model for them anymore. It works okay for some establishments (Paia Fishmarket) in Kihei...but the common denominator is lines out the door and while waiting in line you can't enjoy yourself. There is a bottleneck at the single cashier. They might want to consider either adding more true waiters or possibly doing something on tablets at each table if they are intent on not hiring additional wait staff. Cool Cat which recently opened seems to have done well for themselves with a nice blend of waiters and runners...which used to be the case at Fabiani's before the pandemic. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fabiani's twice on Mother's Day, once for breakfast and again for dinner. Each visit was nothing short of delightful! Breakfast: The breakfast menu is a true treat! We indulged in over 8 breakfast items which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and we appreciated the generous portions. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a perfect start to Mother's Day. The co-owner iMichelle Fabiani and Mike were actually in the kitchen that morning cooking and baking making sure everything turned out perfect. The staff is always very pleasant and polite accommodating to all the customers needs. Dinner: For dinner, we ordered about eight entrées to split with each other], and it overly satisfied our Italian craving since we just finished washing the movie Nonna's after breakfast, which is about Italian grandmother's cooking. The flavors were well-balanced, and it was evident that they take pride in their culinary creations. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. Pastries: No visit to Fabiani's would be complete without trying their pastries! We sampled almost one of everything between both of our visits and it was heavenly. The perfect combination of flaky and rich, it was the ideal sweet ending to my meals. The red velvet cake is to die for, and in my opinion, one of the best desserts in the world Overall, my experiences at Fabiani's were fantastic. Also, when I tried to send them an email I get an error message stating that their email address doesn't exist. Pizza was a 10/10! We ordered the 16inch which is the thicker crust and it was sooooo good! Hubby and I customized our toppings and we both enjoyed every bite. This is the better spot for Italian in Kihei. But here, you order and pay at the counter. You get a number stand up and find a table. They find your number and deliver. They do come back for shredded cheese and wine for the table. They do Cater. There is a Christmas party where we want to serve a Lasagna coming up. So I had it tonight for a taste test. Beef Lasagna, delicious. We got a ball park price to serve 20. We ll see. If we do it, it will be a winner. read more

Thanks to Yelp reviewers, we learned about the daily 12" pizza deal (3pm to 5pm I think), if you order & sit at the bar. We ordered the Sunday special (white pizza with sausage, onion, zucchini, garlic and ranch drizzle) and a calzone. Both were delicious. The crust was done perfectly, not soggy or overcooked, and the calzone top was thin and crunchy, perfect for scooping the spilling innards. We also had the peanut butter pie and the lillikoi mousse cake. Both were fresh and high quality, beautiful little desserts. The service was friendly and prompt, both at the front counter (where you order for the sit-down restaurant area, for to go, or to just pick up desserts) and at the bar. We have enjoyed Fabianis for 2 years since we moved to Kihei. Tonight was an anomaly in the usually excellent customer service. A new cashier, Mike, reacted negatively to an onslaught of diners. I ordered a takeout pizza at 5:23 pm and told it would be a 25 minute wait time. 45 minutes later I asked if my pizza was ready. He told me to sit down and he would let me know. When I pointed out that it had been 45 minutes, he yelled "back off" and told me to sit and wait. The restaurant was filled to capacity and he is new. We split a large "THE GREEN ONE" salad and an order of "FABIANI'S ORIGINAL MEAT LASAGNA" which came with several pieces of focaccia bread. When I arrived to pick up our meal, I couldn't resist picking up a chocolate-dipped coconut macaroon for dessert. The salad met my expectations. I love this cranberry-walnut salad with spinach and feta. It's almost always good and this was no exception. The lasagna however, far exceeded my expectations. Everything about it was great, but it was the sauce that excited my taste buds at the first bite. It was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Their special of the has never been spectacular for example linguine with chicken Parmesan was dry and marinara sauce was very tart and lacking! We have enjoyed numerous dining experiences at Fabiani's and have always had a 5-star experience, from excellent food quality to the friendly staff. However, Wednesday (2/26/2025) was different. Something has changed, and not for the better. Although the restaurant was not super busy and the staff remained friendly and attentive, there was an element of dysfunction in the air. It took longer than usual for our meal to be served, despite it not being a complicated order. The Margherita Pizza, which I always enjoy, was doughy in the middle and overcooked on the crust. Whatever has gone astray, I hope they get if fixed soon. The Kihei location is convenient and has adequate parking and the overall ambiance is clean and neat. Hopefully our Wednesday dining experience was a one-off and they will be back to their 5-Star ways in no time, but it was enough of a departure to be noted. read more

Fabiani's Desserts on Maui has truly captured the essence of indulgence. The Tiramisu cheesecake had creamy texture and perfect balance of mascarpone and Oreo coffee flavors. The Red Velvet cheesecake was my favorite and is little slice of heaven, with its moist layers, cream cheese frosting, and chocolate coating. The Cannoli was hands down my favorite cannoli I've ever tasted, with its pastry shell and ricotta filling. And let's not forget the Lemon Mousse Cake, a light and airy dessert with citrusy flavors. Fabiani's desserts are truly comforting and it's so enjoyable for takeout.
