Customized Cheese Pizza with Artichoke, Chicken, Extra Cheese, Onions, and Sun Dried Tomato.
Keith T.

Late March 2025 we were in the mood for Italian flavors. After a decade of visiting Kihei, we looked up Fabiani's and had a nice meal and a great time in this neighborhood spot. We customized a Cheese Pizza with Artichoke, Chicken, Extra Cheese, Onions, and Sun Dried Tomato, *phew*! I ordered their House Margherita Pizza made with red sauce, although I prefer white sauce on this pie. I also ordered one meatball on the side to try it out; it was flavorful and I'll have Spaghetti and Meatballs on a future visit. An iced tea and a water were our drinks; we're not drinking much alcohol, lately. The pizzas were good. Fabiani's thin crust pizzas have enough body and crispness to hold the toppings of our custom pizza. The Margherita was lightly dressed and good on the thin crust. The iced tea was fun for us to figure out; she immediately said Hibiscus Tea with something else in it. I took a sip and said, Raspberry. The staffer who offered us a sprinkling of Parmesan on our pizzas said we were both right: their iced tea is a Hibiscus-Raspberry blend! We enjoyed the restaurant. It appeared to be a favorite with bar patrons drinking and visiting. Most of the table patrons appeared to be neighborhood folks. It wasn't crowded on a week night. It's plain to see that the Canadians are avoiding Hawaii because of the turn in National politics, and it was after Semester Break.

What happened to this place? Food and service has fallen. And desserts hit serious shrinkflation.. make them smaller or raise the price, don't do both! Owner was running the resister tonight and not sure he's best suited for that job. Place was empty. Food came out wrong. Our table never got bread. Water never refilled. Guess that's why you add the tip when you order because no one would tip otherwise. That said the food was okay. Will just get it to go next time.

I'm updating the review to 5 stars because I originally docked them a star because they cost more than I expected (these were higher than DC prices). But the menu showed the correct price and the taste/quality met/exceeded the expectation even at that price. 5 stars because I would definitely visit (and pay extra) again

Service was okay, you have to order everything at the counter before you sit down. Maybe that's why I didn't get anything other than my entree. When they come to give you cheese on top, they use an electric cheese grader and it's so awkward Food was good and very very delicious but portions are way too small for the price...

This is what I got. VERY TASTY. even if you're not vegan or gluten free.

Updating past review. Unfortunately, the vegan bolognese is not the same at all. I'm so devastated as it used to be the most amazing dish! It's now penne pasta (not homemade pappardelle) and the sauce is so thin -couldn't find any of the "meat" or "parm" topping. They added mushrooms on it at least but it was like something I could make at home. The pizza was a confusion - I ordered online to try to make it easy so I didn't know they added a 14" pizza. Well it's a completely different crust than their delicious 12" crust type. The 12" Is the kind I like. Also my bad, I realized on Apple Pay I just pressed buy with 1 button and it didn't add a tip in!? So I feel really bad about that as it's not the workers fault the food isn't as good. I wish I could leave a $100 tip to get the yummy version vegan bolognese back!!!

Special mom's dessert for Mother's Day made by the fabulous Michelle Fabiani

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fabiani's twice on Mother's Day, once for breakfast and again for dinner. Each visit was nothing short of delightful! Breakfast: The breakfast menu is a true treat! We indulged in over 8 breakfast items which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and we appreciated the generous portions. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a perfect start to Mother's Day. The co-owner iMichelle Fabiani and Mike were actually in the kitchen that morning cooking and baking making sure everything turned out perfect. The staff is always very pleasant and polite accommodating to all the customers needs. Dinner: For dinner, we ordered about eight entrées to split with each other], and it overly satisfied our Italian craving since we just finished washing the movie Nonna's after breakfast, which is about Italian grandmother's cooking. The flavors were well-balanced, and it was evident that they take pride in their culinary creations. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. Pastries: No visit to Fabiani's would be complete without trying their pastries! We sampled almost one of everything between both of our visits and it was heavenly. The perfect combination of flaky and rich, it was the ideal sweet ending to my meals. The red velvet cake is to die for, and in my opinion, one of the best desserts in the world Overall, my experiences at Fabiani's were fantastic. I highly recommend visiting this gem in Maui for anyone looking for delicious food and delightful pastries. I can't wait to return! I have frequented this restaurant dozens of times since they've opened and we also really enjoy the happy hour that they have with half off their amazing pizzas ---

