I had the best experience at SPECS. This was my first time here after shopping for a new eye doctor through my vision insurance. My first appointment was with Dr. Ha and she made things so comfortable and I really loved the way that she broke down every single test to make sure that I completely understood what she was doing and why. I felt at complete ease and she took care of me throughout my entire appointment. She served me with kindness and that goes a long way. Her service was top-notch and she even gave me a hug goodbye which I thought was so sweet. The staff that helped me with my glasses was also exceptionally attentive and very kind. I never felt rushed making my selections and they made placing my order very easy. My glasses came within 2 1/2 weeks with no issues. I REFUSE to ever bring my business back here or trust this business with the health of my eyes. I went in for an appointment where the concern was dry eyes and while I was there I asked to ensure the COMPUTER glasses I was using was still an accurate prescription. Tell me why I was ordered progressive glasses without my knowledge, consent, or agreement. It wasn't until I finally got the call that my glasses were ready for pick up that I was indirectly advised that I had progressive lenses. The tech casually mentioned wearing my glasses all the time even when I'm driving. The comment caught me off guard and by surprise because I've never needed glasses for near or far distance; I only began using glasses for computer relief and blue light protection. How do I go from occasional glasses support for eye strain to mandatory glasses? I ended up getting a second opinion on the glasses I was prescribed from here and even that doctor was appalled as to why I would be forced into to depending on a prescription I do not need. I called Spec Vision Care to schedule an appointment because my glasses have worn down and I've been having a harder time seeing. Unfortunately, my experience on the phone was very disappointing. The receptionist who answered was extremely rude and had a lot of attitude, which is not what you'd expect from someone in customer service. When I asked if they accepted my insurance, she cut me off, quickly said "no," and hung up before I could even ask a second question. I have very high astigmatism, which makes it a bit tricky for most optometrists to prescribe contact lenses for me, since the lenses have to be custom made. I can't just go to your regular Costco or your average neighborhood optometrist. I have been seeing Dr Jessica Doeung for the last 4 years and she is an excellent optometrist! My frustration is every-time I order glasses her off staff tell me two weeks the glasses will be ready, they are never ready within that time frame it's always your glasses were sent back wrong prescription or the lab didn't do this or that. I have ordered glasses 4 times in 4 years and I have never gotten my glasses back in a timely manner I don't know why this continues to happen. I will find somewhere else to go. I just moved to Corona and needed an optometrist and they were nearby so I tried them out so glad I did. They have a new optometrist and she is very professional nice and personable . The staff helped me pick out the best glasses that looked good on me. I like them so much I had my girlfriend go there and get her glasses. They have a great scratch warranty with the scratch protection it was only about 29.99 to have the lenses replaced instead of living with a distracting scratch. Definitely recommend read more

Very disappointed with Desiree at Specs Vision Care. Unfortunately, my rescheduled appointment was not put in the system it was only marked as missed which was not the case when I called last week to reschedule. When I did come today, I checked in and waited for 35 minutes then asked how long would the wait would be. Desiree told me she would check me in. Which I told her that she said that she did that 35 minutes ago. She said that I didn't have an appointment. Why wouldn't you of told me that prior? She mentioned that she was the only one at the front desk which was not the case the entire 35 minutes. As far as the eye can see (or not see) there are eye glass businesses all over, but many intricate details sets Specs apart from the rest. I haven't yet hit the stage for needing glasses yet, but I will make this my destination when I do as my review is mainly what I've seen with the treatment of my wife and her personal testimonials. She's been a "Spec"-tator for actually quite a few years now and even reflecting on the length shows just how time flies. It was pretty much since it's inception because when she first went there I remember not much being around in that Riverwalk strip mall and that's certainly evolved as well. What has stayed the same though is the level of service she has received over the years. With her VSP she generally is pretty much guaranteed a free pair of glasses every year so she'll surface towards the year's end to go on a hunt and revisit in January to seal the deal. What stood out has been the customer experience created by Edward. She has raved about him consistently pretty much every year since he has assisted her and to give it that true Mom and Pop feel he has remembered her and details of visits to a T. I've stuck by the notion that assistance like that is a beautiful thing, but more importantly that is something you can't fake. You can pretty much tell when someone gives you that " oh heeeey", but really their mind is on overload trying to remember who the h-e-double hockey sticks you are. What's also kept her here is the sheer variety of glasses and heck it even throws me back when I tag along. There are high end brands (for her bourgeois self) and even some for us barrel scrapers (like myself). Oops hope she doesn't read that. Haha. Joking aside though, there are many different brands to choose from and the staff really does make an effort to put each person in a style that leaves their eyes with a smile. In closing, someday I know my 20/20 will be a distant memory, but it's places like Specs that will hands down (and possibly an eye roll) make me feel much better about coping with bifocals. Been coming here for about four years always had a pleasant experience until recently. When I went for my annual appointment, I was booked with a different doctor. Who was New who got my prescription absolutely wrong when I got my frames. I had to return them because the prescription was off and chose a different frame while I was there after seeing the regular doctor and she corrected, the prescription I felt pressured to get a new frame because I had already spent over $500 that was nonrefundable towards my new prescription. I picked a set I thought would work and it didn't. When I tried to take it back. I was told there was no refunds, and I could not get the prescription redone into a new frame. I have spent thousands of dollars at this establishment and the inability to accommodate and the treatment I received made me feel like I was an inconvenience and just complaining when all I wanted was a good frame and prescription when I'm spending over $500 on top of what they are getting from my insurance. Now I know I'll just go to Costco where they carry more reasonably priced frames and have a better return policy! read more

