IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD.
I am NOT the type of person to leave a review unless my experience was extreme in one way or the other. Sadly, this was anything but wonderful. This may be long, but worth reading..
I got my frames and lenses in palm spring (an hour away) and everything was flawless! (I am going somewhere with this..) once I got them in the mail I realized I wanted a heavier anti-glare coating.. deciding I didn't want to drive back an hour away, I researched my area, and I found Eye C You. Good reviews, super close to my home... sounded great, right? so wrong!
They charged me... a lot I thought but, fine, okay, what do I know...
They said it would be a week, max... well, 8 days later I walked in to check on them only to find out they have been there waiting for me.. honest mistake. fine... alright.
I saw my vision was SO blurry and hurting my eyes, they tell me it's me adjusting.. would have been nice to have a warning but again... fine. alright.
I take them home only to have my husband ask me why they are crooked on my face, not thinking much of it, I go about my life. I adjusted after about 2 days. I go over to my parents house only to be asked again, why are they crooked? Realizing maybe they were right, I decide to go back in and have them adjusted. I didn't know that this would be consuming my life for the next week.
I bring them in, happily, they attempted to adjust them. I had work and a life to get back to and didn't have much time to sit there. Now, during my visit my glasses were tapped on the desk in the lobby, heated up, cooled down, heated back up, handed to someone else, tried on 100 times, etc. The Dr. comes out (on the phone) and starts talking about Disney movies, totally unaware of my situation asks if I need my prescription checked to which I Responded (No, My frames are just being adjusted. I think my vision is alright, Thank you." he goes back to his call, and the employee's ask me to another desk. Like I said, After 100 try on's and almost 40 minutes of back and forth, I decided they were okay enough to go home and get ready for work. I would like to add here that during my try on's they were crooked on one side or the other, to tight, to loose, screws were tightened and things were weird. So I mean, I wasn't exactly thrilled and I think I made that pretty clear.
I get home and realize how they tried to fix them, they melted the tail of the frames! (The part that goes over my ear) it was really weird and uncomfortable. I didn't notice how uncomfortable they REALLY were until I got to doing my day to day stuff. I decided they were enough of an issue to go ahead and call the manager. I mean, I hadn't had these frames for more then like, a month, maybe two! I wanted what I paid for, ya know?
I call and speak to a manager who was fairly nice and tried to deal with the issue. Sent photo's via email, phone calls back and forth...
She sees the picture's and totally agrees that they are not adjusted correctly. Now, I did not sign a frame waiver, and I obviously at this point did not trust this office to mess with my frames anymore! You see, Now I was in this spot. If I allowed them to try and fix their mistake, I needed to sign the waiver. Now what happens if they don't fix them correctly again? Basically, I was told by the assistant doctor (who actually told me that it was messing with my vision!!) that it would be on me from there. Let me also add my frames are designer and pretty damn pricey. Not something I can just replace at the drop of a hat! I did not want to risk having messed up frames when I just took the time and money to get nice ones! So, I nicely said to the manager, and the assistant doctor I did not feel comfortable with them putting me in that place. I felt VERY pressured and almost like I was being tricked into signing that waiver! I did not want to allow them out of being liable for my frames being uncomfortable! That is honestly, just not fair.
So, They decided to let me speak to the main doctor and owner. He came out guns a blazin' let me tell you! He was very mean to me from the start. Raising his voice, talking down to me, and being really unreasonable. People were actually staring. I was.. DUMBFOUNDED. I have encountered some people in my life but I have NEVER IN MY LIFE been treated that way by a professional. All I wanted was for my situation to be taken with care and professionalism. He didn't want to hear how I felt, all he wanted was for me to say "okay! Let me sign the waiver and let you take my frames and I will hope for the best!"
He basically told me "Let me fix them or go screw yourself"
He also more or less told me the girls at the front desk were not "as experienced" so, to me? That makes me want to know why they were allowed to touch my frames in the first place. It was almost a dream (nightmare) so basically, I am still in a fight over MY frames that THEY ruined and I did NOT sign a waiver. Don't trust them. DO NOT. read more