This is the better spot for Italian in Kihei. But here, you order and pay at the counter. You get a number stand up and find a table. They find your number and deliver. They do come back for shredded cheese and wine for the table. They do Cater. There is a Christmas party where we want to serve a Lasagna coming up. So I had it tonight for a taste test. Beef Lasagna, delicious. We got a ball park price to serve 20. We ll see. If we do it, it will be a winner.

Lasagna 4 stars

Really good Italian! Unexpected for Hawaii. Order and sit kind of place Got the following: Spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette: 4 stars, good candied pecans and the vinaigrette was one of the better ones I've had Lasagna: 4 stars, really good tomato sauce and big portion. Hearty and exactly what you want in a lasagna Meaty pizza: 3 stars, the crust was good, but I felt the topping was too salty. Would be back to try more!

It helps to order ahead but you will need to order the day before - they don't do same day orders. Also some things you can't order online like their musubis, etc. However you can still get their malasadas and croissants, etc. We tried all their malasadas and our favs were the coconut cream and the lilikoi (passion fruit). We also tried their mango bread which was moist and fruity (no chunks of mango in it though) and the lime pie which was lovely! However, I think the big surprise for me was that the malasadas are smaller than I expected. The first time I had a malasada was at Leonard's in Oahu which are like...the size of your hand. These are more like golf ball sized. They were still excellent but I think that just caught me off guard. But we still enjoyed them!

I'm actually a huge fan of their lilikoi key lime pie - that is fantastic! It's the right amount of sweetness mixed with the tartness of the lime and the creaminess hits the spot. Really would be great for a nice post beach treat (or if you can put it in a cooler, a nice beach treat!). Lots of great pastries are available too - scones and other types of pastries as well!

I really like that I can select from the old world German Artisan collection and the Hawaiian Artisan baked goods. I snagged the Isabelle, a loaf of bread made of spelt (dinkel wheat, high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants) and rolled in an assortment of seeds. The texture is soft and the crust is slightly chewy. Just right and the taste is very satisfying. I can't bring myself to putting a slice into the toaster, though, because I don't want to risk losing any of the seeds. I'll be fine with the broiler and some butter. I also went for the Hawaiian Bread. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. It has pineapple, toasted coconut and tiny soft raisins. The bread is moist from the pineapple juice and the loaves are small. I could finish one off in a setting but I resisted the urge. I also bought extras for sharing and had to pass them out quickly before temptation called. I'll return soon.

I did enjoy overall. The cinnamon roll was not hot from the oven, so I avoided disappointment. Next time I got the almond croissant. Pretty tasty. Basically they cut the croissant in half, filled in the cream and put the top back. Odd. Better between the two. Might be too sweet for some. Prices are higher than other places. I don't think you'll find anything subpar. Seems like good offerings.

But nah, good timing. People were finishing up, bussing tables, and bam, maybe 20-30 minutes tops. Not bad at all. While we was waiting, they come out with waffle samples for everyone in line. I mean... who does that? That's how you keep people from getting all hangry. Instant good vibes, the whole line outside was just smiling and waiting patiently. Finally get seated and both the hostess and waitress were super nice--real friendly, no rush, no attitude. In the front they had mushroom soup on the specials board, so we figured we go sample um. I had them bring a cup of soup out to start along with my wife's coffee. Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of. We will be heading to Cafe Kaila again to try some other stuff like the "chicken and waffles", and next time, I'm not playing around with the soup. Bowl, Garans.