I read a lot of good things about Dr. Duong from these yelp reviews and I really wanted to enjoy my interaction with her but my visit was just okay. Although she wasn't rude, she wasn't that friendly either, just...dry. I can see how that would rub some people the wrong way. Her staff made up for that though and everyone was friendly and helpful. Dr. Duong seems knowledgeable though, so I may give this place another try when it's time for another eye exam. Plus the prescription she gave me was very good! The main issue I have with Specs is that it took TWO WEEKS to receive my prescription eyeglasses. Their website states that they have an "in-house lab and have the ability to make most prescriptions the same day"...apparently my prescription was too strong and needed to be sent out? I feel like the dr or staff would know what prescriptions their in-house lab can handle and would let me know that it would take x amount of time instead of just sending me off with a "you'll get a text when your glasses are ready." The most i've ever waited to pick up new glasses was a week so it was a little disappointing when that two week mark hit and I was barely getting a confirmation. i've also never gotten hi-index lenses so maybe that was why it took two weeks? Again, something that I feel like should have been mentioned to me so I knew what to expect. I had a hard time choosing between 3 and 4 stars because I actually like the store a lot and it is very convenient to my house. They have a lot of nice frames and I was able to pick up a pair of clear frames that I had been wanting and a pair of prescription sunglasses (those arrived before my eyeglasses). But waiting TWO WEEKS for some glasses seems unacceptable. read more

I found specs vision to be easy to get to and the staff very professional. Dr. Duong seems very kind and she made my 11 year old feel comfortable with it being her first eye exam. Many upscale labels of glasses to choose from. I plan to make my appointment to see Dr. Duong soon. 12/1/17 I've now been able to see Dr. Duong for my own vision-she is a nice lady. She got my prescription spot on and was able to solve an issue with my dry eyes and inability to wear contact lenses. She even gave me some boxes of Lenses to hold me over until my order arrives. I had something hit me in the eye two weeks ago - my eye still feels bad so I called my regular optometrist that I've been going to for the past three years yesterday and was delighted to get an appointment for 8:30am this morning. I showed up promptly at 8:29am and checked in. The doctor was standing right at the reception desk while I was checking in; she strolled down the hall. I was asked to have a seat and the doctor would see me in a few minutes. No problem. Ten minutes later she appeared and spent an additional ten minutes talking animatedly to her personal friend at the reception desk about SCE and fencing, among other topics. I went up and asked the receptionist why they had scheduled me at 8:30am if the doctor wasn't available at that time. After hemming and hawing I asked the reception if the chatty blond was the doctor. Yes indeed. I said, "So the doctor is talking to her friend instead of keeping my appointment?" The receptionist nodded. The doctor and her friend immediately started wrapping it up. I told the reception I'd schedule somewhere else, where the doctor prioritizes her injured clients over her personal friends. read more
