Ordering & receiving our food was incredibly fast! My husband enjoyed the avocado toast with added bacon, and I devoured my huevos rancheros. The serving size of each was just right and tasted delicious. I also loved my Carmelita, it had a good mix of caramel and cinnamon flavor. I ordered the croque madame sub egg whites and breakfast burger. The croque madame came out cold, but had good flavor to it. Also, the side salad it came with was just lettuce with almost no dressing on it. The breakfast burger was just ok. The beef patty had no seasoning and tasted like a frozen burger. Fàme Caffe was one of our first stops when we arrived for our visit! My brother highly recommended this place for brunch and I am so glad he did. The ordering process is simple, you walk up to order outside, and then you are seated inside or outside depending on availability/preference. This used to be my absolute favorite place but it isn't quite what it used to be and prices are really high for breakfast. I usually order the omelet, the veggie scramble, or pancake (I get banana), which are all good choices but occasionally have a miss. The side potatoes that come with some dishes used to be amazing but I've had a couple times, including my most recent, where they were too dry and cut too big. Even the homemade hot sauce couldn't save those. Also one banana pancake I got had a section that was just totally raw flour! I am SO glad I looked more at that bite before going to eat it. I pointed it out to the server, and she didn't really seem to care. Recently ordered something with avocado on the side - it was overripe with obvious brown spots. For eggs cooked to order, fried are ok (although it's clear the pan is a little too hot) but scrambled are really bad. Their drip coffee is one of my favorite around and thankfully good enough to drink black, because they charge A WHOLE DOLLAR to add a splash of almond milk. Now that they moved the line to order outside and it usually only has one cashier, it's pretty awful in the Phoenix summers. They only have the misters on sometimes. And then when it's finally your turn to order, they sometimes don't have a table available. For breakfast, I got the huevos rancheros and my friends got the breakfast wrap + french toast + avo toast. I requested a soft alternative to my tortilla chips due to sensitive teeth, and they were able to work around it! I was a little taken aback by the fact that we had to order at the front and then get seated instead of ordering after being seated, but that was fine. We went around 9am on a Sunday when there wasn't much of a crowd, and the service was pretty good. Water is self-served and we enjoyed our meal. I wish there was a little more lighting in there since I thought it was kind of dark, but that's my personal taste. The coffee was pretty good too, my friends and I ordered the horchata and honey lavender, but I think we liked the honey lavender a little more. I also loved the french toast! I'm really into that drink right now and it's the best sweet one around. I really liked the style of service at this restaurant. You order at the window and they assign you to a table. You're then brought your food and drinks. It makes the turn over a lot faster and you aren't stuck waiting for your check once you've finished your meal. Wow. I can't believe I've never written a review for this place. Maybe because it's in my 'hood and because I go so often now that it almost seems unfair. Funny thing is... I drove past this restaurant for years thinking Famé was a lamp shop. I have tried a few things on their menu, but have settled on the Fame omelette with greens as my favorite meal. The omelette is the perfect balance of fluff and cheese. I enjoy substituting the potatoes and bread for salad greens with a lite slick of their house dressing. The fresh brewed coffee is delectable. The restaurant is located on the west side of Central Ave just south of Camelback.... A very popular area of Phoenix chock full of loacl places to eat. I love this restaurant because it has a cottage feel to it... Open and exposed brick walls, huge windows allowing the flow of Eastern sunlight. A huge community table is positioned as the center piece of the dining room. That table always has folks sitting together and chatting it up. Lastly, the staff is amazing. Made a weekend trip up to Phoenix to visit a family friend's birthday and decided to check out what was around our area after waking up from sleeping in till 11. The great part is that this place is open until 3pm and serves both breakfast and lunch. For downtown Phoenix, they have their own parking lot shared within a small shopping plaza BUT I wanna let you all know it's survival of the fittest to find a spot anywhere in this plaza. The light rail is accessible to this place so maybe consider using this alternate transportation to help with getting here. There was a line which we worried about but it ended up being an order counter and then choosing a seat sort of situation so we actually only waited 20 minutes for a late Saturday brunch time. Looking at their menu prior showed they had some gem pieces that made them stand out in our initial hunt. We ordered, got seated inside and honestly waited 5 minutes for the food to arrive! We were SHOCKED! My man has had previous experience flipping houses and he was impressed with their interior design. Fame has been my go to breakfast spot on days I work in the office. Overall the food is good but may require just a little more seasoning. Still good. I've had their breakfast burrito, breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros and chilaquiles and I have to say so far I found my favorite, the chicken chilaquiles. I don't understand why people rate this place so highly. My wife and I came today and the food was so bad I couldn't even eat more than 1/4th of it. Here's why: The "Special" Pork Belly Wrap they had on the menu had the fattiest pork belly I've ever had that was unchewable and made the entire wrap inedible. The Caramel Latte was not sweet at all and made with a terribly bitter type of espresso. The breakfast potatoes were as dry as could possibly be and quite possibly the worst I ever had. Consistently amazing. I always get their Monte Cristo, which is the best in the Phoenix Metro. Their lattes are actually good and not too sweet, unlike many other restaurants that put less effort into their drinks. While the restaurant is loud due to the lack of sound paneling on the ceiling, it is not too unique as most restaurants don't do a good job with acoustics. If they added panels to address that, it would probably be the best breakfast spot. read more

Yay for good coffee and baked goods! This restaurant is located along N Central Avenue in the Uptown area, and there is a small private lot for parking. The exterior has a separate window for pickup orders, which is quite convenient if you order to-go. Service was great; the cashier was friendly and got my order out really quickly. I ordered the drink muddy waters (basically matcha mixed with an espresso shot) with half sugar and a double chocolate cookie, both of which I enjoyed. The drink wasn't too sweet, and the matcha and espresso were smooth and well-blended together. The cookie was more on the crumbly side, and although I personally like my cookies a little chewier, I still liked how it was chocolate-y and had balanced flavor/texture! We ordered Vegan Horchata Latte and Egg Nog Mocha. Both were good and would order again. For entrees, we ordered French toast and Eggs Benedict. French toast was artisan bread with syrup and strawberries. We added bananas which was definitely better. It was good but not anything I can't make at home. The Egg Benedict was less impressive. It sounded great on the menu, but less flavorful on the palate. I would like to try the Wrap as it looked pretty good. If we are in the area, we try again but sad for the first impression. Setup is you order first and they will tell you where to sit. Pay attention when they tell you a number as the numbers are on the table. Nothing too special about the omelet.
